Happy, Happy, Happy, and Happy

Hello! I had fun making this card but it took so long to create because I kept changing the elements and the layout, but I finally finish the design.  The card was inspired by the February Monthly Mix challenge at Gina K Designs. We are to make a fun fold card and use pattern paper that we create with GKD stamps.  I stamped GKD Petite Flourish Background stamp with GKD Green Asparagus Ink on GKD Innocent Pink ink for the pattern paper which I trimmed into panels to fit the folds of the White Card. See the fold in the photo on the side. I inked all the edges of the panels with Pilot Metallic Gold marker before attaching. 

I stamped a Rose image from GKD Tropical Blooms set with Versamark on the Pink CS and heat embossed with Gold EP. I cut the image with a die from the same set and colored in the leaves with green Copics and shaded the Petals with Pink Copics.  Attached this image to the edge of the fold. I stamped, heat embossed, and die cut the word Happy 4 times. Adhered one of these to the outside fold and arranged the others   to the inside beneath the top fold. Did the same steps-stamp, heat, and die cut- with the word Birthday and attached so you can see on the card beneath the Happy when closed and open.  Lot of Happiness unfolds from this card!

Thinking of Everyone

Hello!  It's been a few days since I have posted but I have this Thinking of you Card to share today.   I thought I had posted this but could not find it, so I am using  it to say that I have been thinking of everyone out there in blog land and hope you are staying healthy and safe. I created this card by heat embossing GKD stamps from Tropical Blooms with Gold EP on Black CS and coloring with Pencils.  Also used a splatter stamp with the Gold EP.  I inked the edge of the image layer with Pilot Gold Metallic marker and attached to a card base of Black CS.

  I have not been posting lately but I have been busy in my studio creating a great many cards.  I put together a package of over 80 cards that I sent to the Life Care Center in Tennessee where my Mother is a resident. This included many Hello, Thinking of You, and other assorted themes to cheer up the residents who have been unable to have company.
I assembled the package by pulling cards from my stash some of which I modified and changed to fit the need.  I failed to make a picture of those cards that I sent but many were cards that I have posted on this blog. I also used a lot of those bits and pieces that I had accumulated in my leftover box of never used die cuts, stamped images, colored digis, etc to create several quick cards that I enclosed with the already made ones.  I also included some Thank You Cards to the staff.
Sending cards is a great way to keep busy and let others know that you care.  I see a lot of card makers doing that very thing.
I am now working on a box of Easter Cards to send to the same place and almost have the number that I need.  More about that later and I will have pictures.

Pink Roses

Hello!  I have so much patterned paper that I forget what I have.  I found a book of patterned paper from Trimcraft that was a freebie in a Creative Stamping magazine.  I pulled out a sheet that I used on the card shown above.  The design reminded me of GKD's stamp set Old Country Roses so I inked up the layered rose stamps with 3 shades of pink ink and stamped on white CS. I fussy cut the trio of Roses and attached to a panel of the printed paper. Heat embossed a GKD sentiment from Scripty Saying with Gold EP.  Attached the panel to a Pink card base. Love how this came together with little effort.  Now to use some more of those pretty papers.

Playing with Perfect Pearls

Hello!  I made this card for this week's ModSquad challenge -  we are to use Mica powders like perfect pearls on our card.  I stamped Roses from the Gina K Designs set Rose Bouquet with Versamark ink on GKD Red Velvet CS and applied Perfect Pearls to the image.  I colored the leaves with green pencils. Since I did not have a dark green cardstock to use behind the image, I colored white cardstock with green copics to match and also used versamark on the edges with more of the Perfect Pearls. Wanted some shine on the mat.  I cut the mat with a scalloped square die but manipulated the die to create a rectangle shape (only had the square).  Assembled the card with a white card base.  The GKD sentiment was  stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with GKD White EP. 

(The color of the leaves and the scallop edges match better in real life but does not appear to in the photo.  I might have liked this card better if I had fussy cut the rose image and placed on a different background. )

Reflect on Past Cards

Hello! The January Monthly Mix Challenge at GKD is Let's Reflect.  We are to take a card we made last year and create a do over, an update or adjustment to it. Use at least one element from the old card to make a new one.  I chose the card below using the GKD rose stamp from Rose Bouquet that I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with different color Copics but trimmed with the same Oval die.  I layered the image on a Red Vellum layer die cut with Cheery Lynn Swedish Spring Oval Frame. Gold embossed  a sentiment from GKD Thank You Friend set.  Used the same card base of Fresh Asparagus GKD CS and rounded two corners with a Corner Punch.

Garden of Roses

Hello!  My favorite cards are made with flower designs.  I used Gina K Designs stamps from Rose Bouquet and Wildflowers (Sentiment) for this card.  The design was inspired by a recent video by Gina K. using ink blending with pencils.  I stamped the Roses with Versamark on white CS and heat embossed with GKD White EP.  I blended DOI Worn Lipstick over the image and then added highlights with Green and Red pencils.  Stamped the sentiment with the same ink. First time to use this lovely sentiment. Used White CS base and GKD Fresh Asparagus card stock for mat.  Love how this turned out.

Pink Roses in a Circle

 Welcome!  Today, I'm playing with a sketch challenge.  This one gave me the chance to use one of the many doilies in my stash.  I began by attaching part of a paper doily to a panel of Pink CS.  I stamped roses from GKD Rose Bouquet set with Memento Angel Pink ink on white CS and colored  the image with Copics  and Memento Markers and highlighted with a White Pencil.  I trimmed the image with Spellbinders circle die and attached to a Fancy Scallop circle die cut from GKD Fresh Asparagus CS.  Used sentiment from GKD You Make Me Smile set using die cut label.  Assembled the card with green card base with Green Brads and Twine following the Tuesday Morning sketch shown below.

Vintage Roses

Taking time out to create a vintage style card using Gina K Designs Rose Bouquet stamp. Stamped the image with Memento Toffee Crunch ink on Ivory GKD Cardstock and colored with Copics.  Cut the image with an oval die and distressed the edges with DOI Antique Linen and stamped GKD sentiment with same DOI.  Attached this and an antique pink satin ribbon to a Ivory Paper Doily(from stash) that I wrapped around the Dark Sage Card Base.  I think the doily, colors, and ribbon are suitable for a vintage card.

Roses for Mom

Hello!  We are enjoying beautiful weather in Ohio.  Perfect for gardening...but too early for roses to bloom except on a card.  I used Gina K Design stamps from Tropical Blooms set for the roses and an older GKD stamp for the sentiment.  I used Versamark for stamping and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and then water colored with a water brush and Distress Inks Forest Green and Abandoned Coral. Added a charm that reads "Moms are all Heart" with metallic gold twine. Used a Coral cardstock mat and a Green base card.

Playing with a Stencil from Dies

Welcome!  I received inspiration for this card from a video by Sandy Allnock who used stencils with distress inks.  I made a stencil by die cutting Memory Box's English Rose Stem from heavy white CS.  I placed the stencil on white cardstock and inked the Rose with Distress Oxide Ink Picked Raspberry and Peeled Paint.  I placed the cut out flower (which I had leftover when I cut the stencil) over the inked area and did another layer of ink on the flowers.  This added more depth to the flowers.  After finishing the inking,  I did an additional step by dry embossing the image with the die which added some texture.  I decided to leave this as a one layer card but added some Picked Raspberry ink to the edge of the card.  Finished with the sentiment made with GKD stamp and die from Tropical Blooms.

I'm Back with a Card

Hello!  I have been away from card making for a few weeks and trying to get back in the groove to make some cards.  I began by making this one in Black and White with a pop of Peach.  I used GKD stamps and die from Tropical Blooms set. Supplies: White and Black CS, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Versamark, White EP, White Gel Pen, Ribbon, Copics.
Sorry the photo is a bit wonky.....the card is actually cut straight.

Roses for My Valentine

Second Post Today
Hello!  Playing with the Hearts and Flowers Stamp TV kit,  I came up with this card featuring die cut Roses.  Stamped the flowers with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. Used a White card base embossed with CB EF Polka Dots.  Added border of red hearts cut  with a punch and added some smaller hearts with glitter and the sentiment from stash stamped on a Spellbinders die cut with a heart of Pearl tears.

Purple Roses and Ribbons

Hello!  This card was made for Stamp TV Mix It Up Monday Challenge Just The Month from Cat. We are to make a card using the color  that corresponds to our month of birth on the list posted.  The color that I am to use is purple, not my most favorite color.  I used GKD Old Country Roses and stamped a trio of roses with  3 step stamping and various shades of purple.  The sentiment was stamped with Memento Grape Jelly ink.  Finished with 2 shades of purple grosgrain ribbons,  purple sequins, and purple card base. (Sequins are all purple but appear differently in photo.)

Everything Rosy

Hello!  Have you ever created your own Pattern Paper?  I did using Photoshop and a single digital image.  I used the single rose image from Power Poppy Rose and Chamomile set  and arranged 36 roses on a panel 4" x 5.25", colored the roses red (through the magic of Photoshop), and printed this on white CS.  I then printed a sentiment and image from Power Poppy Everything Rosy set.   I colored the image with Copics and cut with an oval die and placed on a red oval mat. The sentiment was cut with a label die and edged with red ink.  I assembled the card using my "Pattern Paper" with a red card base and adding a Green Grosgrain ribbon with a blue thread that picked up colors in the image.

Yellow, Mellow Roses

Welcome to my studio! Thanks for coming by.  Today I am sharing a card that I made with Gina K Designs' Old Country Roses set. The Roses were done with 3 multi layer stamps using DI Squeezed Lemonade, Memento Dandelion, and DI Fossilized Amber inks. The multi layer leaves were stamped with Memento New Sprout, SU Always Artichoke, and Memento Cottage Ivy inks.  Used a GKD splatter stamp (Tiny Textures)  with Fossilized Amber and GKD sentiment with Always Artichoke.  Used GKD Grass Green Card Base.

Birthday Wishes

Hello! This card is a bit different style for me.  Just playing around with some old and newer stamps to make a birthday card.   I used Gina K Designs Inspiration Mosaic stamp for the background design and filled in the "boxes" with sentiments, leaves, stems and some gems.  I used the spotlight technique for the roses with leaves in one of the sections. All other stamps from GKD including Old Country Roses, Birds & Blossoms,and Wild Blossoms.  Used Memento Tuxedo Black and other colors inks for stamping.

Rose Background

Hello! This card was made using a die cut inlay background.  I used Memory Box English Rose Stem die to create the background on a Shimmery Pink CS and Stick It adhesive.  I simply attached the panel to a Shimmery Gold CS and added some Pink and Green sequins for texture and interest.  I did not add any sentiment to the front but will add inside.

Roses to Thank You

Hello!  I have another card that I CASE'd for a challenge...this time for the challenge at Time Out and the artist is Ardyth whose card is shown below.  I copied almost everything-the layout, theme, and the word Thanks.  I used a strip of green foil at the bottom edge instead of Gold and added some sequins for the dots.  The Green strip foil at the bottom edge of the card is the same as the die cut word but does not show very well as  foil in the photo.

A Bouquet for Happy YOU

 

Hello! Today I am sharing a bouquet of Orange Roses in a Vase.  I was inspired to create this card by the photo inspiration challenge (below right) at Stamp TV Hosted by Silke Ledlow.   I stamped several roses on watercolor paper using 3 step technique stamps with 3 shades of orange inks.  I stamped a vase on white cardstock with versamark and heat embossed with clear EP and color lightly with Copics.   I stamped some stems and roses in the vase as well as some fillers and then arranged my other roses (fussy cut) in the vase with tape and foam tape.  I made a photo of the finished card (shown below) and then decided to add some Glossy Accents to the vase as the vase seemed to not show that well.  ( Photo above). The Glossy Accents seems to have a green cast from the stems instead of a bluer cast.  A lot of stamps went in to the making of this card.
