Merriest Wishes

Welcome!  I was playing with Power Poppy digital images from the Merriest Berries set (which I have never used) and came up with a couple of one layer cards. I printed the images and sentiments on GKD heavyweight white card stock which is perfect for coloring with Copics because there is absolutely no bleeding on this paper.  And that makes for a great luxury weight card. I used Glossy Accents on the berries for some shine and texture.   I also used Sakura Clearstar and Gel pens on the thread in the ribbon but those elements do not show well in the photos.  But the richness, shine, and texture shows great in real life on what I think are very elegant CAS cards.

Life's an Adventure

Welcome to my studio!  Today my card was inspired by The Library Challenge and the book The Tiger who came to tea.  I was not familiar with this book, but... would not having tea with a tiger be a life adventure?  So I used the sentiment Life's an Adventure with the image of the Tiger.  I stamped the sentiment stamp and the Tiger stamp with Memento Black Tuxedo ink and colored the image with Copics and a white gel pen.  Added some highlights to his whiskers with Stardust pen and to his eyes with Glossy Accents. I was very pleased with my coloring of the image.  I was also inspired by the bright colors of the cover to find a colorful Pattern Paper for my background and a Yellow (color of the table) card stock for my base.  The striped paper was from the Kaiser Craft paper pad called Jungle Bug Collection.  How appropriate? I completed the card with a brown mat underneath the image and added some Orange Dewdrops.  I attached the image at a angle.....such seemed like the thing to do for an adventurous design.  All supplies were from my stash.

Five Gold Rings

Hello!  Continuing with my series of The Twelve Days of Christmas cards.  These cards are made with a set called "Twelve Days of Christmas" from Creative Stamping magazine that I got last Christmas.  I have 2 cards made for the fifth day....five gold rings.  For the top card, I stamped the tree image on Green CS with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Gold EP.  I colored in the flowers and hearts with Pencils and the star with Gold Metallic pen. Added Diamond Stickles to the 5 rings. Fussy cut the tree and attached to a Red Card Base.  Heat embossed the sentiments with Gold EP.
The second card uses the same stamps and heat embossing with Gold EP but I did on a Textured Green CS. Colored the Hearts with Copics. Also used the Diamond Stickles on the rings and also on the star.  I colored in and outlined the tree with a Clearstar pen. Attached the Green Panel to a Dark Red Card Base.

Sparkly Flowers for a Birthday

Welcome to my studio this Monday!  Cannot believe July is almost over.  Today I have a card made with Repeat Impressions stamp Flower Power Background.  I stamped the image on Watercolor paper with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Stampendous White Pearls Translucent  EP and then water colored with DOI Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemon, and Spiced Marmalade. I added some sparkle to some of the flowers with Sakura Clear Star Pen.  Stamped a strip of Vellum with a GKD sentiment with the Spiced Marmalade and heat embossed with Clear EP.  Wrapped this around the image and  attached to a White CS panel and then a Yellow Card Base.

Fun on the 4th

Hello!  Part of my fun on the 4th included some time in my studio creating some cards.  I made this just for fun card as it is too late to send for this July.....but I guess I could send for greetings in any month since I did not specify which 4th to be happy??

Glittery Cupcake

Hello!  Today I am sharing a card made using a stencil from Gina K Designs to sponge DOI Picked Raspberry on a strip of white CS that I fussy cut and layered on to a die cut rectangle of Glitter paper with a layer of Pink attached to a white layer with a pink card base.  Used Clear Star pink on the swirl for some shine.  I finished by adding a pre-cut 3D die cut Cupcake from Valentine Crafts and stamped a sentiment with the same ink. Followed the sketch below. The cupcake was actually recycled from an older card that I had made but never sent.

Starry Sky

Hello!  Today I am playing with some challenges featuring night skies.  I began with a background that I had made with Distress Oxide Inks and had set aside in my saves.  I added more sponging with the inks until I liked the look.  I then stamped Repeat Impressions Rocky Shore Vista across the lower part with a couple of the Distress Oxide inks.  Added some stars and shine with a Sakura Clear Star pen. Stamped Hero Arts sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed first with Silver EP and then a second time with Gold EP to soften the silver.  Used a Gold Metallic CS for the card base. 

Challenges:

 The House that Stamps Built: Inspiration Palette Challenge a1518.  I tried to capture all the colors and the layout of the scene in the challenge. 

Double D Challenges: The Moon and/or The Stars.  Used a lot of stars in my sky.

Bee Well

Another Post

I just finished a card for Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge with a theme of bees...I captured 3 views of bees on a sunflower.   I stamped the image a couple of times and die cut 3 circles showing the bees up close.  The images were stamped with black ink and colored with Copics.  Added some glitter to the wings with a Clear Star pen.  Used an embossed (CB EF Wickerweave) Yellow CS for the background and Rust card base.  Added Green Satin ribbon with the sentiment.  Stamps are all old ones from MFP sets but I do not have the names.

Christmas Wreath from a Flower

Welcome!   I have been playing with Distress Oxide inks again and was inspired by a video by Sandy Allnock  to create a wreath.   I used an old Poinsettia stamp (about 1 inch) from Poinsettias and Boxwoods ( had at least since 2012) by Flourishes ( designer Marcella Hawley) and stamped in a circle design with Lucky Clover ink on a watercolor paper panel.  I used a water brush to fill in the color and make it more abstract looking.  Used Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick inks with a Copic and Clear Star pen to add decorations with a small circle stamp, bow stamp and a pine cone stamp both from GKD.  Added some Nuvo Crystal Dots of Rhubarb Crumble.   Added Sentiment and Snowflakes cut with Cheery Lynn dies and a Card Base all in a Shimmering  Pink Pearl CS.

Christmas Card for a Friend

Hello! It's never too early to make Christmas cards and I decided to make this one with some Power Poppy stamps...both clear and digital ones.  I printed the wreath from Wreath Succulent & Baubles digital stamps and the Merry Christmas sentiment from Chickadee In Barberry digitals on White CS.  To make this a special Christmas card for a friend, I stamped the friends sentiment from Sassy Succulents clear stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the wreath with Copics G000, G20, G82, BG11, BG05, BG72, and Y28 and added some sparkle and shine with Wink of Stella and Clearstar Pen.   I used a Gold Simmer Metallic CS for the base and a layer of White CS that I colored the edges with Copics to coordinate with colors in the wreath.  This is a quick way to have a coordinating CS that is a perfect match.

A Moose in a Sleigh

Hello!  Thought I'd make a cute Christmas card for this week's Merry Monday Challenge -to use a Moose on your card.  I had this cute image in my Silhouette cut n print files from Stinky Cute.  The color was a bit off in the print out but I just found some pattern paper from Paper Sweeties paper pad that picked up the same hues.  I kind of like the final result.  I added some texture and sparkle to the image with Sukura Clear Star pen, Stickles Crystal, and Ranger Liquid Pearls. Also edged the sentiment with a glitter pen. I edged the image with a Red Copic marker-gives the look of another layer without the weight and attached to a mat of the pattern paper and then to a red card base.

Bride with Shine

Hello!  Today I have been playing with shine and glitter on a Wedding card.  It is sooo hard to show the results in a photo so I have shared 2 photos of the card so that hopefully you will see the shine achieved with Sakura Stardust and Wink of Stella Pens.  More shine and shimmer is included in the Gold Shimmer CS by DCWV and the Metallic Gold Bells cut with the Cameo.  I was inspired by several challenges in the making of this card using a Digi Image from A Day for Daisies. The digi was printed on GKD heavyweight CS.

Note: I have a new Epson printer because my HP printer quit feeding heavier paper and struggles to print even after I cleaned the rollers and other maintenance.  For my birthday, I asked for Epson SureColor P400 which I can say is a dream printer for a crafter.  And my DH made my birthday wish come true.

More Christmas Cards

 

Hello!  I am back with some more cards for some challenges about to close. So this will be a quick and short post. 
The first card was made with Die Cut Silver Snowflake that I had in my leftover stash and I have no idea where it came from or the die used.  I just attached it to Bazzill Blue Card base embossed with Cuttlebug EF Snowflakes that I inked with Brilliance White ink.  Finished with an Annabelle sentiment stamped and embossed with Silver EP on vellum and fancy cut.

This second card was created with white textured CS embossed with a Darice EF Christmas Tree.  I simply added Gold Liquid Pearls to the stars and ornaments with some Sakura Clearstar sparkle.  The GKD sentiment was heat embossed with Gold EP.   I attached this to a White Card Base.

Nativity Card

 

Hello everyone.  My card today is another Christmas one made with a Silhouette Cut File Simple Nativity.  The black silhouette was attached to a pattern paper from American Crafts Kringle  & Co pad and then another pattern before adhering to Bazzill Berry Sensation Card Base.  Stamped a simple sentiment from GKD in black ink.

Question of the day: Should Mary be on the left or right?  In the original file she is on the right but I accidentally reversed the silhouette when I assembled the above card.  When looking at other Nativity images the arrangement of the Holy Couple varies.

On the right is another card that I made last year with this file but arranged same as in file.

World Card Making Day

 

Hello! As today is World Card Making Day, I must spend the day or some of it making cards.  And since it has been raining all day,  what else is a girl to do?  House cleaning, ironing....NOT!  I thought I'd join in the fun at Power Poppy and make a card for their challenge.  Check it out at Power Poppy-The Blog.

How to Play: Make sure to use all 3 Elements                     

1. Use the sketch as inspiration

2. Use non-traditional colors to create  a holiday card

3. Add a  little sparkle or bling

 

Below is my card that I made with Power Poppy Poinsettia Stamp Set.  I stamped the image with Memento Espresso Truffle ink and colored with Copics and used Wink of Stella and Sakura Clear Star Pen for some sparkle. Following the challenge sketch, I used pattern papers from Fancy Pants Timbergrove pad, Cheery Lynn Doily Die, a Nesties Oval Die to create the elements for my design.   The sentiment was stamped with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink and edged with a Copic.  To finish, I added some rhinestones to the center of the flower and a snowflake.  They were added to make sure I had some bling that showed since the sparkle on the image is hard to see in the photo. Kraft, Mint Green, White card stocks were used along with several patterns.

Happy Penguin with a Gift

I have a really big Penguin to share today....he is the big focus of my card.  I normally would print a smaller version of this digi from Di's Digis that I had in my files but I decided to have him fill the card....after all he is for a challenge to use a penguin.  I colored the image with Copics and added some "Fur" to his hat with Stickles and stripes to his scarf with a Glaze pen. There is sparkle to the ribbon and fringe made with Clear Star pen but you know how hard that is to photograph and be able to see.  The Pattern Paper is from American crafts Hollyday pad as well as the sentiment which was printed on the margin of the paper.

Jacob Turns 4

Hello!  Today I have a fun card that I made for my great-nephew who celebrates his 4th Birthday this week.  He is such a super little boy that I had to make him a Super Hero Card.  I used Silhouette files and my Cameo to cut out the Super Hero Boy and Sentiment.  I used Photoshop to print Jacob's face to personalize his card. I used a Crate Paper pattern as the background for the image. I hope he thinks this is a Super card!
