Fall Leaves

Hello! I made this card a few days ago and forgot to post so I will do so now.  For the background I used a sheet of Gina K Designs Foil mates which I blended with Distress Oxide inks.  I tried to adhere foil to the design but for some reason I was not successful doing that. I stamped and embossed leaves and a sentiment form GKD Skeleton Leaves set (year 2018) on a panel of white cardstock. Used gold EP with Versamrk ink.  I inked the edges of both panels with Pilot Gold Metallic marker before assembling on a card base of Warm Cocoa GKD Cardstock.

Pattern on Pattern

Hello! Back again today with another post.  It has been awhile since I entered Tuesday Morning Sketch so I made this card from some fall papers that I had on my desk. They are from a paper pad The Simple Things from GKD.  I had the papers for some time and thought I would put to good use. I used 2 of the patterns layering one die cut with an oval die over a panel of the darker pattern. I stamped some leaves using GKD stamps from A Year Of Leaves and Skeleton Leaves on scraps from a gold card stock, fussy cut them, and inked the edges before arranging on the card. Used DOI Wild Honey for stamping and coloring on the leaves.  Finished with a sentiment from Skeleton Leaves stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa on scrap of turquoise paper matted on  a gold strip.  For fun I fussy cut some acorns from the pattern and added to the sentiment.

Note: I did not realize my card was so similar to Angela's card at Tuesday Morning until I was writing my post. Maybe I saw her card when I first read the challenge and it stuck in my mind?? And I thought I had an original design but it looks like I cased Angela unintentionally.

Autumn Card

Welcome to my studio!  Today I am sharing a card that I made using digital stamps from Autumn's Gift Set by Beverly Cole at The Artsystamper ShopUsing Photoshop I arranged the Pumpkin and Leaf stamps with sentiment(in brown) and printed on Ivory CS. I added a bit more orange with Copics to the colored images and sponged the edges of the panel with DOI Antique Linen. Attached to a card base of Dark Brown CS.  I am entering this in the Monochromatic Challenge #3 at Artsystamper Digitals Challenges - use any color, as long as it is only 1 color plus natural beiges and tans or black and white. Maybe I should have used another color for the base?

Happy Fall Y'all

Welcome!  While I was going through my leftover box of fall items I came across some leaves that I had stamped and stashed away. The maple leaf is an old stamp from PSX and the oak one is Rubber Stampede.  I think I used SU inks to color the leaves before stamping on White CS.  I fussy cut the found leaves and attached to a white panel that I embossed with Darice EF. I stamped the panel with an old SU Stamp with Memento ink.  I inked the white edges with green.  Added this to a tag cut from a scrap of dark red card stock. Punched a hole and finished with a green ribbon from stash that I inked the edges with a Red Copic to tie in with colors of the leaves.

Happy Fall to Y'all

Hello! Yesterday was the first day of fall and the leaves are already falling even before they change colors.  I created the background for this card using leaves from my yard (actually did this a few years ago).  I placed the leaves on a printer and scanned them to a file on my computer....sort of created my own digital patterned paper.  Took a few trials before I got them arranged to my liking.  To make my card I just printed the leaves on a white card stock. Trimmed the image and attached it to a layer of Yellow CS inked with a wine Copics.  I used a card base of Gold Yellow CS.  For the focus of my card, I stamped a sentiment from Gina K Designs A Year of Leaves (2009) set with Distress Ink Aged Mahogany on a panel of the Gold CS  and distressed the edges with the same ink.

Falling Leaves

Welcome to the studio!  Today I am playing with the challenge #119 at Retro Rubber to use fall colors orange, red, and brown in a card using a stamp older than 1 year old.  I used GKD stamps from A Year of Leaves set that is dated 2009.  I stamped leaves and a sentiment using DOI Vintage Photo and Fired Brick on water color paper and used a water brush to color the leaves with DOI Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick and Walnut Stain.  I attached to a card base of GKD Dark Chocolate CS.  After making the top photo of my card,  I decided to add some splashes of color and made a second photo.  Not sure which I like the best but the top one is more CAS.
Challenges:

Leaf as a Stamp

Hello!  The other day I saw a video with Gina K using actual leaves and Distress Oxide inks to make cards.  It reminded me of doing that several years ago as well as scanning leaves to create my own digital papers.  This week I picked up some leaves (boy was it cold outside!) and pulled out some distress oxide inks to play with.   To make the card shown above, I used a Coleus leaf (pictured below) with Twisted Citron and Aged Mahogany and white cardstock.  I added the word Thanks with a Repeat Impressions stamp and the Aged Mahogany ink.  Placed this on card base of GKD Faded Brick CS. A quick and easy card and certainly one of a kind.
Challenges:

As You Like It Challenge: Clean and Simple or  Fussy and Fancy and Why?  I seem to have gravitated to Clean and Simple more lately...like to focus on the images and the coloring.

Fall Leaves with Thanks

Hello!  I am back with another card today.   This one was inspired by the Sketch Challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I changed directions several times in designing this card.  First I started with sunflowers or fall flowers in mind but changed my mind when I pulled out this old pattern paper called Fall Leaves Aswirl that I bought at Joann's years ago.  I then planned to use some die cut leaves that I had leftover but then decided to use some of the leaves from the paper cut out with a square die and matted with some scallop edged squares.  My focal is a leaf stamp from GKD Signs of Autumn colored with Markers and Copics after I stamped with DOI Vintage Photo on white CS.  Added some Versamark ink and embossed with Clear EP.  Then I sponged with DOI Twisted Citron and edged with Brown ink.  Assembled the card with Gold card base and all the elements and mats.  Finished with some of those die cut leaves that I still had leftover ….stamped GKD Thanks on one and tied 2 together with orange twine.

Twofer Challenge

Hello!  The first day of fall will soon be here and brings thoughts of colorful falling leaves.   I made 2 cards using a Gina K leaf stamp from A Year of Leaves for the current challenge at Twofer Card Challenge which is to use the same leaf or leaves stamp or die on two cards for two different occasions.  The first card uses pattern paper and the leaf stamped with DOI Walnut Stain on assorted colors of card stock and cut with a Gina K leaf die. Arranged the die cut leaves into a wreath on die cut circles.  Finished the thank you card with sentiment from Gina K A Year of Leaves stamped with Distress Ink Walnut Stain on white strip layered brown strip

For the second card, I stamped the leaf stamp 5 times with the same ink on white CS and colored with  Copics in fall colors. Added the sentiment (A Year of Leaves) and  splatters with  Gina K stamps. Used Honey Mustard CS for the card base.  My card will be used for a fall  occasion.

I used Memento Markers Cantaloupe, Potter's Clay, Dandelion, and Pear Tart to ink up the leaf 4 times and stamped on White CS.  Sentiment stamped in Potter's Clay.  Added some scoring on outer edge of panel with image and also inked the edges.  Used white card base.

Happy Bear in the Leaves

Hello! The sentiment is an old Stampin Up stamp inked in Distress Oxide ink.   Used Rust CS from stash as base.

Oldies but Goodies

Hello!  Another card made with scrap of  pattern paper from stash and a very old stamp Fall Leaf Pattern, this one from All Night Media.   I teamed this with a GKD stamp from A Year of Leaves.   I inked a white CS with Distress Oxide ink Twisted Citron and Fossilized Amber and stamped and water-colored the leaves with several Distress Oxide inks.  Added some gold to the leaves with metallic marker. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on a strip of Vellum and embossed with Gold EP.  I assembled the card with a Orange Card Base, with HFC pattern paper, and a Gold Metallic frame.

Bird Cage Planter

Welcome!  The inspiration for my card today comes from the Photo for Just Us Girls Challenge shown below.  I was reminded of  Dies for a Bird Cage and Tropical Leaves that I have and used them to create this card.  I thought of seeing old bird cages being used as a planter.  Washi Tapes (colors from the photo) were used as stripes on lower edge.  Other supplies: GKD Stamps, Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Ink, Clear EP,  Cheery Lynn Tropical Leaves and Olive Branch Dies, Marianne Dies, White CS, Blue CS's, Scraps of Green CS's.
For a touch of whimsy, I added a die cut bird looking up at his cage wondering "What happened to my house?"
