Remembering Black and White Photos with Sassy Cheryl

Welcome!  Today I have new type of challenge for me. Have you ever created a black and white photo-look with a digital stamp or any stamp?  Neither have I.   I am giving it a try for the challenge at Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge.  We are to make a "Black & White Photo-look" with a Sassy Cheryl stamp.   First I thought of using a photo editing program to create the look of a black and white photo but then I decided the  thing to do is to use Copics to create the look.
After printing My Favorite Kind of Weather, I colored the image with Copics C 00,1,3 , N 0,2,4,7, W1, E 000, BV 23 using every gray shade that I have.  I trimmed the image and placed on scrap of a DCWV La Creme Matstack for the background, a card base of light gray cardstock, and finished with a sentiment from Creative Clear Stamps "Hello Hunny".   I just had to add a touch of red to the lady bugs on a whim.  This was fun to create.

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Have a Happy Summer Birthday

Another post for today!   Been doing a lot of challenges since it is too hot to do much outside.   When I saw Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge "Hat's On",  I immediately thought of one of her older digis that I think I got as a freebie when I began collecting Digital images.  This girl was perfect with her big hat and I colored her in summer colors taken from the pattern paper from MME's Happy Day paper pack.  I used a sketch shown below from Tuesday Morning Sketches ...they have 4 sketches to choose from this week celebrating their 4th birthday.
 I am also entering:
Shopping Our Stash Challenge #109- use summer colors or summer theme.
One Stop Craft Challenge: Summer Colours.
I think my colors are very summery!

Other supplies used: White, Pink, and Yellow Cardstock from stash. Copics R 20, 81, 85, RV 11, E 00, 000, 11, 34, 35, 37, Y06,11, 13, 26 ,28 , YR 02,07. Glaze pens in Orange, Yellow, Pink.  Annabelle Stamps Sentiment. Memento Rose Bud ink. Pink Buttons and Twine from stash.

Hope you are having a cool weekend?

Let Freedom Ring

The challenge at Sassy Cheryl this week is  Red, White, & Blue with a Sassy Cheryl image, of course!   I have been wanting to use the Patience Secret Girl digi and thought she'd be perfect in RWB with this digi paper from Doodle Pantry.  I used a GKD Red Cardstock as the base, layered with  a GKD Navy mat topped with the pattern paper. After coloring the image with copics, I added to a navy mat and attached with foam strips to pop it out a bit. Finished with a red star brad.  I had to write in the sentiment that I wanted to use with a red pen.....I had a clear  stamp to use but I lost it on my work desk , not once but twice. No telling when it will turn up again and I did not have "patience" enough like Sassy to wait until I find it.
Copics: E 0000, 00, 11, 25, 31, 34,  R 20, 22, 24,49, B21, 24, 26, G 0000

Love, Love, and more Love

There are a lot of challenges for Love and Valentine cards this week. I made this one with a digi image from Sassy Chery. Isn't she the cutest? I colored her with Copics after printing on white CS. Added some rhinestones to her dress.  Since I did not have a corner punch, I used a die to trim the corner and placed a felt heart from my stash in the corner.  I used a DP from My Mind's Eye  as a mat and place on a card base of pink card stock.  I stamped sentiments with Memento Rose Bud from Flourishes Taglines to finish.

Wish From the Heart

I love making Valentine cards...maybe it's partly because I love the color combo of red, black, and white which can be so clean or dramatic or any style you wish. That would  be a good challenge...any way you  wish!
I just had to have this new release from Sassy Cheryl "Sassy Sally's Heart Balloon"...she is so cute! I decided after printing her on white cardstock to paper piece her dress, bow, and balloon using some scraps from stash. I colored her with Copics, I used a border of hearts at the top edge of the card over a red satin ribbon that shows through the small cut out hearts. Not to waste anything, I added some of the small hearts as if to show they are falling from the top edge.  The card base is white and the mat under the image is the same DP as her dress.

Challenges:
Simon Says: Let's get Paper Piecing.
Whoopsi Daisy Challenge: Use a digi.
Shopping Our Stash Challenge: Use your oldest ribbon. This is an old acetate satin ribbon that I have had before I started carding. Must be 10 years +. Behind the cutout hearts.
Digital Tuesday Challenge: Favorite color combo. Must be  fave combo of red, white, and black.
Fab 'n' Funky Challenge: Use your favorite color combo.  Red, white, and black.
C.R.A.F.T.  challenge:  Valentine's Day or Love

Supplies:
Stamp: Sassy Cheryl Digi, Flourishes Heart Lines
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics: E 0000,00,11,30,31,33,37

I did not mean to post 3 cards today but might as well get it down.

Oh Happy Day! What's new with you today? What's new with me is playing with my new Cricut. Sassy Ann at Sassy Cheryl's has a  challenge this week with a theme of "New Beginnings"... new home, new baby, new anything. Used a unknown sentiment stamped in Memento Rhubarb Stalk below upper fold which holds the card closed.(One side is attached with a dimensional and the other side has velcro so card opens easily). Meet Polly who is a new digital image from Sassy Cheryl. I am pleased to say that I named her. You see there was a contest to name her and my entry was chosen. Diva Dianne in Pink

Happy Monday morning.
The challenge at Sassy Cheryl's blog is a sketch challenge (shown below) and the theme is to use pink. I used a lovely freebie image that I have had in my files for a while ...she just cries out to be pink. I colored her with Copics and Glaze pens and gave her some sparkle with a Clearstar pen. Those pink shoes are a bit on the neon side. But does she not look like she is having a lot of fun playing dress up? I used white card base distressed a bit with Sugar Spun Distress Ink, a mat of Pink CS embossed with EF Divine Swirls, and corners of Lace Patterned Paper from scraps. Cut my image with Nesties Labels 1 and also distressed a bit. Added pearls to finish.  Think I will name her Diva Dianne since I do not know her name.
