Summer Birthday Wishes

Hello! Today I am sharing a card that I made using a GKD Stencil that was inspired by a GKD video called  5 Minute Card Easy Stenciled Mini Slimline Card.  I used the same stencil but changed it up by making a A2 card instead of a slimline card. I used the stencil, a stamp, and inks from the GKD Watercolor Spring Card Kit. My card base is GKD Innocent Pink CS and the Green mat is from my paper stash.

Seashell Background

Hello!  I am back with another nautical theme card using a sketch from the challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I made the background for the card using Spellbinders Impressabilities Sea Scape as a stencil using Distress Oxide ink on White CS Panel. The seashells pattern was inspired by the Mood Board from Double D Nautical Challenge. I used a textured blue CS as the card base and a rectangle  of the same CS to mat the Sentiment stamped in DOI Faded Jean on a die cut oval of white CS.  To keep in the nautical theme, for an embellishment, I added a Lighthouse button with "white rope".

A Shell for Your Pocket

Hello!  Another rainy morning in Ohio.  Not a good day for shopping Farmer's Markets, gardening, or playing at the pool.  So what is a girl to do?? Play in the Studio and make cards? That sounds good to me.  I am sharing a Single Layer/One Layer card made for some challenges.  And I again used some stenciling done with another Spellbinders Impressabilities  called Seascape. I used Memento Rich Cocoa ink, GKD Ivory CS, and GKD stamps Gifts From the Sea by Melanie.

Trying Stenciling

 Impressabilities Used

Second post today! Trying to play catch up on challenges.
Welcome to my studio!  Stenciling is a technique that I have not used much mostly because I do not have many stencils.  But, I had forgotten about some Spellbinders Impressabilities  that I bought about 5 years ago....just had to have but I not used much.  The Butterfly one (shown on right) that I used on this card I think I have never used. Stenciling seems to be all the trend.
I stenciled a portion of the stencil on white CS with Tumbled Glass  Distress Ink and then cut a Butterfly from the CS with Memory Box Pippi Butterfly Die .  I attached the white layer to a Card base of Blue and then added the butterfly and words to finish this CAS card. The words were cut with Cheery Lynn Dies from blue CS.

Thank You Card

I had decided that I would not make a card for Joan's Gardens Challenge this week but then I found some yellow tulle in my stash and decided I would give it a go.  The challenge is to make a card using 3 flowers out of vellum, use colors of golden yellow and violet , mesh or tulle, stencil on paper, and a product sold at Joan's.  I used clear vellum and colored it with Copics V09 and Y26 to cut flowers in violet and yellow gold using Heartfelt Creations Daisy Patch Dies (From Joan's) . I layered the flowers with tulle cut with the same dies to create the 3 flowers held together with gold brads. My card base is of Bazzill Textured Violet Cardstock is layered with Pattern Paper from Graphics 45  Once Upon a Springtime Pad (From Joan's )  that I stencilled with Blossoms and Ivy stencil  and a Thank You stencil using Distress Ink Peeled Paint.  This was the first time I used these stencils that I have had for a long time. I covered the pattern paper with the yellow tulle and then attached the three flowers.  I may have done the layout a bit differently if I had more time but I was working hurriedly to make the deadline. Stenciling Inspired by Batik Fabric

Saturday at the Stamping Convention, I broke down and bought one of the Spellbinders Impressabilities: Seascapes. Of course I had to try this out so I made a card for Gina K's Inspire Challenge - to look at  Batik photos and create a card that is inspired by what you see and maybe try the stenciling technique.  My card does not really have the bright colors of Batik but has that look. I stenciled with rich cocoa and then added some pumpkin spice for more color variation. Matted this on Pumpkin Spice and white card base. Added image of birds on the beach and sentiment.
