Spring Flowers

Hello!  I love tulips and I cannot wait until mine are blooming.  I made this CAS card using  Penny Black stamps from Friendship Flowers set.  I stamped the sentiment and image with Memento Black ink and colored with Pencils and Odorless Mineral oil.  I framed the image with embossing done with a Spellbinders Label die. The photo does not show the embossed frame very well. I saw that technique on a recent Jennifer McGuire video about adding texture with dies. Finished with a pink card base.

A Birthday Not Forgotten

Hello! Another card to share this first day of August.....what happened to July?  When I saw the challenge at Just Us Girls, I knew I had to pull out old Elephant and Sentiment stamps from Mark's Finest Papers (no longer around) dated 2011.  I stamped the image with Memento Gray Flannel ink on white CS and colored with Pencils and OMS.  Stamped the sentiments with DOI Walnut Stain.  Framed the image with GKD Dark Chocolate CS die cut with Spellbinders Frame die and attached to Textured Pattern Paper from DCWV Safari Chic paper pad ( from old stash).  The Pattern Paper picks up colors in the inspiration photo.  Added some Glossy Accents to give texture to the tusks. This is a great card to add to my Masculine Birthday stash.

Thinking Spring Flowers

Hello!  I used Repeat Impressions stamp Spring Blossoms for this birthday card. Stamped with Distress Oxide Ink Antique Linen on White CS and then colored with Pencils and OMS.  Cut the image with a die and placed on a die cut mat of Embossed (Darice EF)Yellow CS.  Attached to a white card base and added the die cut  sentiment with gem stones to complete the birthday card.

Coffee and Doughnuts

Hello!  I love my coffee in the morning.   I begin each day with my DH making and serving me coffee.....thus my card reads "Your love sustains me" an older stamp from GKD Life is Good set on my card.  The Coffee Cup stamp is from GKD Signs of Autumn.  I colored the cup with Pencils and OMG. Since I wanted to add some Doughnuts and do not have a Doughnut stamp, I simply cut mine with circle dies and colored with Copics and Stickles and then sprinkled with Wilton Sugar Stickles. 
Other Supplies: GKD Ivory CS, MME Pattern Paper, SU Close to Cocoa ink, Glossy Accents.

Spring Colors and Flowers

Hello!  I was inspired to use lovely pinks, yellows, and greens on this card that I made for the Fusion Challenge celebrating their 2nd Anniversary.  I combined the colors, flowers, and chevron design with the sketch shown in the graphic below.  I inked the raised areas of the embossing by sponging.

Fun with Scribbles and Doodles

Welcome to my studio!  Today I am a Guest Designer at City Crafter Challenge.  The theme for  week 282 is Scribble Doodle Fun (make a project that include a scribble or doodle... it could be your scribble stamp, die, or simply just doodling on your project). See the inspiration photo below:

 

 

 

 This is my card that I have made using a doodle stamp, an image that I doodled and colored, and a doodled sentiment.  Do you know the definition of doodle is 1. To draw or sketch aimlessly, especially when preoccupied. 2. To kill time; dawdle....To draw (figures) while preoccupied. ....A figure or design drawn or written ?

  I also used some pattern paper that has doodles/scribbles. 

 

When I was a child, I used to doodle primitive looking flowers such as the one I drew for my card.  I drew the flower with a Black Zig pen and colored with pencils.  I stamped a border on each side of the image with a Border Stamp from Mixed Media stamps by Julie Nutting.  I doodled the Happy Birthday sentiment.  I placed the image off center on the Pattern Paper layer from MME Collectible Remarkable pad so more of the doodles and scribbles could be seen.  The yellow card base is from my stash of papers.

 

This second card below was totally designed and created with Photoshop and printed on white cardstock and then mounted on yellow card base after I printed the sides with a doodle design

 

I am entering the card above in Happy Little Stampers Sketch Challenge for October.

 

 

I still doodle sometimes if a pencil and paper are available and I am bored.  Are you a Doodler?

Falling Leaves

Hello!  Are you looking forward to falling leaves?
My card today is a quick and simple CAS and also a One Layer.  I stamped  GKD leaf and sentiment stamps from A Year of Leaves by Melanie with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on GKD Ivory CS and simply colored in Autumn colors with Pencils and OMS.  This stamp set is one of my old time favorites for fall cards. I added some score lines for interest and texture to finish my design.

Wine is Better Than a Shrink

Hello!  I made this card with Repeat Impressions Wine Series stamps and Memento Tuxedo Black ink using the sketch shown below.  I colored the Wine Bottle and Glasses with Pencils and OMS Have a great day! I meant for the color of wine to be Red but it looks more like a Rose. The card base is Cranberry CS with White CS embossed with EF Tiny Bubbles. All papers including the Green Pattern are from my stash.

Bouquet of Thanks

Hello! Today I am a bit square.....a square card that is.  I make very few square designs but sometimes the image dictates to be square and a bit bigger too.  So I made this card 5.5"x 5.5" to best show the lovely image from Power Poppy's Countryside Bouquet Deluxe.  The card was made with challenges in mind for a sketch, color combo, and use of pencils.  The Bouquet was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on White CS and colored with Koh-I-Noor Pencils and OMS.  I heat embossed a bit of Wow Yellow EP on the center of the White Flowers and a bit of Ranger White EP on the petals of the same flowers.  This gave some texture and shimmer on the bouquet.  I trimmed the image with Lawn Fawn Stitched circle die.  The card was completed with a Gray Card Base, 3 strands of Yellow Satin Ribbons,  and a sentiment from Power Poppy Lavender set. I really am pleased with the results.

Poppies with Pencils

 Hello! Thanks for stopping by.  Today my card is made with a new stamp set from Power Poppy called Poppies.  I stamped the image with Memento Espresso Truffle ink and colored with Koh-I-Noor pencils and OMS and used a Black Glaze pen on the center of the Poppy.  I trimmed the edge and layered the image on Red Paper. The Black Background embossed with Cuttlebug EF Gingham and the striped panel are from Fancy Pants Trend Setter paper pad. The card base is GKD Tomato Soup. I finished with a sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and a Black Satin Ribbon and Double Bow.

Camellias for a Friend

Hello! I took time out from putting mulch on my gardens to make a one layer card using Power Poppy Camellias and Sentiment digital stamps which I printed on white CS.  I colored the image with Koh-i-noor pencils and OMS.  I used Anna Griffin Acanthus embossing folder border to add a bit of texture and design. I was pleased with how this card turned out.

Have a Glass Of Wine?

Welcome! I hope you have time for a glass of wine.  I am using Repeat Impressions stamps from their Wine Series set.  I stamped the bottle, glasses, and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a one layer card of White CS. I colored the images with assorted pencils and markers and added some shadows with a gray pencil. I tried to make the label on the bottle look very vintage..... the older the wine, the better it is.  I scored 3 lines at the lower edge to finish and anchor the card.

Less Is More Challenge: This week it is a One Layer Challenge and the theme is Beverages.

2nd Post today. I enjoy making fall cards so I am back with another one with an apple tree.  Don't you think of apples with fall...smell of apple pie baking, warm apple cider?  l'll be entering this at Joan's Gardens Challenge to

You must use a product sold at Joan's Gardens.

I printed a digi from my files from Birdie Brown on white cardstock and colored the tree with Copics and the leaves and apples with pencils and OMS. I stamped the SU Sentiment with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink and added green with Memento Bamboo Leaves Marker. The bird that landed in the tree was cut with a Marianne Die from a scrap of red cardstock. I glued the image to a mat of textured green cardstock and a base card of Pumpkin cardstock.  My leaf embellishment of Green Vellum paper was made with a PSX Maple leaf stamp  using SU reinkers as shown in my earlier post today.

Friends of Speedy TV Challenge

 

 Good morning on another Monday.  The weekend was uneventful since I am fighting a cold and I seem to be losing the battle.  But that did not keep me from playing in my studio to create this tag to inspire you to play in the challenge at Friends of Speedy TV this week.  And that is to create Tags and/or Tickets to be in the running to win a Stamp Set "Island Life" from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. shown below.  I decided to make a tag that could be used on a autumn hostess gift,  maybe a bottle of wine. On my tag, I used the soon to be released set "Autumn Splendor" to give you a sneak peek of this great set.  I stamped the pumpkin on orange CS  with a sentiment from "Welcome Poppies".  I  stamped the leaves and acorn swag on white CS,colored with pencils, cut out and attached with pop ups. I printed out the ticket and stamped with the word Autumn. Layered top on to green CS and added ribbon.

Autumn Leaves

Hello! I did not plan to do another post but since it is raining I decided to make a quick one layer card. I stamped 2 old stamps from Hero Arts on Ivory CS to create this quick card above. Coloring was done with Pencils and OMS.

If you have been  wondering what I 've been doing instead of blogging,  I cleaned up my Studio and organized my supplies, stamps, scraps, etc....hope to use more of what I have in 2012.

Guess that is a New Year's resolution. Also I organized to make room for my toys that Santa brought including the Spellbinders Grand Calibur and Grand Dies.  Also expecting the Cricuit Machine that I won at Sugar Creek Hollow. I am a lucky girl!! Thanks Santa.

Snowy Card for Challenges

Morning...we had some snow yesterday so I am inspired to make a snowy card.  I used digital images "A Merry Little Christmas" and "Christmas Tickets" from Paper Cupcakes. I colored the snowman with pencils and OMS, Copics B0000 and R20, and used a Sakura Orange glaze pen to highlight. Cut the image with Nesties circle die and matted with a circle of Green CS. Used the same Green CS for the base and attached some white CS embossed with Cuttlebug EF Snowflakes. Assembled the rest of card with the tickets, scrap of the green CS, and snowmen ribbon from American Crafts. Added some Red and Gold Rhinestones from my stash.
Think I like the colors that I pulled from the ribbon and challenge graphic.
Challenges:
There's Magic in the Air: Winter Fun with Bling. Nina challenged us to use an image reflecting some winter fun such as sledding, ice skating, a snowman, etc. Then add some bling to your card/project.
The ABC Challenge:  F is for Frosty.

Happy Birthday, AnnaBelle

I am playing along at AnnaBelle Stamps Birthday Party and I have made this card for the 1st Birthday challenge presented by Sue and Kylie. I used an exclusive free digi image that Andrea has for their birthday and is available from her here in this post. Thanks Andrea for the lovely digi.

The challenge is a 1-2-3 one:
1. One New Stamp (Any new Stamp but if you have ABS use your latest purchase.
2. Die Cuts/Punch Shapes
3. Bling


I printed the newly acquired image on white CS and colored with pencils and OMS. Used a Fiskars border punch on the edge and layered that with some Pattern Paper from K&Co. For a second die cut, I used a Spellbinders Ribbon tag  die which I modified. To this I added a rub on sentiment since I think that we are to use only one stamp. I added 3 bling -green rhinestones to complete the challenge. (Do not know why they look so crooked in photo but look BIRL.)

Spring is Time for Bird's Nests

 Second Post Today:
I made this card for Card Patterns Sketch 109 and CR84FN Color Challenge to use Kraft, Green, and Brown. Used card base of Kraft CS and layered with Brown CS that I punched with MS Scallop Dot Border. I stamped the Flourishes image of the bird's nest with Memento Rich Cocoa on Soft Sand CS, a lighter color than Kraft, and colored with pencils and OMS and highlighted with clear glaze pen. I cut image with Nesties circle die. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Bamboo Leaves and edged with brown ink. Both Stamps are from Flourishes "Spring Has Sprung". Assembled the card with Green ribbons from stash following the sketch.  Papers are GKD CS.
