Friends are Flowers

Hello! It seems that I have been using a lot of digital images lately.  When I used pre-colored images, I feel like I am cheating since they make card making so quick and easy.  For this card, I printed out this Bucket of Sunflowers from Beccy's Place and teamed it with a digital sentiment from Whimsey Stamps.  I trimmed the corners with a corner punch and attached to a dry embossed yellow mat and then to a Purple card base. Finished with a twine bow that I hand made.

Walking in the Rain

Hello! We have had so much rain this month and also snow.  I decided to make a card with a rainy theme.  I found this digital image from Sparkle and Sprinkle in my files and teamed it up with a digital sentiment from Piece of Heart.  After printing both on a white card stock, I colored the image with Copics.  I decided that I wanted to show a shower of flowers rather than raindrops so I added small die cut flowers (leftovers from a frame die cut).  Used a bright yellow card base.
Thought of my sister when I made this card.....she too has had a lot of rainy days this month in Tennessee.  Guess this is my way to share a walk with her.

It's the Sentiment That Counts

This card is for the Mod Squad Challenge - Make sentiment the main focal point.  I have several great sentiments from the sponsor Power Poppy.  It was just a matter of choosing one for my card.  I decided on this one from her Berry It Digi stamps.  I printed it, framed it with a green mat and used a "berry" red card base.  Actually the sentiment is beneath a die cut in the front of the base card.   I printed the Berry Image much smaller than the actual size, colored it with Copics, and fussy cut it.  Attached it with foam tape.  Embossed a row of dots on the lower edge of the card.  Might use this for a birthday if I added a birthday greeting inside. You think??

Have Some Ice Cream

Welcome!  What is better on a HOT day than a dish of COLD ice cream?  I am serving up some with From The Heart digital stamps Ice Cream Lineup and their Sketch Challenge 157 using their twist: Make it Sparkle.  I printed the servings of ice cream on white CS and colored with Copics  and added some Stickles and Liquid Pearls plus a sprinkling of Sugar Sprinkles(Wilton).  Also used a bit of Glossy Accents.  I drew circles around each with Black Pen after trimming out the images.  I used some old striped Glitter Paper by DCWV (from stash) for the background and finished with a sentiment from the same digital set.  As you can see I rotated the sketch to make a horizontal card.

Ice Cream for Dad

 

 Hello! Are you enjoying the warm weather?  How about some ice cream?  That is what I am sharing today for Father's Day on my card for From the Heart challenges.  I have use their digital stamp and sentiment from this month's free stamp Ice Cream Lineup. Please check here for details on their free monthly stamps.  After printing the digis on white CS, I colored with Copics and added Glossy Accents and Stickles for shine and texture.   I used From the Heart's  I (heart) Sketch #156(below) for my layout but gave it a turn.   Happy Father's Day was printed on computer.

Tweet Card!

Hello! I have been busy outside the last few days but took time to make a card using From the Heart digital stamps from Apple Blossoms Birds.   After printing the image, I colored it with Copics and fussy cut leaving a white outline. Following the I (heart) Sketch with a tWist # 154 I created my design . The twist  is to show off your coloring skills.  I actually used  coloring skills with Copics on the image  but also colored a white ribbon with a blue copics to match the birds and also colored the edges of the white card base with the same blue. I assembled the card using pattern paper from Graphic 45, the image, and ribbons from my stash.    The From the Heart Digi sentiment was printed with the computer.

Colorful Flowers

Hello!  I am enjoying the beautiful colorful flowers of this spring.   Today I am sharing a card made with From the Heart digital stamps Painting Ladybug and used their current Sketch Challenge #153...we are to use the sketch and /or twist of fussy cutting.  I only used the sketch.  I printed the sentiment using Photoshop to color and rearrange the words.
Other supplies used: White, Green and Ivory CS, GCD Studio pattern papers, Circle Dies, Red Satin Ribbon, Copics.

Piggy in a Planter

Hello! Today I have a card made with From the Heart stamp of the month Hamlet PigWit in the Planter.  I received this stamp for participating in last month's challenge.  Check out how you can participate in their challenges for free digis on their blog.  After printing this digital image and sentiment, I colored with Copics and Glaze Pens and assembled the card with a white card base and panels of Graphic 45 Secret Garden pattern papers.  I used the From the Heart sketch shown below.  I added an Orange Butterfly button from my stash.

How Old?

Hello! I have been playing with  From the Heart Digi stamps and Washi tape for the I (heart) Sketches with a Twist #148 sketch challenge. The twist is to add Washi tape.  The Surprised Birdbrain and Sentiment were printed and colored with Copics and a bit of Blue Glitter Gelly pen on the eyes.  Instead of matting the image, I wrapped some of the GKD Washi tape around the edges that  I also used on the card.  I happened, just by accident, to find a MME pattern paper that I thought coordinated well with the tape and the colors that I used. Arranged this on a Grass Green Card Base.  I was pleased at how this card came together.

Dog Gone Card

Hello!  I am anxious to get outside because our weather is so beautiful!  I too want to go dig in the dirt. So this will be a very quick post.  I  missed the sketch challenge deadline at From the Heart but this card qualifies for the challenge at The House Stamps built which is Who Let the Dogs Out?

Have A Mice Day!

Hello!  This card made my DH laugh so I guess he is having a Mice Day?   I made this for the Sketch Challenge #144 at From The Heart which has a Twist to Make a Masculine card.  You can use the sketch or the twist or use both.   I selected some patterns and colors which I think are masculine and with the sketch, I featured the digital stamps from Mouse Balloon set which was a freebie at From The Heart shop.  I printed the mouse on white CS and colored him (yes, he is a masculine mouse) with Copics and sponged with Memento Peanut Brittle ink.  I cut this with a Spellbinder circle die with the balloon extended.  I added some glossy accents to the balloon.  I assembled the card with a Rust CS Card Base, a layer of BasicGrey Pattern Paper chosen because of the mice in the pattern, the printed From the Heart Sentiment, and a strip of dry embossed Yellow Gold CS.  I finished with a cutout from the pattern paper showing the mice.

First Day of Spring

Hello!  Today is the first day of spring!!  I love gardening especially in the spring.  This is a cute little dog on my card but I better not find him digging up my daffodils and tulips!  But he seems to know that it is spring! I have used digital stamps by From the Heart "Digging Dog" set which is the stamp of the month.  If you enter From the Heart stamp of the month's challenge, you will receive next month’s digi free. Check here for details.  I used a sketch from Tuesday Morning Challenge for my design.

Kisses of Snowflakes

Hello!  I was thinking about the snow at home and Valentine's when I created this card  using this month's free stamp by From the Heart Stamps for their digital stamp of the month challenge. This is a progressive challenge, meaning you need to play along to receive the next image for free, so be sure to read the rules so that you don’t miss out on any freebies.  I used the image from Snowman and Cocoa and a sentiment from another of their stamps.  I printed the image and colored with Copics  and added some stickles and Lip "sequins" from my stash.   I thought the sentiment went nicely with my theme.   And the card could be used as a Valentine??

Jingle All the Way

Hello!  I am playing today with a Christmas card made with bells, plaid, and jingles.  I cut the bells on the Cameo from Gold Metallic CS and added some plaid paper from my stash.  I printed the digital sentiment from Meljens Designs on white CS and attached that to a layer of the Plaid Pattern.  I attached the Bells with pop up foam and added a Gold Organza bow to complete the card for the following challenges:

Warm Winter Wishes

Hello!  I have been MIA for a week because I was in Tennessee visiting my Mother who has a birthday next week and will be 96 years young.  I may send this card to her since the weather has been unusually cold for Tennessee.  It could also be a Valentine to send her later.
I made this card for the sketch inspiration From the Heart blog using digis from Snowman Valentine.  We have the option to use the Twist of Dots and Stripes with the Sketch.

Purple and Poppies

Hello!  I have been playing with some digital images that I received from Crafty Secrets.... I just love their flower images....and chose a Poppy image and sentiment for my design.  I used both the sketch and photo inspiration from Fusion shown below.  The image was colored with Copics and some Glaze Pens and then trimmed with an Oval die.  I placed this on a scalloped oval of Purple CS which I also used as the Card Base. The background of a soft ivory paper was embossed with CB EF Kassie's Brocade.  I finished with a Mini Fanciful Flourish cut with Cheery Lynn die and the printed sentiment cut with a Spellbinders die .  Love how this card "pops" out.

Birds All A Glitter

Hello!  I am not a glitter kind of crafter.....too messy.....but for the Mod Squad Challenge I decided to use some glitter to bring Sparkle to my Card.  I printed Birds on a Wire and a Sentiment digitals from Sparkle and Sprinkle Bird Song Digital file that I won from a challenge on Mod Squad.   I actually recolored the birds to red before printing on White CS.  I added Gina K Prismatic Red Hot Glitter to the birds and colored beaks and feet with Orange glaze pen.  I simply finished by adding to a Red Card Base.

Sunflower Power

Today, I am playing with a new Digital Image from Power Poppy called Sunflower Power.  I colored this with Copics Y17,23,26, G21, YG63,  E15,17, 27 and trimmed with a Spellbinder die.  I also printed the sentiment from this set and cut with Circle Die.  I assembled the card with Pattern Papers from Fancy Pants Happy Go Lucky pad, a Brown Organza Ribbon, and White card base.  This image was so much fun to color.  I purchased it as soon as was released a few days ago. 

On Facebook,  Rhea at Passionate Paper Creations is having a coloring contest  to use Sunflower Poppy and she has some great prizes. Check it out here.  I am entering this card with the hope to wish.

Spring Lilacs

Hello! I used Power Poppy Digital stamps French Lilac and Sentiment from Geraniums Digi  for this card.   I water colored the Lilacs printed on water color paper with Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Broken China,  Forest Moss, and Brushed Corduroy. Added a hint of lavender with Hero Arts Water Marker.  I fussy cut the Flower and attached with foam tape to an embossed layer of a Pattern Paper from Our Daily Bread designs Shabby Rose Collection The sentiment printed on the same paper was cut with Nesties circle die and matted with a Circle of Green CS. The Card Base is GKD Fresh Asparagus CS.  Finished with Green Raffia Ribbon.
Other supplies used: Red Glaze Pen and Glossy Accents on ladybug, Cuttlebug EF Divine Swirls.

Fancy Old Fashion Ornament

Today's Christmas card is made with pre-colored Doodle Pantry Ornament digital image, but I did add some gold color with a Copic and some shine with Clear Star Pen. I use Pilot Gold Marker to edge the image. Ivory Card Base is layered with Gold Metallic CS,  Stripe Pattern Paper and then the image with a printed digital sentiment also Doodle Pantry.
