Summer Birthday Wishes

Hello! Today I am sharing a card that I made using a GKD Stencil that was inspired by a GKD video called  5 Minute Card Easy Stenciled Mini Slimline Card.  I used the same stencil but changed it up by making a A2 card instead of a slimline card. I used the stencil, a stamp, and inks from the GKD Watercolor Spring Card Kit. My card base is GKD Innocent Pink CS and the Green mat is from my paper stash.

Trio of Cards

 Hello!  Today I have 3 cards to share that I made using the same Gina K stamp set called You Make Me Smile but used different techniques for each card.  The top card was stamped on GKD Moonlit Fog CS with GKD new Amalgam Ink that works perfectly with Copic Markers, Watercolors and Colored Pencils,  I used Pencils to color the image and simply attached to a darker gray card base. 

For the second card, I stamped with the same Amalgam ink on White CS but colored the image with Copics which I favor when coloring flowers. 

I decided to use watercolor paper and Distress Oxide inks for the third card.   I stamped and water colored the image with Picked  Raspberry and Peeled Paint inks using a water brush. 

I had fun playing with new ink and stamps from Gina K that were a birthday gift from my DH.

Another Card Using a Die as a Stencil

Hello! I love how this card turned out-looks better in real life but hope you see the dimension and texture of the embossing.  I used Memory Box Splendid Clarkia die to cut a stencil and also to do dry embossing on the image.  Used Distress Oxide Inks  Candied Apple and Peeled Paint to color with the stencil. Used Wild Honey and Stardust Pen on the centers of the flowers. Stamped the Happy Little Stampers sentiment from Doodled Flowers. Added card base of Coral and mat of Grass Green.

Cherry Blossom Time

Today I have been inspired by the colors (pink, blues, green) and shapes (blossoms, dragonfly, circles)  from the photo for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge combined with the sketch layout from Sketch Saturday.   I stamped Rubber Stampede Cherry Blossom with Rich Cocoa ink on a white CS and colored with Pink, Green,  and Brown Copics.  I added a Dragonfly made with Stamp and Die from Creative dies using Nautical Blue ink.
The card was assembled with Embossed Pink Card Base, a layer of MME Pattern Paper, and Green Grosgrain ribbon.  Flourishes sentiment was inked with Rich Cocoa.

Hole in One

Hello!  For this card, I used some Hero Arts Water-based Markers that I won sometime ago.  I inked a stamp from GKD Pressed Flowers set and stamped on White glossy paper which a new technique for me. The ink dried almost instantly.  I love the effects of this. Using circle dies I cut the image and placed it in a hole cut in the top layer of the card.  The top layer of White CS was embossed with Cuttlebug EF Swiss Dots, the very first EF I owned. Sentiment is a MFP's stamp inked with Memento Rosebud ink.

You Make Me So Very Happy

Hello!  Thursday I had a "Playdate" with my friend Rita and we "played" with Distress Inks and these stamps from Power Poppy Geraniums Set.  We also played with MISTI...had to show off my new "Toy".    I am sharing my finished card today....wish I had made a picture of Rita's coloring on watercolor paper with the same colors.  After stamping on White CS with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored with a water brush using Barn Door and Peeled Paint.  Taking a risk, I added splatters to the card...always afraid I will mess up trying this. I trimmed the image using a corner punch on 3 corners and then placed off center on Ombre  Pattern Paper from MME.  I used a Martha Stewart  scallop dot border punch on the lower edge and attached to a white Card Base.
This card and "playing" with Rita make me so very happy!

Spring Flowers

Hello!  I just love the colors in the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge this week but seldom use them.  The tiny flowers on the cupcake reminded me of  a PSX hydrangea stamp that I love and have had forever.  I colored small yellow pearls and added to the center of the flower that I stamped and colored in Copics.  I only used a small part of the image to fit the sketch that I used.

Dancing Daffodils

 

 Morning! Are you enjoying spring flowers?  I was inspired by the daffodils blooming in my garden to create this card with Power Poppy Dancing with Daffodils digi stamp. I colored the image with Distress Inks using a watercolor brush. The sentiment was stamped with Power Poppy stamp from Lavender set.  I made the background with White CS embossed with Cuttlebug  EF Gingham and inked the raised areas with Memento Summer Sky.  The Card base and mat is GKD Sage CS.
Distress inks used are Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Stormy Sky, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, and Brushed Corduroy.

A Bouquet Of Tulips

I just love tulips... will be glad when the ones in my garden bloom.  I was going through some old wood mount stamps and came across this old PSX Stamp from 2001....this was one of the first stamps that I purchased.   I decided to give a try coloring with Copics and love the look. I also love the look of the pattern paper embossed with a Gingham design EF.

Christmas Card of Different Colors

Welcome! Today I am back with another Christmas Card which I created with Non-traditional Christmas Colors.  My inspiration was the Merry Monday Challenge to do just that --create with Non-Traditional colors.  I began by heat embossing the Festive Frame from Melanie's GKD stamp set on White GKD CS with Gold EP and colored in the design with Memento Markers Pear Tart, Angel Pink, Rose Bud, and Rich Cocoa. I filled in with Copic Gold Marker. I trimmed the frame and attached to a mat of GKD Bubblegum Pink CS and then to a card base of GKD Jelly Bean Green. For the sentiment I heat embossed it on an oval of Bubblegum Pink with Gold EP and did the edge of the oval as well.  I attached this to the center with foam dots.

Sunflower and Butterfly

Hello!  Loving all the fall card challenges that are out this week.  My card today is made with Gina K Design stamps 3 sets- Stippled Nature, A Year of Flowers, and Always Autumn. I colored the flower and leaves with Copics Y13, YR21, E25,27  after stamping with Memento Espresso Truffle and Bamboo Leaves inks. I used GKD Pattern Paper from Autumn Landscape and GKD Grass Green and Ivory CS. The red layer was a scrap. The image was cut with a Nesties Circle Die and the Butterfly was Fussy-cut after stamping with Memento Cantaloupe ink on Ivory CS and adding some doodling with a black pen. Also used Cuttlebug EF Polka Dots for texture. Used masking on flower for stamping leaves.

CAS Water-Coloring

Hello! I have been playing with water coloring with Distress Inks.
Using Avery Elle's Petals & Stems stamp set, I stamped the large flower on watercolor paper with Picked Raspberry ink and added some Squeezed Lemonade and Spun Sugar inks using a water brush to color.  The stems were stamped with Crushed Olive ink as well as the sentiment and brushed in with a water brush. I added some pink sequins keeping the card CAS. I added some Wink of Stella glitter but could not get to show on photo.  (I just got the glitter brush and could not wait to try.)  I added the image to a card base of GKD Asparagus Green CS with a layer of Pink Pattern Paper from MME Indie Chic Saffron pad.  I just love to make cards in this combo of pink and green.

One Layer Shades of Summer

Hello! I am sharing a One Layer Card that I made for the One-Layer Simplicity Challenge this month.  We are to pick one of 6 color combinations and make a card celebrating this warm and fruitful season.  I selected  Shades of Summer #5 shown to the right.  I believe all the colors appear on my creation.

I was inspired to make this card by a tutorial by Jill Foster on making a one layer card shown on this video .   I always thought of one layer cards being very CAS with lots of white space and very simple, but that's not really the case. A One Layer just has to be a
single layer of card stock folded in half and I guess you can add as much or as little as you want.  I have kind of cased Jill's card following the layering of  colors, masking, stamping, etc.  I did not have Pan Pastels that she used so I improvised with what I had.
I began by die cutting a scallop circle to use as a mask while I sponged colors on the white card base to create a pinkish and yellowish background. I sponged other colors randomly. I partly stamped a music background stamp, then removed the mask and stamped the stem and flower and colored with markers.  I then stamped and embossed a Leafy Vine on the right and again sponged the edges of card. I also stamped and embossed the sentiment. I added some gold pearls to finish.

Hydrangeas from the Past

 Hello!  Today I have a card that I made for The Beach House challenge at Fusion Card Challenge which has both a Photo Inspiration and a Sketch.  See graphic on right.  You can use either one or combine both in a card.  I chose to use both.  When I looked closely at the photo, I saw a vase of hydrangeas on the table which reminded me of a PSX stamp that was one of the first rubber stamps that I purchased. I love this stamp of Hydrangeas but I have not used it in a long while.   I inked it up with Marvy Markers Bubblegum pink and Periwinkle and Memento Markers Angel Pink, Rose Bud, Pear Tart, and Bamboo Leaves and stamped on White CS.  I filled in the images using these markers but did so in a somewhat abstract style. I placed the image on a pale yellow card base with a plaid panel from MME's My Favorite Things pad.  Added a strip  of the yellow CS stamped with a sentiment from Avery Elle. I finished with Die cuts of Green CS and a yellow brad using Spellbinders Blossom Dies.   In addition to the hydrangeas and their colors,  I also pulled the colors yellow and greens  from the photo
