Card with a Tag

Hello!  I made this Christmas card with a tag that I attached to an embossed panel. With a few changes, I recreated the tag design in the same way (see post here from 2019) that I had made earlier with Gina K Designs stamps and dies and a Basket Weave stamp from Just for Fun stamps.  Had all the stamps since 2018/2019.   Used a bit of ribbon, twine and even a smaller tag on the tag. I embossed and inked a white panel with Darice EF Pine Branches before attaching the tag.  Finished with a card base of Fresh Asparagus CS and more GKD sentiments.

Using Up Old Stash

Hello! One of my goals this year is to use up some of my cardmaking stash.  I have spent several hours making many Christmas cards using pattern papers, cardstock, stickles, embellishments, embossing folders, etc that I have had for a number of years. Today, I am sharing 4 of the cards that I made using HFC pattern papers with white card base and red mats and embossing with Cuttlebug Allegro EF. Three of the cards are stamped with Creative Vision Stamp (2009) with Memento Red ink.  The 4th Card was finished with a die cut from Creative Expressions that I cut from scraps. I added Glossy accents to the berries and Cardinals but that is hard to see in the photos.

Majestic Bird

Hello!  This is a good time to check on your friends and I thought this card would be nice to send someone to let them know we care.  I was inspired by the Tic Tac Toe Challenge at The House That Stamps Built.  I was a bit stumped for an idea at first but decided to start with Heron and sentiment stamps from Repeat Impressions and build from there.  I stamped and heat embossed the image and words with Black Ink and Clear EP on white card stock which gave a great definition to the feathers. I added some brown flocking to the cattails and glossy accents to the beak and legs which added texture but I needed to add dimension which I did by adding white foam to the back of the cut out image before attaching to the Glittery Patterned Paper background.  Now to use piercing which is the other element in Row 1, I added piercing to the water area which gave it some definition. Like the choice of patterned paper that I used....goes well with the colors in the image and it has a lot of glitter  stripes- hard to see in photo.

Owls Are Cute!

Hello! I had some fun playing with a Hoot Owl digital image from Beccy's Place.  I used her colored version of Hoot and printed it on white cardstock with a computer generated sentiment.  For fun I added some brown and yellow Flocking to his feathers and Glossy Accents to his eyes.  I love how his glossy eyes pop out on the card.  Rounded the corners of the trimmed image with a corner punch, attached it to a patterned paper mat and brown card base, and finished with 3 green gems. Isn't he the cutest?

Love My Coffee

Welcome! Hope you have time for a cup of coffee!  I'll tell my DH to pour another one.  My DH is the coffee barista in the house and this cute digi  from Dearie Dolls reminds me of him in a way....but he does not have a moustache.  But he is always ready to serve a cup of hot coffee.
I printed this colored digital image (never used before) from my stash of images on white card stock.  I added some color to the shoes and skin tones with Copics.   Added some red foil to his kerchief using some quick glue and added glossy accents to the cup and shoes.  Printed the sentiment with Angelface font which I just downloaded. ( Been looking for a hand written script like this and found it.)
Finished the card by inking the edges of the trimmed image with a Black Copic and attaching it to a card base of patterned paper with circles.

Happy 100th Birthday

Hello!  I made a very special card earlier this month for my Mother who celebrates her 100th Birthday this Sunday....her birthday is Monday January 20.  Family and friends will be gathering in Bruceton, TN to celebrate this milestone. I created this card using the Cameo for printing and cutting the cake and numbers that I attached to colorful patterned paper of falling confetti. The words were cut with Cheery Lynn and Marianne dies. I enhanced the front with pearls, glittery gemstones, stardust pen and glossy accents. Edged the card with yellow EP.  The inside of the card was designed  and printed  with Photoshop Elements. I included 100 candles, each enhanced with sparkly Stickles on the flames and glittery Stardust pen on the stripes.  A personal message was include on one of the panels but not shown here.  The finished size of the card was 8.5" high and 5.5" wide.

Happy 100th Birthday, Mother!

Merriest Wishes

Welcome!  I was playing with Power Poppy digital images from the Merriest Berries set (which I have never used) and came up with a couple of one layer cards. I printed the images and sentiments on GKD heavyweight white card stock which is perfect for coloring with Copics because there is absolutely no bleeding on this paper.  And that makes for a great luxury weight card. I used Glossy Accents on the berries for some shine and texture.   I also used Sakura Clearstar and Gel pens on the thread in the ribbon but those elements do not show well in the photos.  But the richness, shine, and texture shows great in real life on what I think are very elegant CAS cards.

Candy Canes with Holly

Hello!  Today's Christmas card was made with Power Poppy's digital image Candy Cane Classic that I printed on White CS and colored with Copics.  The colors that I used were inspired by the patterned paper from a magazine freebie.  I used GKD Red CS as the base and mat under the image.  Finished with some glossy accents on the berries.  Sentiment stamped with Memento red ink is from Penny Black.  Used Spellbinders Rectangle Die to cut mat and image (I cut the tail of the bow to extend beyond the edge).

Christmas Blessings

Hello! I have been playing with more patterned paper from Heartfelt Creations Festive Holly Collection. I used a panel of Cardinals in a Holly Bush  from the paper collection that I stamped with a Christmas sentiment with Memento Red Ink and embossed with Cuttlebug Allegro EF.  I added glossy accents to the berries and birds' beaks for texture. Trimmed the panel and attached to a card base of GKD red cardstock. I added some red gems and a die cut Poinsettia with a center of gold glitter to finish.  The flower was cut from the HFC paper with dies from Creative Dies.

Ready for a Trip

Welcome to a rainy day in the studio!  A couple of challenges brought to mind some digital images that I have never used.  This card uses one of them -the Tiddly Inks image of Suitcases which was a freebie.  I thought it would be perfect for the ModSquad challenge to use only 3 colors black, brown, and cream plus a tag.  All suitcases need some type of tag and most are brown or black??  I printed the image on a cream card stock with black ink of course. I colored the images with Brown and Black Copics and sponged the edges with DOI Antique Oxide and Vintage Photo.  This gave an antique look to the stack of luggage. Added some texture with Glossy Accents to the corners and latches. I die cut a couple of tags in the cream CS and added some stickers from Imaginations (in my stash).  Attached the tags with a Brown Brad.  Also added a sticker to the side of the locker.  Finished with a mat of brown and card base of black, both card stocks from GKD. I would call this Clean and Simple style.
I'll be back later with another image that I remembered in my digital files.
Challenge:
ModSquad Challenge: Gail asked us to create a card with only 3 colors-black, brown, and cream plus add a tag.
The Card Concept: #121  Adventure Awaits. Inspired by the luggage and colors in the photo. Did not realize that I have use the same image as Susan on the DT until I posted this.

Merry Little Christmas

Welcome!  Changing seasons up a bit ….going from fall to Christmas cards.  I recently received some Heartfelt Creations paper pads that I bought with a prize that I won.  The paper that I used on this card is from the Festive Holly Collection.  I trimmed the first panel and placed on a red mat and then on a white panel embossed with Snowflakes lightly inked with blue ink.  Added texture to the scene with a Snow Marker and Glossy Accents.  Placed this on a card base of the  GKD Red CS.  Did not have to stamp a sentiment since it was printed already on the panel.  I attached another panel to the inside which I will complete later with a stamped or handwritten note on a white panel. (See below). Card made without use of stamps.

At The Beach

Welcome to my studio! Today I have a card made with Repeat Impressions Sandcastle stamp (Year 2016). I stamped the image with Memento Toffee Crunch ink on White CS and colored with Copics and sponged the sky with Memento Summer Sky ink.  I stamped the image a second time and fussy cut the star fish and added glossy accents to it.  I attached the star fish, 2 real seashells, and a real mini sand dollar to give dimension to the scene.  Stamped the sentiment with DOI Vintage Photo. I finished with a Blue card base and mat of Kraft CS.

Life's an Adventure

Welcome to my studio!  Today my card was inspired by The Library Challenge and the book The Tiger who came to tea.  I was not familiar with this book, but... would not having tea with a tiger be a life adventure?  So I used the sentiment Life's an Adventure with the image of the Tiger.  I stamped the sentiment stamp and the Tiger stamp with Memento Black Tuxedo ink and colored the image with Copics and a white gel pen.  Added some highlights to his whiskers with Stardust pen and to his eyes with Glossy Accents. I was very pleased with my coloring of the image.  I was also inspired by the bright colors of the cover to find a colorful Pattern Paper for my background and a Yellow (color of the table) card stock for my base.  The striped paper was from the Kaiser Craft paper pad called Jungle Bug Collection.  How appropriate? I completed the card with a brown mat underneath the image and added some Orange Dewdrops.  I attached the image at a angle.....such seemed like the thing to do for an adventurous design.  All supplies were from my stash.

A Birthday Not Forgotten

Hello! Another card to share this first day of August.....what happened to July?  When I saw the challenge at Just Us Girls, I knew I had to pull out old Elephant and Sentiment stamps from Mark's Finest Papers (no longer around) dated 2011.  I stamped the image with Memento Gray Flannel ink on white CS and colored with Pencils and OMS.  Stamped the sentiments with DOI Walnut Stain.  Framed the image with GKD Dark Chocolate CS die cut with Spellbinders Frame die and attached to Textured Pattern Paper from DCWV Safari Chic paper pad ( from old stash).  The Pattern Paper picks up colors in the inspiration photo.  Added some Glossy Accents to give texture to the tusks. This is a great card to add to my Masculine Birthday stash.

Basket Tags

Welcome to the studio!  I am playing with the challenge at Tag You're It! shown below.  I was inspired to create  basket like tags filled with holiday greenery and berries.  I started with a Just For Fun Basket stamp that I stamped with DOI Walnut Stain on white CS and colored in with Copics.  I trimmed out 2 "baskets" using a paper trimmer, corner punch, and oval die.  I filled the baskets with holly, pine cones, and greenery stamped and die cut with Gina K Designs from Merry & Bright and Seasonal Sentiment stamp and die sets. Used Rich Cocoa, Cottage Ivy, Northern Pine, and Love Letter Memento inks.  Finished with some ribbon and twine.  Tags from Kraft paper were tied into the Basket.

Twofer Challenge Birds

Welcome!  Today I am posting cards that I created for the Twofer Card Challenge #12 - make 2 different cards for 2 different occasions using the same stamp, stencil, or die.   I used a Swan stamp from The 12 Days of Christmas stamp set that was in an issue of Creative Stamping.   For a Christmas card I stamped the swan 7 times (using a mask) on white CS with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics, stamped sentiments from the same set, and layered with a blue card base and an orange mat.
The second card was made with 2 panels of White CS inked with Distress Oxide Ink Salty Ocean.  The panels were both results of my playing (experimenting) with DOI and were found in my stash  of saved handmade backgrounds.  The bottom panel ( inked by swiping the pad over the paper) was embossed with Fiskars Texture Pad Ocean and trimmed  along a wave. On the top of the card, I used a panel that looks like a sky with clouds.   I stamped another swan, colored with Copics, fussy cut, and attached to the card. Stamped some sentiments from my stash with DOI Salty Ocean.  Also added some glossy accents to the swans' beaks.

Magical Snow Globe

Hello!  Cannot believe it is the first of November and snow will soon be here.  The Christmas card shared today was created with Repeat Impressions stamps from the Snow Globes and Ornaments* series.  I used the sketch from the House That Stamps Built challenge shown below.  I stamped the globe with Memento Gray Flannel and Nautical Blue inks and colored it with Memento Markers and Copics.  Added some snow with Snow Marker.  I added glossy accents to the base to give dimension.  Other supplies: White CS, Light and Dark Navy CS, Pilot Silver Metallic Marker (for edges of layers), Versamark ink, Silver EP, Stardust Pen, Snowflake EF, Sentiment, Snow globe, and Snowflakes stamps all Repeat Impression.  Fun card!

Note: Whenever I type the word "ornament"* I remember that is the word that I could not spell in a spelling bee and caused me to lose. That was a long time ago.
