Spring Flowers

Hello!  I love tulips and I cannot wait until mine are blooming.  I made this CAS card using  Penny Black stamps from Friendship Flowers set.  I stamped the sentiment and image with Memento Black ink and colored with Pencils and Odorless Mineral oil.  I framed the image with embossing done with a Spellbinders Label die. The photo does not show the embossed frame very well. I saw that technique on a recent Jennifer McGuire video about adding texture with dies. Finished with a pink card base.

Poinsettias are Tropical

Welcome!  Today I am sharing a CAS card that I made with Penny Black stamps from the Wonder Collection.  I stamped the Poinsettia with DOI Fired Brick on watercolor paper and using a water brush,  I water colored the image using DOI Fired Brick and Peeled Paint.  I added some gold to the flowers in the  center with Versamark Ink and Gold EP.  I decided to add some more ink around the image but I got a little carried away trying to be a bit artsy.  Also distressed the edges with the red ink. I attached the image to a card base of GKD Fresh Asparagus CS and  stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set.
Did you know that Poinsettia is a tropical flower? And that the bright colors on the poinsettias are actually leaf bracts, not flowers.  The flowers are small and found in the yellow center of the stalk.
Challenges:
CAS Watercolor Challenge: September use Complementary Colors.  Used only red and green inks.
Happy Little Stampers : Watercolor Challenge Anything Goes+ Optional: Tropical.  Used Poinsettia which is a tropical flower.
Penny Black Saturday Challenge: Anything Goes-Optional use something old or neglected. Stamps are about 5 years old.

Joyful Tulips

Welcome to the studio!  Today I am sharing a Joy card that I made which was a joy to make.  I used  Penny Black stamps from the Friendship Flowers set.  I stamped the tulips twice with Versamark ink on watercolor paper and embossed with Silver EP.  I water colored the images with a water brush and Distress Oxide Inks Picked Raspberry, Peeled Paint, and Iced Spruce.  I stamped sentiments on the outside and inside with Peeled Paint.   I used the second image for the inside  but fussy cut only a portion of the image.
I assembled the Joy card using the image panels, Green CS for the smaller fold, Pink CS for the base card, and Striped Pattern Paper (from stash). I used a metal brad to keep the card closed.  I decorated the left inside with a Vine punched from the Green CS ( Martha Stewart punch) and attached Silver ribbon to the striped panel on the right side. (See photo of open card below).  The silver ribbon picked up the silver from the embossing which shows best in the lower photo.

Challenges:
Alphabet Challenge: J is for Joy or Joy Fold card
Penny Black Saturday Challenge: August Anything Goes with Optional Water and/or Watercolor.  Used Penny Black stamps and watercolor.
Make My Monday: Challenge #102 Friendship. The inside reads "If Friends were Flowers, I would pick you"

Joy to the World

Welcome!  My holiday card today was made with Penny Black stamps from her Wonder Collection.  Stamped the Wreath and Joy on Ivory CS with red and black inks and trimmed with a Scallop Circle die and attached to a Green Die cut circle.  Arranged strips of patterned papers from American Crafts Kringle and Co. pad with solid red strips on an Ivory card base that I embossed with Cuttlebug Polka Dots EF.  Popped up the circle on a foam cut out to complete the card.  Thought the patterned paper coordinated  well with the design of the berry wreath.

Three Wisemen

Welcome!  More cards for my Christmas stash.   I used a digital image of Three Wisemen by Debbi Moore that was in a freebie in Paper Crafter magazine to make 2 cards.   I printed the silhouette image on Yellow CS and trimmed to the size needed for the cards.  I simply sponged a bit with Distress Oxide inks and added some shine to the stars with Stardust pen.   Finished with Christmas stamps from Penny Black Wonder Collection and used different card bases for the cards.  This would also make simple one layer cards if I chose to.
