Amazing Pigeon

Hello!  Isn't it amazing all the things author Mo Williams' pigeon does and tries to do like "Driving a Bus"?  I was not familiar with this children's book so had to do a little research on the author and book.  For the challenge at The Library Challenge #40 "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus",  I decided to create  a card featuring a pigeon to send someone amazing.  I was inspired by the colors of the cover and also the speech bubble.  I found  a digital image of a pigeon, printed it on white CS and added more blue to  the color and some coral stripes (inked with DOI Abandoned Coral) to anchor the bird on my one layer card.  Stamped the bubble and sentiment stamps from Jane's Doodles set in Memento Black ink.  Fun to make!

Birthday for My Man

Hello!  I was playing with a Gina K Design set called The Northwoods 2 to create a masculine card without any layers.  I began with a GKD heavy weight white card stock because I can use Copics to color on this paper and there will be no bleeding of ink on the back side.  Great for one layer cards!
I stamped a lake scene using Memento Markers to apply colors directly on the stamps.  For fun, I just had to add a bear (for my DH) and did that  by stamping the bear first and then used masking when stamping the trees.  Colored the scene with Copics and sponged the sky with Memento Summer Sky ink.  Stamped the sentiment with Tuxedo Black ink.  Perfect birthday card for the man in my life.

Lot of White for Christmas

Hello! July is a good time to begin Christmas cards and I have a quick one made with 2 stamps from Hero Arts kit from October 2017. I used Memento inks Cottage Ivy and Lady Bug to stamp the tree and sentiment on heavy white cardstock.  Colored in the tree with markers and Gold Copics.  Added some sparkle, jewels and sequins for ornaments to finish.  Easy peasy!

Clean and Simple 2 Ways

Hello!  I have two cards inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.   For both I used a vine stamp from Mixed Media Stamps but used different green inks for each. The first one is a one layer card using Memento Bamboo Leaves ink.  I finished this one with glittery pink and gold heart stickers and a banner  die cut from GKD Grass Green CS with a GKD sentiment stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with White EP.

The second card was stamped with DOI Peeled Paint for the vine and DOI Faded Lipstick for the GKD sentiment.  I added punched pink flowers from my stash and a die cut with the sentiment. Attached to a card base of GKD Fresh Asparagus CS.

One Layer Cone Flowers

Welcome!  I have a similar but different card  with Coneflowers that I posted earlier. Again, I printed the Power Poppy digital Easy Breezy Coneflower on GKD white heavy weight CS and colored it with Copics.  I used this paper because Copics do not bleed through and I can make it one layer.  I stamped a Bee from MFP with black ink and colored with a yellow marker and a Clear Star Pen for some glitter on the wings. Finished with GKD sentiment in Memento Green ink.

One Layer with Stencil

Time to mail some Easter cards.  I made this for Challenge #367 at Less Is More to make a One Layer Card using stencils.  I used a Tim Holtz stencil Lace Layering to create this with4  Distress Oxide Inks and White Cardstock. Used masking to create the strip of blue.  I stamped the Hero Arts sentiment with Picked Raspberry ink.  I like the mix of colors....like colorful Easter eggs.

One Layer Ombre

Hello!  Taking a break from Holiday cards.  Today I am sharing this One Layer Card made with a large  Repeat Impressions floral stamp that I heat embossed with White EP on White CS.  I then inked this with Distress Oxide ink Faded Jean creating an Ombre effect dark to light.  Finished with a single score line and a sentiment.  This may become apart of several I will create for a box set of note cards.

Treasure Hunt?

Hello!  I searched out a treasure chest for this CAS card that I made for a couple of challenges.  The stamps are from an old set in my stash.  I stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Markers and a Gold Metallic pen.  Also inked the edges of the white CS with the pen.  Added some loose gold coins to go with the sketch.  Made this very simply...a true CAS.

Dreaming of You

Hello! This one layer card was made using stamps and dies from Hero Arts August Kit.  I stamped the girl in flight and cloud with Memento Tuxedo Black and heat embossed with Clear EP.  I cut masks for the girl and cloud with dies.  I also cut a mask with an oval die.  Using the masks I sponged Distress Ink Faded Jeans and added "stars" with Pilot Metallic Silver marker. Finished with the Hero Arts sentiment in the same black ink.   The card below was my first attempt at this design but I messed it up when I misted with Metallic Blueberry mist and the mist leaked under the mask and went beyond the oval.  I saved the image by cutting an oval window in a card base of White CS and attached the image under the opening.

One Layer with Butterfly

Hello!  This card was made for the Mix It Up Monday Challenge at Stamp TV  and other challenges. Cat at STV wants us to use two of the things on her list that correspond with the numbers of our birthday and make a card.  My birthday is June 18, so I have to use 1 - only one layer and 8 - butterfly. That's easy enough.  I started with GKD White Heavyweight cardstock....perfect for a one layer card.  I stamped the Butterfly from GKD Take Flight set in black ink and heat embossed with clear EP.  I colored the image with Memento Markers Dandelion, Cantaloupe, and Tangelo.  Using masks for the butterfly and one made with an oval die,  I sponged an area with Distress Oxide Ink Broken China.  The blue background really makes the colors of the butterfly pop.  I finished by stamping a sentiment from the same set with the Broken China ink.
I am very pleased with my one layer card with the butterfly.

Classic and Masculine

Welcome!  I recently won some digital images from MHK Designs and just had to use this vintage truck on a card.  I printed the truck and 2 of the sentiments from Various Vehicles set on heavy White CS.  I printed one of the sentiments in red to add a bit of color.  Added black brads to the tires and some glossy accents to the windows.  Finished with some score lines at the bottom edge to add more texture.  Quick and easy one layer card and a very masculine birthday card for my stash.

Inspired by STV Videos

Welcome! I have 2 cards that were inspired by Stamp TV Videos. The first one uses the Black Embossed Magic Technique seen here.   I used GKD stamps from Pressed Flowers and a sentiment from Buds & Vases.  Other supplies: Pattern Paper from MME - A Mother's Love pad, Black CS, Vesamark,  White EP, Sharpie Pens.  First time to use this technique.

This card was inspired by The Simply Snowy Christmas Card video seen here  at Stamp TV.  Instead of a Christmas card, I created a fall theme card with GKD stamps from Pressed Flowers and Always Autumn.  But I followed the guidelines on the video creating a One Layer card with masking. sponging, stamping, and heat embossing.  Other supplies: White CS, Distress Inks Dried Marigold and Spiced Marmalade, Versamark, Copper EP, Clear EP.

Fun with Oxide Ink

Hello! I have been playing again with Oxide Ink Iced Spruce to create a couple of One Layer cards using Colored CS.   The top card is GKD Chocolate Brown CS stamped with Power Poppy image from Sassy Succulents and sentiment from PP Lavender set.  Love the way the oxide ink pops on the dark CS.  Filled in the succulent with pencils in two shades of green. Added a touch of shine to 2 of the words with Stardust pen.
This second card is Black CS stamped with Hero Arts Leafy Vine cling stamp...love the velvety look of the oxide ink.  Finished with a Power Poppy Sentiment from Sassy Succulents in the same ink.

Hello!  My second card today is a One Layer design using colored cardstock.  I embossed clouds with a Darice EF and stamped the image and sentiment from Flourishes Kids Play set with Black Versafine ink. I then heat embossed with Clear EP.  I sponged the clouds with Brilliance Moonlight White ink.  I like the simplicity of this card...certainly brings thoughts of a summer day.
