A Bouquet of Colors

Welcome to my studio!  I am showing a card that I made for the Creative Confetti Challenge which is a Tic Tac Toe one.  I chose the lower row across for my elements to use Emboss, Make It Sparkle, and Twine.  I began by stamping the bouquet from Power Poppy Countryside Bouquet set with Memento Peanut Brittle ink and coloring with Copics.  I trimmed the image with Lawn Fawn stitched circle die.  I attached this to a patterned paper from MME Notable pad that I embossed with Cuttlebug Wicker Weave EF for some texture. I just happened to find this colorful paper that seemed to go well with the colors in my bouquet.  Often times, I select the pattern first and select colors from it to use on my image. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Cottage Ivy ink, added some sparkle to the centers of the flower with Crystal Stickles and the buds(purple ones), and finished with a twine bow to tie the bouquet. Selected a precut turquoise card base that just happened to fit the design.

Christmas Wishes with a Wreath

Hello!  I have another Christmas card for my stash that I made with a Wreath and Sentiment stamp from Repeat Impressions.  I stamped the wreath with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics. I added shine to the ribbon with Sakura Stardust pen.  I cut the image with a Spellbinders round die and attached to a Green Cardstock circle cut with Lawn Fawn stitched die.  I place d this on a background of Polka Dot Patterned Paper and then a white card base. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed twice with Gold EP.

Playing With Acrylic Paints

 Hello! Hope your Monday is off to a good start.  Mine started with computer problems but I finally got Windows 10 to open.  I was playing with acrylic paints this week - the challenge at CAS Mix Up Card Challenge is to use Acrylic Paints.  I bought some acrylic paints years ago really cheap but never used them.  So I pulled them out after watching the video tutorials links on the challenge blog.
I made a background using white cardstock and 3 colors-green umber, orange, and marigold.  I die cut a circle with Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle die and heat embossed a sentiment stamp on the circle with Versamark ink and Wow Chestnut EP. I attached this to a dark brown card base embossed with Spellbinders EF.  I thought the background looked like an artsy looking sunrise.

For my second attempt at creating a background with acrylic paints, I used blue midnight, marigold and orange.  My results looked like a scene on the Serengeti so I heat embossed some Gina K Design stamps from Wild About You set to create a birthday card.  I tore the edges of the image and distressed the edges with a distress tool.  This would not be considered a CAS card but I like how it turned out.

Wreath with Holly

Hello!  I have yet another Christmas card with a wreath.  I made this some time ago but never posted. I used stamps from a Hero Arts monthly kit with red and green inks.  The sentiment was heat embossed with Silver EP.  The circle was die cut with a Lawn Fawn die.  I used a silver foiled Patterned Paper as the background  also from the kit and a glossy white card base.

Oopsy Daisy!

Hello! Today my card features daisies.  I was inspired by both the sketch and graphic shown below in the Fusion challenge.  I stamped a trio of Daisies (Mark's Finest Papers stamp) with Memento Toffee Crunch ink on white CS and fussy cut the flowers. Assembled the card using patterned papers from Graphics 45 Secret Garden pad on a white card base.  Embossed the blue panel with a Darice EF.  Die cut the open circle(Lawn Fawn Dies) and leaves (Sizzix Dies) from Green paper from the same pad. Stamped a Power Poppy sentiment on Vellum circle.  Assembled all the elements following the sketch. Added some Yellow Flower Soft to center of daisies.Note: Daisies are also on the yellow paper.

Circle Gatefold Card

 Hello! I have never made a circle gateway card …  always made them rectangle.  But I decided why not Round?   I used Simon Says Stamp Modern Flowers Card Wrap die to cut the "Gate" element from Pink CS.  (Not the way this die was designed to be used).  I cut the inside of the card using White CS with Stitched Circle die by Lawn Fawn.  Working out the folds before cutting was the tricky part.  On the inside of round card, I  stamped the Floral image from Gina K set You Make Me Smile with Versamark and heat embossed with White EP.  I water colored the image with a water brush and Distress Oxide Inks Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, and  Peeled Paint. I used sentiments from the stamp set for the outside and inside stamped in the Peeled Paint. Used label die for the front tab.

Fun with Patterned Papers

 

Hello! Today I am sharing a card that was inspired by Pattern Paper in MME Collectable pad using a sketch from Stamp TV challenge.  I selected 3 of the papers and pulled colors to use on my image and sentiment from the floral pattern.  The floral stamp is from GKD A Year of Flowers 2 and the sentiment was from a GKD prize grab bag.  Other supplies: White CS, Memento Teal Zeal and Pistachio inks, Copics, Pink Glaze Pen, Circle and Oval Dies, Grosgrain Ribbon from stash.

Bloomin' Flowers

 

Welcome!  I am glad that you stopped by.  I was inspired to make a Vellum Panel Card by a video that I saw by Jennifer McQuire  here which I am sharing today.  She is one of the most talented card maker and always has such great tips and techniques and the best videos.
I used stamps from Penny Black's Friendship Flowers stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copics for my design.  I finished the inside of the card as shown on right.  Fun Project!

Cozy Kittens

 

 

Hello!   I am not a big fan of cats but the ones in this digi image Cozy Kittens by From The Heart are just too cute not to love.  I received this image free by participating in their December challenge and made this card for their Stamp of the Month January Challenge.  I used some Basic Grey pattern paper from Max & Whiskers pad that I have had "forever".   I completed the inside with a verse from the same set and added a strip of the pattern.  On the front,   I included a ball of blue yarn for the cats to play with.
Other supplies: White, Rust,Orange CS from stash, Copics, Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Die, Small Circle wrapped with Yarn.

Fall Pumpkin

 

 

 Hello! I seem to be making a lot of pumpkin cards lately!  Today I am using a neutral color pumpkin that I cut with a file with my Cameo from an off white paper and kraft CS.  I embossed the pumpkin pieces with Darice EF Chevron for texture and inked the edges.  Following a sketch (rotated) from the Die Cuttin  Divas Challenge,  I assembled Kraft CS as the base, layered wood grain Pattern Paper from MME Now and Then pad.  I popped up the pumpkin in the center with the stem and a bow of Raffia.  Attached the sentiment cut with Lawn Fawn stitched circle die and added the Kraft leaf.

I would consider the style of my card as Clean and Layered. Used clean lines,layers, embossing, pattern papers, etc. Inspired by the pumpkins and wood background.

Fall Thank You

Hello!  It is a good thing to have Thank You Cards on hand.  I created this one for the STV's Mix It Up Monday challenge "You Have Me In Stitches".  I used Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Dies (Both on White and Pattern Circles) and a stamp of stitches for my faux stitching instead of using the sewing machine.  I used Gina K stamps Signs of Autumn for the Pumpkins, the Thanks from North Woods, and the Stitched Scroll from Nana's Needleworks.  The pattern paper is from Gina K Autumn Landscape pad and yellow gold CS from Stash. Other supplies: Memento Rhubarb Stalk, Tangelo inks, Pencils and OMS, Cuttlebug EF Acanthus by Anna Griffin.

Bouquet of Thanks

Hello! Today I am a bit square.....a square card that is.  I make very few square designs but sometimes the image dictates to be square and a bit bigger too.  So I made this card 5.5"x 5.5" to best show the lovely image from Power Poppy's Countryside Bouquet Deluxe.  The card was made with challenges in mind for a sketch, color combo, and use of pencils.  The Bouquet was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on White CS and colored with Koh-I-Noor Pencils and OMS.  I heat embossed a bit of Wow Yellow EP on the center of the White Flowers and a bit of Ranger White EP on the petals of the same flowers.  This gave some texture and shimmer on the bouquet.  I trimmed the image with Lawn Fawn Stitched circle die.  The card was completed with a Gray Card Base, 3 strands of Yellow Satin Ribbons,  and a sentiment from Power Poppy Lavender set. I really am pleased with the results.

Hello! What taste better on a hot summer day than a slice of cold watermelon?  I created this card using Repeat Impressions stamps.  The watermelon was colored with Copics and the sentiment stamped with Memento Cottage Ivy ink and cut with Lawn Fawn stitch circle die. I added a watermelon border cut with a Silhouette file on the Cameo.

Oh My Stars

 



Hello!  I am still stuck on CAS cards which I can whip up quickly.  I created this for a few challenge using some items I had laying on my desk.  I layered the stars cut with a Sizzix die and a metal brad on a die cut with Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle and attached to a base of red CS.  The sentiment from GKD Stippled Nature and the Curved Line are with Brilliance Moonlight White ink. Looks BIRL.

Flower with a Leaf Button

 Hello!  I have been working outside and not spending  much time in my studio.  But I did take time to make this card for a few challenges. For this creation I used Gina K stamps and papers with some dies and a leaf button.  I really like this combo of the Hibiscus stamp and the paper as a background.
