Flamingo Says Aloha

Hello! Just playing with some old stamps and glitter pattern paper and came up with a "just for fun" card.  The Flamingo and Sentiment are from Mark's Finest Papers set Flamingo on Vacation and stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics and Glaze pens.  Added a strip of glitter paper from DCWV Tahiti Beach Stock and some fussy cut  glittery flowers from the same pattern paper to the one layer card.  I also added some glitter with a Stardust Pen to the shirt.

Happy Butterfly

Hello!  I created this card by casing the designer at Happy Little Stampers Case The Designer Challenge.   I pretty much used the same layout and theme but changed the stamps and colors. I used GKD Stamps from Elegant Flowers, Unforgettable, Tropical Flowers, and Hope Is Faith (butterfly) sets which I stamped with Versamark and embossed with White EP on Navy CS.  I decided to leave some of the loose EP to give the background a splattered effect.  Was that planned or by accident?  Only the card maker knows!  Added some interest to the flower centers with a Yellow Glaze pen.  I stamped and heat embossed the Butterfly on Yellow Vellum and fussy cut it.  I used a Cheery Lynn Die to cut Happy from the image layer and then inlaid the word cut from White CS.  By using just the word Happy on the front, I can complete the inside to use for Birthday or other occasion.

Azaleas for Spring

 

Hello!  It has been awhile since I have entered a Power Poppy Challenge.  And Power Poppy has some of my favorite stamps, so why not make a card for their challenge which is just what I did.
Using a favorite spring theme set, Azalea, I made this card with GKD heavy weight CS ( Copics do not bleed thru this paper).  I stamped  2 images on the inside with Memento Espresso Truffle ink and 1 sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa. These were lined up with round openings cut with circle dies on the front of the card.  After coloring with Copics , I added some accents with Glaze pens, did some sponging with Memento New Sprout ink, and added Glossy Accents to the vase.  Back to the front which was covered with a panel of a Peachy Colored CS, I stamped the small Azalea image with Versamark and heat embossed with clear EP.  Then I finished with some dots using Orange Glaze pen.

Thinking of You

 

Welcome!  In making this card,  I played with the Tuesday Morning Sketch # 340 shown below and some pattern papers from My Mind's Eye.  Inspired by the colors of the flowers, I used DI Abandoned Coral to stamp the singular flower on ivory CS and colored it with Memento Rose Bud ink and added highlights with Glaze Pens.  The floral stamp is GKD from A Year of Flowers 2

and the sentiment is GKD from Stippled Nature.  I added 2 rows of "Stitching" by paper piercing and colored with a glaze pen.  I used Ivory CS for the card base and Coral CS for the layering mats.

Spring Pink Tulips

Another cloudy morn in Florida, so I am posting a card for the Mix It Up Monday Challenge at Stamp TV.  We are to make a Spring Look with no Black used on our creation.   As Pink and Green are my favorite spring colors and tulips are one of my favorite spring flowers, I combined them in my card using Gina K Design tulip stamp from Melanie's A Year of Flowers 2 and a sentiment from Stippled Nature.
 Other supplies:  Memento Green and Pink inks, Pink and Green Pencils, White and Pink CS,  Yellow Glaze Pen, Cuttlebug EF Gingham,  snippet of a ribbon from a tag on a clothing purchase.

Improvising Card

Hello! Just a quick post to share a card that I was trying to improvise for a resist emboss challenge.   As I have no embossing powder or heat gun with me in my remote "studio",  I played with a glaze pen to try to create the look of emboss resist technique on this card.  But then I only have colored glaze pens and no clear one that I wanted to use.  So it did not turn out as I hoped but the results were a pretty card.  Supplies used:  GKD Stippled Nature set, DI Fossilized Amber and Stormy Sky, White CS, Shiny Yellow Card Stock, MME Stripe Pattern Paper, Yellow Glaze Pen.  The Yellow card base is much better in real life...shiny and brighter.  I decided this did not substitute for the technique but I like the card.

A Chilly Time on the Prairie

Yes it is COLD!!! And I was inspired by a photo challenge at The House That Stamps Built to create this card.  My card is a bit reminiscent of the House on the Prairie.  When I saw the inspiration photo below, I immediately thought of some Repeat Impressions stamps that I have not used since I bought them a few weeks ago.  I pulled out the Log Cabin, Shade of the Elm (tree), Clouds and sentiment stamps and began with a Blue CS panel.  Using the technique of masking  I stamped the cabin and 2 elm trees (minus the chairs and shade) with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and stamped and embossed the clouds with Brilliance Moonlight White ink and White Puff EP.   I colored the cabin and trees with brown pencils and a yellow glaze pen.  I then played with Liquid Pearls and Frosted Lace Stickles to get the snowy effect that I wanted. I also sponged some white on the sky.  I liked the card at this point and made a photo shown above.  But then I stamped a sentiment "Time To Chill Out" with a cloud just for a bit of Humor. I fussy cut and temporarily  attached the sentiment  to the card for a second photo below.   I am not sure if I will use with or without a sentiment.  Any Thoughts?
I finished with a Bright Blue Mat on a Card Base of Chocolate Brown.

Holly Jolly

Hello! Taking time out to make a Christmas card for some challenges.  I used an old stamp from Creative Clear Stamps Holiday Sentiments for my featured sentiment stamped in Memento Northern Pine ink and cut with Spellbinder Frame die and layered on a Red Frame.  I also stamped some additional Holly with Flourishes stamp (Doves and Holly)  above and below the words.  Used Red glaze pen on the berries and Clearstar pen on the leaves after coloring.  Pattern Paper is from Pebbles Welcome Christmas pad and Red CS for base is from stash.

Summer Sweets

A favorite sweet fruit of summer is strawberries, especially when served with cream.   A favorite stamp set of mine is Flourishes Strawberries that I have used for this sweet card.   I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on cream (ivory) CS and colored with Copics,  White Pencil, and Yellow Glaze pen.  The sentiment was stamped with SU Always Artichoke ink.  I cut this out with Spellbinders Devine Eloquence Die and attached to a Red card base.  A simple but elegant card.

Poppies with Pencils

 Hello! Thanks for stopping by.  Today my card is made with a new stamp set from Power Poppy called Poppies.  I stamped the image with Memento Espresso Truffle ink and colored with Koh-I-Noor pencils and OMS and used a Black Glaze pen on the center of the Poppy.  I trimmed the edge and layered the image on Red Paper. The Black Background embossed with Cuttlebug EF Gingham and the striped panel are from Fancy Pants Trend Setter paper pad. The card base is GKD Tomato Soup. I finished with a sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and a Black Satin Ribbon and Double Bow.

Spring Lilacs

Hello! I used Power Poppy Digital stamps French Lilac and Sentiment from Geraniums Digi  for this card.   I water colored the Lilacs printed on water color paper with Distress Ink Stormy Sky, Broken China,  Forest Moss, and Brushed Corduroy. Added a hint of lavender with Hero Arts Water Marker.  I fussy cut the Flower and attached with foam tape to an embossed layer of a Pattern Paper from Our Daily Bread designs Shabby Rose Collection The sentiment printed on the same paper was cut with Nesties circle die and matted with a Circle of Green CS. The Card Base is GKD Fresh Asparagus CS.  Finished with Green Raffia Ribbon.
Other supplies used: Red Glaze Pen and Glossy Accents on ladybug, Cuttlebug EF Divine Swirls.

Daisies and Butterfly

Hello! Today I have combined 2 stamps from Repeat Impressions from Beautiful Days. I wanted the flowers to be the color of coneflowers.  I stamped the Daisies & Butterfly with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored the Daisies with Copics R20,59, 85, G99, YG93,Y05 and the Butterfly with Glaze pens and Glitter pens. I attached the image to a Yellow Card frame with a window cut with a rectangle die.  I also had embossed this with Cuttlebug EF Gingham.  The sentiment was stamped on Vellum with Versamark and embossed with Zing Chestnut EP and layered on the image.  This was attached to a white card base.

Live In the Moment

Hello! I hope everyone had a great weekend.  It has been very cold here...even a bit of snow today.
I spent the weekend working on a series of 10 cards with a Bicycle Theme which I plan to share over the next few days.  This one was made with Heartfelt Creations Celebrate the Journey Paper Collection and a Bicycle Stamp from  Papers and Such. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Pink and Black Glaze pens  with some Clear Star Pen accents( hard to see but they are there).

A Little Gold

Hello!  I have a One Layer Card with "a little gold" to enter for some challenges.  I used White CS and stamped Bells from GKD Very Merry Christmas set that I embossed with Gold EP and colored with Gold Copic Marker and Red Glaze Pen.  I framed the image by tracing around a Nestabilities die with Versamark pen and emossed with gold.  I drew another frame with a Gold pen inside the first frame. I finished with a simple word Joy in gold.

Bittersweet Wreath

Second Post Today:
Hello!  Sometimes I get stuck on a stamp set and have to make several cards with the set.   Here I have another wreath card using the Bittersweet Wreath from Flourishes Wreaths of All Seasons.  I stamped the wreath on Ivory CS with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored the berries with Memento Red marker.  This looks like a quick card but it took awhile to color the berries. Then I decided to recolor with a Red Glaze pen to give some texture which you cannot see in the photo but it did make a difference. Since I thought this card could be for Thanksgiving or Christmas, I decided to make it a Thinking of You card that  I could use for either occasion. I stamped the sentiment from Avery Elle with Memento Rhubarb Stalk and added a row of embossing with Cuttlebug EF Pop Culture border. Card base of Ivory was layered with a Brown Wood Grain Pattern from Fancy Pants pad and a mat of Red CS from scraps.  Finished with a small Check Bow for a homespun look.  I really like the somewhat rustic look of my card.

Birthday Butterflies

 

Welcome!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I love Monarch butterflies and it is a thrill to see them in the garden.  I attempted to make these Butterflies look like Monarchs by using Cheery Lynn dies and cutting butterflies out of Black CS and the matching angel wings of Orange CS.  I colored spots with White Gel , Orange Gelly Roll, Yellow Glaze, Orange Glaze, and Clearstar Pens .  The yellow markings do not show that well.....all looks orange.  But I think they look good enough to be Monarchs. I made my background by embossing a very light gray CS with Cuttlebug EF Leafy Branch and inked the raised areas with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink.  I then cut a Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish out of Green CS and attached that loosely to the  background that I created.  I attached the flying "Monarchs" with glue dots  and added some Orange Dew Drops.  I attached this to a dotted pattern paper from Echo Parks Apothecary Emporium pad and a card base of Orange CS. The birthday sentiment from Winnie & Walter was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I really like the results of this card.

Fluttering By to Say Hi

Hello!  I love summer and the lovely butterflies that it brings.  I have not seen any blue butterflies in our neck of the woods but I thought this was one a  great entry for the challenge of Blues at The House That Stamps Built.  I used a blue glaze pen and Distress inks to color the butterfly image and background.  I layered this on an embossed layer of blue CS then a Patterned Layer and attached to a lighter blue card base.  I followed the Sweet Sunday sketch finishing with the sentiment on a ribbon banner and some sequins on the embossing.

Colorful Summer Dragonfly

Summer is coming to an end soon but the dragonflies are still in the garden.   The ones that we have are a beautiful iridescent blue and green that I have tried to capture on my card.  I had forgotten this PSX stamp until I saw my friend Joy's Dragonfly card on her blog here and  I pulled out the stamp to play with.  I also was inspired by this week's challenge at Just Us Girls to use blues and greens.  I colored the image with Glaze pens .....which gave a very shiny finish. Added some doodling with the black glaze pen. Added Pear Tart coloring to the edge of the image and looped edge ribbon to finish.  I thought the pattern paper was a perfect combo.

Poppies are such fun flowers! For this birthday card I have used a digi image Vintage Poppy Cluster from A Day For Daisies with a sketch from Papertake weekly challenge.   I added some Coloring, Pattern Papers and Buttons to complete the design.
