Luck of the Irish

Welcome! Today I have a St. Patrick's Day card that was created using elements that I had in my leftover stash. I have been trying to better organize items in my studio so I can better find things that I can put to use.  I came across a white cs background die cut with Spellbinders A2Divine Eloquence, some shamrocks cut with the Cameo using a Silhouette file, and a printed digital sentiment from Power Poppy.  I embossed the Shamrocks with Cuttlebug EF Tiny Bubbles. I die cut the sentiment with a label die and placed it on a mat of Green CS. (I created the mat by tracing the outline of the label die and fussy cut it from the green cs.) I assembled all my found elements on a Green Card Base that matched the Shamrocks and added in some Metallic Shamrock confetti from stash.  I finished the inside of the card with an Irish Blessing printed on the computer. 

FYI-The white frame was also embossed with a Darice Floral EF but it does not show in the photo. 

Challenges:
Inspiration Station: Challenge #25 Lucky Clover. When I saw the challenge photo I was inspired to use up those die cut shamrocks but add some bubbles with embossing. 

Can You Handle the Pressure? Challenge is Anything Goes with Embossing with a Twist of Think Spring. Used EF on Shamrocks and also on Background that does not show in photo.

Explosion of Color

Welcome to my studio.  I have a floral card to share that I created with Power Poppy digital stamps...the image is from Garden Fireworks and the sentiment is from Countryside Bouquet.  After printing the image, I colored the flowers with Copics and inked the edges of the panel with a Copic marker.  I attached to a green card base. I photographed the card and then decided to add a sentiment ....shown in second photo.

Thinking of You and Sunflowers

Hello! This is my second post today and again I have been playing with Sunflowers as the theme of my design.  The Sunflower stamp is from Power Poppy Sunshine of My Life digital stamp set.  I printed the pot of sunflowers on white card stock and colored with Copics inspired by the colors in the As You See It Challenge using colors close to Bermuda May, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, and Whisper White.  I even colored the leaves near the Bermuda Bay color rather than using green. The sentiment which was close by on my desk so I used.  Stamped it in red ink and then brown ink to get close to Cajun Craze color. I inked the edge of the image with color and attached to a near "Bermuda Bay" card base.  I came as close to the required colors as I could with out having the actual colors.

All in This Together

Welcome to my studio!  I have 2 cards to share today made with the same digital stamp Tulips In a Hobnail Pitcher from Power Poppy.  I was inspired by the Vase shown in the challenge at The Card Concept which has a patterned design. I did something that I never did before and that was to "paper piece" a digital image since I wanted to have a patterned vase on my card.  Through the magic of Photoshop  Elements, I was able to use digital paper and fill in a section of a digital image before printing the image.  The digital paper was actually a file I made by scanning patterned paper from Shabby Rose Collection by Our Daily Bread and I used a section of that paper to piece in to the vase of the digital image.  I included a close up of the vase below. Now that I figured this out, I can use any digital paper to fill in a portion of a digital image... this is easier than printing an image on patterned paper and then fussy cutting to attach to a printed image to do piecing. 

I printed the paper pieced image twice on heavyweight white card stock to make the 2 cards.

For the top card, I colored the image with Copics and trimmed the edges with a corner punch. With Memento Gray Ink, I stamped an appropriate sentiment  for the time we are living in........ found this in Power Poppy's  Sassy Succulents set.     Completed the card with a Gray Woodgrain card base (also inspired by the challenge photo) that I made with a Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Scor-Pal, Gray CS, and white ink. 

For the second card, I added some blues flowers to the printed image using a Hero Arts stamp, blue ink, and masking.  I used different Copics to color the image but used the same sentiment.  Finished with a Blue card base.  I am not sure which version that I like best but I do like the addition of the blue flowers. 

I really like how well the pattern on the vase turned out. I even surprised myself a bit accomplishing that.  A close up view of the vase:

Wishing You Luck

Hello! Coming your way...to wish a Happy St. Paddy's Day! 

 I have been playing with Artsytstamper's Oxalis Digital set that includes patterned papers, images and sentiments.  Check out all of Beverly's beautiful art at The Artsystamper Shop.  For the top card I used the colored Oxalis image with one of the patterned papers and combined it with a digital sentiment from a Power Poppy Shamrock set. After printing the image with the patterned paper. I added a mat of yellow cardstock and a white card base. Added some sparkle to the pattern with Stardust Pen but that does not show in photo.  I did a second version of this card but added some metal confetti from my stash,. See below.

 I made another card with the same Oxalis image but used the yellow Patterned Paper with a Green card base.  The sentiment is another Power Poppy digital sentiment. Added the top hat and shamrocks from my stash of metal confetti.

A Gift of a Rose

Hello!  Today I am sharing a card that I made with a free digital image of a Rose that I recently downloaded from Power Poppy.  I printed the image on a GKD Heavyweight ivory cardstock and colored with Copics.  I trimmed the image with a Spellbinders die and attached to a card base of ivory that measures 3.5" by 5".  I chose that size because I have some ivory envelopes that will fit that size.  I had planned to make this a one layer notecard but the Copics bled through....hoping it would not bleed...guess only the Heavyweight white cardstock from GKD does not bleed. Finished with a Power Poppy stamp in Memento Tuxedo black.  This is a good size for a gift or simple notecard.

Plaid Card with Big Bow

Hello! I made a very quick and simple Christmas card using Power Poppy digital Large Bow with Tag Sentiment image that I combined with a Digital Plaid patterned paper from my stash.  Used Photoshop to create the card coloring the bow and layering it over the plaid.  I printed the card on white card stock and finished coloring the tag with Copics.  How easy was that!

Candy Canes with Holly

Hello!  Today's Christmas card was made with Power Poppy's digital image Candy Cane Classic that I printed on White CS and colored with Copics.  The colors that I used were inspired by the patterned paper from a magazine freebie.  I used GKD Red CS as the base and mat under the image.  Finished with some glossy accents on the berries.  Sentiment stamped with Memento red ink is from Penny Black.  Used Spellbinders Rectangle Die to cut mat and image (I cut the tail of the bow to extend beyond the edge).

Sending Thanks with a Bouquet

Welcome to my studio!  One of my favorite fall flowers is Sunflowers and I love to color them.  I used the Sunflower digital image from Power Poppy to create a bouquet of Sunflowers and  printed in a sepia color on watercolor paper. I colored the image with a water brush using Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Peeled Paint, Walnut Stain, and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks. Stamped the sentiment from Power Poppy Vibrant Thanks set with Walnut Stain ink.  Decided to keep the design clean and simple. Recycled a paper from an envelope (Hallmark card) for the background....was the perfect color and has a slight texture. Finished with a card base of GKD Chocolate Brown CS.  Love this without any added embellishments.

A Stack of Books with Fall Flowers

Hello!  Today I am playing with the Power & Spark Challenge -Hit the Books.  We are to be inspired by anything related to books.   I combined a Power Poppy digital image Sunshine of My Life with a Bee Crafty digital of a stack of books that I resized and printed on White CS.  I colored with Copics and combined with some scraps of some striped paper that went well with the colors that I had used. The stamped sentiment is from a Jane's Doodles set. When I showed this card to my DH, he suggested that I add some titles to the books which I did with a Micro Uni-ball pen.

Lots of Pumpkins

Fall is in the air!  Enjoying the cooler temperatures and change of seasons.  I printed out a Power Poppy digital image Fall Haul loaded with pumpkins that I colored with Copics.  Created a simple card using a Grass Green Mat and card base of Yellow CS.  Finished with a sentiment stamped with brown ink and an orange twine. This card is loaded with pumpkins so I think it will fit into Creative Confetti Challenge All about the Pumpkin Spice.

Berries Picked For You

Hello!  I took inspiration for this clean and simple card from a post on Power Poppy featuring tips for coloring by Amy Shulke.   I printed and colored the same Power Poppy  digital image Berry It  on White CS and colored with Copics.  The sentiment was printed from the same set. I trimmed the image and attached to a Grass Green CS.  Papers are from Gina K.

One Layer Cone Flowers

Welcome!  I have a similar but different card  with Coneflowers that I posted earlier. Again, I printed the Power Poppy digital Easy Breezy Coneflower on GKD white heavy weight CS and colored it with Copics.  I used this paper because Copics do not bleed through and I can make it one layer.  I stamped a Bee from MFP with black ink and colored with a yellow marker and a Clear Star Pen for some glitter on the wings. Finished with GKD sentiment in Memento Green ink.

Coneflowers for a Friend

Hello! I have another card to post today....wanted to get one in for the challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches for Sketch #465 shown below.  I printed a Power Poppy digital Easy Breezy Coneflower on GKD heavy weight CS and colored it with Copics.  I used this paper because Copics do not bleed through and I can make it one layer.  I added a strip of Vellum stamped with a Power Poppy sentiment in Distress Oxide Ink Picked Raspberry that I heat embossed with clear EP so that it would not smear. Attached this to the card with Washi tape...first time I did that.  Now I guess this is not a one layer card but I would consider it CAS.
