Monochrome with Style

Hello! I have a very simple thank you card stamped with an old pumpkin stamp that I have had many years.  I think it is a PSX but it has no markings on the stamp.  I have always colored this image and this is the first time I stamped it and just let the stamp details show through in a monochromatic design.   I used SU Bravo Burgundy ink on Ivory CS for both the image and Gina K sentiment.  I placed on a card base in the same color tones.  Simple but elegant.

Bountiful Basket

Welcome!  Today I am playing with an old stamp by Rubber Stampede called Bountiful Basket dated 1995.  I think I must have got this stamp from a garage sale many years ago around 2009?  And I do not think that I have ever used it.  I stamped the basket with a light color ink Memento Toffee Crunch and colored with Copics.  This stamp has mostly flat surfaces not line stamping so it is a bit difficult to color.  I am sharing photos of both the wood block and the rubber stamp.  It is interesting how stamps have changed from being on wood blocks and now just clear stamps.  The old wood stamps are a piece of art in themselves and great items to collect if you have the room.

Back to my card....stamped the image on white CS and colored with Copics and did some highlights with Pencils.  Used some metal brads on the basket for a bit of texture and dimension and to use some of my stash of embellishments.  Added a sentiment from Power Poppy (2014) with DOI Vintage Photo and distressed the edges of the panel with DOI Wild Honey and simply attached to a Gold Yellow card base.

Christmas Cheer and More

Welcome!  I have been playing with another great sketch by Melissa from Tuesday Morning Sketches and some Christmas patterned papers by American Crafts from the Kringle & Co pad.   I found this poinsettia and foliage stamp from Gina K's Joyful Holiday set and used it as my focal image. The tags were stamped with word sentiments from Gina K Seasonal Sentiments set.  Supplies used: Red Velvet, White, and Green CS, 2 Patterns, Oval and Oval scallop dies, Tag Die, Memento Cottage Ivy and Rhubarb Stalk inks, Copics, Glitter Dome bling, Crystal Nuvo Red Berry Drops, Fiskars Paper Edgers, Twine, Hole Punch., Gina K Designs stamps.

Fall Leaf

Hello!  I have another card made by collecting a leaf from outdoors and using it as a stamp.  This time I used a Maple Leaf with Distress Oxide inks Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade.  I added some splatters and inked the edges of the panel that I attached to a White card base.  The sentiment is from Gina K Designs Skeleton Leaves.  Another very quick and easy card.

Leaf as a Stamp

Hello!  The other day I saw a video with Gina K using actual leaves and Distress Oxide inks to make cards.  It reminded me of doing that several years ago as well as scanning leaves to create my own digital papers.  This week I picked up some leaves (boy was it cold outside!) and pulled out some distress oxide inks to play with.   To make the card shown above, I used a Coleus leaf (pictured below) with Twisted Citron and Aged Mahogany and white cardstock.  I added the word Thanks with a Repeat Impressions stamp and the Aged Mahogany ink.  Placed this on card base of GKD Faded Brick CS. A quick and easy card and certainly one of a kind.

Pour a Cup of Coffee

Hello!  Today I am playing with a digi stamp from STAMPlorations called Autumn Pumpkin Mug that I printed on white cardstock and colored with Copics.  I fussy cut the mug and popped  it up on a corresponding color CS  and a panel of Pumpkin patterned paper (printed from a digital file from Kate Cuttables).  The sentiment stamp is an old Mark's Finest Papers stamp.
I would love to have some real mugs just like the paper one on my card for our morning coffee.

Harvesting Wheat

Hello!  I have another entry for the Twofer Challenge #10 Harvest.
This is such a fun challenge that I had another idea for two cards using the same stamp.  The stamp that I used for both cards is from GKD Always Autumn set...the wheat image is one that I have never used.  For the first card, I stamped the image and sentiment (GKD Scripty Sentiments) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white CS.  I framed the image with a die cut from Black CS.  Used scallop oval and oval dies. Kept this sympathy card clean and simple.

For a Thanksgiving card, I stamped the wheat image 3 times with Memento Peanut Brittle ink on Ivory CS and a Power Poppy Sentiment with Brown ink.   I edged the panel with a Pilot Metallic Gold Marker and placed on a layer of patterned paper from a Paper House pad and then an Ivory card base

Harvest of Apples

Welcome!  This is a great time for Harvesting many choices to choose.  As you see in my card above I have 3 bushels featuring 3 different types of Apples.  I was inspired by the Twofer Card Challenge #10 Harvest to create the cards above using Bushel of Apple stamp (Gina K Design) for a birthday card and another card for Thanksgiving.  I used Gina K Design stamps for the sentiments on the birthday design and  a Mark Finest Papers sentiment on the second.  I used Memento Black Ink for stamping and Copics for coloring.  I had thought I was finished with the harvest card on the right.....just had the apples and sentiment on the strip of dotted paper (shown below).  But when my DH saw it, he said it was not much of a harvest and should have some corn on the card.  So I went back to the drawing board( so to speak) and came up with digital image of corn that I printed in various sizes and colored with Copics to make it colorful Indian corn. Fussy cut and added it to the bushel of apples.

Dracula Appears Again

Hello!  Dracula is still hanging around my studio....he shown up on another card requesting blood donors.  The background of the card is a patterned paper from Echo Park pad The Apothecary Emporium which I have been hoarding.  Stamped Dracula (Mark Finest Papers stamp) on white cardstock, colored with Copics and fussy cut. Added a strip of dripping "blood" punched with a Martha Stewart punch. Sentiment stamps from Mark Finest Papers added with Memento black ink. The theme of this was inspired by The Library Challenge.

Blue Christmas

Welcome!  I created this Christmas card for the challenge at Tuesday Morning sketches.  I chose snowflakes when I saw this whimsical sketch...maybe I was influenced by Carol and Janee's  cards.  I used Gina K Design stamps and a die from Seasonal Sentiments set. I stamped the snowflakes and word Merry with Versamark on GKD Powder Blue CS and heat embossed with Hero Arts Silver EP.  Attached the word Christmas die cut from Silver Metallic CS and some White enamel dots to finish. Edged the panel with Silver Metallic Marker before adhering to card base of blue.

Time for Falling Leaves

Hello!  The weather has turned cool here in Ohio but the leaves are just beginning to turn color.  I decided to create a card using the colors from  the Inspiration Palette Challenge 01718 at The House That Stamps Built and the sketch from Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #172.   Instead of stamping leaves for my card, I used an entire tree of leaves.   I stamped Repeat Impressions Shade of the Elms stamp with Memento Toffee Crunch ink on watercolor paper and water colored the image with Distress Oxide inks Twisted Citron, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade,Vintage Photo using all the colors in the color palette below. I trimmed the image in a pentagon shape creating my own template for  the shape.    I place this on a mat of the same shape in Brown CS.  Attached this to an ivory card base and added strips of brown CS instead of using a background layer.  The GKD sentiment was stamped in Vintage Photo ink to finish.
Note: When I posted the photo the sky appears blue in the image. It is only the natural color of the Watercolor paper since I did not ink the sky area or use any blue. Do not know why it looks blue.

Sparkly Succulents

Welcome!  Today I am playing with greens with some added sparkle.  I stamped Power Poppy stamps from Sassy Succulents  with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink and colored the image with Memento green markers and green Copics in several shades of green.  Added sparkle to the flowers and words with Star Dust pen.  Adhered this to a mat of Green Glitter paper which married well with my colors.  Love how my monochromatic design turned out.  Hope you can see the sparkle on the image and words.
