Using Some of My Stash

 Welcome to the studio!  I have created some cards using some pre-embossed panels of white cardstock that I had filed away.....not sure why I did this but I have a stack of several panels embossed with several different embossing folders.  I chose 3 precut and pre-embossed panels with Cuttlebug Leafy Branch EF. For the first card, I colored the raised design with DOI  Peeled Paint using a pod and attached to a Green Mat and White Card base. I added several Butterflies die cut from scraps of Yellow CS using Sue Wilson Petite Butterflies dies (NBUS). Finished with words die cut with Cheery Lynn dies. 

 

The second card was made in a similar way but used a different green ink and darker green mat. The butterflies are cut from the smaller dies from the same set by Sue Wilson and cut from scraps of a patterned paper shown on the side in the photo. Used a Cheery Lynn die for the word Thanks. 

For the third card, I had used the Leafy Branch EF but also had embossed the panel with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots.  Not sure which EF that I used first but I had colored the raised dots with Navy Ink and the branch with Green Ink using pods to color the raised areas.  It was some time ago that I did this embossing and coloring and put away to finish at a later time.  I completed this card using some Marianne Design Creatable dies.  The bird was cut from a Red scrap and raised on some red foam. The birdhouse was cut from some Brown foam and I inked the raised area with dark brown ink. (FYI I first cut the house from brown cardstock and cut the foam to layer but I liked the look of the foam for the house with out the paper better and eliminated the brown paper.)  The sentiment was stamped and die cut with Gina K Designs products.  Used Navy ink to stamp and white foam to raise. Attached the panel to a Navy Card base and assembled the elements using a bit of string to hang the birdhouse.

Happy 100th Birthday

Hello!  I made a very special card earlier this month for my Mother who celebrates her 100th Birthday this Sunday....her birthday is Monday January 20.  Family and friends will be gathering in Bruceton, TN to celebrate this milestone. I created this card using the Cameo for printing and cutting the cake and numbers that I attached to colorful patterned paper of falling confetti. The words were cut with Cheery Lynn and Marianne dies. I enhanced the front with pearls, glittery gemstones, stardust pen and glossy accents. Edged the card with yellow EP.  The inside of the card was designed  and printed  with Photoshop Elements. I included 100 candles, each enhanced with sparkly Stickles on the flames and glittery Stardust pen on the stripes.  A personal message was include on one of the panels but not shown here.  The finished size of the card was 8.5" high and 5.5" wide.

Two For Christmas

Hello!  I made 2 Christmas cards with the Christmas Bauble die from Marianne. I cut twice --from Gold Metallic CS and Red CS.   For the top card I used the gold negative pieces with the Red Ornament. Glued to a White CS panel with a Red Organdy Ribbon, added Gold Metallic Mat and White card base. Finished with Gina K sentiment stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Gold EP.

For the second card,  I simply glued the Gold ornament with a Gold Metallic ribbon to a Red card base.  Added glitter to the ornament with Sakura Clear Star pen.  Stamped the Gina K sentiment with Verrsamark and heat embossed with Silver EP.  Added a shadow to the words with the Clear Star Pen.  Two more cards for my holiday stash.

Bird Cage Planter

Welcome!  The inspiration for my card today comes from the Photo for Just Us Girls Challenge shown below.  I was reminded of  Dies for a Bird Cage and Tropical Leaves that I have and used them to create this card.  I thought of seeing old bird cages being used as a planter.  Washi Tapes (colors from the photo) were used as stripes on lower edge.  Other supplies: GKD Stamps, Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Ink, Clear EP,  Cheery Lynn Tropical Leaves and Olive Branch Dies, Marianne Dies, White CS, Blue CS's, Scraps of Green CS's. 

For a touch of whimsy, I added a die cut bird looking up at his cage wondering "What happened to my house?"

Christmas Ornaments

Hello!  I made this card for the Merry Monday Challenge to use dark blue, light blue and pink on a Christmas card.   I used a Christmas Bauble die from Marianne, an embossing folder ( Ornament, Star and Snowflake) by Darice, a Penny Black Stamp from Wonder Collection set with White, Pink and Blue cardstocks.  Other supplies: Memento Rose Bud ink, Circle Punch and Die, Pink Satin Ribbon from stash.

Embossed Impressions

Hello!  Today I was playing with a technique doing embossed impressions using a die with Versamark to make an impression on CS and then heat embossed with EP.  I saw this technique on a Jennifer McQuire video and just had to try it.  It is easier to watch how to do this than explain it in words.  I used an Ornament die to make my impression and created this holiday card.

Pink and Silver

Hello!  I am back with another Pink and Silver Christmas card using some leftovers from yesterday's card.  To this card, I added an embossed layer of Silver Metallic CS which I wrapped the center with Pink Vellum so the attached ornament would shown better.   I've included 2 photos to show from different angles.  It is so difficult to capture Metallic CS without glare.

Christmas Ornament

Hello!  Today I am playing with Christmas cards.....no time like the present to begin making holiday cards.  I am playing with a pink and silver theme.  I cut the Marianne Christmas Bauble die from Metallic Silver CS and  used a circle of Pink Vellum to back it.  My card base is a Shimmering Pink Pearl CS from Crafter's Companion.  I heat embossed a verse from Penney Black's Wonder Collection with Silver EP. Added some Pink Satin Ribbon to the ornament.

Another Quick Christmas Card

Hello!  I am back using some of the same things that I just used in another CAS card.  I cut the Marianne's Christmas Bauble die with some Metallic Gold Card Stock and also with light blue CS.  I used the gold outline from the die and the blue pieces  to create an ornament.  I again cut Merry Christmas from a Metallic Gold Scrap with Cheery Lynn Dies. I added these with some light blue satin ribbon to a Navy Card Base. This was a quick and simple CAS Christmas card.  And I have pieces left to create another ornament.

Never Too Early for Holiday Cards

Hello!  I am using some more of the things that I have on hand to make this CAS card for some challenges.  I used Marianne's Christmas Bauble die that I got last year and have never used.  I simply cut Metallic Gold Card Stock with the die and left it intact to stick on a Gold edged White CS and then stuck on "Merry Christmas" cut from a Metallic Gold Scrap with Cheery Lynn Dies. Attached this all to a White card base.
Other supplies used: Shiny Gold Metallic Ribbon, Pilot Gold Marker Pen

Seeing Pink Elephants?

Welcome!  No, I did not wake up seeing pink elephants this morning.  We had a very quiet New Year's Eve.  I made this card inspired by the Photo Week at Just Us Girls Challenge.  I took the colors and circle shapes along with the elephant as elements for my design.  The elephant was cut with my Cameo, the "happy" with a Cheery Lynn die and the "birthday" with a Marianne die. I used Spellbinders dies for the circle shapes.  I am keeping this post  brief because the deadline for JUGS is soon.

You Are a Star on Your Birthday

 Hello!  Today I have a card made for the challenge at Poppy Sketches to use pops of Raspberry, Blueberry and Granite.   I used a base card of White that I embossed with Cuttlebug EF Stars but to be different I adhered the dark CS cut 4.25" x 5.5" to the inside of the card base so I had an edge of Granite when the card is closed. The dark CS looks more black but is really a dark gray color.   I added a strip of Chevron Pattern scrap with a Raspberry flower cut with Nesties Blossom dies and navy brads. The word Happy was cut with a Cheery Lynn die from Blue CS scrap.  Inside I continued with the word Birthday cut in Raspberry with  a Marianne die and added a white star cut with a Sizzix die and stamped with "You are a Star", a Flourishes stamp using Memento Blue Danube ink.

Happy Fall

Today, I am back to thinking of fall and have used inspiration from The Cutting Edge Challenge to create this project.  Pulling colors of orange, blue, green, brown and black, lower edge of grass, and the layout of their photo,  I designed the card with those elements.  I cut the pumpkin and grass on the Cameo using Silhouette files and cut birds and fence with dies from Marianne.  I assembled all the pieces on a card base of Blue CS and stamped the sentiment from SU with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  All cardstock was from stash and scraps.

Another Christmas Card in August

Welcome to my blog!  Today I am posting a card for Joan's Garden Challenge to make a Vintage card , use a bird, use a scenic pattern paper, use a die for your sentiment, and use a product sold at Joan's Gardens.  My Christmas Vintage card is made with a Webster Page from Waiting for Santa which I distressed with a paper distresser and Distress Ink Tea Dye. I wrapped this with twine from my stash and placed on a mat of Authentique striped paper from Collection Wonder. This went on a card base of Kraft Cardstock. I added the sentiment from GKD stamped with Memento Rhubarb Stalk on a die cut of parchment cut with Spellbinders Label 4 and layered on the striped paper cut with a larger Label 4. Finished with a leaf from stash and a red bird cut with a Marianne die. Thanks to my husband's suggestion,  I added some Stickles to the roof edges of the houses for sparkle.

Thinking of Spring

Spring may not actually have sprung but we sure are wishing it would.  At Joan's Garden her challenge this week has us thinking about Spring. Her requirements are: Use Yellow, Black and White, use a frame, use something to do with Spring, and use something sold at Joan's Gardens. I think of birds and flowers in the garden as spring approaches so I created this scene using die cut bird house, bird, fence and flowers. I die cut the frame in yellow card stock and backed with black. I used a scrap of paper inside the frame and arranged my elements using pop dots and glue dots. Finished with the sentiment and bit of black and white ribbon.

Summer Fun with Birds

For the current Joan's Gardens' Challenge, we

need to use a Bird Theme, a branch and leaves (mine are stamped) , use blue (used papers and inks), and use a frame on our card. I had purchased some Marianne dies back in April and have never used them. This was the perfect challenge to make use of them as well as the frame die that I purchased at the same time. To begin my card I stamped the branch with leaves on white CS and colored with Copics and sponged the background with blue ink using a cloud template. Added grass with ink and marker.  I then used the dies to cut out the bird (blue CS), birdhouse and picket fence in white CS. Attched these items with pop  up dots and tape.Cut the Frame out of Lighter Blue CS and placed over the image. I decided to wait and add a sentiment when I use the card. This was a fun card to design.

A Card of many Challenges

It seems I have been running behind with challenges the past 2 weeks. Trying to make up for lost time.  I started this card for a sketch challenge but did not finish before the deadline. Probably some of you will recognize which sketch I used from a recent challenge. I have finished it now and have found a few challenges that I will enter the finished card before the deadlines.
