A Bouquet of Colors

Welcome to my studio!  I am showing a card that I made for the Creative Confetti Challenge which is a Tic Tac Toe one.  I chose the lower row across for my elements to use Emboss, Make It Sparkle, and Twine.  I began by stamping the bouquet from Power Poppy Countryside Bouquet set with Memento Peanut Brittle ink and coloring with Copics.  I trimmed the image with Lawn Fawn stitched circle die.  I attached this to a patterned paper from MME Notable pad that I embossed with Cuttlebug Wicker Weave EF for some texture. I just happened to find this colorful paper that seemed to go well with the colors in my bouquet.  Often times, I select the pattern first and select colors from it to use on my image. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Cottage Ivy ink, added some sparkle to the centers of the flower with Crystal Stickles and the buds(purple ones), and finished with a twine bow to tie the bouquet. Selected a precut turquoise card base that just happened to fit the design.

Christmas Ornaments

Welcome to my studio!  The 2 cards that I have posted today were inspired by a Jennifer McGuire video show casing a GKD stamp set (now sold out) and using creative masking.  I decided to use a GKD Stencil Snowflake Mandala with masking and Distress Oxide inks for blending to create these Christmas cards. Circle dies were used to create the masking.  I used a sentiment from GKD Peace and Joy set heat embossed with Gold EP on both cards. The top card was made with DOI Salty Ocean and Faded Jean with GKD Blue Raspberry CS for the base. The bow stamp from GKD  Joyful Holiday was heat embossed with Gold EP.  

The second card was inked with DOI Candied Apple, Fired Brick, and Worn Lipstick and has a card base of GKD Faded Brick CS. The ornament hook and string from GKD Merry and Bright set was heat embossed with Gold EP and I added a Gold Twine bow.

For both cards, I embellished the ornaments with touches of Glimmering Gold Foil using  a Deco Foil Adhesive pen and laminator.  These cards were hard to photograph to capture the foil but hope you can see the results.

Challenges:
ModSquad Challenge: Step Up Your Stencil. Use a stencil on your card front, and then take it up a notch by embellishing it.  I used foiling to embellish the stencil designs.

To Brighten Your Day

Hello!  I have another card made with the sketch from Creative Confetti challenge shown below. This time I used Power Poppy's stamps from Poppies clear stamp set. I colored the Poppies with Copics on a white card stock panel that I trimmed and attached to patterned paper from the Blank Canvas pad from 1st Editions Papers. I let some of the flowers extend over the edges. I used a shiny organza ribbon and hand made double bow to complete the design. I am pleased with the finished card.

Wishes with Camellias

Hello! Hope all is well with you.  Today I am sharing a card that I made with a sketch from Creative Confetti challenge using Power Poppy stamps from Simply Camellias set.  I stamped the camellias with Memento black ink and colored with Copics.   I edged the top and bottom of the trimmed image with a Copic marker and attached to patterned paper from My Mind's Eye Unforgettable pad. Finished with yellow satin ribbon and bow and sentiment.  This will probably be used for a birthday card.

Friends are Flowers

Hello! It seems that I have been using a lot of digital images lately.  When I used pre-colored images, I feel like I am cheating since they make card making so quick and easy.  For this card, I printed out this Bucket of Sunflowers from Beccy's Place and teamed it with a digital sentiment from Whimsey Stamps.  I trimmed the corners with a corner punch and attached to a dry embossed yellow mat and then to a Purple card base. Finished with a twine bow that I hand made.

Merriest Wishes

Welcome!  I was playing with Power Poppy digital images from the Merriest Berries set (which I have never used) and came up with a couple of one layer cards. I printed the images and sentiments on GKD heavyweight white card stock which is perfect for coloring with Copics because there is absolutely no bleeding on this paper.  And that makes for a great luxury weight card. I used Glossy Accents on the berries for some shine and texture.   I also used Sakura Clearstar and Gel pens on the thread in the ribbon but those elements do not show well in the photos.  But the richness, shine, and texture shows great in real life on what I think are very elegant CAS cards.

Quick Cards from Stash

Hello!  I am sharing 4 Christmas cards that were quick and easy to make because I used Patterned papers and die cuts with no stamping involved.  For the top card, I trimmed a Patterned Paper from a stash of magazine freebies, embossed it with Divine Swirls EF, and inked the edges with Gold Pilot Marker.  Wrapped the panel with Gold Metallic ribbon and tied on a bow. Added this to a card base of Shimmery Pink CS. Finished with Cheery Lynn die cut words of Gold Metallic CS.

This card uses more of the Patterned Paper on a Gold Metallic card base with the same ribbon and die cut words.

For this card I used Pattern Paper accented with silver foil snowflakes.  I inked the edge of the panel with a Silver Metallic Pilot Marker and popped up die cut snowflakes(backed with white foam) from Silver Metallic CS.  Finished with Cheery Lynn die cut words that I cut from White CS that I heat embossed with Silver EP.

This is another version of the card directly above but used Silver Metallic CS for the words along with die cut snowflakes. All 4 cards were created with scraps of Metallic CS.  Dies for snowflakes were from Cheery Lynn Build a Flower  and an Unknow Freebie.

Using Scraps and Stash

 Welcome!  I have some more Christmas cards using scraps and items from stash.   For the top card I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches as inspiration for the layout.  I cut strips from scraps of designer patterned paper with gold foil dots on pink.  I stamped the wreath from an old Flourishes set on glossy CS with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold EP and colored with 2 Pink Copics.  I trimmed with a Spellbinders circle die and attached to a Metallic Gold circle also cut with Spellbinders die.  I assembled the card with a card base of white CS but colored the edges with the same 2 Pink Copics to match wreath.  Added an embossed panel ( Cuttlebug Bubbles EF)  of GKD Metallic Gold CS with the strips,  image, and Cheery Lynn die cut words. Finished with a metallic gold bow.

This card was created with the same patterned paper and gold Metallic  paper as above but on ivory CS base.  The panel of gold metallic paper was embossed with Darice Santa Sleigh  EF. The sentiment from an old Annabelle set was heat embossed with Gold EP. Used more of the Metallic Gold ribbon to finish.

Christmas Lantern

Hello!  I am sharing another Christmas card today.  I was inspired to make this by a Photo Challenge but I missed posting the card in time for that one but I found other challenges to enter.  I stamped the lantern stamp from my stash on white CS with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Red and Green and other Copics and a Silver pen.   Added some sparkle to the flame and poinsettia center with Stickles. Added some die cut branches from Green CS and a red satin bow to the top of the lantern.  Finished the card with a GKD Sentiment stamped in Red ink and a Dotted ribbon that I attached to a Red card base. Die from Impression Obsession -used only part of the branch.  I think the red bow was a perfect touch for the card.

Summer Time Colors

Welcome! I have another card made with Block Watercoloring Stamping.  I used Distress Inks Fossilized Amber, Dried Marigold, and Abandoned Coral  with Watercolor paper to create the background.  I stamped Hero Arts' stamps from Summer Flowers and heat embossed with White EP. Tore the edges before attaching to a Coral Mat and Bright Yellow card base.  Finished with a Double bow of White Satin ribbon.

Bee Happy

Hello!  I am  trying to enter some of June's challenges before time runs out.  Making up for some time that I missed making cards lately.  And I did have some problems with cards automatically showing on Facebook via Net Work Blogs but that seems to have been corrected.

This card is made with Power Poppy Pure Prairie Bouquet digital stamp.  After printing the image I colored with Copics and simply placed on a Green CS mat and a base of Purple CS.  I threaded the ribbon through slits and tied into a bow before attaching to the mat.  I stamped the Power Poppy sentiment from Geraniums set with SU Always Artichoke ink. Since I wanted a bee on my card I printed just the bee from PP Bees in Foxglove digital set ....fussy cut, colored and glued to the finish card. It would have been easier if I had thought to print the bee with the image of the bouquet but I like doing things the hard way!  Thought I needed that Bee with Be Happy sentiment.

Vintage Santa

Hello!  Sometimes a card comes together so quick and easy and some of the simplest cards are the hardest.  This one was very easy once I found the digital vintage image from TLC by Paulette that I had stored in my files.  I printed the image on white CS and after I trimmed it with a white margin, I distressed the margin with Distress Ink Antique Linen and the edges with a distressing tool.  I found just the right Pattern Paper from an old Webster's Pages pad and used a mossy green card base.  I wrapped the Coppery Gold Organza ribbon around the image before attaching to the base.  Something about this ribbon was just perfect in my eyes.  I was not going to add a verse but remembered this stamp from Gina K Designs Joy and Peace set and thought it had a vintage ring to it.  I stamped in the upper corner...perfect fit...with SU Always Artichoke ink.  I plan to use this image for more cards but will try using water color paper to see if I like better.

Buttons and Bow Birthday

Hello!  I have a lot of ribbon, buttons, and pattern papers in my stash so I decided to use these items to create this square birthday card.  It seems that I use less ribbon and buttons these days....how about you?
I  cut a Pattern Paper from Graphic 45 A Ladies Diary pad (have been hoarding this paper) with a Cheery Lynn English Tea Party Doily.  I placed this on a square Ivory CS that I embossed with Embossalicious Diesire Splendor EF.  I layered this with more of the Ivory CS that I edged with a Copic Marker BG72. To finish I added Happy Birthday cut with Cheery Lynn dies, a handmade bow of Ivory Grosgrain Ribbon, and some buttons that I thought were perfect for the corners.  Buttons were saved from an old dress.

How to Measure Life?

 

Inside

 Hello!  My card was made with a Repeat Impressions verse stamp that I used a portion on the front and stamped the balance of the words for the inside using Memento Toffee Crunch ink. For the layout I used Tuesday Morning sketch challenge with a yellow Card Base and a Layer of Patterned Paper from Crate Paper DIY collection.  The "Doily" was a pre cut design from the same collection and I used a circle die to cut some of the same pattern for the inside.  The sentiment was die cut with rectangle die for the front and a circle die for the inside.   I finished the card with Yellow Satin Ribbon and a button from stash.   The button  was already threaded in the perfect color.....must have been recycled from a garment.

Lovely Lilacs

Hello!  Lilacs are such a beautiful and fragrant blossom.  We have a Lilac bush but it does not bloom every year....not very dependable.  I printed Power Poppy's digital image of Lilacs in bloom on white CS and colored with Copics.  The Power Poppy Sentiment was stamped with Memento Pear Tart ink.  I place this on an embossed layer of the same green color and on a card base of Bazzill Lilac textured CS.  Finished with a lovely satin ribbon that I won in a challenge and a handmade bow.
Don't you love the little ladybug on the leaf?...part of the stamp.

Jingle All the Way

Hello!  I am playing today with a Christmas card made with bells, plaid, and jingles.  I cut the bells on the Cameo from Gold Metallic CS and added some plaid paper from my stash.  I printed the digital sentiment from Meljens Designs on white CS and attached that to a layer of the Plaid Pattern.  I attached the Bells with pop up foam and added a Gold Organza bow to complete the card for the following challenges:
