Quilts for Christmas

Hello! Today I am sharing 3 Christmas cards that I have made from scraps from Peppermint Pad by Crate Paper.  I was inspired by my own design that I recently made using GKD stamps from the Needlework set using the quilt stamps. I thought this design would make good use of Christmas Patterned Papers. I stamped 3 different patterns with the quilt stamp and then fussy cut the squares and assembled the pieces to create the quilts. I also used sentiments from GKD Peace and Joy set. The stamping was done using Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink (for the quilts and sentiments) and Rich Cocoa ink (for the racks stamped on wood grain patterned paper).  I used different embossing folders on each quilt pieced from the patterns and used embossing also on 2 of the backgrounds. Other supplies: Die cut hearts on middle card, Metallic Gold Pen for hearts on bottom card, Ivory Card Stock for bases. \Challenges:

Christmas Lights and Trees

Hello!  My card today was inspired by the challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches shown below.  I immediately thought of a stamp of  String of Christmas Lights by Alys Paterson from a Quick Card freebie set.  I stamped the lights twice on the corner of the panel of Red Striped pattern using DOI  Lucky Clover and heat embossed with Clear EP.  Colored the lights with red and green Nuvo Drops and Gold Liquid Pearls.  The tree stamps used on the white panel were from the same set....stamped and water colored in the same ink and did accents with Gold and Red Metallic markers.  Finished with sentiment from stash, red glittery twine,  and card base of striped paper. Jingle All the Way

Welcome!  Do you hear the Christmas bells ringing?  For this card I pulled out an old Bell stamp from Gina K's Very Merry Christmas set but used one of her newer sentiment stamps.  I simply used the stamps with Versamark and Gold EP on Red Velvet CS.  The sentiment was doubled embossed which gave it a raised look. I filled in the ribbons with a Gold Gel Pen.  I stamped and embossed the bells again on Gold Metallic CS which I fussy cut and popped up on the card.  I think this may be the first time to gold emboss on Gold Metallic paper.  The result was a very CAS card but a bit elegant.

I inked the edge of the red layer with Pilot Gold Marker....this is a great way to give a layered look to a card but with less weight for mailing.

Oldies but Goodies

Hello!  Another card made with scrap of  pattern paper from stash and a very old stamp Fall Leaf Pattern, this one from All Night Media.   I teamed this with a GKD stamp from A Year of Leaves.   I inked a white CS with Distress Oxide ink Twisted Citron and Fossilized Amber and stamped and water-colored the leaves with several Distress Oxide inks.  Added some gold to the leaves with metallic marker. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on a strip of Vellum and embossed with Gold EP.  I assembled the card with a Orange Card Base, with HFC pattern paper, and a Gold Metallic frame.

Plaid for Christmas

Hello! I am back with another Christmas card that I am entering into a few challenges.  I started with a Penny Black Tree stamp from the Wonder Collection.  I stamped it on white CS with Memento Cottage Ivy ink and added balls of Gold with Metallic Gold Gelly Roll pen. The GKD Peace & Joy Sentiment was stamped in SU Ruby Red. Following the Sketch from Tuesday Morning ,  I assembled the card with Plaid Pattern ( Digital paper printed) , White CS, and GKD All Spruced Up CS.  I finished up with GKD White Organza and Gold Ribbon and Bow.

A Trio of Pumpkins

 

Hello!  I have been playing a lot with pumpkins and there are a lot of challenges featuring them in blogland.  I took color inspiration from the challenge at Inspired By All The Little Things  and some glitter from the challenge at Curtain Call.  I stamped Gina K Designs pumpkin from Signs of Autumn on Oyster Pearl CS with Versamark ink and embossed with Gold EP.  I colored with Copics and added more gold with Gold Metallic Pen.  I placed this on a mat of Gray CS that was also used as the card base.  I die cut Happy Thanksgiving with Cheery Lynn dies from a Shimmer Gold CS used as the background for the image.  Finished with colored sequins for some sparkle and texture.

Glittery Pumpkin

 

Hello!  I have combined pattern paper, gold metallic CS, die cuts, and a fussy cut pumpkin to create this card.  The Repeat Impressions pumpkin was stamped on an Oyster Pearl CS with Versamark and embossed with Gold EP.  I decorated the pumpkin with Metallic Gold Dots to make even more glittery.

Holiday Card

Hello!  Another card for the holidays today.  I used the tone on tone technique of stamping the same color of ink on the same color cardstock.  I made the red background with Memento Love Letter ink and a Gina K Design stamp from Joyful Holiday and used Memento Bamboo Leaves ink on green cardstock for the strip.  The sentiment and focus image were inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The flower was colored with Copics using tones of green and reds.  Used gold metallic pen for the center of the poinsettia.   This was made for Susie's Mix It Up Monday challenge at Stamp TV to use the Tone on Tone Technique.

Sparkle and Shine

 

Hello!  This week Tuesday Morning Sketches is sponsored by Doodle Pantry so I made this card with the Vintage Ornament digital and sentiment from a Doodle Pantry file. I dressed it up with a lot of sparkle and shine using Gold Metallic CS, Gold Metallic Pen, Gold Jelli-pen, Glittery CS's, Ribbon with Gold Metallic Threads, Clear-star Pen and Wink of Stella Pen.  I also used Darice EF Chevron to give texture to the Gold Metallic Background and Die Cuts and Punches for the shiny flower.
