Card with a Tag

Hello!  I made this Christmas card with a tag that I attached to an embossed panel. With a few changes, I recreated the tag design in the same way (see post here from 2019) that I had made earlier with Gina K Designs stamps and dies and a Basket Weave stamp from Just for Fun stamps.  Had all the stamps since 2018/2019.   Used a bit of ribbon, twine and even a smaller tag on the tag. I embossed and inked a white panel with Darice EF Pine Branches before attaching the tag.  Finished with a card base of Fresh Asparagus CS and more GKD sentiments.

Let Your Light Shine

Welcome! Today I am sharing a card that I created with an older lighthouse stamp from Art Impressions.  Most times when I have used a lighthouse stamp, I do not show any light beams. But for this design, I darkened the sky and added light beams. I thought this added more interest to the design. I stamped the image with Memento Black ink and colored with copics and also did ink blending with ink pads for the sky and sea. Added some white accents to waves and beam with White Gel Pen. I found an appropriate sentiment from my stash which is from a Hero Arts kit and stamped with the black ink. I trimmed the image and mats with GKD Dies and attached to a white card base. A fun card to make.

Blooming on the Vine

Hello! I was inspired by a GKD video to create this card using GKD Wild Blossoms Stamp Set and Two-Tone Inking Technique. I stamped the vine with GKD Asparagus Green and Dark Spruce inks and stamped the flowers with GKD Light and Dark Carnation inks on white CS. Also stamped the sentiment directly on the panel with the pink inks to create an ombre effect. Layered this with a Green Asparagus mat and attached to an embossed white card base. Used Cuttlebug Gingham EF and GKD Rectangle Dies from her Master Layout 2 set. Finished with some Pink Gems for sparkle.

Inking Up is Fun

Hello! I broke down and bought a set of blending brushes and had to try them out on a card.  I inked up a panel of white card stock using Green Asparagus, Dark Spruce, Light and Dark Carnation inks from GKD to use as the background for a birthday card. I stamped the panel with a stamp from Happy Flowers set using black ink and then trimmed the image to fit on a Green Asparagus card base. I stamped sentiments from the same set with the Green Asparagus ink and die cut with GKD dies. Die cut the word Happy 3 times and layered with contact glue. For additional interest, I stamped a bud from the image a second time and inked with the pink shades, fussy cut the bud, and added with foam tape. I think this added some balance to the card.

Pocket Birthday Card

Hello! I made this masculine Birthday card that was inspired by the challenge Can You Handle The Pressure?   which is to use anything with Embossing with a Twist of Plaid. I had a hard time finding  some plaid paper but finally found a scrap that I used on the card with embossing.  It seems that I have used nearly all the plaid papers that were in my stash. 

Supplies: Memento Lady Bug Ink, Versamark Ink, Red Embossing Powder. Heartfelt Creations Pocket Stamp, Gina K Design stamps and dies from Enjoyable Greetings set, GKD Birthday sentiment.  Blue Card stock panels already embossed with Cuttlebug Gingham EF that I found in my stash. Plaid Mat embossed with Cuttlebug Wicker Weave (hard to see in photo). White CS Base. Gold Brads.  Square of leftover Pellon fabric that I stuffed in the pocket as a handkerchief.

Sunflowers for Ukraine

Welcome to the studio!  I have been playing with NBUS Gina K Designs Sketched Flowers Stamps and Dies to create this card which I recently purchased.   I stamped 4 flowers with DOI Fossilized Amber and stamped the centers with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and added some fock to the center for texture. When was the last time that I used that? Stamped some leaves and stems with Memento Bamboo Leaves. Die cut all these and arranged on my card. First, I prepared my white card base by embossing the front with Darice Floral Frenzy EF and partial die cutting the edge with the flower dies. The sentiment is from an older GKD set Hope is Faith.  Finished with some strips of yellow CS on the inside. Photo below shows inside and die cut edge.

Happy, Happy, Happy, and Happy

Hello! I had fun making this card but it took so long to create because I kept changing the elements and the layout, but I finally finish the design.  The card was inspired by the February Monthly Mix challenge at Gina K Designs. We are to make a fun fold card and use pattern paper that we create with GKD stamps.  I stamped GKD Petite Flourish Background stamp with GKD Green Asparagus Ink on GKD Innocent Pink ink for the pattern paper which I trimmed into panels to fit the folds of the White Card. See the fold in the photo on the side. I inked all the edges of the panels with Pilot Metallic Gold marker before attaching. 

I stamped a Rose image from GKD Tropical Blooms set with Versamark on the Pink CS and heat embossed with Gold EP. I cut the image with a die from the same set and colored in the leaves with green Copics and shaded the Petals with Pink Copics.  Attached this image to the edge of the fold. I stamped, heat embossed, and die cut the word Happy 4 times. Adhered one of these to the outside fold and arranged the others   to the inside beneath the top fold. Did the same steps-stamp, heat, and die cut- with the word Birthday and attached so you can see on the card beneath the Happy when closed and open.  Lot of Happiness unfolds from this card!

More Love and Hearts

Hello!  Sharing more love in another card featuring Hearts!  I used stamps and dies from Gina K Designs You Have My Heart set.  I stamped 3 hearts with Memento Rose Bud ink and die cut the 3 different sizes of hearts. The center heart was stamped with the word Love. I arranged these on a white grosgrain ribbon and that to a Pink Cardstock panel that I embossed with a Cuttlebug border EF of dots. Finished with a White card base.

Heart Two Heart

Hello! Back to more cold and snow so I am back in my studio!  Playing again with the Twofer Card Challenge #23 Hearts. I am using a Heart Die from Gina K Designs You Have My Heart set.  I die cut a bunch of hearts from cardstock in my stash....used up some scraps.  I created a birthday card using a patterned paper that was perfect for celebrating a birthday.  I picked hearts inspired by the colors in the paper and made a "bunch of balloons" held together with metallic gold string (thread). I floated the balloons a top the background paper popped up with foam.  Double cut the Happy Birthday dies by Cheery Lynn  from Pink and Yellow cardstock and attached to the card. Used a Pink card base to finish. 

I made a Valentine for the second card.  I used a  heart die cut from Red cardstock, popped up on red foam, attached to a die cut stamped heart(red ink on white), attached to a red circle and then a White Doily. I actually embossed the doily with Versamark ink and White EP to give it some shine and body.  I completed the design with a Red card base and a sentiment heat embossed with the White EP. Stamps, dies and EP are from Gina K Designs.

Basket Tags

Welcome to the studio!  I am playing with the challenge at Tag You're It! shown below.  I was inspired to create  basket like tags filled with holiday greenery and berries.  I started with a Just For Fun Basket stamp that I stamped with DOI Walnut Stain on white CS and colored in with Copics.  I trimmed out 2 "baskets" using a paper trimmer, corner punch, and oval die.  I filled the baskets with holly, pine cones, and greenery stamped and die cut with Gina K Designs from Merry & Bright and Seasonal Sentiment stamp and die sets. Used Rich Cocoa, Cottage Ivy, Northern Pine, and Love Letter Memento inks.  Finished with some ribbon and twine.  Tags from Kraft paper were tied into the Basket.

Musical Anniversary Card

Hello!  I was inspired to make this card for the challenge at Allsorts with the theme of Music.  I used a scrap of Patterned Paper with Gold Foiled accents from a magazine freebie  and a card base of Metallic Gold CS (looks like Kraft in photo).  Note the words on the paper says "Something for you, something for me."   I stamped the GKD Guitar and Sentiment on Ivory CS with Versamark, heat embossed with Gold EP,  and then die cut. Assembled on the Metallic Gold CS base and added a border of Shiny Metallic Gold to finish.  This will be used as an  anniversary card in October.

More Christmas In July

Hello!  Two cards are better than one if you have the time and the supplies are already out.  I started by stamping some poinsettias and leaves from GKD Merry & Bright set using some older SU inks Ruby Red and Always Artichoke. I die cut them with GKD dies and set aside.  I stamped and die cut the word Christmas with GKD Seasonal Sentiments set.  I used GKD Heavyweight White and Red Velvet CS to assemble the 2 cards as shown in photos.  I used die cut white foam to pop up the word in the top card. Stamped the word Merry on each card with Versamark but used Red EP on one and White EP on the  other. Both are CAS designs and would be easy to mass produce.  Almost forgot....I added a bit of red crushed velvet flock to some of the petals on the second card.  That's the one that I played with the angle of the  Christmas die cut to be a bit different.

Christmas in July

Hello!  July is a good time to make Christmas cards in order to have a stash for the holiday.   I made this card using a technique of thumping which is to ink a stamp with a marker and then add more color to by tapping a darker colored marker over the stamp.  I used GKD stamps from Pressed Flowers (flower and stem) and Joyful Holidays(Sentiment) with Memento Markers I inked the Poinsettia with Lady Bug and then thumped on  Rhubarb Stalk.  The stems were inked with Bamboo Leaves and thumped with Cottage Ivy. I use GKD dies to cut out the images and arranged on a embossed mat of GKD Grass Green CS. Stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts white ink and heat embossed with EP. Added a bit of gold embossing to center of flowers.

Christmas Gift

Hello!  Christmas is almost here.  Taking time out to make a card for the Mix It Up Monday challenge at Stamp TV.  Cat asked us to be inspired by a box of candy (shown below) to make a project.   I decided to make a box for my card using DCWV red foil card stock.  I stamped the box lid from GKD Beyond Baskets 2 with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold EP.  This was tricky since the foil tends to curl up with the heat, just be careful. I fussy cut the lid adding a box.  I then heat embossed gold snowflakes on the box and added die cut white snowflakes taking my cue from the inspiration photo.  Snowflake stamps and dies were from GKD Merry & Bright kit.  I stamped the tag and sentiment using more stamps from Beyond Baskets 2 and attached it with narrow red satin ribbon to the gift.  Used a layer of GKD Metallic Gold CS that was embossed with Darice Snowflake EF for the background.  Used White Glossy CS as the base to keep all layers shiny.

I must say I was quite pleased with the way this card turned out.

Sequins or Not

Welcome to my studio!  Today I am playing with the Mix It Up Monday Challenge at Stamp TV and we are to create our own patterned paper using stamped images.   I chose to use the pine bough stamps from Merry and Bright Stamp TV kit with Memento Bamboo Leaves and New Sprout inks on Ivory CS to create my pattern.   For my focus I stamped and die cut Pine Cones and Pine Bough that I adhered to the background.  I die cut Holiday from the Grass Green and Pumpkin Spice CS's and stamped the word Happy with Distress Oxide ink Wild Honey.  Finished with a card base of Ivory CS and a Mat of Grass Green.  Other supplies: Inks-DO Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Memento Rich Cocoa , Copic Brown, Clear EP.  After I made a photo of the card,  I decided to add copper sequins to give a more finished look. Compare the first photo to the second photo.  Which do you like?

Merry and Bright

Hello! I am back with  a very quick post to enter this card into challenges including Merry Monday Christmas Challenge 267 which is to create a card with the colors Green, Blue, White/Silver/Vellum.  I used them all just to have all bases covered.  I used stamps and die cuts from Gina K Merry and Bright Stamp TV kit.  The Blue and Green card stocks as well as Vellum and Silver Metallic paper were from my stash.  Used Versamark and Zing Silver EP.  I spritzed the blue card mat and the ornaments with Gold Shimmer mist for more shine but hard to see in the photo.  The sentiment was heat embossed with silver EP on clear Vellum and fussy cut and attached with Vellum Tape. 

The hard part of this challenge was getting a good photo because  Metallic Papers are always hard for me to photograph.

Hello!  There is so much to be inspired by in the Inspiration Photo for Mix It Up Monday challenge, that I had to make another card.  For this one, I used Snowflakes, Poinsettias, Silver, and Sparkle.  All the stamps and dies are from the Merry and Bright Stamp TV kit by Gina K.  Used Turquoise, Tan Leather, and Soft Sand GKD card stock and Silver Metallic paper. Other Supplies: Hero Arts Silver EP, Clear EP, Clear Star Pen, Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers ink,  Versamark ink.
