Owls Are Cute!

Hello! I had some fun playing with a Hoot Owl digital image from Beccy's Place.  I used her colored version of Hoot and printed it on white cardstock with a computer generated sentiment.  For fun I added some brown and yellow Flocking to his feathers and Glossy Accents to his eyes.  I love how his glossy eyes pop out on the card.  Rounded the corners of the trimmed image with a corner punch, attached it to a patterned paper mat and brown card base, and finished with 3 green gems. Isn't he the cutest?

Barbecue Theme

Hello!  With this being Labor Day, our plans usually include grilling or barbecues.  I was inspired to create a tag for the  Tag You're It! Challenge #95 which has a Barbecue Theme.  I used a stamp from Jessica Lynn, an owl barbecuing, and added stamps from my stash by Flourishes and Mark's Finest Papers.  I stamped the owl with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with Copics.  Ignited the fire in the grill with some Diamond Stickles.  Trimmed the image and added some Red and White check patterned paper from scraps and Red twine. He is such a cute cook!  Will use this tag for a birthday gift.

Who Is Amazing?

Hello! Or should I say Whoo! Whoo!
I am not sure what inspired this card with the Owl and Trees, but I pulled out the Jane's Doodles stamp set Wise Owl and began to play with it.  I decided to use colors Gray, Yellow, Kraft and White from the Color Throwdown challenge.  Made a background of Trees with Memento ink on white CS.  Stamped the Owl on Kraft, Yellow, and Gray CS's and fussy cut and paper pieced the pieces to shape the Owl that I sat on the stamped branch.  Finished with some Baby Button eyes and the sentiment stamped in Yellow and Kraft inks. Placed on Yellow card base.
Challenges:

You're a Hoot!

Hello!  Rainy day here in Ohio.  Good day to houseclean or make cards?  This card was inspired by Just Us Girls photo challenge shown below. I pulled out an old Owl Stamp and sentiments from my stash to create a simple card with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, Memento markers, Patterned Paper, White and Rust CS, and Oval dies.   The owl was heat embossed with Clear EP before coloring and the panel of patterned paper was embossed with Polka Dots EF.  Branch was made with a scrap of Brown CS and Brown Marker.

Boo! Boo!

Hello!  I had decided not to make Halloween cards this year as I have a stash of them.  But Halloween cards are so much fun to make and I have a stash of supplies.  One of my  fave Halloween stamps is this Northwoods Owl stamp from 2009.   I stamped it on a shimmery gray CS with Versamark  and embossed with a Black Mix EP.  I sponged the moon with Memento Dandelion and Morocco inks and the sky with Memento Paris Dusk and Grape Jelly inks. Added some details to the owl with Gold Metallic and Orange glaze pens. Isn't he the Spookiest Owl you've ever seen? Finished with Black Card Base, layer of Orange CS embossed with Cuttlebug EF Forest Branches, some spooky spider confetti, and Mark Finest Papers sentiment from 2012 I'm Going Batty set.

Challenges:
Retro Rubber: Challenge 49 Boo!  It's Halloween.  Stamps from 2009 and 2012.
Addicted to Stamps Challenge: #133 Embossing Wet or Dry.  Used both type embossing on this card.
Addicted to Stamps and More: Challenge 215 Photo Inspiration.  Was inspired by the spooky moon in the Photo.

Wise Old Owl

Hello my friends!  I seldom create more than one card for the same challenge, but when I show my DH the graphic, shown below right, for The Shabby Tea Room challenge, my DH spotted the owl on the upper right corner.  I thought...why not make him a card that features an owl and I had the perfect  embellishment to feature.  I recently won a package of embroidered embellishments from Brenda at craftybrensembroideredtoppers.weebly.com including this adorable Owl.   I used some of the same elements that I used in my first card for the challenge.  I simply  made the card with Darice EF Pine Branches, a Strip of Polka Dot pattern, a Mark Finest Papers stamp, and the Owl..
Other supplies: Memento Rich Cocoa and Tangelo inks, Light Gray CS, Scrap of Brown CS, Fussy Cut Branch, Glossy Accents for adhesive.

Challenges:
The Shabby Tea Room: Challenge is Week #262 Colors and Patterns. My Owl is just the right colors for this challenge.
City Crafter Challenge Blog: Week 285 Creatures of the Night.
My Owl may now be spooky but he is cute!

So this card is for my DH.....he is just a bit of a hoot, but....he is really  more a Wise Old Owl.

Have a great day! I love reading your comments. Theresa
