Boo to You!

Hello! Switching to a Halloween theme for this card. As thoughts of fall come, I was thinking that I have not made many Halloween cards in a while. I was inspired by the Two Old Bats Halloween challenge which I have never entered but follow their posts. I pulled out some old stamps from my stash of Halloween themes and put together this simple design. I used a ghost, cat, spiders and the word Boo from the Mood Board from the challenge.  I stamped the ghost with black ink and heat embossed with Clear EP and colored with Copics on a white panel. I attached the cat that I had stamped, and heat embossed on Black scrap and fussy cut. I actually had made this cat for a previous project but had it leftover and found in my Halloween stash box.   Added some color to the cat with Gel pens and popped it up on card with some foam tape. I trimmed the bottom edge of panel with Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch and sponge on a bit of red ink. Finished with Boo stamp with black ink and added some spiders (plastic confetti) hanging from strings drawn on card with black gel pen. Placed the panel on some Orange CS that I had in my scraps. Used up some old supplies from my stash.

Birthday Wishes

Hello!  You might have seen my post that showed a card using the Embossed Silhouette technique that I learned from Julie on Power Poppy's Inspire Me Monday.  I have created another card with the same technique using an older stamp from Marcella Hawley's Zinnia stamp set from Flourishes.  The zinnias were stamped with black ink and colored in with a multiliner pen to create a silhouette,  then I re-stamped the image with Versamark ink and heat embossed with White EP.   I used the current sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge to design my card.  I trimmed the edge of my stamped image with a  Martha Stewart punch and lined the punched edge with a strip of black cardstock. I attached it to a panel of white cardstock embossed with Cuttlebug Polka Dots EF and placed on a card base of Black CS.   I finished with a GKD birthday sentiment that I heat embossed.

Joyful Tulips

 Welcome to the studio!  Today I am sharing a Joy card that I made which was a joy to make.  I used  Penny Black stamps from the Friendship Flowers set.  I stamped the tulips twice with Versamark ink on watercolor paper and embossed with Silver EP.  I water colored the images with a water brush and Distress Oxide Inks Picked Raspberry, Peeled Paint, and Iced Spruce.  I stamped sentiments on the outside and inside with Peeled Paint.   I used the second image for the inside  but fussy cut only a portion of the image.
I assembled the Joy card using the image panels, Green CS for the smaller fold, Pink CS for the base card, and Striped Pattern Paper (from stash). I used a metal brad to keep the card closed.  I decorated the left inside with a Vine punched from the Green CS ( Martha Stewart punch) and attached Silver ribbon to the striped panel on the right side. (See photo of open card below).  The silver ribbon picked up the silver from the embossing which shows best in the lower photo.

Dracula Appears Again

Hello!  Dracula is still hanging around my studio....he shown up on another card requesting blood donors.  The background of the card is a patterned paper from Echo Park pad The Apothecary Emporium which I have been hoarding.  Stamped Dracula (Mark Finest Papers stamp) on white cardstock, colored with Copics and fussy cut. Added a strip of dripping "blood" punched with a Martha Stewart punch. Sentiment stamps from Mark Finest Papers added with Memento black ink. The theme of this was inspired by The Library Challenge.

The Book Dracula

Hello!  Have you read Dracula? -the gothic tale about the vampire from Transylvania-published in 1897.  I did not realize that it was written so many years ago.  The book is Challenge 18  at The Library Challenge-you can be inspired by the cover, the title or the story.   My card was inspired by the cover since I practically copied everything including the layout, colors, bats, moon from the graphic of the cover shown below.  Supplies used: Dracula stamp from Mark's Finest Papers, Copics,  Spooky Die cut from Cottage Cutz, Circle Die Cut, Drippy Goo Punch from Martha Stewart, Fired Brick, Yellow, and Black card stocks, Plastic Confetti Bats from stash.

Rainbows and Butterflies

Welcome!  I am playing with Butterflies and Rainbow Colors using a sketch from Retro Rubber Challenge #91 to create a CAS card.  I began by inking the Butterfly stamp from GKD A Year Of Borders set.  I used Memento Markers to ink the butterflies in the colors of the Rainbow and stamped on White CS and colored in the images with Colored Pencils.  I stamped the older Sentiment from Papers and Such with Memento red ink.  Finished with strips of blue cut with Martha Stewart Scallop Dot Punch and a card base of the same blue. 

I can trace the Gina K Stamp back to 2011 and The Paper and Such sentiment  to 2015 but they may be even older.

Repeat Challenges

Welcome!  This post may sound like a rerun since I am repeating 2 challenges from Tuesday Morning Sketches and  Stamp TV.  I stamped the sunflower from GKD A Year of Flowers set on Yellow Vellum with Versamark and Heat embossed with Clear EP. This was colored with Copics and then cut with GKD Die. I cut a second flower from card stock and layered under the Vellum one. A pattern paper from Heartfelt Creations was adhered to a Yellow Card base and the card was assembled using the flower, a strip cut with a Martha Stewart border punch, brown stain ribbon and bow, and Dew Drops.  The sentiment was heat embossed with Brown EP on a die cut of the Vellum.

Spooky Jack-O-Lantern

Hello!  I used some pattern paper, vellum, a Jack-O-Lantern stamp, punch, and dies to create this card using the challenge sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.   I stamped the Gina K Design stamp, from a Mystery Bag that I won, on white CS with Memento Tangelo Ink and covered with a circle of bright yellow to give it a glow. Layered that with a Orange Scallop die cut. Assembled the card adding a strip of Orange CS punched with Drippy Goo border and a strip of the Yellow Vellum topped with a Black Spider. Added some happy pumpkin confetti.  Pattern Paper from Echo Park Apothecary Emporium pad and  Yellow Dandelion CS from GKD.

Heat Embossing with Embossing Folder

Hello! Today  I have a card for the Fusion Blue Christmas challenge which we can choose the sketch or the photo or both as inspiration for our creation. I chose to combine both for my card using the theme, colors, and ribbon from the photo.  I began by creating a triangle using Martha Stewart punches (double loop border and double loop corner)  for a design on the corner and sides of blue CS. Then I tried something new to me...I inked an EF with Versamark and embossed the Blue triangle and heat embossed with White EP...love the effect.  Before attaching this to an embossed white card base,  I wove Blue Satin ribbon into the loops and let it cascade. Finished with a Power Poppy Stamp in DI Stormy Blue.

Happy Halloween Treat

 Happy Halloween my Friends! 
I am writing  a quick post to wish everyone a Happy Halloween and Happy Trick 'n' Treating.   I have a little treat of Candy Corn, so help your self.
I made a tag for my treat using a cute Digi  from A Day for Daisies that I colored with Copics and Stickles Yellow Glitter Glue.  The inside was stamped with Mark's Finest Paper stamp in black ink and embossed with clear EP.  Finished with strips of Yellow and Orange CS. I think the plastic spiders are trying to get into the package of candy.

Spooky Ghosts or Not So Spooky

 

I am back for a second post today continuing with Halloween Cards.  I made this a CAS Card using a Sketch challenge from CAS Colours & Sketches #147.   The first thought was to make a Christmas card but I had my Halloween stash and stamps on my desk so  went with Halloween theme.  Used masking to stamp the 2 Ghosts with Mark Finest Papers stamp and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  Sentiment from same company.  Colored with Copics. Used Clear Star on Jack O Lanterns.  For a fun touch I punched a portion of the lower edge with Martha Stewart Drippy Goo border.

Halloween CAS

Hello! It feels like winter is here this morning...temps in the 30's. It may be a cold night to Trick n Treat later this month. My CAS card today was inspired by the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #145 shown on right.   I stamped the word BOO! from a Mark's Finest Papers Stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added sparkle with Clear Star pen to each letter.  The Ghost Stamp from the same set was embossed with Black Ink and Clear EP on Vellum and fancy cut and colored with Copics.  To add some spookiness, I punched the edge of the White CS with a Martha Stewart Punch before attaching to an Orange Card Base.

Gateway to a Garden

 Hello!  I was  tested by the recent challenge at Mrs. A's Butterflies.... her guest selected A for the challenge and we were asked to use an Arch on our butterfly cards and I had no idea what to use for my arch.  Then the light came on and I thought I should use a gate with an arch leading into a garden.  I pulled out Our Daily  Bread Gilded Gate die and a frame die from Spellbinders Card Creator and used white glossy paper to build my gate with an arch. I only used the top part of the frame and attached with the gate.  I used a pattern paper from ODB Shabby Rose Collection Paper Pad to create the garden filled with roses and butterflies. I added green vines cut with Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die and Prima Pink Roses with layered butterflies punched from pattern papers and pink CS.  I decided to not use a sentiment on the front but used that on the inside (shown below)  of the card finished with more of the pattern papers and a sentiment from Repeat Impressions.
