Christmas in July

Hello!  July is a good time to make Christmas cards in order to have a stash for the holiday.   I made this card using a technique of thumping which is to ink a stamp with a marker and then add more color to by tapping a darker colored marker over the stamp.  I used GKD stamps from Pressed Flowers (flower and stem) and Joyful Holidays(Sentiment) with Memento Markers I inked the Poinsettia with Lady Bug and then thumped on  Rhubarb Stalk.  The stems were inked with Bamboo Leaves and thumped with Cottage Ivy. I use GKD dies to cut out the images and arranged on a embossed mat of GKD Grass Green CS. Stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts white ink and heat embossed with EP. Added a bit of gold embossing to center of flowers.

Bearing Flowers

Hello!  It has been a while since I featured one of my many bear stamps on a card.  This sketch from Tuesday Morning was perfect for this Penny Johnson stamp Bear Flowers. I stamped it on Ivory cardstock with Memento Espresso Truffle and colored with Copics.  I trimmed the image with an oval die and placed on a layer of Shimmery Pink CS cut with a scallop oval die.  Assembled the card with a Lacy Paper Doily from stash, a ShimmeryPink layer embossed with CB Polka Dots EF, and a card base  of Ivory.  Added Wine Satin Ribbon streamers with Die Cut Yellow flowers and a Tag (love).  Used a Metallic Gold Gelly Pen to add some accents but they are hard to see in photo.

Sweet Ice Cream

Hello! What's  better on a hot day than Ice Cream?  So I'm serving up a cone to share.  My DH said it looked good enough to lick!   I used Ice Cream Cone and Sentiment stamps from Repeat Impressions for my sweet treat.  Since I did not have the color that I wanted in a polka dot pattern paper, I created my own with White CS, Cuttlebug Polka Dot EF, and DI Spun Sugar ink for the dots.  My Ice Cream is made of Hot Pink Stickles. Other supplies: Hot Pink CS, Memento Toffee Crunch Ink, Copics E21, DI Picked Raspberry.

Blossoms and Butterfly

Hello! Today I am playing with some new stamps from Repeat Impressions that I won in July and today it's already September.....can you believe that?
I stamped the new Flower Power Frame with Memento Espresso Truffle ink and colored with Copics.  I stamped the center with a Repeat Impressions small Butterfly stamp that I also colored with Copics.  I die cut this with a Spellbinders die and edged it with a yellow Copic.  The RI sentiment was stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink and cut with a Spellbinder label die. I attached both die cuts on a MME Pattern Paper later and used a White card base.

Thanks with Polka Dots

Hello!  I am hoping everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is looking forward to the New Year.  I made this card a few days ago  and forgot to post but taking the time to do so now.  I created this one for the Stamp TV Mix It Up Monday challenge to use polka dots and used a sketch from Sweet Sunday. This sketch is their 300th challenge.   I used GKD Stamps from The Northwoods set and Memento Rich Cocoa and Truffle Espresso inks.  I used a Ivory Card base and Polka Dot patterns from stash (Maybe MME) and finished with some rhinestones.

Colors and Patterns Challenge

Hello!  The challenge at The Shabby Tea Room for week #262 is Colors and Patterns  shown in the graphic on the right.   When I saw the colors, I thought of a Thanksgiving card and pulled out polka dot and chevron patterns to use on rectangles --the shape inspired by the shapes of the bottles. The pine cones in the photo reminded me of an Embossing Folder Pine Branches by Darice.
I began the card by embossing a Ecru Glossy card stock and inking the raised designs with Memento Rich Cocoa and Tangelo inks. I cut the strips of Pattern Paper from Echo Park and created the chevron pattern by embossing a strip of the Ecru glossy paper and inking the surface. I fussy cut another pine cone using the EF and attached to the lower corner.  I cut the words with Cheery Lynn Dies to finish the card.  I think I managed to capture some of the colors and patterns from the inspiration.

Christmas in July

Another post for today!
This is a great day to spend in the studio...too wet to be outside.  I have been playing with a sketch from Sweet Sunday ...we can choose the one to use....so I am using the one from last week's challenge #275.  I decided to make a Christmas card which I repeated the Poinsettia stamp from Flourishes Poinsettias and Boxwood set stamping with Memento Lady Bug ink and cutting with circle die and added to a Crate Paper Pattern Dot .  The sentiment is Penny Black's Wonder Collection stamped on a bit of pattern paper from Crate Paper.
Other supplies: Copic R25, Circle Die, Yellow Glaze Pen, Ivory CS, GKD flourish stamp

White with Black

Hello! This card was made for the sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning and for the Designer's Choice Challenge to use White + One Color at The House that Stamps built.  I stamped Repeat Impressions Spring Blossoms stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on White CS and cut with Nesties Rectangle die. I attached this to  a frame cut with Scallop Rectangle die.  I used a Digital paper that I printed from my files for the background and a black card base. Finished with Black Ribbon with white stitches and added a Dragonfly brad.

Fresh and Fruity

 

Hello! What taste better on a hot summer day than a slice of cold watermelon?  I created this card using Repeat Impressions stamps.  The watermelon was colored with Copics and the sentiment stamped with Memento Cottage Ivy ink and cut with Lawn Fawn stitch circle die. I added a watermelon border cut with a Silhouette file on the Cameo.

Card for a Queen

Welcome to my studio!  Today I have a card that was inspired by several challenge.  I used stamps from an old Anna Griffin All Night Media kit that I think I bought at a garage sale.  I stamped the hat and sentiment on Ivory CS with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.  The handbags were stamped and colored the same and cut with a Spellbinder Die.  I used Clear Star pen to give some sparkle. Pattern Papers are from MME Market Street pad.  The top section was embossed with Cuttlebug Divine Swirls EF and inked with Gold Metallic ink. Finished with a narrow satin Wine ribbon on the diagonal.

Cupcake for You

Hello! Today I am serving cupcakes for the challenge at Fusion.  I used a Cupcake Template freebie from Stamp TV.  I printed the cupcake and icing on pattern paper and yellow CS, fussy cut and attached to an embossed oval of white CD. I used a Polka Dot pattern paper as background and a Cameo Cut Birthday sentiment attached to a Yellow Grosgrain ribbon all assembled on a White Card Base. The Birthday EF is Cuttlebug.

Spotlight on Gathering Flowers

Welcome!  This card was made using the Spotlight technique and a Digi from A Day for Daisies called Gathering Flowers.  I printed the digi twice leaving one in black and white and cutting and coloring a circle from the other image for the spotlight. I used a pink cardstock from scraps and a pattern paper from GKD Berries and Vines paper pad as mats for the image.  I embossed the pattern layer with Cuttlebug EF Polka Dots for texture. I finished with a White Cardstock Card base and a Pink Satin Ribbon with the sentiment from Annabelle Stamps Whimsey Flowers stamped in Memento Rose Bud ink.  Copics and Markers used for coloring.

Time to Play with Cards

My DH and I are in sunny Florida enjoying some sunshine instead of the snow and cold in Ohio. I had time today to make a card for Annabelle's challenges and a few others. I plan to keep my posts short and sweet while I am away in FL. In the photo, the popped up butterfly cast a long shadow on the card.  I have to find a better lighted location for making photographs.  The supplies for this card are stamps from Annabelle Stamp "All Things Grow", papers from My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing, white CS from GKD, Memento Inks Bamboo Leaves and Rose Bud, pearls colored with Copic YG63, Sakura ClearStar pen, and Cuttlebug EF Swiss Dots.
