Summer Flowers

Hello and welcome my friends.  This card that I am showing was made with Gina K Designs supplies. I stamped the floral image from Wildflowers bundle with black ink on watercolor paper and water colored with Gina K inks Medium Carnation, Passionate Pink, Fresh Asparagus and Medium Spruce. I die cut the image using die from the same bundle. I attached the image to an embossed pattern paper from GKD Watercolor Floral paper pad with some foam tape. I used Cuttlebug EF Victoria for the embossing that I distressed with a bit of sandpaper. Attached this to a white cardcase. Stamped the sentiment from GKD Rose Bouquet set with Passionate Pink ink on a die cut circle of white matted with a pink circle to complete the design. Circle dies from Spellbinders.

Spring Flowers

Hello!  I am trying to enter some current challenges before the deadlines.  I made this spring garden card with stamps from Gina K Designs Whimsical Flowers.  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on watercolor paper and colored with a water brush using Distress Oxide Inks Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint, and Cracked Pistachio.  I stamped the sentiment with Peeled Paint.  Added a coral grosgrain ribbon. Used GKD  Peach Bellini card stock for the card base.

Easter Cards Continued

 Welcome!  I have more cards to add to the box to send to my Mother's Life Care Center.  And I have a request-can anyone identify the digital image that I used in the cards above? I failed to identify the source of the image in my file.  But I thought it was perfect for Easter cards. I hope I am not infringing on any copyrights.  I printed the design on watercolor paper, inked the edges with a pastel Copics, and attached to an assortment of pastel card bases.  Used printed messages inside. This is an easy and quick card to mass produce if I need more.

These are 2 cards from my stash that I modified to fit the Easter theme and added inside messages.

Frosty Water Color

A snowy day inspires a frosty card! I used an old Flourishes stamp set Warm Winter Wishes designed by Marcella Hawley to create this.  I stamped the snowman on watercolor paper with a gray ink from Memento and water colored with a water brush using DOI Broken China, Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, Walnut Stain, and Fossilized Amber.  Used black marker for eyes and mouth. Trimmed the image with a Spellbinders die and attached to a mat of Blue CS and a card base of White CS.

Whimsical Flowers

Hello!  I've decided to try and make more than one card at a time since it is easy to do once you have stamps and supplies out.  I have used Gina K Design stamps and a die from Whimsical Wildflowers for these cards using partial die cutting and water coloring on both designs. I stamped the floral image twice on watercolor paper and heat embossed one with gold EP and one with white EP.  I water colored each with DOI Picked Raspberry and DI Forest Moss using a water brush. I used the GKD Die to partially cut the image.  The top card was finished by placing the cut portion on top of a Pattern Paper that I created with GKD Background Stamp Petite Flourish using GKD Fresh Asparagus ink on white CS.  Finished this one with a card base of GKD Fresh Asparagus CS and a Gold Embossed GKD sentiment. . 

I kept the second card clean and simple by simply adding the partially cut image to a card base of Yellow CS and stamping the GKD sentiment with Distress Ink Forest Moss.  I found it hard to water color this image since it was embossed with white EP but I just tried to follow the lines by looking at the first card that I colored first

Sending Thanks with a Bouquet

Welcome to my studio!  One of my favorite fall flowers is Sunflowers and I love to color them.  I used the Sunflower digital image from Power Poppy to create a bouquet of Sunflowers and  printed in a sepia color on watercolor paper. I colored the image with a water brush using Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Peeled Paint, Walnut Stain, and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks. Stamped the sentiment from Power Poppy Vibrant Thanks set with Walnut Stain ink.  Decided to keep the design clean and simple. Recycled a paper from an envelope (Hallmark card) for the background....was the perfect color and has a slight texture. Finished with a card base of GKD Chocolate Brown CS.  Love this without any added embellishments.

Hello!  Back with another card made with the Maple Leaf stamp from GKD A Year of Leaves that I stamped on water color paper with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Copper EP.  I colored the leaf with a water brush using Distress Oxide Inks Peeled Paint, Candied Apple, Fried Brick, Wild Honey, and Fossilized Amber.  I stamped the sentiment from GKD Always Autumn set 4 times with the Versamark ink and heat embossed with the Copper EP.  Used GKD Faded Brick CS for the base.

Poinsettias are Tropical

Welcome!  Today I am sharing a CAS card that I made with Penny Black stamps from the Wonder Collection.  I stamped the Poinsettia with DOI Fired Brick on watercolor paper and using a water brush,  I water colored the image using DOI Fired Brick and Peeled Paint.  I added some gold to the flowers in the  center with Versamark Ink and Gold EP.  I decided to add some more ink around the image but I got a little carried away trying to be a bit artsy.  Also distressed the edges with the red ink. I attached the image to a card base of GKD Fresh Asparagus CS and  stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set. 

Did you know that Poinsettia is a tropical flower? And that the bright colors on the poinsettias are actually leaf bracts, not flowers.  The flowers are small and found in the yellow center of the stalk.

Falling Leaves

Welcome to the studio!  Today I am playing with the challenge #119 at Retro Rubber to use fall colors orange, red, and brown in a card using a stamp older than 1 year old.  I used GKD stamps from A Year of Leaves set that is dated 2009.  I stamped leaves and a sentiment using DOI Vintage Photo and Fired Brick on water color paper and used a water brush to color the leaves with DOI Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick and Walnut Stain.  I attached to a card base of GKD Dark Chocolate CS.  After making the top photo of my card,  I decided to add some splashes of color and made a second photo.  Not sure which I like the best but the top one is more CAS.

Challenges:
Retro Rubber Challenge #119: Fall colors of Orange, Red, and Brown.  GKD stamps are at least 9 years old.

Joyful Tulips

 Welcome to the studio!  Today I am sharing a Joy card that I made which was a joy to make.  I used  Penny Black stamps from the Friendship Flowers set.  I stamped the tulips twice with Versamark ink on watercolor paper and embossed with Silver EP.  I water colored the images with a water brush and Distress Oxide Inks Picked Raspberry, Peeled Paint, and Iced Spruce.  I stamped sentiments on the outside and inside with Peeled Paint.   I used the second image for the inside  but fussy cut only a portion of the image.
I assembled the Joy card using the image panels, Green CS for the smaller fold, Pink CS for the base card, and Striped Pattern Paper (from stash). I used a metal brad to keep the card closed.  I decorated the left inside with a Vine punched from the Green CS ( Martha Stewart punch) and attached Silver ribbon to the striped panel on the right side. (See photo of open card below).  The silver ribbon picked up the silver from the embossing which shows best in the lower photo.

Sparkly Flowers for a Birthday

Welcome to my studio this Monday!  Cannot believe July is almost over.  Today I have a card made with Repeat Impressions stamp Flower Power Background.  I stamped the image on Watercolor paper with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Stampendous White Pearls Translucent  EP and then water colored with DOI Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemon, and Spiced Marmalade. I added some sparkle to some of the flowers with Sakura Clear Star Pen.  Stamped a strip of Vellum with a GKD sentiment with the Spiced Marmalade and heat embossed with Clear EP.  Wrapped this around the image and  attached to a White CS panel and then a Yellow Card Base.

Bokeh Card with Watercoloring

Welcome!  I had so much fun making my first card with the Bokeh technique that I had to do another one but this time I used water coloring instead of sponging. On a panel of watercolor paper, I wet the paper with water using a brush and then dropped in colors with a water brush using Candied Apple, Lucky Clover, and Cracked Pistachio DOI until the panel was to my liking  This card has colors that contrast more than in my first attempt at Bokeh technique which was more monochromatic.  I then used my homemade template of circles with Hero Arts White ink and a dauber to create the Bokeh effect.  This is really fun to do as you watch the outcome of the design.  I decided to tear the edges of the finished panel to use a smaller section that I attached to a card base of GKD Grass Green CS, added a die cut of a branch with leaves, and stamped a sentiment from GKD  Whimsical Wildflowers set with GKD Fresh Asparagus ink.   I added some texture by embossing the lower part of the card with Cuttlebug EF Gingham Border.
I like the feeling of movement on this card that resulted from the Bokeh circles, the torn edges, the spreading branch, and the font in the sentiment.  It all seems to flow together.

Watercolor Wonder

Hello!  This CAS Christmas card was made by stamping a Penny Black  Poinsettia stamp with DOI Candied Apple on watercolor paper and coloring with a water brush using DOI. I stamped the Penny Black sentiment with Black ink.  Stamps all from PB Celebrate the Wonder Collection. Simply finished with a mat and card base of red card stocks.

Winter Flower

Hello!  Poinsettia is one of my favorite holiday flowers and I have a lot of stamps of this flower.  I used  a  stamp from Penny Black for this card.  I stamped the image with DOI on watercolor paper and colored with DOI with a water brush. Distressed the edges with the DOI.  Used Yellow Pearl Shimmering card stock for the  die cut words and card base. The shimmer of the CS does not show well in the photo. Added dots with Gold Liquid Pearls.
