All About Circles

Hello! Back with another quick post.   This card was made with a Pumpkin stamp from Repeat Impressions that I stamped with Memento Tangelo ink on white card stock and fussy cut.  I simply attached a panel of orange and white dotted pattern paper from stash to a white card base and stamped a GKD sentiment with  the orange ink and heat embossed with clear EP.  I attached the pumpkin and glued on some orange dots punched with a hole punch.  Made it look like one of those fancy designer pumpkins! Easy, peasy!

Thanksgiving Modern Grid

Welcome to the studio.  Today I have a Grid Card for the  Modsquad Challenge- make a modern grid on your background.  The header for the challenge said "Floral" but the challenge did not call for this to be a floral card? This is my first attempt to make this type card where you draw grid lines skipping over the focal image.  I decided to go with a Thanksgiving theme for my card.  I used only Gina K Stamps, actually used stamps from 9 different GKD sets.  I used pumpkins as my focus and included fall items pinecone, acorn, caterpillar, and abstract designs and some doodles as well. Colored with Copics, Memento inks, and DOI.  It took longer to find the stamps that I used than to make the card. Finished with some Dewdrops.
The GKD sets that I used: Always Autumn, Seasonal Sentiments, Holiday Wreath Builder, Tiny Textures, A Year Of Flowers, A Year of Leaves, Buds & Vases, Candles & Cake, Gifts of the Sea.

Other Challenges:

Playing With Fall Leaves

Hello!  The first card shown is made with older Gina K Design stamps from 2009 - leaf from Signs of Autumn set and sentiment from Life is Good set. I used Memento Markers Cantaloupe, Potter's Clay, Dandelion, and Pear Tart to ink up the leaf 4 times and stamped on White CS.  Sentiment stamped in Potter's Clay.  Added some scoring on outer edge of panel with image and also inked the edges.  Used white card base.

I inked stamps with Memento Markers, stamped the leaves and sentiment, and did scoring.

My second card uses 2 leaf stamps from GKD Signs of Autumn set (2009) and a sentiment from GKD Always Autumn( 2014).   I stamped the leaves randomly with Memento Potter's Clay, Rhubarb Stalk, Morocco, and Tangelo inks.   Used a card base of Tomato Soup and mat of Sweet Mango(?) both GKD CS. Matted the stamped sentiment with the same CS's and tied on a brown twine from Jellibean Soup.

Made with Real Leaves

Hello!  When I saw the inspiration photo at All the Little Things challenge, I immediately thought of  some patterned paper that I created a few years ago by collecting fall leaves, arranging them on my scanner, scanning them and printing my own paper design.  I made the quick  and easy card  by simply adhering a panel of the paper on an Orange Card base and attached words cut from Brown CS with Cheery Lynn designs.  I don't think this will be considered a real entry for the challenges but just wanted to share how you can make your own pattern paper with Little Things from Nature.

Falling Leaves

Hello!  The leaves have being falling really fast with the rain and wind that we have had in the last few days.  Just waiting for them to dry before raking begins. But in the meantime, I made this card with falling leaves.  I used SU More Mustard, Old Olive, and Really Rust Reinkers and Ink pads with an old PSX Leaf Stamp and a GKD Splatter stamp.  I also did some water coloring on the leaves with a water brush and added some gold to the edges with a Pilot Gold Marker The MFP Stamp was heat embossed with Gold EP. A Grass Green card base and a layer of pattern paper from my stash finished the card.

Chevron Pumpkins

Welcome!   I have another Pumpkin card.  I found this pumpkin stamp from the past and just had to ink for this quick and simple card.  The stamp is unmarked but I think it is from PSX.   I stamped the Pumpkins twice with Memento Espresso Truffle ink - once on a creamy paper and once on orange CS. I colored the vines and stems with Copics and fussy cut the orange pumpkins.  I embossed the pumpkins with a Chevron EF and inked the raised stripes with Brilliance Platinum Planet ink before attaching to card.  The verse is form GKD and stamped with SU Always Arthichoke ink.  I finished the card with an Orange card base and a couple of Dew Drops.  I love how the texture of the Pumpkins pop out of the photo.
Challenges:
The Card Concept: #60 Chevron Pumpkin.  I consider the style of this card Clean and Layered as I used paper piecing and embossing with some embellishments.

Pumpkins for Thanksgiving

I'm back!  Again I am playing with the Carved Wood Background technique that I saw here on Stamp TV.  You make a wood grain design on cardstock with scoring and inks and then emboss with an EF and then wipe with white pigment ink to get the final result.  This is a second card for the WCMD challenge at Gina K Design.  I thought I could improve on my first try at this technique.

Supplies: GKD White, Ivory, and Brown  CS; Stamp-Gina K Always Autumn and Signs of Autumn; Inks-Morocco, Memento Rich Cocoa and Desert Sand, Brilliance Moonlight White; Copics; Cuttlebug EF Victoria.

Challenges:

Happy Thanksgiving

Hello! Today I am sharing a card that I made using an already colored Dearie Doll digital image.  Uncolored images are also available but I went the easy (lazy) way and the colors are so bright and perfect.   This card was so easy to create I almost feel guilty that I did not work that much.  I simply printed the image on white CS and trimmed with Spellbinders Divine Eloquence die and placed on a orange mat and then a brown CS base. I stamped the MFP Happy Thanksgiving with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.   Even the die cutting was easy since I used dryer sheets with my die and the pieces popped right out.  Have you tried that easy step?

Challenges:
Cards in Envy: Put some extra layers on.  My card does not have that many layers but the image is wearing a jacket.
Die Cuttin Divas: #242  is Thanksgiving. Used Spellbinders Die.
Tuesday Throwdown: #271 challenge is Shopping Spree.  My card shows some Pumpkin Shoppers.
Simon Monday Challenge:  Challenge is Thanks/Thanksgiving
Shopping Our Stash: #228 Challenge is make a Thank You or Thanksgiving.

Wishing everyone a great  and blessed Thanksgiving!

Colors and Patterns Challenge

Hello!  The challenge at The Shabby Tea Room for week #262 is Colors and Patterns  shown in the graphic on the right.   When I saw the colors, I thought of a Thanksgiving card and pulled out polka dot and chevron patterns to use on rectangles --the shape inspired by the shapes of the bottles. The pine cones in the photo reminded me of an Embossing Folder Pine Branches by Darice.
I began the card by embossing a Ecru Glossy card stock and inking the raised designs with Memento Rich Cocoa and Tangelo inks. I cut the strips of Pattern Paper from Echo Park and created the chevron pattern by embossing a strip of the Ecru glossy paper and inking the surface. I fussy cut another pine cone using the EF and attached to the lower corner.  I cut the words with Cheery Lynn Dies to finish the card.  I think I managed to capture some of the colors and patterns from the inspiration.

Thanksgiving Card

Hello!  The month of September has flown by and Thanksgiving will soon be here.  I made this quick card focusing on some pattern paper printed from GKD Digital paper pack All About Autumn.  I have many digital papers but  forget to use. I placed the pattern on a card base of Dark Brown CS and then added a strip  with a border of Fall Acorns and Leaves that was embossed with Ranger Embossing Pearl Gold. The stamp is from GKD A Year of Borders by Melanie.  The sentiment from GKD Always Autumn by Theresa was embossed in the same way on a Rectangle die cut with Nestabilities.

I did another version of this card for Stamp TV Challenge Mix It Up  Monday Falling Leaves using a verse from GKD A Year of Leaves by Melanie shown on left.

What a Turkey?

I am back with another card using my fingerprints and a thumbprint for the center. The One Layer challenge at Less is More this week is to Adapt a Fingerprint. I decided to make a turkey....saw this on the web.   I used Memento inks Rich Cocoa, Peanut Brittle, Tangelo, and Cantaloupe. Colored eyes and beak with Glaze pens.    I finished with a sentiment from Creative Visions double stamped with Potter's Clay and Rich Cocoa inks.

Signing off with inky fingers.
