Card with a Tag

Hello!  I made this Christmas card with a tag that I attached to an embossed panel. With a few changes, I recreated the tag design in the same way (see post here from 2019) that I had made earlier with Gina K Designs stamps and dies and a Basket Weave stamp from Just for Fun stamps.  Had all the stamps since 2018/2019.   Used a bit of ribbon, twine and even a smaller tag on the tag. I embossed and inked a white panel with Darice EF Pine Branches before attaching the tag.  Finished with a card base of Fresh Asparagus CS and more GKD sentiments.

A Bouquet of Colors

Welcome to my studio!  I am showing a card that I made for the Creative Confetti Challenge which is a Tic Tac Toe one.  I chose the lower row across for my elements to use Emboss, Make It Sparkle, and Twine.  I began by stamping the bouquet from Power Poppy Countryside Bouquet set with Memento Peanut Brittle ink and coloring with Copics.  I trimmed the image with Lawn Fawn stitched circle die.  I attached this to a patterned paper from MME Notable pad that I embossed with Cuttlebug Wicker Weave EF for some texture. I just happened to find this colorful paper that seemed to go well with the colors in my bouquet.  Often times, I select the pattern first and select colors from it to use on my image. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Cottage Ivy ink, added some sparkle to the centers of the flower with Crystal Stickles and the buds(purple ones), and finished with a twine bow to tie the bouquet. Selected a precut turquoise card base that just happened to fit the design.

Friends are Flowers

Hello! It seems that I have been using a lot of digital images lately.  When I used pre-colored images, I feel like I am cheating since they make card making so quick and easy.  For this card, I printed out this Bucket of Sunflowers from Beccy's Place and teamed it with a digital sentiment from Whimsey Stamps.  I trimmed the corners with a corner punch and attached to a dry embossed yellow mat and then to a Purple card base. Finished with a twine bow that I hand made.

If I Could Pick a Bouquet, I'd Give It To You

Welcome!  My favorite theme for cards is flowers and Power Poppy Floral stamps are a favorite of mine. I pulled out a stamp from Power Poppy Countryside Bouquet set and created this card using yellow, blue, and green for the Creative Confetti challenge to use those colors.  Stamped the bouquet with Memento Black ink and colored with Copics.....more of my favorite things. Stamped the sentiments from the Power Poppy Dahlia set with Memento Green ink and heat embossed with Clear EP.  I have begun nearly always using embossing powder on stamped sentiments....just makes them look better. I lightly edged the image with a blue copics before attaching to a Yellow CS mat and a Green card base. Finished with a bit of twine "around" the bouquet.
I wish that I could go out and pick  a bouquet of flowers but we are having a mix of rain and snow today and there are not many flowers in bloom.  Will just have to be satisfied with stamping flowers on a card.
Challenges:

Banner Birthday

Welcome! The banner day continues in the studio.  Playing again with banners for the challenge at Double D.  I had papers and stamps on my desk from a kit I received with a magazine Make Special Cards (2017) and decided to use them for a birthday card with banners.  I used a die cut and papers to create the banner on a green twine that I draped across the card of white card stock and added strips of patterned papers. Stamped and embossed the birthday sentiment from Paper Pretties and the love label from the kit that I fussy cut and attached with the twine. Finished with a bright green card base.

Buttons on My Tag

Hello!  I have so many buttons in my craft stash and I love when I find any use for them.  I keep saying I am going to make some jewelry with some of them but never have.  But I did use some of them on a tag that I am entering in Tag You're It! Challenge #96 which inspired me to pull out some square buttons featuring flowers and one has a butterfly.  I believe I receive these in a Blog Candy or maybe found in a garage sale. Not sure!  I found a dotted pattern paper with some glitter effects that I thought was perfect as a background for the buttons.  I shaped my own tag design using my trimmer and some corner punches.  Stamped words on a ivory panel with GKD Fresh Asparagus ink using stamps from GKD Tropical Flowers set. Sewed on the buttons with green twine found in my leftovers.  The bit of twine was just enough for the tag.  Finished with a round pink button and the last of the twine for attaching the tag to a gift. (I colored the button with a Copic marker to better coordinate with the colors.) Used foam tape to adhere the two panels together.

Basket Tags

Welcome to the studio!  I am playing with the challenge at Tag You're It! shown below.  I was inspired to create  basket like tags filled with holiday greenery and berries.  I started with a Just For Fun Basket stamp that I stamped with DOI Walnut Stain on white CS and colored in with Copics.  I trimmed out 2 "baskets" using a paper trimmer, corner punch, and oval die.  I filled the baskets with holly, pine cones, and greenery stamped and die cut with Gina K Designs from Merry & Bright and Seasonal Sentiment stamp and die sets. Used Rich Cocoa, Cottage Ivy, Northern Pine, and Love Letter Memento inks.  Finished with some ribbon and twine.  Tags from Kraft paper were tied into the Basket.

Pink Roses in a Circle

Welcome!  Today, I'm playing with a sketch challenge.  This one gave me the chance to use one of the many doilies in my stash.  I began by attaching part of a paper doily to a panel of Pink CS.  I stamped roses from GKD Rose Bouquet set with Memento Angel Pink ink on white CS and colored  the image with Copics  and Memento Markers and highlighted with a White Pencil.  I trimmed the image with Spellbinders circle die and attached to a Fancy Scallop circle die cut from GKD Fresh Asparagus CS.  Used sentiment from GKD You Make Me Smile set using die cut label.  Assembled the card with green card base with Green Brads and Twine following the Tuesday Morning sketch shown below.

Candy Cane Ornament

Hello!  I was playing Tic-Tac-Toe at The House That Stamps Built and created this Christmas Card using Repeat Impressions stamps from the Snow Globe Series.  I used the diagonal row of Sponging, Texture, and Twine-- I sponged the white card base with DOI Fired Brick before attaching a mat of red CS and the ornament,  but it almost looks like a solid cardstock  in the photo.  The texture is from the heat embossed sentiment, the heat embossed candy canes,  and the metallic gold die cut circle.  I was attempting to create an ornament with the Candy Cane edged in gold,  but it almost looks like one of those ornaments made with a Mason Jar lid.  Finished with a Red Metallic Twine and Bow to hang the ornament.

Christmas Lights and Trees

Hello!  My card today was inspired by the challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches shown below.  I immediately thought of a stamp of  String of Christmas Lights by Alys Paterson from a Quick Card freebie set.  I stamped the lights twice on the corner of the panel of Red Striped pattern using DOI  Lucky Clover and heat embossed with Clear EP.  Colored the lights with red and green Nuvo Drops and Gold Liquid Pearls.  The tree stamps used on the white panel were from the same set....stamped and water colored in the same ink and did accents with Gold and Red Metallic markers.  Finished with sentiment from stash, red glittery twine,  and card base of striped paper. Patterns from DCWV Christmas Basics Pad.

Fall Leaves with Thanks

Hello!  I am back with another card today.   This one was inspired by the Sketch Challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I changed directions several times in designing this card.  First I started with sunflowers or fall flowers in mind but changed my mind when I pulled out this old pattern paper called Fall Leaves Aswirl that I bought at Joann's years ago.  I then planned to use some die cut leaves that I had leftover but then decided to use some of the leaves from the paper cut out with a square die and matted with some scallop edged squares.  My focal is a leaf stamp from GKD Signs of Autumn colored with Markers and Copics after I stamped with DOI Vintage Photo on white CS.  Added some Versamark ink and embossed with Clear EP.  Then I sponged with DOI Twisted Citron and edged with Brown ink.  Assembled the card with Gold card base and all the elements and mats.  Finished with some of those die cut leaves that I still had leftover ….stamped GKD Thanks on one and tied 2 together with orange twine.

Happy Birthday

Hello!  Today I have a masculine birthday card that I created with a Repeat Impressions Duck Stamp that I colored with Copics after stamping with Memento inks on white CS.  I cut the image with a circle die and matted on a die cut circle of Chocolate Brown CS.   Using the Sketch from this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge I assembled the card with a Brown card base,  a background of patterned paper from DCWV Safari Chic pad, strips of the Brown CS wrapped with Green Twine that picked up the green of the mallard duck.  Finished with a birthday sentiment die cut using Cheery Lynn dies.  I have fun coloring this duck image and used a photo in a bird book as a guide.
