Card for A Friend

Hello! I made this card with an older stamp set Wild Blossoms from GKD.  I had a challenge for using a silhouette in mind when creating this card, but I found out that you can only do one entry and I had already entered.  But I think this card will qualify for Monthly Mix Up Challenge at Gina K Designs. We are to use Black and White Plus Pop of one other Color.  Other supplies used: GKD Blue Raspberry and Black inks, Circle dies, Ink Blending Brush, Black Marker for Edging the White Panel, White CS.

Butterfly and Zinnias

Hi Friends!  This card is for the Creative Confetti Challenge-Make It With Metal. I used stamps from Power Poppy set Vibrant Thanks.  I stamped the zinnias, one of my favorite summer flowers, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics and used a Gelly Pen in the centers. Stamped the sentiment with Distress Oxide Ink Fired Brick. Used GKD Yellow and Grass Green cardstocks for the layers of my design.  Since butterflies are always flying around my zinnias, I added a metal butterfly charm (from my stash) for the metal element on the card.

Joyful Tulips

 Welcome to the studio!  Today I am sharing a Joy card that I made which was a joy to make.  I used  Penny Black stamps from the Friendship Flowers set.  I stamped the tulips twice with Versamark ink on watercolor paper and embossed with Silver EP.  I water colored the images with a water brush and Distress Oxide Inks Picked Raspberry, Peeled Paint, and Iced Spruce.  I stamped sentiments on the outside and inside with Peeled Paint.   I used the second image for the inside  but fussy cut only a portion of the image.
I assembled the Joy card using the image panels, Green CS for the smaller fold, Pink CS for the base card, and Striped Pattern Paper (from stash). I used a metal brad to keep the card closed.  I decorated the left inside with a Vine punched from the Green CS ( Martha Stewart punch) and attached Silver ribbon to the striped panel on the right side. (See photo of open card below).  The silver ribbon picked up the silver from the embossing which shows best in the lower photo.

Pansies Remembered

Welcome! Hope you are staying cool!  It's too hot to spend time in my garden so I am playing with some flower stamps in my studio where it is very cool.  After seeing the latest challenge at Retro Rubber, I was reminded by Neva (RRDT) of an older pansy stamp that I have had from PSX since about 1999.  I fell in love with PSX flower stamps when I started stamping and have several.  I have not used this Pansy stamp in some time and just had to dust it off and make this card.  Guess you might say that I CASE'd Neva's card ….hope that is all right?  

I stamped the image ( without the botanical name) with Memento Black Tuxedo ink on white CS and colored with Copics and Memento Markers in shades of Purple, Yellow and Green. I stamped a Gina K Designs sentiment with the black ink. Then I simply attached the trimmed image to a mat of Yellow CS and card base of Purple CS. 

Challenges: 

Retro Rubber Challenge: RRCB 115 Color challenge use purple, yellow, and green  on your card. The PSX stamp is at least 20 years old....that's old!

Clean and Simple 2 Ways

Hello!  I have two cards inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.   For both I used a vine stamp from Mixed Media Stamps but used different green inks for each. The first one is a one layer card using Memento Bamboo Leaves ink.  I finished this one with glittery pink and gold heart stickers and a banner  die cut from GKD Grass Green CS with a GKD sentiment stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with White EP.

The second card was stamped with DOI Peeled Paint for the vine and DOI Faded Lipstick for the GKD sentiment.  I added punched pink flowers from my stash and a die cut with the sentiment. Attached to a card base of GKD Fresh Asparagus CS.

Coneflowers for a Friend

Hello! I have another card to post today....wanted to get one in for the challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches for Sketch #465 shown below.  I printed a Power Poppy digital Easy Breezy Coneflower on GKD heavy weight CS and colored it with Copics.  I used this paper because Copics do not bleed through and I can make it one layer.  I added a strip of Vellum stamped with a Power Poppy sentiment in Distress Oxide Ink Picked Raspberry that I heat embossed with clear EP so that it would not smear. Attached this to the card with Washi tape...first time I did that.  Now I guess this is not a one layer card but I would consider it CAS.

Trio of Cards

 Hello!  Today I have 3 cards to share that I made using the same Gina K stamp set called You Make Me Smile but used different techniques for each card.  The top card was stamped on GKD Moonlit Fog CS with GKD new Amalgam Ink that works perfectly with Copic Markers, Watercolors and Colored Pencils,  I used Pencils to color the image and simply attached to a darker gray card base. 

For the second card, I stamped with the same Amalgam ink on White CS but colored the image with Copics which I favor when coloring flowers. 

I decided to use watercolor paper and Distress Oxide inks for the third card.   I stamped and water colored the image with Picked  Raspberry and Peeled Paint inks using a water brush. 

I had fun playing with new ink and stamps from Gina K that were a birthday gift from my DH.

Challenges:

One Layer Card

Hello! This one layer card is made with a Gradient Background using Distress Oxide Inks Broken China and Faded Jeans on Watercolor paper.  I stamped the GKD Floral Image ( Wild Blossoms set) and sentiment (Hello Friend set) with Memento Paris Dusk.  This is a true CAS design....very easy and quick.  Was tempted to add embellishments but restrained myself.

Three Flowers + Two Leaves

Hello!  I was playing with some challenges and came up with this card using the same image three times on the card.  I stamped the flower from GKD set A Year of Flowers by Melanie 3 times on white CS with SU Only Orange and colored in with Copics.  I used the leaf and stems stamps from the same set with Memento Bamboo Green ink and a sentiment from GKD Hello Friend with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  The splatter was done with GKD Tiny Texture stamp. I attached the image on a mat of GKD Green CS and then a base of GKD Brown CS.
I made an decorative envelope to go with the card using the same flower and leaf stamp and inks. I also decorated the back of envelope but did not photograph that.

Summer Flower

Hello!  Playing with some gingham and a flower design.  I began by stamping a Flower from GKD Hello Friend set with Memento Rose Bud ink and colored with Pink Copics and added some Wink of Stella for shine.  I fussy cut the flower and popped up on a Oval cut from glossy white CS.  I assembled the card using the layout from Tuesday Morning Sketch.  The base is a Shimmery Pink CS layered with Glossy White CS mat embossed with Cuttlebug EF Gingham.  I attached Pink and White Gingham ribbon and then the Flower image.  The sentiment is from the same GKD set.

CASE this Sketch

 

Hello!  I was playing with some new GKD Stamps and created this CAS card using the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #179.  I used Flowers from Birds &  Blooms, Sentiment from Wild Blossoms, and stems from Old Country Rose to create an open wreath.  I stamped all with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored the petals and leaves with Pink Copics.  The card base and label are GKD Pink CS.

Stamp TV: Mix It Up Monday-Fantasy Flowers. 
CAS on Sunday: #86 Black and White and One Color.  Used pink as my color.

Remembering Black and White Photos with Sassy Cheryl

 

 

Welcome!  Today I have new type of challenge for me. Have you ever created a black and white photo-look with a digital stamp or any stamp?  Neither have I.   I am giving it a try for the challenge at Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge.  We are to make a "Black & White Photo-look" with a Sassy Cheryl stamp.   First I thought of using a photo editing program to create the look of a black and white photo but then I decided the  thing to do is to use Copics to create the look.

After printing My Favorite Kind of Weather, I colored the image with Copics C 00,1,3 , N 0,2,4,7, W1, E 000, BV 23 using every gray shade that I have.  I trimmed the image and placed on scrap of a DCWV La Creme Matstack for the background, a card base of light gray cardstock, and finished with a sentiment from Creative Clear Stamps "Hello Hunny".   I just had to add a touch of red to the lady bugs on a whim.  This was fun to create.

Time to Play with Cards

My DH and I are in sunny Florida enjoying some sunshine instead of the snow and cold in Ohio. I had time today to make a card for Annabelle's challenges and a few others. I plan to keep my posts short and sweet while I am away in FL. In the photo, the popped up butterfly cast a long shadow on the card.  I have to find a better lighted location for making photographs.  The supplies for this card are stamps from Annabelle Stamp "All Things Grow", papers from My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing, white CS from GKD, Memento Inks Bamboo Leaves and Rose Bud, pearls colored with Copic YG63, Sakura ClearStar pen, and Cuttlebug EF Swiss Dots.

Valentine for a Friend

I am back again today with a quick post for the Cheery Lynn Design Challenge Friends/Friendship. I made a Valentine card for a friend using Cheery Lynn Dies Swedish Spring Oval Frame and the Small Butterfly dies. I framed a sentiment and hearts from Flourishes Heart Lines stamp set.  The stamping was done with versamark and embosssed with white embossing powder. I looped a white satin ribbon through opening in the cut frame and tied with double loop bow. White card base was embossed with Cuttlebug EF Kassie's Brocade. Finished with the butterfly colored with clearstar pen for sparkle.
