Hello with Flowers

Hello!  I recently purchased the Watercolor Florals cardmaking Kit from the Artsystamper Shop which includes some beautiful digital stamps and papers.  I used the solid green paper as the card base, with a layer of blue cardstock, and then a layer of one of the floral patterns.  I printed one of the colored floral images on watercolor paper, added a bit of  coloring with Copic markers and pink foiling, and cut with a circle die.  I attached the image to a circle that I foiled with the pink foil paper.  Assembled the card and completed it with a sentiment from the kit  and pearls from my stash.  Love the colors in the design.

More Christmas

Hello! I am playing with more Foil-mates from GKD to create a Christmas card.  I used a panel of Holiday Flora that I laminated with GKD Red Velvet Foil. I trimmed this and attached to a card base of White CS. I stamped and embossed the sentiment from Joyful Holiday and poinsettia from Holiday Wreath Builder on a strip of white CS using Versamark and Red EP.  I added a strip of red foil beneath and added to the card. Finished with a couple of Pearls.
It is so hard to get a good photo of cards with foil because of the  reflection of the shine. But I did the best that I could.

Wish You Luck

Hello! Are you feeling lucky? I have been creating some St. Patrick's Day cards.  This one uses a digital image and sentiment from Power Poppy Wish You Luck.   I printed the image on a background of shamrock digital paper (unknown) from my files.  I then colored the image with Copic Markers ( a favorite technique) and added some metal confetti and 3 pearls. I attached this to a white card base ( at a slight angle) that I edged with Gold Glitter gel.

Happy 100th Birthday

Hello!  I made a very special card earlier this month for my Mother who celebrates her 100th Birthday this Sunday....her birthday is Monday January 20.  Family and friends will be gathering in Bruceton, TN to celebrate this milestone. I created this card using the Cameo for printing and cutting the cake and numbers that I attached to colorful patterned paper of falling confetti. The words were cut with Cheery Lynn and Marianne dies. I enhanced the front with pearls, glittery gemstones, stardust pen and glossy accents. Edged the card with yellow EP.  The inside of the card was designed  and printed  with Photoshop Elements. I included 100 candles, each enhanced with sparkly Stickles on the flames and glittery Stardust pen on the stripes.  A personal message was include on one of the panels but not shown here.  The finished size of the card was 8.5" high and 5.5" wide.

Oregano Wreath

 Welcome to the studio!  Today I am playing with Twofer Card Challenge-we are to create 2 different designs for 2 different occasions using the same stamp, stencils, and/or dies. The theme for this challenge is Garden.  I am using a stamp from Italian Garden set by Marcell Hawley in both of my cards, one a Christmas design and the other an any occasion card. I was inspired by my herb garden.

For the Christmas Card, I stamped the pot of Oregano without the tag with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored  with Copics and Memento Marker.  I added pearls (Colored with Red Copic) for ornaments and glossy accents to the pot. ( This reminded me of a holiday gift plant that you might order online. ) Other supplies: Sentiment from Penny Black, Memento Red ink, White CS, DCWV Christmas Basic Pattern Paper, Spellbinder Die.

For the second card,  I used more herb stamps and sentiment from the Italian Garden set.  I stamped the Herbs with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copics and Memento Markers.  My first stamped layout did not work so I fussy cut the images and arranged on a background of Pattern Paper from Graphics 45 Secret Garden pad. (Thought this paper was appropriate for a garden challenge)

Wreath Card

Hello!  Back with another wreath card -this one in Black and White.  I used Gina K Design stamps from the Holiday Wreath Builder with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Added rows of black gems and pearls to finish the card.  Used circle dies to trim the wreath and add a frame of black CS before attaching to white card base.

Shall We Dance?

Welcome!  Some stamps just make me smile, like this one - dancing bears from Lili of The Valley called Shall We Dance which I have had over 5 years.   I stamped the image with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on GKD white CS and colored with copics.  I had fun accessorizing their fancy outfits with Black Gemstones(cufflinks and buttons)  and Pearls (necklace and shoes).  I did a color wash in the background with Distress Oxide Ink and a water brush.  After trimming the image, I adhered it to a mat of dark gray CS and then to a base card of shimmering  pink pearl CS. The GKD sentiment was stamped with black ink and embossed with clear EP.  I will stash this card away for our anniversary in October.

Roses for My Valentine

Second Post Today
Hello!  Playing with the Hearts and Flowers Stamp TV kit,  I came up with this card featuring die cut Roses.  Stamped the flowers with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. Used a White card base embossed with CB EF Polka Dots.  Added border of red hearts cut  with a punch and added some smaller hearts with glitter and the sentiment from stash stamped on a Spellbinders die cut with a heart of Pearl tears.

Snowflakes Falling

Hello! I have another card with snowflakes....prefer the paper ones to the wet, cold ones.  I used snowflake stamps and dies from Gina K Merry and Bright set with Versamark ink and White EP. The snowflakes were arranged on a White Glossy CS mat embossed with Darice Snowflake EF. Gina K sentiment from Joyful Holiday set was stamped with Memento Black ink on a strip matted with Powder Blue strip cut with border punch.  Assembled the card with Powder Blue base and mat of Black CS.  Inspired by the sketch below. Finished with pearls on the center of the flakes.

Spring Tulips

 Hello!  Taking time out from spring chores to create a card for some of my favorite challenges.  This was made for the challenge at The House That Stamps Built using Repeat Impressions stamps Tulip Bouquet on the front and one of their sentiments inside.  I stamped the image with Memento Espresso Truffle and colored with Copics.  I used Spellbinders Divine Eloquence dies to cut the image on White CS and the frame from GKD Yellow CS and used GKD Green CS for the base. Finished with pearls colored pink with Copic marker.

Time for Spring Flowers

Hello!  Are you celebrating beautiful weather?  Here in Ohio the past few days have been glorious...something to celebrate after winter over stayed its time.  I made this card for a celebration using From the Heart's stamp of the month Time to Bloom. I used a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches for my design.
Supplies used: Copics including Gold for the watch, Stardust Pen, White and Pink CS, MME Patterned Paper, Spellbinder die, Pink Satin Ribbon, Pearl colored with Gold Copic (center of Watch), Flourishes stamp for sentiment, SU Pink ink.

Framed in Green

 

Hello! Now that I am back home from Florida, I hope to get back in the swing of making cards and doing challenges on a more regular routine.  This card was made with Gina K Designs A Year Of Flower 2 by Melanie. I used a Spellbinders Die from Divine Eloquence to dry emboss on a panel of white CS, not to cut through the paper.  I then sponged the design with Memento Bamboo Leaves.  I  stamped a Lily with a stem and leaves using Memento Tangelo ink and the same green.  I colored the image lightly with Copics.  Added a simple sentiment  Hi to the card.  Finished with some yellow pearls on the rounded corners and used a Grass Green card base.

Embossed Doily

Morning!  Stamp TV is going to have a prize for one person at the end of this year that has participated in all MIUM challenges and the prize package is a $100 GC for Gina K Designs but you must play in all the Mix It Up Monday Challenges.  This week's challenge STV16MON7 is to use the technique Emboss Resist which is usually to use clear embossing powder.  Unfortunately in my remote Florida studio I do not have any clear embossing powder or heat gun,  so I am improvising for my emboss resist entry.   I do have with me a previously done embossed doily using GKD Nana's Needlework stamp  but embossed with White EP on Blue CS.  I used Memento Rose Bud ink to sponge the design which look more lavender on the CS.   I finished with a sentiment from Stippled Nature set in the same ink.  I hope my modified form of the techniques fits the challenge.

Christmas Card

 

Welcome! Another Christmas card using stamps from GKD by Melanie.  I used the Poinsettia stamp from A Year of Flowers to create a masked border of flowers embossed with Silver EP and inked with Distress Ink Barn Door.  I then stamped a single flower in the same way and water colored with the same ink.  I stamped the sentiment from Melanie's Festive Frame set with the Barn Door ink  and heat embossed with Clear EP.   I added a strip of Silver Metallic CS on the lower edge of the card (Looks BIRL) and added pearls to finish.

Festive Christmas

 Hello! My Christmas card is for some fun challenges.  I am using GKD Festive Frame stamp set by Melanie to create this one with the image and sentiment heat embossed with Zing Silver EP on Glossy White CS.  I colored the flowers with Pink and Green Copics.  After trimming the frame I attached it to a Layer of Heavy Metallic Silver CS and then to a GKD Green CS.  I added a bow of Pink Satin with Organza and Pearls to complete my design.


Challenges:
Merry Monday Christmas Challenge: #179  Pink, Green and White.  I used these colors with addition of silver which I consider a neutral color.
Mod Squad Challenge:  Use Silver and/or Pearl.  I used both the Silver and Pearl with colors of Pink and Green.

Happy Snowman Thinks He's Santa?

Hi there!  Today I have another Christmas card inspired by Challenge #32 at Tag You're It!  I had planned to use a Santa theme but I realized that I really do not have many Santa stamps....several digi ones in my file... mostly vintage ones... not a really cute one like I wanted.  Guess I have a reason to shop for stamps.
I decided to use this cute Snowman from Creative Clear Stamps set Let It Snow.  He is kind of like the Santa on the inspiration graphic....kind of round and square-ish and I made his coat and Santa  hat Red with Copics.  My layout was also inspired by the challenge....used Kraft and Embossed Snowflakes and 2 stripes of Pattern Paper. The words were die cut with Cheery Lynn dies from a Glossy Oyster Pearl CS. Pearls, Stickles, Clear Star pen and Twine finished the project. Inks used were Memento Tuxedo Black and Brilliance Platinum.

White Wash Technique

Welcome!  I always have fun trying new techniques and today I am sharing a card using a White Wash technique that I read about on the Mod Squad challenge and saw on a video by Melanie Muenchinger here.   I love the pearlized look this gives the image.  I used GKD Stamps Buds & Vases and sentiment from The Northwoods.  Other supplies: Kraft and Innocent Pink CS, Versamarrk, White EP, Inks Brilliance Moonlight White, Memento Rose Bud, Olive Grove, SU Always Artichoke, Ribbon and pearls. I added the satin ribbon by running it through slits made by an exacto knife.

Challenges:
Mod Squad Challenge: Let's see your white wash. Love the look of this on Kraft.
Time Out Challenge: Take time to Make Your Mark.  Used water brush with inks to make my mark.
AAA Cards: Use spectacular Embossing.  Used heat embossing on my card.
