Christmas Treats in a Tin

Hello!  I wanted to share an item that I made from Altoids tins using some paper scraps and ribbon and other bits from my desk.  I used these to give out some candy treats and tips. They could also be used to give gift cards as well. This is just one of the many I made. (Forgot to make pictures of the others).  I made a template for trimming scraps of papers for the top and bottom that I attached with glue. I wrapped ribbon around the outside edge using double sided tape. Added various trim to the tops that coordinated with papers.  For this one, I used die cut Holly leaves and enamel dots that I colored red with Copics.  Added a stamped sentiment to the lid on the inside and filled with goodies.

Christmas Cards with Patterned Papers

Hello! Continuing my personal challenge to use up some of my supplies,  I used some freebie papers and toppers from last year's Card Inspiration magazine.  The top card features Christmas stockings on the paper and the topper that I raised with some craft foam.  Added die cut words cut from red card stock scraps with Cheery Lynn dies.  Used mint green card base. 
The second card used a plaid paper that I embossed with Cuttlebug Wicker Weaves EF.  Added the printed topper that I attached to a mat of the red CS cut with a Spellbinders Label die.  Finished with green and red grosgrain ribbons  that I embossed with Wicker Weave border EF.  Hard to see that in the photo but it looks good in real life. 
The third card features a printed topper that I fussy cut and attached with foam tape to the freebie paper and then to a red card base. No stamping involved in the making of these cards.
Note: The printed toppers from the magazine were attached to  white card stock with stick it paper before trimming.

Joyful Tulips

 Welcome to the studio!  Today I am sharing a Joy card that I made which was a joy to make.  I used  Penny Black stamps from the Friendship Flowers set.  I stamped the tulips twice with Versamark ink on watercolor paper and embossed with Silver EP.  I water colored the images with a water brush and Distress Oxide Inks Picked Raspberry, Peeled Paint, and Iced Spruce.  I stamped sentiments on the outside and inside with Peeled Paint.   I used the second image for the inside  but fussy cut only a portion of the image.
I assembled the Joy card using the image panels, Green CS for the smaller fold, Pink CS for the base card, and Striped Pattern Paper (from stash). I used a metal brad to keep the card closed.  I decorated the left inside with a Vine punched from the Green CS ( Martha Stewart punch) and attached Silver ribbon to the striped panel on the right side. (See photo of open card below).  The silver ribbon picked up the silver from the embossing which shows best in the lower photo.

Christmas Lantern

Hello!  I am sharing another Christmas card today.  I was inspired to make this by a Photo Challenge but I missed posting the card in time for that one but I found other challenges to enter.  I stamped the lantern stamp from my stash on white CS with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Red and Green and other Copics and a Silver pen.   Added some sparkle to the flame and poinsettia center with Stickles. Added some die cut branches from Green CS and a red satin bow to the top of the lantern.  Finished the card with a GKD Sentiment stamped in Red ink and a Dotted ribbon that I attached to a Red card base. Die from Impression Obsession -used only part of the branch.  I think the red bow was a perfect touch for the card.

Simple Christmas Tree

 Welcome!  Today my card features a tree stamp by Penny Black from Wonder Collection (a 2014 freebie).  I love the simple design of this tree that I stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink and added the sentiment(same set) with red ink. Then added a gold metal star brad.  I trimmed the panel and layered on a Die Cut Rectangle from Red CS and then a Striped Patterned Paper(DCWV Christmas Basics) and a White card base.

Colorful Birthday Card

Hello!  The challenge at The House That Stamps Built is a sketch this week (shown below).  To create a card, I used the Repeat Impressions Flower Power Background and stamped with Versamark ink on a white CS and heat embossed with  Gold EP.  I inked this with several Distress Oxide Inks creating a panel for my card and edged it with Pilot Gold Metallic Marker.  I used a water brush to fill in color in open spaces.  Since I do not have the individual flower stamps from the series, I isolated one of the flowers on the background stamp and stamped  3 times with Picked Raspberry ink and fussy cut the 3 flowers and added some gold embossing to each.  I arranged the panel, 3 flowers, and turquoise satin ribbons on a shimmery Yellow Pearl card base and stamped Happy Birthday with a portion of a RI Stamp using Peacock Feathers ink.

Poinsettia Tags

 Welcome to my Monday morning!  I have been making tags using Power Poppy Digital stamps from Poinsettia and Pomegranates.  The sentiment is from Gingerbread Family set.  I did 2 versions-one with pinks and blues and the other in traditional reds and greens. Colored with Copics.  Used Clear Star pen and Gold gel pens for accents.  Finished with ribbons.

Gift Box for a Tag

Hello!  What a frosty morning here in Ohio!  It's cold enough to make one have thoughts of Christmas.  And thinking of making tags for Christmas gifts.  I was trying to think of something different than my usual tag shape and came across a GKD stamp in Melanie's Beyond Baskets 2 - a box lid with ribbon- and decided to create a gift box as my tag.  This one measures about  3" X 3.5".  

The tag featured above was my best design using GKD Red Velvet CS using Versamark and gold EP for stamping the lid and words.  I fussy cut the top of the lid and bow and cut the paper in the shape of a box adding one score line.  Used a red velvet ribbon for this one by tying a knot in the center of the ribbon and pulling the ends through  a hole in the center of the stamped bow.   I wanted the ribbon for the tag to look like part of the bow and not just pulled through a hole. 

Another tag was made with the same Red Velvet CS but I used a Gold Metallic ribbon. See photo below.

I used GKD heavyweight white CS for the first ones I made shown below. These were stamped with Memento red ink.  I colored the ribbon on one with red Copics and added some sparkle with Clear Star pen.  On the second white one I stamped the ribbon and bow on the Red CS and fussy cut and  attached to the white box. Used ribbons of Red Organza with Gold Thread and Gold Organza. 

Sentiment stamp is from Joyful Holiday and To and From stamps also from Beyond Basket 2.

Note: I won the Beyond Baskets 2 Set from Melanie some time ago.

Purple Roses and Ribbons

Hello!  This card was made for Stamp TV Mix It Up Monday Challenge Just The Month from Cat. We are to make a card using the color  that corresponds to our month of birth on the list posted.  The color that I am to use is purple, not my most favorite color.  I used GKD Old Country Roses and stamped a trio of roses with  3 step stamping and various shades of purple.  The sentiment was stamped with Memento Grape Jelly ink.  Finished with 2 shades of purple grosgrain ribbons,  purple sequins, and purple card base. (Sequins are all purple but appear differently in photo.)

Playing with Oxide Ink

Hello! It is fun to get new products and items to play with!  I just received Hero Arts July kit---first one that I ever bought---and it included Summer Flower and Creative Vases stamp sets and  Oxide Ink Iced Spruce and more.   I just had to try the Oxide ink after seeing Jennifer McGuire's post.  She makes me want all the colors of this ink.  And I liked the result in making the backgrounds for these 2 cards.
For the cards shown here, I started with  panels of white CS and sponged them with the Iced Spruce ink.  For the top one, I sprayed water on Hero Arts Floating Flowers cling stamp and laid it on the panel a couple of minutes. On the bottom card I used a very old SU background stamp Antique Cracking.  After drying my background panels, I finished with some die cut flower images that I stamped and colored with Copics.

Top card-Used Hero Arts Sweet Pea Bouquet, Butterfly, Watering Can, and Sentiment stamps and Frame Cut Dies . The can was stamped on a metallic silver left from a recycled box shown below.

Bottom Card-Used Hero Arts Sweet Peas and Bow stamps, Hero Arts Dies, Cheery Lynn die cuts, Mirror CS, White CS base, Blue Satin Ribbon layered on Light Blue Organdy Ribbon with Silver Thread.

Black and White and....

Hello!  Today I have another Birthday card created with GKD Wild Blossoms set.  I like stamping this flower image in black and chose it for this black and white card with a touch of gold. I simply stamped the image and sentiment using GKD Black Onyx ink and GKD White CS.  I edged this panel with Pilot Gold Metallic Pen and adhered to a Black Card base. I added GKD White Organdy Ribbon with Gold Thread layered over a narrow Black Satin Ribbon.  Added a few more touches of gold on some of the flower centers with Gold Metallic Gelly Roll pen.

Let Freedom Ring!

Happy July 4th!

I have another card celebrating today for the freedom that we have in our country.  I heat embossed the fireworks stamp from Repeat Impressions on a panel of Blue CC and placed this on a White Card Base embossed with Stars. I added Red Ribbons and a sentiment from Verve stamp set. I tried to create an explosion of ribbons.

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!

Hello! Happy Holiday to all celebrating the holiday.  In the Spirit of the 4th, I made this card using stamps from a Verve set American Hero. I began with a Navy card base, added a striped pattern paper heat embossed with Red EP and added a fussy cut Star and some snippets of ribbons.  Finished with a strip of red CS stamped with words embossed with Gold EP.

Caroling Corky Angels

 Welcome to my studio! Today I am sharing some crafty items that I have been making with wine corks.  The caroling angels are made using beads of various sizes and colors with ribbons, twines, gems, wine corks (collected over the years), and other items all from my stash of items.   I assembled the Angels using a glue gun.  The hardest part of this project was collecting the corks from Wine Bottles. LOL.

These angels can be used as ornaments, decorations for gifts, attachments for wreaths, or just for hanging around.

 I also used corks for trivets( not shown) and message boards as shown on the left and for a wreath shown below.  I added one of the angels to the wreath.
I will change the décor of the wreaths with each season.
