Embossed Silhouette

Hello! I was truly inspired by Power Poppy Blog Monday Inspire Me post about Embossed Silhouette.  I was so inspired that I immediately CASE'd Julie's card.  I even used a flower stamp from the same set that she used- Vibrant Thanks set- but I used the Bee Balm  instead of the Coreopsis.  I also did sponging very similar to what she did.  I simply followed her steps to create this card so please check out her post ….she explained everything much better that I can. 

Supplies used: Power Poppy Vibrant Thanks and Simply Camelia stamp sets; White, Fresh Asparagus, and Faded Brick GKD cardstocks; Fried Brick and Peeled Paint DOI, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Versamark Ink; White EP; Copic Black Multiliner pen and marker; Dewdrops.

Creative Confetti:  Frame It Up.  Simply framed my image with layers of card stock and also framed the edges of image with a black Copic.

Clean and Simple 2 Ways

Hello!  I have two cards inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.   For both I used a vine stamp from Mixed Media Stamps but used different green inks for each. The first one is a one layer card using Memento Bamboo Leaves ink.  I finished this one with glittery pink and gold heart stickers and a banner  die cut from GKD Grass Green CS with a GKD sentiment stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with White EP.

The second card was stamped with DOI Peeled Paint for the vine and DOI Faded Lipstick for the GKD sentiment.  I added punched pink flowers from my stash and a die cut with the sentiment. Attached to a card base of GKD Fresh Asparagus CS.

Happy Birthday from the Jungle

Hello! The Case the Designer challenge at Happy Little Stampers this month is  to choose one of their cards from June - October that inspires us and CASE the card.  I chose the design by Carol from July that is shown below left.  My card was made with some old stamps from Mark's Finest Papers using some pattern paper from DCWV Safari Chic pad.

CAS Christmas

Hello! Another Christmas card with some foil and gold embossing.  I used Gina K Designs stamps from Peace & Joy and Joyful Holidays. The image was heat embossed with Gold EP, colored with markers and fussy cut. I attached 2 strips of Clearsnap foil with tape on white CS and heat embossed the sentiment.  This was placed on Green Foil CS from DCWV.  Easy and quick.

Shades of Fall

Hello!  The Mix It Up Monday challenge at Stamp TV is to CASE a card by DT Karen Hightower.  I chose her card Christmas Greenery #1 (shown below) and stayed true to her layout and use of pattern papers but changed the theme to  fall, the twine to raffia, and the colors to autumn shades.  Supplies used: GKD Pattern Papers from Sunkissed Autumn and The Simple Things pads, Ivory, Pumpkin Spice, Sweet Mango CS; GKD Stamps from Stippled Nature (Leaf) and Old Country Roses (Verse); SU Really Rust and More Mustard inks; Raffia from stash.

Roses to Thank You

Hello!  I have another card that I CASE'd for a challenge...this time for the challenge at Time Out and the artist is Ardyth whose card is shown below.  I copied almost everything-the layout, theme, and the word Thanks.  I used a strip of green foil at the bottom edge instead of Gold and added some sequins for the dots.  The Green strip foil at the bottom edge of the card is the same as the die cut word but does not show very well as  foil in the photo.

Happy Bird

Hello!  I have a Clean and Simple card today that I made for the Happy Little Stampers Case the Designer challenge.  We are to case a card by Asa Johansson shown on left. I used a From the Heart digital stamp Surprised Bird Brain to stay with the bird theme.  I printed the image and colored with Copics and added glitter to the eyelids with Sukura Stardust pen.  I used a Happy stamp from Repeat Impressions and Surprise stamp from Gina K Designs.  Inks used are Versafine Onyx Black and SU Taken with Teal.

Flowers with Love and Hugs

 

Hello!  Today I  CASE'd a card by Gloria Lee shown on the right.  I did not use masking as she did but used a die cut heart for the center of the card. I stamped Repeat Impressions Flower Power Background with versamark ink on White CS and heat embossed with Gold EF and colored with various markers.  I stamped the scalloped heart  with Repeat Impressions sentiment and edged with a Gold Metallic Pilot pen  before attaching to a layer of white foam craft and adhered to the card. Used a GKD Green CS for card base.  My card used the same colors with a floral design, the heart in the center, and a similar sentiment.

CASE this Sketch

 

Hello!  I was playing with some new GKD Stamps and created this CAS card using the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #179.  I used Flowers from Birds &  Blooms, Sentiment from Wild Blossoms, and stems from Old Country Rose to create an open wreath.  I stamped all with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored the petals and leaves with Pink Copics.  The card base and label are GKD Pink CS.

CAS on Sunday: #86 Black and White and One Color.  Used pink as my color.

Happy Butterfly

Hello!  I created this card by casing the designer at Happy Little Stampers Case The Designer Challenge.   I pretty much used the same layout and theme but changed the stamps and colors. I used GKD Stamps from Elegant Flowers, Unforgettable, Tropical Flowers, and Hope Is Faith (butterfly) sets which I stamped with Versamark and embossed with White EP on Navy CS.  I decided to leave some of the loose EP to give the background a splattered effect.  Was that planned or by accident?  Only the card maker knows!  Added some interest to the flower centers with a Yellow Glaze pen.  I stamped and heat embossed the Butterfly on Yellow Vellum and fussy cut it.  I used a Cheery Lynn Die to cut Happy from the image layer and then inlaid the word cut from White CS.  By using just the word Happy on the front, I can complete the inside to use for Birthday or other occasion.

Popping in with Poppies

 I am sharing a Card that I made "casing" another card designer for a challenge at Happy Little Stampers. I stamped Power Poppy Poppies stamps and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black on white CS.  Using a Rectangle die, I cut a section from the stamped area and colored this area with Copics R29,YR07, Y06, YG95,YG63.  I attached the center to foam cut the same size and attached both stamped sections  to the card base of Yellow CS.   I pretty much followed the layout of Joyce's card but used different stamps and colors.  I like using the foam to keep the card from being crushed in during mailing.

Flowers for a Birthday

 Hello! Today I am playing with a sketch that has a vertical sentiment and I have some great vertical sentiments from Repeat Impressions and chose to use the Birthday one.  I combined this with a stamp from Power Poppy's Countryside Bouquet set that I stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle ink on Ivory Textured CS and colored with Markers.  To make the petals show up very white, I used a Versamark pen and embossed them with White EP.  Also embossed  the yellow center with WOW EP California Sunshine.  The flowers really look great in real life. The sentiment is in SU Always Artichoke ink and the base is GKD Fresh Asparagus CS.

Spotlight on a CASE

 

 Hello!  I am running late posting my entry for the Less Is More challenge to CASE a DT card.  I chose to CASE Chrissie's card shown on the right.  I copied the layout and used a Floral stamp for my design.   My added touch was using the spotlight technique.  The stamps that I used were GKD Say It With Flowers (sentiment)  and Flowers are Forever (flower) with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I colored the spotlight area with Copics Y13, RV14,23 and Memento Green Marker.

Friends are Forever

Hello!!  I have been MIA for a week.  My DH and I were spending time with my Mother in Tennessee who celebrated her 95th birthday this past Monday.  Now I am trying to catch up with some of the challenges that I follow.

This card is for Mod Squad Challenge ....Joyce is asking us to CASE a card by anyone we like.  I saw a card by Karen Hightower, GKD DT Moderator that I liked very much and chose it to CASE. See her lovely card here.  I really liked the wood background made with GKD Cranberry Tart CS and white ink and used the same on my card.  My card base is white CS and layered with Honey Mustard CS. I used stamps from GKD Friends Are Forever set which I inked with Memento Tuxedo Black on an Oval of White CS and colored with Copics.  I added some sponging with Memento Summer Sky and finished with a Black Satin Bow and Black Gems from stash.  I even added some falling petals just as Karen did on her card.

To Make a Card Or Clean House

My plan today was to get an early start on some neglected housework but my urge to make a card won out.  I am blaming that on the challenge at City Crafter blog who by the way are celebrating their 4th Birthday.  Their challenge is to CASE one of the cards shown on their blog today.  I chose to CASE the card shown at left.  I seldom Case cards because I am not sure how much to copy....it does mean Copy And Share Everything, doesn't it?
I may have gone too far because I used the layout, theme, ribbon, pennants, twine, flowers, stitching, and bicycle theme.  I even tried to mimic the same pattern papers.  You be the judge of if I over did the CASEing.  But anyway I like the way the card turned out.
