Using Some of My Stash

Welcome to the studio!  I have created some cards using some pre-embossed panels of white cardstock that I had filed away.....not sure why I did this but I have a stack of several panels embossed with several different embossing folders.  I chose 3 precut and pre-embossed panels with Cuttlebug Leafy Branch EF. For the first card, I colored the raised design with DOI  Peeled Paint using a pod and attached to a Green Mat and White Card base. I added several Butterflies die cut from scraps of Yellow CS using Sue Wilson Petite Butterflies dies (NBUS). Finished with words die cut with Cheery Lynn dies.

The second card was made in a similar way but used a different green ink and darker green mat. The butterflies are cut from the smaller dies from the same set by Sue Wilson and cut from scraps of a patterned paper shown on the side in the photo. Used a Cheery Lynn die for the word Thanks.

For the third card, I had used the Leafy Branch EF but also had embossed the panel with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots.  Not sure which EF that I used first but I had colored the raised dots with Navy Ink and the branch with Green Ink using pods to color the raised areas.  It was some time ago that I did this embossing and coloring and put away to finish at a later time.  I completed this card using some Marianne Design Creatable dies.  The bird was cut from a Red scrap and raised on some red foam. The birdhouse was cut from some Brown foam and I inked the raised area with dark brown ink. (FYI I first cut the house from brown cardstock and cut the foam to layer but I liked the look of the foam for the house with out the paper better and eliminated the brown paper.)  The sentiment was stamped and die cut with Gina K Designs products.  Used Navy ink to stamp and white foam to raise. Attached the panel to a Navy Card base and assembled the elements using a bit of string to hang the birdhouse.

Modified the Final Look

Hello! The current challenge at Modsquad Challenge is Beautiful Butterflies and the Monthly Mix Challenge at Gina K Designs is Here Comes the Sun.  I combined the 2 challenges and came up with this card to enter.  I created a sunrise scene using a circle mask cut with a die and ink blending with Distress Oxide inks on a white cardstock.  After completing the background, I stamped the flowers and butterflies using stamps from Gina K Design Birds & Blossoms set. The images were colored with Copics.  Added a Gina K sentiment stamped with Memento Black ink and die cut. Finished with a white card base. After I took a photograph of the card, I decided the horizon was too straight and drew in a row of trees to break it up.  The revised card is shown below.  I think it improved the card but what do you think? Please vote for which you consider the best.

Fluttering Wishes

Hello!  One of my favorite things to stamp, among many subjects, is Butterflies.  I have many Butterfly stamps and I have chosen one from GKD Birds & Blossoms set to use for this card. I stamped the images on White CS and colored with Copics. I added the sentiment from GKD Wild Blossoms. Used Memento Black ink and heat embossed with Clear EP.  I edged the panel with Black Copic marker and attached to a textured card base that matched the color of the flowers.

Fluttering Around

Hello! Today I am playing with a butterfly stamp from Repeat Impressions and I have created two different cards with the same stamp but for two different occasions. On the first card (right) I stamped the butterfly 3 times on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.  I added some stitches with black thread to connect the butterflies in flight. Stamped the Repeat Impressions Happy Birthday with the same black ink.  Finished with a mat of Black cardstock and Yellow card base.
For the second card I started with a background of Patterned Paper from Our Daily Bread Designs Shabby Rose collection.  I stamped the butterfly twice with DOI Frayed Burlap on an Ivory CS and colored with Copics. Then I fussy cut the two butterflies and attached to the background with foam tape. Stamped a Repeat Impressions sentiment with the Frayed Burlap ink and added some rose colored sequins. Used a Glossy Ecru card base.  This all purpose card can be used for many occasions.

Butterflies Fly Again

Hello! Sometimes I am immediately inspired by a challenge and know at once what I am going to create but other times, it takes awhile to come up with an idea.  I knew at once what I was going to use for the Just Us Girls Photo Inspiration shown below.   It might not be acceptable but I knew that I wanted to recycle some butterflies that were on a card that I had received some time ago.  I carefully removed two  die cut butterflies that were already enhanced with glitter and gemstones and set aside while I created a card for them.  I printed a digital image of orchids (inspired by the JUGS challenge graphic) that I had from Beccy's Place on Ivory Cardstock and colored with Copics and Pencils and stamped a birthday sentiment from Gina K Designs. I attached the image on a card base of the same Ivory CS and adhered the saved butterflies. I drew on the antennas with a black marker.  I am pleased with the results and happy to have found a use for the beautiful butterflies.

A Flutter of Butterflies

Welcome!  Today I have a card made with another Stacy Stamp from my stash.  I made several attempts to use this Butterfly stamp and finally ended up with this design.  I used DOI Spiced Marmalade to stamp the image on White CS and then inked that with Versamark and heat embossed with Clear EP. I then colored in the butterflies with Memento Cantaloupe marker and sponged the remaining white area with Memento Summer Sky ink.  I trimmed the panel and attached to a card base of Gina K Yellow CS.  Stamped the GKD sentiment with  the DOI.

Welcome to the studio!  It's Monday again and I have a card to share that I made this weekend.  I used Repeat Impressions Butterfly stamps inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on White CS and colored with Copics and added some sparkle to their wings with Clearstar Pen.  I decide to emboss the white panel with Darice Large Daisy EF to give them something to fly to.  Added the sentiment (part use of a Repeat Impression stamp) and a Metal Butterfly brad that I colored with Copics.  I inked  the edge of the panel and attached to a Shimmering Yellow Pearl Card Base.

Fusion of Sketch with Butterflies

Today I am playing with the challenge at Fusion's  5th Anniversary Challenge shown below.  We can choose to use the sketch or photo or a fusion of both.  My card was inspired by both.  I used 3 Butterflies (found in my stash of leftovers) that were die cut with Cheery Lynn dies from Navy CS and cut angel wings of Glitter CS from my scraps. I started with a Ivory card base and attached a panel found in my stash of handmade backgrounds that was made by blending assorted  Distress Oxide Inks and spraying Gold Shimmer Mist.  I added some die cut circles of navy and ivory with die cut shapes of navy and Glitter Paper following the sketch and then attached the Butterflies.   I like it when I use up some of my scraps and leftover die cuts and inked backgrounds. The sentiment from Gina K Designs was stamped with Memento Paris Dusk ink.

Using Up My Unused Items

Hello!  This weekend, I challenged myself to make some cards using up some of the unused items collecting on my worktable....for example items that I die cut or colored and never made into a finished card or backgrounds that I had leftover and stored in my leftover box (or boxes in my case).  I have enough of these bits and pieces to make a ton of cards.
I began with a leftover from a background made by  water coloring splashing with Distress Oxide inks on watercolor paper.  I tore a section of this and attached to a Blue card base embossed with clouds and glued on flowers die cut from scraps of paper.  I die cut the flowers and butterflies  with a new die cut set (prize from Double D Challenge).  Finished with a simple sentiment from Annabelle stamps.
Challenges:

Cards In Envy: Something New Card Challenge-used new dies. Card is flat enough to fit into envelope.

Wonderful Summer Day

Summer brings wonderful days and beautiful butterflies!  I love seeing colorful butterflies as they flutter on flowers in the garden.   I tried to capture 2 of them on this card using Cheery Lynn Butterfly Dies with Yellow and Black card stocks.  I arranged them on a background stamped with Hero Arts Leafy Vines stamp in Distress Oxide Ink and sponged with Memento Blue ink. Added some glitter with Stardust pen to the wings.  Used a sentiment from GKD stamped in black ink.   Finished with a Yellow card base and a mat of Black CS.

Butterfly Flutters on Two Cards

Hello!  I have been playing with a Butterfly stamp from the Take Flight set by Gina K Designs to create 2 different cards.  For the one above,  I stamped the butterfly image twice with Versafine Onyx Black ink using a mask on white cardstock. The GKD sentiment (Northwoods set) was stamped with the same ink but I heat embossed it with Clear EP.  Adhered the image to a Black Mat and a White card base.

For the second card, I created a background using a Lace Layering Stencil by Tim Holtz.  I used 7 inks in rainbow colors with the stencil on white cardstock.  I trimmed the panel and added to a panel of black cardstock and attached to a card base of GKD Wild Dandelion CS.  I stamped the same  butterfly used on the card above on to the Wild Dandelion CS with Black ink and heat embossed with Clear EP and then fuss cut .  I attached the Butterfly to the rainbow panel and stamped a sentiment from the Take Flight set by GKD.

Three of a Kind

Welcome! Summer brings butterflies so what better way to send birthday wishes than a trio of these lovelies. Using a Butterfly stamp from GKD Birds & Blossoms set, I inked the stamp with Memento Cantaloupe and Black markers and stamped 3 times on a panel of white CS.  I added some dots to the wings with a Metallic Copper Gelly Roll pen.  I used paper from Graphic 45 Secret Garden Pad for the mat and layering. The GKD sentiment from The Northwoods 2 set was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Copper EP.  I am pleased with the color combo.....I seldom use purple or lavender but like the results here.

Birthday Wishes

Welcome!  This is my third post today. Spent some time this weekend in the studio.
I was thinking of several challenges as I made this card using stamps from Repeat Impressions Happy Cling Set. I stamped the words on White CS with Memento Tuxedo Black and SU Ruby Red inks and cut with an Oval die and then embossed with Gingham EF.  I attached this to a Black CS mat and a card base of Red CS.  Decided it needed some happy butterflies that I cut with a Cheery Lynn die.

Butterflies in Flight

Hello! Second post today.
I decided to do a quick card for the Mod Squad Challenge Repeat After Me.  We are to use the same stamp at least 3 times on our card.   I chose to use a Butterfly stamp from Gina K Designs Take Flight.  I stamped it 3 times on a White one layer card with Memento Tuxedo Black.  To give some color interest, I used the spotlight technique to add yellow to the wings of one image.  I added the sentiment from the same stamp set to finish.
