A Bouquet of Colors

Welcome to my studio!  I am showing a card that I made for the Creative Confetti Challenge which is a Tic Tac Toe one.  I chose the lower row across for my elements to use Emboss, Make It Sparkle, and Twine.  I began by stamping the bouquet from Power Poppy Countryside Bouquet set with Memento Peanut Brittle ink and coloring with Copics.  I trimmed the image with Lawn Fawn stitched circle die.  I attached this to a patterned paper from MME Notable pad that I embossed with Cuttlebug Wicker Weave EF for some texture. I just happened to find this colorful paper that seemed to go well with the colors in my bouquet.  Often times, I select the pattern first and select colors from it to use on my image. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Cottage Ivy ink, added some sparkle to the centers of the flower with Crystal Stickles and the buds(purple ones), and finished with a twine bow to tie the bouquet. Selected a precut turquoise card base that just happened to fit the design.

Challenges:
Creative Confetti Challenge: Tic Tac Toe-see below.
Double D Challenges: Thought this card fit into the Colorful Challenge
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge: Always about using Patterned Paper.
Allsorts Challenge: Week 588 Use Hand Colored Image

Summer Fun

Welcome to my studio!  Just in time for a burger off the grill.  Part of the fun of summer is my DH doing his thing at the grill....less time in the kitchen for me.   I created this card to thank him for his great food that he grills.  I stamped the grill and sentiments from a Paper Pretties set that I have had for sometime. I stamped on White CS with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and heat embossed with Clear EP.  Colored with Copics and Silver Pen.  Highlighted the "fire" with Diamond Stickles to heat it up. For fun,  I also added some "sparks" across the top of the panel and to the dot over the "i" in word grill. Finished with a Sunny Summer Yellow card base.
Challenges:
CASology: Week 349 Cue Card Grill
AAA Cards: CAS Game #146 Made in Minutes + Optional Twist Summer

Humming Along

Hello! Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers......you are all so Special!   I have ben playing with an old stamp set from Flourishes called Humming Along. I was inspired by the challenge at Fusion for both the theme, colors and layout.   I found a "tag" or whatever it is framed with metal in my stash.  I stamped honeysuckles with Memento Espresso Truffle ink on the frame and colored with Copics.  I stamped 2 Hummingbirds with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics and added some Wink of Stella and Stardust Pen to give some shine and iridescence to the birds.  Hope you can see that. Attached the frame with orange satin ribbon and placed this on an orange card base but only showed the orange on the fold side.  The sentiment is from Power Poppy Hens and Chicks by Marcella Hawley who was also the illustrator of the Flourishes stamps.

I love Hummingbirds and have seen one already in our gardens.   Time to get more feeders out.

Challenges:
Fusion Card Challenge: Sweet Orange Blossoms. I used the sketch and photo inspiration shown left.
Tuesday Throwdown: Challenge 292 Welcome Spring.  Hummingbirds are a sign that spring has arrived.

Bird on a Fence

Second Post Today
Hello!  Today I am playing with a challenge from Sparkle and Shine shown below.  I began by cutting a Cardinal from card stock using a Silhouette file on the Cameo.   I created the fence using White CS, Memento Gray Flannel ink, and Scor-pal and trimmed by hand to the size needed for the fence.   For the background I embossed white CS with Darice  EF Leafy Tree and inked the raised surface with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and the sky with Memento Summer Sky ink.  I added Silver Sequins (snow) to all the leaves and randomly let a few fall from the tree.  The elements were all attached to a Dark Gray card base and then I stamped the sentiment from Power Poppy Stamps with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Challenges:
Sparkle & Shine Challenge: #22 Photo Inspiration on right.
Mod Squad Challenge: This week's challenge is friendship.
Simon Monday Challenge: Best Friends

Halloween CAS

Hello! It feels like winter is here this morning...temps in the 30's. It may be a cold night to Trick n Treat later this month. My CAS card today was inspired by the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #145 shown on right.   I stamped the word BOO! from a Mark's Finest Papers Stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added sparkle with Clear Star pen to each letter.  The Ghost Stamp from the same set was embossed with Black Ink and Clear EP on Vellum and fancy cut and colored with Copics.  To add some spookiness, I punched the edge of the White CS with a Martha Stewart Punch before attaching to an Orange Card Base.

Other Challenges:
Addicted to CAS: #74 Code Word Sparkle.  I am showing a close up photo ( not color correct) below so that you may see the sparkle of Clear Star pen on the words in the card.
AAA Cards: Game #50 Clean and Simple Halloween.

Some More Challenges

Hello!  I think warm temps are back and that means time outside today but I want to post this card first.  I was inspired by a few challenges to create this Ombre card in green.  I began with a Pattern Paper from MME Market Street pad that has an ombre design.  I embossed it with Cuttlebug EF Acanthus by Anna Griffin just because I love this embossed design.  I made a 3D flower with Spellbinder Blossom design and added some shine with Clearstar pen and Wink of Stella plus a clear sequin in the center. This and the leaf were cut from the same ombre pattern.  I finished with Happy Birthday words cut with Cheery Lynn Dies and some more sequins which are really silver but appear pink in the photo.

Virginia's View Challenge: #15 Ombre/ Monochromatic.  See graphic on left.  Virginia's Challenges are always fun.

One More for Christmas Card Stash

Hello! No, I am not ready for snow .  This is just a card for Merry Monday Christmas challenge to use ski, skates or a sled on our card and you have to have some snow with this theme. I was playing with the cameo and cut out the sled with a Silhouette cut file.  I was planning to color and print and cut the sled out but that did not work out. I went to another plan and just cut the sled out of white CS with the Cameo and colored with Copics E15,R46, N4 and a silver metallic pen. I think this came out with a better look than my original plan.   I assembled the sled, added some pine boughs cut with an Impression Obsession Die , and a red ribbon bow.  I attached the sled to the card with foam tape to give some dimension. I stamped the Creative Vision sentiment with Versamark  on red CS and embossed with PSX Snowflake Embossing Tinsel which I also added to the pine cutouts. The card was assembled with GKD Red Velvet CS as the base layered with pattern papers from Crate Paper
Peppermint pad. The green paper has a distress look.

Note: I have had this PSX Tinsel "forever" and have no idea why I have it or where it came from. It has a lot of sparkle ....shows better IRL.

8-10-14 Added Note: Received Honorable Mention at Merry Monday

Challenges in addition to Merry Monday:
Simon Wednesday Challenge:  Simon says make it sparkle.
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas  Challenge Extra:  Anything Christmas

I fancy cut it out and attached with tape made for use with Vellum. Added more sparkle to candle with Gold Metallic Pen and Clear Star pen.

New Year Fun

Back today with more wishes for a Happy New Year.  We spent a quiet night at home on New Year's Eve with a great dinner and champagne.  On New Year's I prepared a brunch of Eggs Benedict topped with a bit of leftover caviar and Al served  Mimosas.   We had our traditional dinner of roast pork, black eyed peas, sauerkraut, and corn bread.  It's partly a southern thing.

My card is made with stamps from Mark's Finest Papers "Big City" and "Peaceful Nuthatch" using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The fireworks are embossed with  Darice EF and inked with gold ink and clearstar pen. Attached to a black cardstock base.

Winter is Here

Winter is definitely here!   I have been busy making calendars, creating a photo book of quilts made by my Mother, making cards, and decorating for Christmas.  I also spent some time spending a $100 GC that I won from Joan's Gardens...how fun was that!  I thought today would be a good day to post a snowy scene.  This is a card that I made with Heartfelt Creations Christmas Collections using one of the panels and adding an oval frame with nesties die, some embossing with CB Snowflakes EF, and some sparkle with Clearstar pen and Stickles.  I used a navy card base. Sentiment is from Annabelle Stamps.

I bought a Cheery Lynn Snowflake die a few months ago and have not played with it.  Since there are several Christmas Card Challenges in blog land as of late, I thought I'd make a Christmas card with the die.  I cut 3 snowflakes out of Silver Metallic CS and arranged on a Navy Card.
