Snow Bunny

Hello! It's a snowy morning here in Ohio so I thought this would be an appropriate card to post.  I printed the Snow Bunny digi from my stash of Meljens images on white CS and colored the cute image with Copics and a bit of snow with a Snow Marker for texture. Added some stickles to her fuzzy hat and metallic silver to her buttons.  Trimmed the image with a rectangle die and attached to mat of pink CS, layer of striped pattern paper(old SU), and card base of the GKD pink CS. Finished with heat embossed sentiment (old Creative  Clear Stamp) using Silver EP.  I chose this image because of her long scarf.

Happy Snowman

Hello! I was inspired to make this card by the Challenge #49 at The Library Challenge.  We are to pick any previous book from the library and I chose The Snowman by Raymond Briggs.  The cover reminded of very happy snowman stamp from Creative Clear stamps that I have had for many years. The colors that I chose to use were also inspired by the cover but I threw in the yellow to keep this it a very cheerful card.  I stamped the Snowman and Sentiment with Memento Black ink on White CS and colored with Copics, added some shine with the clear star pen, and texture with a snow marker. Trimmed the image with a Spellbinders die and attached to a yellow panel embossed with Darice Snowflakes EF before adding a white card base.

Winter Scene

Hello!  I had fun making this card inspired by the Sketch #432(below) challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I pulled out Hero Arts October kit to create the scene using stamps and dies. Used blue CS for the skies and White CS for the other layers - the mountains were inked with Distress Oxide Iced Spruce ink.  The trees were cut from Green CS and the stamped reindeer was fussy cut.  I added snow to the sky, mountains and trees with Marvy Snow Marker. Spritzed the sky with Gold Shimmer mist. The sentiment from Creative Clear Stamps was inked with DO Faded jeans and filled in with Stardust pen for some glitter and shine.  Attached to Glossy White CS base.

Holiday Card

Hello!  The inspiration for this Christmas card was the Sketch Challenge at Retro Rubber Challenges.  I did turn the sketch to make a horizontal design.  The tree image from Let It Snow set by  Creative Clear Stamps (dates back to 2009) was inked 3 times with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copics.   I decorated the trees with Gold and Silver Metallic ornaments simply made with hole punches.  I used a vertical sentiment from Repeat Impressions Stamps heat embossed with Silver EP.  I edged the panel with Silver Metallic marker before attaching to a white card base.

Retro Rubber: Challenge 74 Time to Sketch. Have had Tree Stamp since 2009. The sentiment stamp is over 1 year old or older.

It's Cold Outside

Second Post Today:

Hello! Here in Ohio, it is very cold!!   More reason to stay inside and make cards in my warm studio!

I printed off  a digital image, already colored, from Dearie Dolls....just love all her cute images.  I placed the image on a mat of red CS and heat embossed a sentiment from Creative Clear stamps.   I tried something new by embossing the front of my Blue card base  with Cuttlebug EF Snowflakes using Versamark ink on the folder and then heat embossed with Snowflake Embossing Tinsel with glitter ( same as used on sentiment).  Of course I had glitter everywhere and I had just cleaned my studio. But I loved the cold, snowy effect that I achieved.  I also added some of the tinsel to the image by using a Versamark pen on the snowflakes.

Tip: To clean up the glitter, use a Swifter cloth to pick it up.

Hello!  I was playing with the challenge at Tag You're It! and was inspired by the featured artist Loll Thompson whose tag is shown right.  I used her colors but in a different way and pull the theme of trees and snow into my tag.

Cute Elf with Santa's List

Hello!  My card today features an Elf that I printed and cut with my Cameo using a Silhouette file from Stinkin Cute Paper Piecings.   I stamped a Creative Vision verse with Versamark on clear Vellum and embossed with Red EP.  I trimmed the words and adhered with Vellum Tape to the background of pattern paper from Authenique that was embossed with Argyle EF.  I used a green Card base added the elf that I backed with craft foam for dimension.  Of course I added my DH's name and myself to Santa's nice list. I added some sparkle with Sakura Clear Star and Metallic Gold pens.

A Little Sugar

 

 

Hello! Christmas is coming quickly!  My cards are all made but I am making this for a challenge at Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #183 to make a card with Candy Canes.  I decided to use some older pattern paper from my stash...I fussy cut the Candy Canes from the design and used the stripe as a frame for the 2 canes tied with a green ribbon.  Since I decided to make a step card, I added some more candy with a Peppermint pattern and finished with a "Sweet" sentiment from Creative Clear stamps and a fun ribbon.

Fuzzy Bear and Frosty the Snowman

Hello!  I have been playing with the technique that you emboss cardstock with an embossing folder inked with Versamark and then heat emboss it with EP.  I tried this with the Snowflakes EF from Darice with Silver EP.   I used this as a background behind a fussy cut Snowman holding a Bear that I stamped and colored with Copics and markers on white CS.  The image is popped up with foam tape and has great dimension in real life.  I finished with a wintery sentiment from Creative Clear stamps in red ink and Sakura Glitter Pen. Also used some stickles, liquid pearl, glaze pens, red glitter glue.

Retro Rubber: Challenge 29 Holiday Spirit,  The Snowman and Bear stamp called Fuzzy Bear is a PSX design from 1999.  I have used it for many years.
Mod Squad Challenge: Challenge is All that Glitters.  The background glitters with the Silver and there is more sparkle on the red glitter glue on the holly berries, the glitter of the clear star pen on the top hat, knit hat, mittens and sentiment.

Happy Snowman Thinks He's Santa?

Hi there!  Today I have another Christmas card inspired by Challenge #32 at Tag You're It!  I had planned to use a Santa theme but I realized that I really do not have many Santa stamps....several digi ones in my file... mostly vintage ones... not a really cute one like I wanted.  Guess I have a reason to shop for stamps.
I decided to use this cute Snowman from Creative Clear Stamps set Let It Snow.  He is kind of like the Santa on the inspiration graphic....kind of round and square-ish and I made his coat and Santa  hat Red with Copics.  My layout was also inspired by the challenge....used Kraft and Embossed Snowflakes and 2 stripes of Pattern Paper. The words were die cut with Cheery Lynn dies from a Glossy Oyster Pearl CS. Pearls, Stickles, Clear Star pen and Twine finished the project. Inks used were Memento Tuxedo Black and Brilliance Platinum.

Doe and Fawn in the Forest

I have a quick and easy card today....yes this image is an easy one to color. I stamped the White Tail Doe and Fawn from Repeat Impressions on ivory CS and colored with Copics  and placed on a mat of Dark Brown and then a textured cardstock pattern from DCWV Safari Chic Mat.  My design came from the sketch from Sketch Saturday Challenge.  I really like the combo of this Pattern Paper and the image.  I could not decide on a sentiment so my DH selected this one from Creative Clear stamps that I heat embossed with Zing Chestnut EP.  He said the deer looked as if they were waiting for someone.

Hello! Another Christmas card for a couple of challenges.  I used a Silhouette file for Santa and his reindeers cut from Black cardstock.  I added this this to a Navy CS that I stamped with a GKD Star, Creative Clear Stamp Sentiment, and sponged  with Brilliance Moonlight White ink.  Attached to a Glossy White Card Base.

Holly Jolly

Hello! Taking time out to make a Christmas card for some challenges.  I used an old stamp from Creative Clear Stamps Holiday Sentiments for my featured sentiment stamped in Memento Northern Pine ink and cut with Spellbinder Frame die and layered on a Red Frame.  I also stamped some additional Holly with Flourishes stamp (Doves and Holly)  above and below the words.  Used Red glaze pen on the berries and Clearstar pen on the leaves after coloring.  Pattern Paper is from Pebbles Welcome Christmas pad and Red CS for base is from stash.

Bear, Birthday, Balloons

 Hello! Today I have a tag that I made for Tag You're It! Challenge #28.   We are to make a tag inspired by the one made by Joni Mitchell shown on right.  I, of course, stayed with a bear theme holding balloons that I cut with a circle die from paper scraps. The bear is a stamp from Creative Clear stamps in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.
Word dies are Cheery Lynn.
I used a precut Tag and added a double sided ribbon in blue and red to finish.

Really Reasonable Ribbon: Challenge #123 is to make Anything but a card with ribbon.

Gift Tags

Hello! I have been away from my blog the last few days.  The holidays seemed to have arrived so quickly this year....tonight begins Hanukkah with a dinner of Prime Rib and Potato Latkes or maybe Potato Kugel.   I have not wrapped one gift as yet so I must get busy.

I made these gift tags a few days ago for the challenge at The House That Stamps Built using Repeat Impressions Pine Forest stamp with Memento ink and a combo of white CS and Green Pattern Paper.

A Little Sugar for Christmas

 

How about some gingerbread cookies?  The Christmas challenge at The Glory of Christmas is biscuits/cookies so I thought I'd used this seldom used Gingerbread stamp from GKD First Christmas set.  I stamped the pair of Gingerbread with Versamark on Kraft CS and heat embossed with Ranger Seafoam White EP. The colors are from the Challenge at Card Concept. The image was cut with Nesties Circle die and matted on a Red CS.   Following the sketch from Sweet Sunday, I assembled my card with Kraft Card Base, Pattern Paper from Crate Paper Snowy Day pad.  Finished with a sentiment from Creative Vision Holiday Sentiments and a Red Ribbon.

I am back with another card for this month's Splitcoaststampers Hope You Can Cling To campaign to support Breast Cancer Awareness.   This card is for Jeanne's challenge Hope You Have a Great Day - to make a card that will put a smile on some one's face. I do not have many silly images or sentiments but I thought this one might make someone smile or laugh out loud. Even threw in some pink Camo design for wallpaper for fun.

Early Made Christmas Tag

   It is never too early to prepare for Christmas so I decided to make a Christmas Tag for the BasicGrey Challenge #99 - Make a Tag.    I used Spellbinders Label 4 Dies to cut the front and back from a double side paper from BasicGrey Jovial found in my scraps. I cut 2 other pieces with a smaller die using another pattern paper from the same Jovial Pad.  I stamped one smaller diecut with a Sentiment from Creative Clear Stamp Set "Holiday Sentiments" using Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder. For the inside layer I stamped "To and From" stamp from GKD in Versamark and Red Embossing Powder.  I assembled the tag by adhering the smaller cutouts to the larger ones and using a Gold Tree Brad  and ribbon from stash to join both sides together. This allows the top of the tag to twist around so the inside can be viewed.  I hid the prongs of the brad on the back with an ornament cutout that I had made with Annabelle's Stamps and Diecut.  I was pleased that I used only scraps in the making of this tag.....no full sheets of paper were cut!

Pink Pansies with a Thank You

 

I received this digi image from Doodle Pantry and decided I must use it for their challenge this month which is to use a Doodle Pantry image....that's simple enough.  I printed the image on white cardstock and colored with copics and a black glaze pen. I used papers from stash and scraps of green which is almost a heavy vellum. I embossed the card base with Cuttlebug EF Wickerweave and assembled the layers. Sentiment is from Creative Vision was cut with Nesties Blossom Dies.

I am trying so hard to use up bits and pieces of scraps ....one of my objectives for the new year.

Birthday Wishes in a Tri-Fold

 The challenges at Joan's Gardens have been relatively easy the last couple of weeks but this week she raised the bar a bit requiring us to work a bit more. Her challenge #13 was to make a tri-shutter card, use  more than one design paper, use something dimensional and use ribbon or lace.  I have made this kind of card before but this was a bit more labor intensive....I kept adding more layers and had used 5 Pattern Papers and 2 solid CS's when I was done. I changed the card base 3 times before I decided which one to use. I love this Graphics DP and have been hoarding it but decided this was the perfect card and time to use it. I am letting the pictures and supplies list tell the story of this card rather than going through all the details.
