Snow Scene

Welcome! Another cold day in Ohio. It's 14 degrees this morning but feels like 10.  It's a good day to post a card that was inspired by the Inspiration Palette challenge at The House That Stamps Built. As I tend to do sometimes,  I almost recreated the scene in the photo. I used DOI to sponge a background on white cardstock and stamped a tree line with 2 Repeat Impressions stamps Large Pine Forest and Bass Harbor Light (used the large trees portion only).  I stamped the center trees first with Memento Black ink and then stamped again with Memento Cottage Ivy ink.  The trees on the left were stamped only with green to get a different dimension. I used a scrap of watercolor cardstock on the lower part of the card for snow.  Added some falling snowflakes and snow drifts with Snow Marker. The sentiment from my stash was inked with Memento London Fog.  The Rose card base is a textured cardstock by Neenah, a bargain from Tuesday Morning.

More Christmas Cards

Hello!  I am trying to catch up on some challenges that I wanted to enter before the deadlines.  I created this Christmas card for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge D1119 at The House That Stamps Built.  I used the elements from the bottom row-Glitter, Trees, Vellum.  Used Red Glitter card stock which I find is much easier that using loose glitter. Used Repeat Impressions stamp of Trees stamped with Memento Green Ink on White CS. I used red vellum  pieces left over from a die cut to decorate the trees. Also used Repeat Impressions sentiment stamp, Red Memento ink, White card base, and Rectangle die.

Winter Scene

Hello! No snow in Ohio, but it is on the way but I hope not too soon.  For now, I am sharing some snow on my card.  I created this winter scene with a Tree stamp from GKD Merry and Bright set that I heat embossed with Silver EP on GKD Blue CS.  Added snowflakes (embossed with White EP) and sentiment ( embossed with Silver EP  3 times) using GKD stamps from Holiday Wreath Builder. Added more dots of snow to sky with Snow Marker.  Attached strips of watercolor paper to bottom edge for snow banks with texture.  Used Frosty Stickles to tree for more glitter (hard to see in photo).  Used white card base.

Five Gold Rings

Hello!  Continuing with my series of The Twelve Days of Christmas cards.  These cards are made with a set called "Twelve Days of Christmas" from Creative Stamping magazine that I got last Christmas.  I have 2 cards made for the fifth day....five gold rings.  For the top card, I stamped the tree image on Green CS with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Gold EP.  I colored in the flowers and hearts with Pencils and the star with Gold Metallic pen. Added Diamond Stickles to the 5 rings. Fussy cut the tree and attached to a Red Card Base.  Heat embossed the sentiments with Gold EP.
The second card uses the same stamps and heat embossing with Gold EP but I did on a Textured Green CS. Colored the Hearts with Copics. Also used the Diamond Stickles on the rings and also on the star.  I colored in and outlined the tree with a Clearstar pen. Attached the Green Panel to a Dark Red Card Base.

Wintery Thank You

Hello! This Thank You card was created with Heartfelt Creations Patterned paper, White CS, White Glossy paper, Cuttlebug EF Allegro, Cheery Lynn dies, and Hero Arts white ink.  I sponged the white ink on the raised areas of the dry embossing.  I also edged the patterned paper with a Pilot Metallic Silver marker.

Christmas Lights and Trees

Hello!  My card today was inspired by the challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches shown below.  I immediately thought of a stamp of  String of Christmas Lights by Alys Paterson from a Quick Card freebie set.  I stamped the lights twice on the corner of the panel of Red Striped pattern using DOI  Lucky Clover and heat embossed with Clear EP.  Colored the lights with red and green Nuvo Drops and Gold Liquid Pearls.  The tree stamps used on the white panel were from the same set....stamped and water colored in the same ink and did accents with Gold and Red Metallic markers.  Finished with sentiment from stash, red glittery twine,  and card base of striped paper. Who Is Amazing?

Hello! Or should I say Whoo! Whoo!
I am not sure what inspired this card with the Owl and Trees, but I pulled out the Jane's Doodles stamp set Wise Owl and began to play with it.  I decided to use colors Gray, Yellow, Kraft and White from the Color Throwdown challenge.  Made a background of Trees with Memento ink on white CS.  Stamped the Owl on Kraft, Yellow, and Gray CS's and fussy cut and paper pieced the pieces to shape the Owl that I sat on the stamped branch.  Finished with some Baby Button eyes and the sentiment stamped in Yellow and Kraft inks. Placed on Yellow card base.

Winter Scene

Hello!  I had fun making this card inspired by the Sketch #432(below) challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I pulled out Hero Arts October kit to create the scene using stamps and dies. Used blue CS for the skies and White CS for the other layers - the mountains were inked with Distress Oxide Iced Spruce ink.  The trees were cut from Green CS and the stamped reindeer was fussy cut.  I added snow to the sky, mountains and trees with Marvy Snow Marker. Spritzed the sky with Gold Shimmer mist. The sentiment from Creative Clear Stamps was inked with DO Faded jeans and filled in with Stardust pen for some glitter and shine.  Attached to Glossy White CS base.

More Christmas Tags

Hello!  Today I have more tags inspired by Emily's design on Tag You're It! Challenge #75.  I used a similar layout and shape for the tags as well as adding  Christmas Trees.  On one I used a tree die cut from green glitter paper with a bear stamp.  The second one features a stamped tree and gifts. Used stamps from Hero Arts October kit which are perfect sizes for use on tags.

Holiday Card

Hello!  The inspiration for this Christmas card was the Sketch Challenge at Retro Rubber Challenges.  I did turn the sketch to make a horizontal design.  The tree image from Let It Snow set by  Creative Clear Stamps (dates back to 2009) was inked 3 times with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copics.   I decorated the trees with Gold and Silver Metallic ornaments simply made with hole punches.  I used a vertical sentiment from Repeat Impressions Stamps heat embossed with Silver EP.  I edged the panel with Silver Metallic marker before attaching to a white card base.

Hello!  I was playing with the challenge at Tag You're It! and was inspired by the featured artist Loll Thompson whose tag is shown right.  I used her colors but in a different way and pull the theme of trees and snow into my tag.

Fall Scene at the Cabin

Welcome!  I really love playing with watercolor projects but do not do as often as I would like.  The fun part of water coloring is not always knowing what the results may be,  but I do like the way this cabin scene with fall trees turned out.
I used Gina K Stamps with SU Close as Cocoa ink on water color paper.  Using a small flower stamp, I stamped several colors on to the bare trees and ground.  I used a water brush to color in the various colors on the trees until I achieved the look  of fall leaves that I wanted.  Using the watercolor brush I colored in the cabin and the surrounding area including the other trees and bushes.   I especially like the look of the "slate" roof achieved with the water brush and a gray ink.  I usually use Distress inks when water coloring but used SU and Memento inks this time.  I do hope I have enough "white space" for this to qualify for CAS.  To maintain this as a CAS card, I did not use any embellishments to keep it clean and simple.

Thank You Card

Welcome!  My card today was made for Stamp TV 12 Days of Christmas Challenge for Day 6 to use Distressed News Print.  Using a sketch from Sketch Saturday, I layered a section of Distressed paper on to a Textured Ivory Card base and a mat of GKD Chocolate CS.  Used DI Antique Linen, Tea Dye, and Vintage Photo for inking news paper.  I stamped trees and sentiment from GKD The Northwoods with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on GKD Ivory CS for the top layer.  Added ribbons and a star brad from stash to finish.

Made Just for Fun

I am always looking for something different to try on a card.  This was a card that was inspired by a video by Theresa Momber on Stamp TV shown here.  I just had to make this card and followed her step by step directions but with different stamps.  I was pleased with my results.

Cabin in the Snowy Woods

At Craft a Scene Challenge, the theme this month is Trees, Trees, Trees.  They want us to use at least three trees stamped on our entries.  The entry should have a stamped or digi image in the background and another in the foreground.  For my cabin in the woods card, I used the cabin with trees image and trees in the background with some birds flying by. I added deer in the foreground and extended the walk and placed some snow mounds by drawing those in. In all I used 5 stamps to create the scene.
