Fall Cards

Hello!  I have been creating more Fall/Thanksgiving cards.  I have used colored digital stamps from Artsystamper Shop to create some quick and easy cards.  The top card features a sunflower image printed on Ivory textured cardstock and a sentiment from Gina K Designs stamped in dark red ink. Added a green satin ribbon printed with leaves that I had in my stash.  Finished with  a card base of Faded Brick.

This design was made with Artsystamper pumpkin, leaves, and sentiment digital stamps arranged and printed on Ivory Textured paper.  I stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts in Rich Cocoa ink and used a dark brown card base.

I used the same pumpkin and maple leaves digital images from Artsystamper Shop for the last 2 cards but added some distress ink,  Cheery Lynn die cut words, and Green card base on one.  I also popped up the pumpkin on this one by printing the image twice and fussy cut the pumpkin.   The last one was printed with a sentiment on ivory cardstock and placed on a card base of Faded Brick.  Used a black gel pen to highlight the sentiment.

These cards are part of several that I  am making for the residents at my Mother's care center.

Do You Dance?

Hello! Do you dance when no one is watching?  These three ballerinas love to dance and hope you do too.  I created this card for the challenge at The Library Challenge #54 Ballet Shoes.  I was inspired by the 3 Ballerinas and colors on the cover.  I printed and colored the ballerina digital image 3 times from Dearie Dolls. The original image was colored in pink and I recolored 2 more images in red and blue  through the magic of Photoshop Elements.  I added more shading with Copic markers and some glitter with a Stardust pen. I arranged the images and sentiment and printed using a background frame on white CS. I attached this to a red card base. Just for fun I added a border of red foil to represent the curtain using double sided tape.

Wrapping Gifts

Welcome!  I hope you all had a great New Year's Eve and I wish you much Health and Happiness in 2020!  Today I am sharing some wrapping paper and tags that I created using some Artsystamper  digital images with some neutral colored paper from my stash.  I often give sets of handmade cards as gifts in clear boxes and I needed to gift wrap them and decided to created my own design of wrapping paper using 8.5" x11".  Then I decided that I needed to add coordinated tags that I printed using the same paper and digital images.  The gift package with tag that I created is shown above. I used Photoshop to layout the designs and printed them on  paper. The Pine Cone and Pine Needles digital images that I used were free gifts available to the Artsystamper Art Group on Facebook.

Challenges to enter:

Artsystamper Digitals Challenge: #6 Wrapping Paper/Tags.  I had not planned to enter this challenge again but since we can enter 3  times, I thought this was a perfect match to enter.

Wintery Thank You

Hello! Today I have created a Clean and Simple Winter Thank You card using two free digital images so generously offered by Beverly to her Facebook group at Artsystamper Art Group.  I arranged the Pine Needles and Pine Cone images for a card using Photoshop, added a sentiment that I typed, and printed it on a textured Ivory Card Stock.  I used a mat of GKD Green CS and a Brown card base.  Finished with some touches of Liquid Pearl to the edges of the cones for texture and shine. 

Thanks to Beverly for the digital images and Happy Birthday to her. Today the 25th is her birthday.

Speeding Santa

Welcome to my studio!  In an attempt to use up some of my supplies, I pulled out a box of digital images that I had printed and stored away for later use. I also opened a box of patterned papers that I saved from magazines and a box of Christmas patterned paper. I challenged myself to create cards using these supplies.  The cards above are 2 of the many cards that used some of these supplies. The digital image is from Dearie Dolls..... Santa Bring Home the Tree....the top one was colored using Copics.  Added some texture with a Snow Marker and Stickles.  The plaid paper was from a magazine freebie. Used GKD Green CS as the base
The bottom card used the same digital image but was colored by the artist. I inked the edge of the image with a red marker and placed on a black mat, then a patterned paper from American Crafts and a red card base.  GKD sentiment stamp used on both card.

Made With Digital Images

Hello!  I just discovered some digital images created and sold by Beverly Cole at The Artsystamper Shop through reading a post on Dar's Crafty Creations.  I was playing with some digital images that I bought and created a very quick card using Photoshop.  I used the maple leaf trio image already colored to create the background and used  the colored pumpkin image as the focus.  I  added the sentiment and then printed off the design on white CS which I sized to fit on a 4'"x 5.25" panel.

To finish I sponged on some DOI Spiced Marmalade and added some glossy accents to the handle for some texture. I used a Black Glaze pen to trace the word Friendship which makes it look heat embossed. I attached the printed image on a card base of GKD Fresh Asparagus CS.

I don't make many cards just using digital images but once upon a time I made cards just using a printer and computer....read on.

  When I first began making homemade cards for my friends and family, I used only a computer, printer/scanner, and white card stock  to design and create my cards.  That was some time around 1998 or 1999.  I used no inks, no stamps, no embellishments, no glue, no tape, no trimmer, no die cut machine, etc.  I used The Print Shop program to design my card with photographs that I scanned (no such thing as digital pictures) or clip art and printed sentiments. After I designed on the computer,  I simply printed the front, back, and inside of my card on a single piece of white card stock.  I folded the card making it a 5.5" x 8.5" -what is called half card size- no need to trim or cut.  They were true one layer cards with no dimension or texture.  Later I started using Photoshop to enhance my printed cards and started using more digital images.  It's fun how you can manipulate the images.  I learned all this by trial and errors....not many You Tubes How To Do Videos back then.

After I retired, I became interested in stamping when my next door neighbor and friend shared with me her cardmaking techniques using stamps and inks. I shortly joined her card making club in 2005 and began to collect all sorts of stamps, inks, die cuts, embossing folders, papers, embellishments, tapes, glues and all those things that I "had to have" to make a card. Now I need a room to hold all my supplies and tools, no longer just a desk with a computer and printer and a stack of white card stock. 

How things have changed in the world of card making!

I made this card just for the fun of it....not for a challenge...….reminded me of how I began making cards.

Birthday for a Young Scientist

Hello!  Today's card was made for my great nephew who turns 8 today and is very interested in science and doing experiments. On white CS, I printed and colored a digital image that I found online for his card and added die cut words and lots of punched out dots for bubbles.  Also added some Glossy Accents to the test tubes and flasks. Used GKD Blue Raspberry CS for words and card base and Cheery Lynn Dies. 

  Finished the inside with printed message and more images.

Tis the Season

Hello!  I made this CAS Christmas card with a digital image of Vintage Santa from Crafty Secrets Vintage Christmas series.  I printed it in black and white and colored with Copics and a White Marker.  Stamped with GKD sentiment. Used a Dark Green card base.

One More Sunflower

Hello! I do love sunflowers!  This card was made with a digital image from Crafty Secrets  that I won and stored in my files.  I kept the design very clean and simple.  Printed the image on watercolor paper and colored with Distress Oxide inks with a water brush. Added a sentiment from Power Poppy Stamps with Vintage Photo ink.  Attached to a Yellow card base.  That's all I did.

Garden of Sunflowers

Hello!  I have been playing with Sunflowers, on paper that is.  I did not realize that I had so many great digital images of this flower in my files.  On watercolor paper,  I printed out this digi from Two for Tuesday which I do not think is posting any more.  I colored the image with a water brush using Distress Oxide Inks Fossilized Amber, Peeled Paint, Lucky Clover, Vintage Photo, and Walnut Stain. I edged the image with a mat of Rust CS and placed on a Ivory card base.  Stamped a Power Poppy sentiment with Vintage Photo.  I like this image so much that I am printing and coloring a larger one to frame.

Classic and Masculine

Welcome!  I recently won some digital images from MHK Designs and just had to use this vintage truck on a card.  I printed the truck and 2 of the sentiments from Various Vehicles set on heavy White CS.  I printed one of the sentiments in red to add a bit of color.  Added black brads to the tires and some glossy accents to the windows.  Finished with some score lines at the bottom edge to add more texture.  Quick and easy one layer card and a very masculine birthday card for my stash.

Funny Moose with Lights

Hello! Yes another Christmas Moose!  I just could not resist using this cute face on a card!  I simply printed and fussy cut the digital image and popped up with foam tape to a layer of pattern paper from Paper Sweeties Merry & Bright pad and to a Red card base. Added some glitter to the string of lights and some Matte Accents to his antlers for texture and shine.

Moose with Christmas Tree

Bear with me as I will be repeating a lot from my last Moose Card post in posting this Christmas card.  I found that I have several cute Moose images and am not sure the origin of this one.  I used more of Paper Sweeties Merry & Bright paper pad with Red CS and cut the words from  White CS using Cheery Lynn Dies.  I trimmed the printed image with a Spellbinders die and edged with a Red Copic marker before assembling the card. I used Red and Green Nuvo Crystal dots on the ornaments.

Flowers in a Frame

Hello!  My card today is for the challenge at Power Poppy -Frame It Up- Simply frame your image on a card, decorate a frame or frame your stamped piece as a bit of home décor.  I printed Power Poppy's Camellias Digi on watercolor paper and colored with Distress Inks Picked Raspberry, Forest Moss, and Peeled Paint using a watercolor brush.  I then framed the image with a decorative 5x7 mat that I purchased for 50 cents and have had in my stash forever.  I then placed this in a brass frame so that I can use  it on a side table as a bit of décor.  I photographed the framed image without the glass to avoid glare.

Bunny Artist

Hello!  I have been MIA for a couple of months but am back to share a card that I have made.  This card was made by printing a digital image Bunny Painting Egg from Craftin Desert Divas and colored with Copics and Glitter pens.  I added some GKD washi tape in neon colors and added to a Turquoise card base.  I wrote the sentiment with an orange Copic trying to make it look as if it was painted with a brush by the bunny.

Santa On His Way?

Hello!  Playing with some pattern paper, a sketch, and a digital image resulted in this card.  The Santa digi is from Dearie Dolls...just love these fun images. Vintage Santa

Hello!  Sometimes a card comes together so quick and easy and some of the simplest cards are the hardest.  This one was very easy once I found the digital vintage image from TLC by Paulette that I had stored in my files.  I printed the image on white CS and after I trimmed it with a white margin, I distressed the margin with Distress Ink Antique Linen and the edges with a distressing tool.  I found just the right Pattern Paper from an old Webster's Pages pad and used a mossy green card base.  I wrapped the Coppery Gold Organza ribbon around the image before attaching to the base.  Something about this ribbon was just perfect in my eyes.  I was not going to add a verse but remembered this stamp from Gina K Designs Joy and Peace set and thought it had a vintage ring to it.  I stamped in the upper corner...perfect fit...with SU Always Artichoke ink.  I plan to use this image for more cards but will try using water color paper to see if I like better.

Vase of Sunflowers

Welcome to the studio!  Today I have been playing with a new digital stamp from Power Poppy called Sunshine of My Life.  After printing the image, I colored with Copics and added some dots with a Metallic Glaze pen.  I stamped a sentiment from Power Poppy with SU Always Artichoke ink.  I kept the design CAS using a card base of GKD Fresh Asparagus CS and a mat of pattern paper from MME.  I will be entering this card into the Passionate Paper Creations Coloring contest on face book.
