Quilted Mother's Day Card

Hello!  I was experimenting with an idea to create a quilt theme card using just the tools that I have.  I would love to get some dies for quilt patterns.  I started with Spellbinders Blossom die to create a pattern and cut some ODB  Soulful Stitches Pattern Papers and a base for the scallop design of Mint Green CS.  This design would be better with 8 blades  but I was trying to utilize the blossom die.  Even though I was not completely satisfied with my Dresden Plate design,  I finished the card using Green Card base, a layer of another Pattern Paper that I edged with Copic R22. GKD stamp from Needlework Sentiments was stamped with SU Cameo Coral ink and heat embossed with Clear EP.  Circle dies used to cut the center pieces.

Challenges:
Mod Squad Challenge: Mother's Day
Simon Wednesday Challenge: Simon says Anything Goes
Crafthazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge: Use patterned papers

I will be trying another Dresden Plate pattern soon. Stay tuned.

Have a great day! I love reading your comments. Theresa

No Stamps or Inks Used in the Making of this Card

Hello!    I have a second post today for the Cheery Lynn Challenge # 197 Back to Nature.  This card was made without stamps or inks being involved.   I simply used papers and die cuts to create a scene with Butterflies in a Garden.  I used some dies I recently purchased with a Gift Credit that I won from Cheery Lynn.  Butterflies were cut from Pattern Paper with Small Exotic Butterflies #1 dies  and the angel wings were cut in pink CS.  The top butterfly on my card was trimmed down from the original size to fit over the printed butterfly on the paper. I used the Thanksgiving Die to cut the word Thanks in another pattern paper.....this die serves double use.....just cut a portion of the word or trim to say Thanks.  All pattern paper is from ODB Designs Shabby Rose Collection. Pink Base is GKD CS. Wicker Weave EF used.

Stacking the Dies

Hello! I am still fluttering with butterflies.  Today I have used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch for my design.  I chose pattern papers from Our  Daily Bread designs Shabby Rose Collection to go with a Butterfly cut lightly and embossed with a Cheery Lynn Butterfly die from pink Vellum. I layered this over another butterfly cut with CL Angel Wings die from Pink CS.  I embossed the background pattern with CB Wicker Weave EF that I attached to Pink card base.  The Cheery Lynn Thank You dies were cut from Green CS, Pink CS, and Pink vellum that I stacked and glued together for depth.
Challenges:
CAS(E) this Sketch:  See sketch on right. I did a very close interpretation.
Just Us Girls: Trend Week #297- Stacked Die Cuts.  I stacked the sentiment as well as the butterfly.
Butterfly Challenge: #33 Butterfly + F for flowers. The challenge is always Butterflies but with the addition of an item/ theme beginning with a chosen letter.
