Drummers Drumming

Hello! I have been playing with more stamps from The Twelve Days of Christmas stamp set from Creative Stamping Magazine.  I used a drum stamp that I inked with versamark and heat embossed with Gold EP.  I stamped the sentiments with the same technique.  While I was at it, I decided to do 2 cards but with different color combos. The top card was stamped on white card stock and colored with  gold, ivory,  reds, and blue copics. I used a Turquoise card base.  The second card was made with ivory card stock and colored with Copics in more traditional Christmas colors red, green, and gold.  I used a Green Metallic Foil card stock behind the image and attached to an ivory base.  I used a Gold Metallic marker to edge the image for each card before assembling the cards.  This gives the appearance of another layer without the extra weight.

Six Geese A-Laying

Welcome to my studio!  I am playing with some stamps from a set called "Twelve Days of Christmas" from Creative Stamping magazine  that I have had a couple of years.  I stamped the goose and words "Six Geese A-Laying" with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and colored with Copics.  I edged the trimmed panel with an Orange Copic marker and attached to a background of Patterned Paper from my stash.  I used a white card base.  Finished with die cut words using Cheery Lynn dies and a scrap of the pattern paper.  Always fun to use this stamp set.

Swans-a-Swimming

Hello! I hope everyone is enjoying a great holiday season and had a Merry Christmas day.  Thought I'd drop by with another one of my Twelve Days of Christmas series cards that I have not posted.  This features swans -a-swimming but I only have 2 of the 7.  The other 5 must have swum away out of site. I stamped the swans on 2 panels of white card stock and fussy cut one set of the swans to attach to the blue fiber cloth that I used for the background on the other panel of white cardstock.  Added some silver embossed snowflakes and stamped sentiments.  Used silver metallic CS for the card base. Stamps are from a free stamp set with Creative Stamping Magazine.
(The blue fiber cloth is what is used as a pot cover for plants)

Tenth Day of Christmas

Hello!  I am back with another card in my series of The Twelve Days of Christmas.  This was stamped with the Ten Lords a Leaping from the set called "Twelve Days of Christmas" from Creative Stamping magazine(GWP).  I stamped the frog on white CS, colored with Copics, and fussy cut the image.  I added some stickles to the fur on his cape.  I found an old pattern paper from a pad by Webster's Pages that made the perfect backdrop for the leaping frog. Stamped the sentiments with Memento ink and used GKD Red CS for card base.

Nine "Ladies" Dancing

Today I am sharing a card that I made continuing with  a Twelve Days of Christmas series that I began some time ago but never completed.  I am picking up with Nine Ladies Dancing from the set called "Twelve Days of Christmas" from Creative Stamping magazine that I got last Christmas. Using masking technique,  I stamped the Dancing Pig 5 times on the front and 4 times on the inside (below)with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the nine ladies with Copics Markers.  That way I covered all Nine Ladies. I decided that the dancing ladies would hold a banner wishing Merry Christmas.  I heat embossed the sentiment from my stash with Gold EP on vellum, fussy cut the words, and strung the banner on  metallic gold thread. I stamped the words beneath the dancers on the front and added a New Year sentiment to the inside.  Finished with a Red card base.

Day One of Christmas

Hello! It has been a few days since I posted a card on my blog.  I am taking time to share this Christmas card made with A Partridge in a Pear Tree. The partridge stamp is from a set called "Twelve Days of Christmas" from Creative Stamping magazine which I have had over a year and the Christmas sentiment stamp I believe is by Flourishes which is several years old. I stamped the Partridge with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold EP and colored with Copics.  I really like how the images came out.  Used Metallic Gold Cardstock for the card base to keep a very rich feel to the card.

Sixth Day of Christmas

Hello!  I am back with another addition to my series of cards for The Twelve Days of Christmas....
6 Geese A-Laying.   These cards are made with a set called "Twelve Days of Christmas" from Creative Stamping magazine that I got last Christmas.  I stamped the Goose and Label with Tuxedo Black ink on White CS and did minimal coloring with Copics.  I trimmed out the top of the panel to show more of the Patterned Paper background (think it is from Webster's Pages).  Added Merry Christmas die cuts from Orange CS.  Dies from Cheery Lynn.  After I made the above photo, I decided to paper piece the eggs with a scrap from the background. (shown below left)  Why not have a goose that lays patterned eggs instead of gold ones?
6 down, 6 to go!

Five Gold Rings

Hello!  Continuing with my series of The Twelve Days of Christmas cards.  These cards are made with a set called "Twelve Days of Christmas" from Creative Stamping magazine that I got last Christmas.  I have 2 cards made for the fifth day....five gold rings.  For the top card, I stamped the tree image on Green CS with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Gold EP.  I colored in the flowers and hearts with Pencils and the star with Gold Metallic pen. Added Diamond Stickles to the 5 rings. Fussy cut the tree and attached to a Red Card Base.  Heat embossed the sentiments with Gold EP.
The second card uses the same stamps and heat embossing with Gold EP but I did on a Textured Green CS. Colored the Hearts with Copics. Also used the Diamond Stickles on the rings and also on the star.  I colored in and outlined the tree with a Clearstar pen. Attached the Green Panel to a Dark Red Card Base.

4th Day of Christmas

Welcome!  I am a bit behind posting cards.  I was about to post a card for the Fifth day of Christmas when I realized I had not posted this card for the Fourth Day so I am doing this one first. These cards are made with a set called "Twelve Days of Christmas" from Creative Stamping magazine that I got last Christmas.   I stamped the image for 4 Calling birds with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copics.  I trimmed this with a Spellbinders die and placed on a mat of GKD Red CS.  I added this to a musical background that I created with a GKD stamp on White CS with Memento Tuxedo Black. I attached this with the sentiment to a GKD Red Card Base.

The Third Day of Christmas

Hello! I am continuing my  task of making cards with of the stamps from a set called "Twelve Days of Christmas" from Creative Stamping magazine that I got last Christmas.   Today we are stamping Three French Hens and I ended up with 2 cards since I tried doing both vertical and horizontal layouts.
On both I used white cardstock using masking to stamp 3 hens.

On the top card, I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink for the images and colored  just a bit with Copics. Stamped the words with Versamark and heat embossed with Red EP and Gold EP. Used a Patterned Paper  background with White Card Base.

For the bottom card, I used Memento Rich Cocoa ink for the hens and colored with several Copics.  I sponged around the images with DOI Antique Linen to give a vintage feel before trimming and attaching to a Musical Patterned Paper(from stash). Placed this on Red card base.  The words were also heat embossed using Red EP and Black EP.

Second Day of Christmas

Hello!  I have made a second Christmas card using a stamp from a set "Twelve Days of Christmas"from Creative Stamping magazine that I got last Christmas. This one uses Two Turtledoves from the set.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black on White CS and colored with Copics.  Stamped the sentiments with Memento Lady Bug ink.  I framed the white panel with the negative part left when I cut a frame from Green CS using Spellbinders Regal Frame die. Attached the negative and some of the loose pieces left after cutting the die.
Note: I cut the die from a panel 5.5" x 8.5" on the right side so I had the back side for my base.

The First Day of Christmas

Hello!  I have another Christmas card to share in July.  I am using a stamp from a set "Twelve Days of Christmas"from Creative Stamping magazine that I got last Christmas.  This is my first time to use this stamp and I plan to make a series of cards using all 12 days. I was inspired to create this card by the sketch below from Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  I stamped the Partridge in a Pear Tree with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Gold EP on White CS.  I colored the image with Memento Markers and Copics Gold Marker. I trimmed the bird and rounded one corner with a punch. I used a Card Base of GKD Metallic CS, a Strip of Moonlit Fog CS embossed with Divine Swirls EF. Stamped the sentiments with Versamark and heat embossed with Black EP.  Hope you can see the gold embossing in the photo....really pretty in real life.

Twofer Challenge Birds

Welcome!  Today I am posting cards that I created for the Twofer Card Challenge #12 - make 2 different cards for 2 different occasions using the same stamp, stencil, or die.   I used a Swan stamp from The 12 Days of Christmas stamp set that was in an issue of Creative Stamping.   For a Christmas card I stamped the swan 7 times (using a mask) on white CS with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics, stamped sentiments from the same set, and layered with a blue card base and an orange mat.
The second card was made with 2 panels of White CS inked with Distress Oxide Ink Salty Ocean.  The panels were both results of my playing (experimenting) with DOI and were found in my stash  of saved handmade backgrounds.  The bottom panel ( inked by swiping the pad over the paper) was embossed with Fiskars Texture Pad Ocean and trimmed  along a wave. On the top of the card, I used a panel that looks like a sky with clouds.   I stamped another swan, colored with Copics, fussy cut, and attached to the card. Stamped some sentiments from my stash with DOI Salty Ocean.  Also added some glossy accents to the swans' beaks.

Challenges to enter:
Twofer Card Challenge: #12 Birds
Tuesday Throwdown: #423 Theme is  Embossing. Use Fiskars Texture Plate Ocean.
