Shelling at the Beach

Hello! If I had a stamp that said "I wish I were there", I would have used it since I wish I were collecting shells at the beach.  But I made this card with what I has ...so it says "Wish you were here..." to go with my card createdwith a Gina K border stamp from Gifts of the Sea set.  I stamped the border of shells and sentiment  on a white cardstock panel with Vintage Photo DOI and colored with Copics.  Finished with coloring some sand beneath the shells and added a brown mat and coral card base.  Quick and easy with a lot of white!

At The Beach

Welcome to my studio! Today I have a card made with Repeat Impressions Sandcastle stamp (Year 2016). I stamped the image with Memento Toffee Crunch ink on White CS and colored with Copics and sponged the sky with Memento Summer Sky ink.  I stamped the image a second time and fussy cut the star fish and added glossy accents to it.  I attached the star fish, 2 real seashells, and a real mini sand dollar to give dimension to the scene.  Stamped the sentiment with DOI Vintage Photo. I finished with a Blue card base and mat of Kraft CS.

Summer Fun

Summer finally arrived last week!  With that in mind, I created this summer theme card using the Sketch below from Retro Rubber Challenge #65.  It turned out being monochromatic since I only used Memento Toffee Crunch ink for stamping the Repeat Impressions Stamps (Sand Castle and Sentiment) and also for sponging the raised areas that I embossed with Spellbinders Impressabilities Sea Scape.  I used Kraft and Ivory Card stocks. I have had the Repeat Impressions stamps since August 2015 ...I know because I used them on a card posted on my blog then.

Seashells and Sand

Hello! This post is a quick and easy card made with Gina K Sand CS, Gina K sentiment and speckle stamps from Gifts from the Sea set, and some stickers from EK Success Sea Shells and Sand assortment.  I have had these stickers for several years and thought of them when I saw this week's  recipe challenge at Less is More to use stickers, sticky labels or peel-offs on your cards.  I used Memento Rich Cocoa ink for the sentiment and sand speckles stamped on the card.  I like the colors and glitter(does not show very well on the photo) on the stickers.

Summer Fun

Welcome!  As summer nears an end, my thoughts turn to fun at the beach.  I created this card with a sketch from The House That Stamps Built challenge using Repeat Impressions Sand Castle and Sentiment stamps and Gina K Seashell stamps from Gifts from the Sea.  Scene was stamped with Memento Toffee Crunch and colored with Copic Markers.  The seashells were stamped, colored, and fussy cut and heat embossed with Clear EP for shine and texture. They almost look like real shells.  Cardstocks used are Gina K Soft Sand and Tan Leather, White  and Kraft CS from stash.  Other Inks used are Dessert Sand and Espresso Truffle.

Beachy Birthday

Hello!  I have challenged myself to use up more of the leftovers on my desk - such as part of a panel that I stenciled with Spellbinders Impressabilities Sea Scape made for this card posted this week.   It is kind of like using dinner leftovers to create another dish. (Last night I made Chicken Potpies from leftover Roasted Chicken).   I simply stamped what was left of the panel with a vertical Birthday sentiment from Repeat Impressions with SU Creamy Caramel ink....just happened to have left a blank area large enough.  I then edged the panel with a Copics marker to match and layered this on a Blue mat also edged with ink and attached to a White card base.  I also embossed the blue layer with the same Impressabilities that I used for stenciling. I hope you can see that.  So with very little effort, I have a second card from leftovers.

Seashells

Hello! I have been playing with some beach themes and decided to do some stenciling with Spellbinders Impressabilities  Sea Scape which is good for embossing as well as stenciling.  I always forget to use them.  Since there are some stenciling challenges this week I pulled them out.  On a White CS I stenciled the sea shells using SU Creamy Caramel and Cameo Coral. I then cut this up into rectangles and used to make a card for the Sketch Challenge #166  at CAS Colours & Sketches.  Finished with a verse from GKD A Gift From The Sea set.
Other Challenges:

CAS on Sunday: Challenge 79 Stencil It

Gull Greetings

Hello!  I have been playing with the Photo Challenge from Just Us Girls and came up with a Seashell filled card with a Gull on the pier. I was inspired by the colors and shapes in the photo.   I used stamps from Gina K Design inked on Ivory CS and colored with Copics.  Added white accents with White Uni-ball pen. I stamped a couple of Starfish and fussy cut to pop up on the shells.   Added some "rope" to the pier posts.  Sponged water on edge with teal ink.  The card base is a Turquoise CS.  Other supplies used: Memento Rich Cocoa, Espresso Truffle Inks, SU Taken with Teal, Creamy Caramel, Cameo Coral. GKD Stamps from Gifts of the Sea,  Inspiration Mosaic, and Gull from Grab Bag.

Summer Fun Gate Fold Card

Hello! A fun summer event is going to the beach and collecting seashells,  This card is a bit different from my usual style but I was trying to convey a feel of summer and the beach using bright tropical colors on this Gate Fold card.  I came across this GKD Washi Tape (won in a GKD grab bag) and thought the colors were great with the Blue textured CS from my stash.
I used stamps from GKD Gifts of the Sea by Melanie for the shell and sentiment.  I trimmed the shell after stamping and  raised up the center with a bit of foam for dimension.  I used a real shell to hold the card closed.
Other supplies: GKD Soft Sand and Tomato Soup CS,  Memento Toffee Crunch ink, Versamark, Copper EP, Circle Die Foam Dots.

Deep Blue Sea

Hello!  This card is for the Mix It Up Monday Challenge - Over the Deep Blue Sea at Stamp TV.  Tricia has asked us to makeWater Themed Card.   We can use nautical images, rain, snow... ANYTHING that has water!  Since I do not have many Nautical Theme Stamps from GKD (note to self....buy some GKD nautical stamps), I had to stretch my resources for this card.  I selected a verse from Melanie's Gifts from the Sea set and seashells from her A Year of Borders and combined them with a water looking Pattern from GKD Poolside paper pad to create this water themed design.  Other supplies used were: GKD Soft Sand CS, Metallic Copper CS, Versamark, Copper EP, SU Blue ink, and Nesties Label 4 Dies.  The embossed verse was recessed under the copper frame.

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Inspired by Coastal Living

What fun is time at the coast!  One of the fun things that I do is collect seashells and I used some of the very small ones that I have in my stash to use for cards.  The Mod Squad Challenge this week is to create a project inspired by this new fascination and trend with all things coastal!  I used the blues and sand colors that make me think of the coast and threw in sand paper for the look of sand.  I stamped shells using GKD Stamps from Gifts From the Sea by Melanie. I cut them out and mixed with some actual shells to complete this birthday card.  The sentiment from the same set was stamped directly on the sand paper...never tried that before.

Challenges:
Mod Squad Challenge: Coastal  Inspiration-create a project inspired by this new fascination with all things coastal!
Alphabet Challenge: N is for Natural.  Seashells are my natural items.
613 Avenue Create Challenge: Anything Goes- no options this week.

"Silly Shells'

Copics, Memento Markers
Papers: Bazill Blue CS and Ivory CS in Top,  Kraft and White CS in Bottom

Vintage Vacation at the Beach

Sugar Creek Hollow has a fun challenge for us this week. They want us to make a vintage, shabby chic or primitive card that depicts a VACATION AT THE BEACH.  This challenge is perfect for me this week since I am at the beach and I searched for shells on the beach to use on my vintage card.  I used a great graphic of a Bathing Beauty from Graphics Fairy that I found searching the web.  I printed the image using a sepia finish and then added some pink highlights using a Copics marker. I tore the edges of the image before attaching it to a mat from a BasicGrey paper pad. I then used a card base of textured blue CS. The shells were randomly placed on the sandy beach in the graphic.  I also colored the starfish and added some Glossy Accents which I hope show on the card.  I used a sentiment from Flourishes stamp set "Beach Life" stamped in Memento  Rose Bud ink ( I included an enlarged photo so that you can  read).  I also finished the inside with leftover scraps and another sentiment from the same set.
I love how this card turned out with the great vintage print.
Supplies:
Graphics Fairy Image

Stamps: Flourishes "Beach Life"
Inks: Memento Rose Bud Ink,  AngelPink Marker
Copics: R81
Papers: BasicGrey Pattern, Blue CS from Stash
Glossy Accents
Shells from Captiva Island Beach
