Birthday with Roses

Welcome to my studio!  My CAS card today features embossing that I did with a Spellbinders die from Devine Eleoquence  on a panel of white card stock. This created a frame for the stamp from GKD Tropical Blooms set that is dated 2018. I stamped the roses with Memento Black Ink and colored with Copics and Pencils. The words from the set stamp set were inked with Memento Bamboo Leaves. Finished with Green card base.

I finally bit the bullet and gave in to using the new Blogger.

Luckily I had no trouble and it was not to figure out.

Sunflowers Brighten the Day

I have so many favorite flowers and one of them is beautiful Sunflowers... big glorious colorful ones. I am not sure if they are considered summer or fall but they are great for transitioning into the fall season.  I created this card using 2 digital images from Power Poppy Sunflower Power set that I arranged and printed on white card stock. I added a frame so that the image was in and out of the frame.....did with a Black Pen and a straight edge.  (I tried to add the frame using Photoshop Elements the way that Julie did for her challenge but I gave up and took an easy way.) I colored the image with Copics.  I stamped a sentiment from Power Poppy Peony Muse set with Versamark and first heat embossed with Chestnut EP. Then I did a second embossing with Gold Metallic EP because I did not have enough contrast between the frame and the words.  I like the results and also glad that I stamped the sentiment so that it was also in and out of the frame. Finished with a card base of GKD  Faded Brick CS. My DH said this card was "strong".

Leftovers Served for Christmas Cards

Hello! Today I have 2 Christmas cards both using die cuts and negative space leftover from die cuts. 

The top card uses the negative leftover from white card stock that I cut with a GKD Christmas word die.  I trimmed the white panel and placed over a strip of Glimmering Gold foil that I had left from another project.  I inked the edges with a Pilot Metallic Gold Marker. Added the word Merry that I die cut with a Cheery Lynn die from the same foil. Finished with a Red Velvet card base.  

The second card uses the leftover negative from a strip of the Glimmering Gold Foil that I placed on to a card base of White Cardstock with glue.  I cut a frame from Gold Metallic CS with rectangle dies and attached to the card. Finished with the word Merry cut with Cheery Lynn die from White CS. Edged the finished card with the Pilot Metallic Gold marker.
I created 2 simple and quick cards using leftovers and scraps.

A Girl in the Garden

Hello! Today I have a card for the current challenge #57  at The Library.  The book for this challenge is A Child's Garden of Verses shown below.  I was inspired by the cover layout and colors as well as the picture of the girl.  I treated the cover as if it were a sketch challenge for a card.  I printed out a digital image of a Flower Girl by Inger Harding from my files that I saved in 2010. I colored the image with Copics  and added some glitter gems to the flowers. Cut the image with an oval die and framed with a Yellow frame die cut with Cheery Lynn Swedish Spring Oval die. Finished with a sentiment from Power Poppy stamps die cut with circle dies. Used a  Blue card base.

As You Like It Challenge: Animals or People-which is your favorite and why?  I like to create cards with people although they are a challenge to color and I like to be challenged. But of course my favorite theme is flowers so I chose to use this flower girl.

Reflect on Past Cards

Hello! The January Monthly Mix Challenge at GKD is Let's Reflect.  We are to take a card we made last year and create a do over, an update or adjustment to it. Use at least one element from the old card to make a new one.  I chose the card below using the GKD rose stamp from Rose Bouquet that I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with different color Copics but trimmed with the same Oval die.  I layered the image on a Red Vellum layer die cut with Cheery Lynn Swedish Spring Oval Frame. Gold embossed  a sentiment from GKD Thank You Friend set.  Used the same card base of Fresh Asparagus GKD CS and rounded two corners with a Corner Punch.

Poinsettia with Watercoloring

Hello!  For this card I have used one of my oldest and favorite poinsettia stamps from PSX.  I think this may be the first time that I water colored it.   I used Distress Oxide ink Fired Brick to stamp the image on watercolor paper and used a water brush to color with  Fired Brick, Lucky Clover, Peeled Paint, and Fossilized Amber DOI.  I added some highlights to the center of the flowers with a Metallic Gold Gelly Roll pen.  I used Spellbinders Regal Frame dies to cut a frame from Fresh Asparagus CS and used a Shimmery Yellow Pearl CS as the card base.  The sentiment from GKD was stamped with SU Always Artichoke ink.

Zooming with Binoculars

Hello!  I was playing with the CAS Challenge at CASology to use the cue card Zoom and came up with this entry.   I thought of birdwatching which involves zooming in to see birds up close with binoculars  so I dug out some stamps that I have never used.  I used the Binocular stamp from Repeat Impressions, the Birds (part of a stamp) from Inkadinkado, and letters from an Alphabet Set by Fiskars all with black ink.   Framed the images with a Black CS mat and adhered to a White card base.  Added a bit of red and yellow with pencils to the black and white.

Vase of Red Tulips Framed with Teal

Second Post 

Welcome!   This card features a Repeat Impressions stamp  Vase of  Tulips that I inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white CS and colored with Copics.  I die cut the image with an oval die and then framed it with Teal CS cut with a fancy oval die.  I used a Red CS mat embossed with Cuttlebug  Polka Dots EF with a White Base card.  Added a teal tag cut with a die, tied with red twine, and stamped with Best Wishes to used for wedding wishes. White, Red, and Teal cardstocks from GKD.

Spring Tulips

 Hello!  Taking time out from spring chores to create a card for some of my favorite challenges.  This was made for the challenge at The House That Stamps Built using Repeat Impressions stamps Tulip Bouquet on the front and one of their sentiments inside.  I stamped the image with Memento Espresso Truffle and colored with Copics.  I used Spellbinders Divine Eloquence dies to cut the image on White CS and the frame from GKD Yellow CS and used GKD Green CS for the base. Finished with pearls colored pink with Copic marker.

Cardinal for the Holidays

 

Hello! Another Card for my Christmas card stash.  I chose a Cardinal stamp from Gina K Designs First Christmas set as the focus of my stamp.  After coloring the bird with Copics, I trimmed the image with a Spellbinders die and framed with Red CS also die cut with a lager die.  I inked the edges with Pilot Gold Metallic ink.  I assembled the card with a base of GKD Grass Green CS and a layer of Authentique Pattern Paper with a GKD ribbon of Red and Gold.  I finished with a Sentiment in Rhubarb Stalk ink, Gold Metallic Twine, and Red Rhinestones.

Bouquet of Sunflowers

This quick and simple CAS card was made with a Power Poppy digital stamp colored with Copics and placed on a card base of Brown CS with a mat of Authenique Pattern Paper.  The image was framed with Brown CS cut with Nesties oval dies.  I created the bouquet by using Photoshop to layering the flowers.  I think this makes a nice notecard or I can add a verse when sending the card for a specific occasion.

Blossoms and Butterfly

Hello! Today I am playing with some new stamps from Repeat Impressions that I won in July and today it's already September.....can you believe that?
I stamped the new Flower Power Frame with Memento Espresso Truffle ink and colored with Copics.  I stamped the center with a Repeat Impressions small Butterfly stamp that I also colored with Copics.  I die cut this with a Spellbinders die and edged it with a yellow Copic.  The RI sentiment was stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink and cut with a Spellbinder label die. I attached both die cuts on a MME Pattern Paper later and used a White card base.

Christmas Cardinal

Welcome friends!  Today I have an entry for Stamp TV's Mix It Up Monday Challenge for Judy's Challenge Splatter Matters....to use some type of splatter on your card.   I used glue for my splatter and then sprinkled on Stampendous crystal glitter on to give some sparkle and shine.   I colored my image stamped on watercolor paper with Distress Inks.  I pulled out a 5x7 mat that I had bought on clearance  and framed the cardinal with that and then added to Ivory CS card base.  I may decide to frame this and hang or I have the option to use as a card.  Below I am showing with a sentiment that I would use with the card option. (It is attached with removal tape in case I decide to frame).
