Hello!  Today I am sharing a card made with stamps from Power Poppy. I am happy that I found the latest challenge at The Blossom Challenge Going Sentimental focusing on a sentiment from Power Poppy.  Power Poppy is one of my all-time favorites for stamps, I stamped and heat embossed the image with Versamark and Gold EP and water colored it with Gina K Inks. Trimmed the image with a die and attached to patterned paper background.  I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on a strip of Pink Vellum which I attached beneath the image.  Actually, I stamped the image first on the patterned paper, but it did not look right so I used the vellum. I arranged the oval at a bit of a slant in my design. The card looks better in real life.  I will be sending this card to my 102 years young Mother who is "never more than a thought away".

Thinking of You

Welcome to my studio.  Today I am sharing a card that I made for the Monthly Mix Challenge at Gina K Designs.  We are to make a Black and White card with a pop of one other color.  I used a floral stamp from GKD Whimsical Wildflowers set that I stamped with Black Ink and water colored with GKD Medium Carnation and Passionate Pink inks. The sentiment also stamped with black ink is from GKD Pretty Posy.   I inked the edges of the stamped panel with a Black Copic marker instead of using a cardstock mat before attaching to a White Cardstock base.  Finished by adding some Black Crystals to the center of the flowers.

Fun with Stenciling

Hello and welcome! It has been a while since I created a card using a stencil so thought it was time to do so.  I inked a white card stock with Gina K Ornamental Fans stencil using GKD Blue Raspberry and Fresh Asparagus inks and trimmed it to use as a background on my design, Stamped the flowers with Memento Back ink and heat embossed with Clear EP. I water colored the image with the same inks used in the background. I die cut the flowers and popped up with some white foam. I stamped and die cut   the word Hello and also popped up with foam. Finished the card with a White Card Base and Black mat. I really like these colors together and how the design came together since I did not have a plan in mind when I began. Birthday Cards 2 at a Time

Welcome!  I made two window birthday cards using the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches using some new and old stamps from Gina K Designs.  I was planning to only make one but decided to do 2 cards.  The first one shown below was done with a green card base in which I die cut a window with Spellbinder's circle die. The floral stamp was stamped on a white card panel with Memento Peanut Brittle and colored with Copics.  Was trying to achieve a no lines look. Added some texture with a strip  embossed with a embossing folder border.

On the second similar card, I used a patterned paper with a solid white back for the card base. This time I stamped the image with Memento Pink Ink and then heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder before I colored with Copics.  This way, I did not lose the details in the stamp when I colored.  I liked this look better.  Showing the inside below. 

Finished both cards with Birthday sentiments and colored gems.

Playing With Gina K Inks and Water

Hello! Second post today....something other than Christmas cards.

Today I have been playing with the Monthly Mix Challenge at Gina K designs. The challenge is to use Gina K Inks with water to create a card. I inked a panel of white GKD Cardstock with GKD ink Barely There and spritzed with water, but I did not get the effect that I wanted.....think the ink was too light to show. I stamped the panel with a GKD stamp from Thank You Friend set with GKD Black ink. Using a water brush and GKD Fresh Asparagus ink, I water colored the leaves and stems of the image. I die cut the image with an oval die and layered on to a die cut layer of GKD Grass Green cardstock. I finished by using a card base of Coral CS layered with the leftover panel and the layered image. I will add a sentiment when I use the card.

Pop Goes the Peony!

Another post for today!  I've been spending a little time in the studio...cloudy outside today.  I created this card for the challenge at Creative Confetti - to color up the background to make your flower pop.  I used a colored textured cardstock for my background for the Peony that I stamped, colored, and fussy cut. The flower and leaves stamps from Power Poppy Peony Muse set were inked with Distress Oxide inks Picked Raspberry and Peeled Paint and stamped on to White CS(used masking when stamping the leaves under the flower).  Colored in the image with Copics. Arranged yellow and  red panels on a green card base. Attached the flower and the sentiment ( Power Poppy Dahlias set) that I heat embossed with Red EP on a scrap of yellow and layered with scrap of green. I don't often mix pink and red but thought this combo really popped!

Pink Peony with Green

Hello! Today I am playing with a few challenges. I created this CAS card for the Creative Confetti Challenge to Keep it Simple and it fits other current challenges. I used a flower stamp from Power Poppy Peony Muse set and a sentiment from Power Poppy Dahlia set.  I inked both stamps on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.  I inked the edge of the trimmed panel with a pink Copic marker and attached to a Mint Green textured card base. I used pink and green because this is one a my favorite color combos.

An Oldie and A Favorite

Hello! That's the message that my card with spring flowers is sending.  I used a very old stamp dated 1999- one of my first PSX stamps and also one of my very favorites.  I stamped the Hydrangeas with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on white cardstock and colored with Copics and a white pencil for highlights. While looking for a background I came across a forgotten bag of papers and ribbon from Club Scrap, which I think was a long ago garage sale buy. Anyway the heavy weight and textured papers, one a pattern of greens and purples and one a solid green, were perfect to go with my Hydrangeas.  Added 2 of the grosgrain ribbons to the image before attaching to the patterned paper and the solid card base. Finished with the die cut word Hello stamped on clear vellum with DOI Wilted Violet.  The stamp and die are by Gina K Designs.  I was excited to discover the forgotten stash of papers and ribbons.

You Make Me Smile

Welcome!  Hope all is well with you. Today I am playing with the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I chose some patterned papers from First Edition Paper's Blank Canvas pad and used Gina K Designs stamps to create a fancy fold design. Photo below shows open card.

Hello! Today I am sharing a clean and simple card that I made with Altenew Daisy Stamp set that was a freebie that I received in January.  I used the layered stamp with pink and green inks on white cardstock.  I trimmed with a stitched circle die and attached to a card base of Pink cardstock. I framed this with a layer of Green cardstock with a circle cut out and also embossed with  a larger stitched circle die.  Finished with a thank you stamp from stash. I like using the dies to emboss my cards....uses them in a different way.

Going Square

Hello!  I decided to make another card with this flower stamp (used in yesterday's post)  from Gina K Designs Whimsical Wildflowers set from 2018 and also used GKD sentiment stamp from Wild Blossoms.  I created a square card 5"x 5".... I don't make many square cards but I came across some square envelopes in my stash and thought I'd make some cards to use with them.  I stamped the flowers with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white card stock and colored with Copics.  I matted the image with a green card stock mat and placed on a pink card base. I scored 2 lines on each side of the base to frame the image but they do not show up in photo (can just see on the top edge).  Keeping with the square element, I added the sentiment stamped in green ink on a small square of white cs matted with a square of pink cs.

Spring Flowers

Hello!  I am trying to enter some current challenges before the deadlines.  I made this spring garden card with stamps from Gina K Designs Whimsical Flowers.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on watercolor paper and colored with a water brush using Distress Oxide Inks Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint, and Cracked Pistachio.  I stamped the sentiment with Peeled Paint.  Added a coral grosgrain ribbon. Used GKD  Peach Bellini card stock for the card base.

Monthly Mix Challenge: Mindy's challenge at GKD  this month is Spring Fling! All you need to do is create a project using Gina K Designs products with the theme Spring in mind.

Thinking of Everyone

Hello!  It's been a few days since I have posted but I have this Thinking of you Card to share today.   I thought I had posted this but could not find it, so I am using  it to say that I have been thinking of everyone out there in blog land and hope you are staying healthy and safe. I created this card by heat embossing GKD stamps from Tropical Blooms with Gold EP on Black CS and coloring with Pencils.  Also used a splatter stamp with the Gold EP.  I inked the edge of the image layer with Pilot Gold Metallic marker and attached to a card base of Black CS.

  I have not been posting lately but I have been busy in my studio creating a great many cards.  I put together a package of over 80 cards that I sent to the Life Care Center in Tennessee where my Mother is a resident. This included many Hello, Thinking of You, and other assorted themes to cheer up the residents who have been unable to have company.
I assembled the package by pulling cards from my stash some of which I modified and changed to fit the need.  I failed to make a picture of those cards that I sent but many were cards that I have posted on this blog. I also used a lot of those bits and pieces that I had accumulated in my leftover box of never used die cuts, stamped images, colored digis, etc to create several quick cards that I enclosed with the already made ones.  I also included some Thank You Cards to the staff.
Sending cards is a great way to keep busy and let others know that you care.  I see a lot of card makers doing that very thing.
I am now working on a box of Easter Cards to send to the same place and almost have the number that I need.  More about that later and I will have pictures.

Embossed Silhouette

Hello! I was truly inspired by Power Poppy Blog Monday Inspire Me post about Embossed Silhouette.  I was so inspired that I immediately CASE'd Julie's card.  I even used a flower stamp from the same set that she used- Vibrant Thanks set- but I used the Bee Balm  instead of the Coreopsis.  I also did sponging very similar to what she did.  I simply followed her steps to create this card so please check out her post ….she explained everything much better that I can. 

Supplies used: Power Poppy Vibrant Thanks and Simply Camelia stamp sets; White, Fresh Asparagus, and Faded Brick GKD cardstocks; Fried Brick and Peeled Paint DOI, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink; Versamark Ink; White EP; Copic Black Multiliner pen and marker; Dewdrops.

Fall is a Time for Thanks

Hello!  Probably anyone who makes cards knows that today is World Card Making Day. I made this card for the challenge with stamps from Power Poppy Vibrant Thanks clear stamp set. I stamp the flower image with Memento Pistachio and Morocco inks on white card stock and colored lightly with Copic markers. That gave the Bee Balm a hint of fall colors. I trimmed the image with a Spellbinders Oval Die. For the background, I used GKD Fresh Asparagus CS that I embossed with Cuttlebug Wicker Weave EF.  Stamped  a sentiment from  Vibrant Thanks set with Versamark ink and heat embossed with GKD White EP.  Assembled the card with White Card Base, ribbon from my stash and a Pearl embellishment.  Used a sketch from Sketch Saturday.

All a Flutter

Welcome to the studio!  It's Monday again and I have a card to share that I made this weekend.  I used Repeat Impressions Butterfly stamps inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on White CS and colored with Copics and added some sparkle to their wings with Clearstar Pen.  I decide to emboss the white panel with Darice Large Daisy EF to give them something to fly to.  Added the sentiment (part use of a Repeat Impression stamp) and a Metal Butterfly brad that I colored with Copics.  I inked  the edge of the panel and attached to a Shimmering Yellow Pearl Card Base.

Inky Paper Towel Returns for More Cards

Hello! I appreciate your stopping by!  I have been playing again with Paper Towels, a new technique for me.   I have been inspired by Loll's challenge at CAS Mix Up challenge to use/recycle inky paper towels.   The butterfly was cut with a Cheery Lynn die from some card stock that I transferred ink to from a inky paper towel that I also used on another card.  A section of the actual inky paper towel was cut and layered beneath a white card stock panel with an opening die cut with a Spellbinders circle die. The colors on the towel are Distress Oxide inks  Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber, and Squeezed Lemonade.  I attached the butterfly and  added some die cut flowers from yellow CS ( used Spellbinders Shapeabilities Flower Bundle) to the white panel. Then I stamped a Papers and Such sentiment with Fired Brick ink.  Attached all to a White Card Base.

(Distress Oxide Inks).  Added die cut of a flower cut with Spellbinders Shapeabilities Flower Bundle.  Sentiment from Penny Black Friendship set stamped with SU ink. . Card base of Green CS from stash.

Pansies Remembered

Welcome! Hope you are staying cool!  It's too hot to spend time in my garden so I am playing with some flower stamps in my studio where it is very cool.  After seeing the latest challenge at Retro Rubber, I was reminded by Neva (RRDT) of an older pansy stamp that I have had from PSX since about 1999.  I fell in love with PSX flower stamps when I started stamping and have several.  I have not used this Pansy stamp in some time and just had to dust it off and make this card.  Guess you might say that I CASE'd Neva's card ….hope that is all right?  

I stamped the image ( without the botanical name) with Memento Black Tuxedo ink on white CS and colored with Copics and Memento Markers in shades of Purple, Yellow and Green. I stamped a Gina K Designs sentiment with the black ink. Then I simply attached the trimmed image to a mat of Yellow CS and card base of Purple CS. 

Challenges: 

Retro Rubber Challenge: RRCB 115 Color challenge use purple, yellow, and green  on your card. The PSX stamp is at least 20 years old....that's old!
