Luck of the Irish

Welcome! Today I have a St. Patrick's Day card that was created using elements that I had in my leftover stash. I have been trying to better organize items in my studio so I can better find things that I can put to use.  I came across a white cs background die cut with Spellbinders A2Divine Eloquence, some shamrocks cut with the Cameo using a Silhouette file, and a printed digital sentiment from Power Poppy.  I embossed the Shamrocks with Cuttlebug EF Tiny Bubbles. I die cut the sentiment with a label die and placed it on a mat of Green CS. (I created the mat by tracing the outline of the label die and fussy cut it from the green cs.) I assembled all my found elements on a Green Card Base that matched the Shamrocks and added in some Metallic Shamrock confetti from stash.  I finished the inside of the card with an Irish Blessing printed on the computer. 

FYI-The white frame was also embossed with a Darice Floral EF but it does not show in the photo.

Front of Card Highlights the Church

Inside Card

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Take Me to the Church is to make a Christmas Card with a church on it.  I have used an old PSX stamp Christmas Village for my design.  I stamped only a portion of the stamp on the inside of a White Card base to make the church the center of the design and colored the scene with markers, a white gel pen, and a Stardust pen.  On the front of the card I die cut a square window to expose only the church on the inside.  I framed that with a open square cut from Sage Green CS.  I stamped a Spellbinders Sentiment with SU Always Artichoke ink.  I also added a strip of the Green CS heat embossed with Silver EP with another Spellbinders Sentiment to finish the inside.  (Looks better IRL). The strip extends beneath the front of the card when closed.
 I have made many cards with this PSX stamp and each one has been a different design.

Hydrangeas from the Past

 Hello!  Today I have a card that I made for The Beach House challenge at Fusion Card Challenge which has both a Photo Inspiration and a Sketch.  See graphic on right.  You can use either one or combine both in a card.  I chose to use both.  When I looked closely at the photo, I saw a vase of hydrangeas on the table which reminded me of a PSX stamp that was one of the first rubber stamps that I purchased. I love this stamp of Hydrangeas but I have not used it in a long while.   I inked it up with Marvy Markers Bubblegum pink and Periwinkle and Memento Markers Angel Pink, Rose Bud, Pear Tart, and Bamboo Leaves and stamped on White CS.  I filled in the images using these markers but did so in a somewhat abstract style. I placed the image on a pale yellow card base with a plaid panel from MME's My Favorite Things pad.  Added a strip  of the yellow CS stamped with a sentiment from Avery Elle. I finished with Die cuts of Green CS and a yellow brad using Spellbinders Blossom Dies.   In addition to the hydrangeas and their colors,  I also pulled the colors yellow and greens  from the photo

Summer Gladiolus

Hello!  I was being a bit creative using this image of Gladiolus on its side but it's just the way  I felt doing it. No logical reason why I did it.... I know they do not grow that way.  Glads come in nearly every color of the rainbow and  I decided to do mine in coral and orange tones by coloring with Copics....sorry no list. I followed the sketch shown below right.

Krafty Gingerbread Christmas

 Hello!  Today I am sharing a Christmas card that I am entering in several challenges. There are many ongoing Christmas challenges for month of July and this week.  I made my card by stamping 3 Gingerbread men with brown ink on Kraft CS that I cut out and attached to 3 Red circles and added buttons for "their" Buttons and Liquid Pearls for the Icing on eyes and mouths.  Following the sketch on the right, I used a red card base and a layer of " krafty" pattern paper. I attached the images and added some ribbon with the sentiment and a ginger bread boy and girl button.

Mountain Lake Scene

Welcome to my studio! I have made a second card for Joan's Touch challenge to make a card using  layered nested frames of a scene cut with dies. More details on how to use this technique and the challenge are on Joan's Blog  http://www.joanstouch.com/.  While you are visiting,  take time to subscribe to Joan's new blog which she began after retiring.
For her challenge, Joan is asking us to use a scenery stamp, make a layer as she did (check her blog for details), use any color, and use a product sold at Joan's Gardens. .  All Heartfelt Creations Products used are from Joan's Gardens. I stamped the scene on a Pattern Paper which adds to the background.   I used more color in this card than my first one.  I used pencils and white pen to add greens to the mountains and white to the clouds. The pattern paper is predominantly shades of blue.

Hello!  This is a card using a sketch challenge with scraps of pattern papers.  Love it when I used some of those leftovers.  It took more time to select the papers with dots that I liked together than to make the card. I had the word cutout made with the Cameo already on hand on my desk.

Another Christmas Card in August

Welcome to my blog!  Today I am posting a card for Joan's Garden Challenge to make a Vintage card , use a bird, use a scenic pattern paper, use a die for your sentiment, and use a product sold at Joan's Gardens.  My Christmas Vintage card is made with a Webster Page from Waiting for Santa which I distressed with a paper distresser and Distress Ink Tea Dye. I wrapped this with twine from my stash and placed on a mat of Authentique striped paper from Collection Wonder. This went on a card base of Kraft Cardstock. I added the sentiment from GKD stamped with Memento Rhubarb Stalk on a die cut of parchment cut with Spellbinders Label 4 and layered on the striped paper cut with a larger Label 4. Finished with a leaf from stash and a red bird cut with a Marianne die. Thanks to my husband's suggestion,  I added some Stickles to the roof edges of the houses for sparkle.

Christmas Village

I am back to making Christmas Cards...I seem to be all over the place with challenges this week.  This was made for Craftyhazelnut's Challenge to include a building on our card. I have used a sketch from One Stop Craft Challenge and also BasicGrey papers so will enter this in those challenges too.

I have used an old favorite stamp by PSX "Christmas Village" colored with Copics, Markers and Pencils. I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and used only the center part of the stamp. The sentiment is from a Flourishes stamp set.  Corner punch and Spellbinder dies used also. Papers are Patterns from BasicGrey and Solid CS from stash.

Cover a Post A Note Challenge

This is a quick project that I did for Joan's Gardens Weekly Challenge #12. We are required to:
■ Cover a Post A Note
■Use some kind of Die Cut for a background
■Purple is this week's color
■Use a butterfly or something from nature

I made my cover from green textured CS 3.5" X 7.5" and added a top cut with Spellbinders Label 1 that I embossed with Cuttlebug EF "Birds in the Hand". Added 3 Butterflies cut from Purple CS with Cheery Lynn Dies.  Cut white CS with a smaller Labels 1die and stamped with a Gina K Designs stamp from Fanciful Tags using Memento Sweet Plum ink. On inside of the cover I embossed a row of dots on outside edge for a finish.
A simple but useful project. Thanks to Joan and Selma for another neat idea.

Double Peeking Bunnies

 The Sassy Cheryl bunnies on my card are peeking around to see if  Easter is on the way. I made this pastel card using the digi stamp colored  with Copics and Glaze pens. I sponged the sky and polka dots embossed on the white mat. Made a shaped card using Mojo Monday's round sketch for my design. May have gotten carried away with all the dots???  Inside, not shown, is stamped with a "Happy Easter" Sentiment.

In the Pink

Thanks Sent with Love

I am trying to get ahead with some challenges rather than posting just before the deadline.  I selected Paper Cupcakes' "Sent with Love" digi and their sentiment from "Know in Your Heart" for my Thank You Card. I used a layout from the sketch by Authentique. Colored with Copics, sponged edge of image and finished with yellow ribbon.

Challenges:
There's Magic in the Air: Challenge is "from the heart". Use an image that has a heart in it and your overall card has to be some kind of thank you card or card of encouragement.
Digital Tuesday Challenge: Punch it out. Used Spellbinder Die to punch out image.

Snowman from Sassy Cheryl

I saw this unique card called Double Dutch Fold on Beate Johns' blog  and had to try one. I used a digi "Up In Arms" from Sassy Cheryl for the top fold and colored the Snowman with Copics and markers. I cut the image with Spellbinders Labels 4 die. The card base is GKD Moonlit Fog and Pattern papers are from BasicGrey Jovial Paper Pad. Used a unknown sentiment stamped in Memento Rhubarb Stalk below upper fold which holds the card closed.(One side is attached with a dimensional and the other side has velcro so card opens easily). Stamped inside with some snowflakes and sentiment from Flourishes "Warm Winter Wishes" set.

Color Challenge from a Pear

I have another card to enter in hopes of winning Flourishes Stamps from their latest release which are just beautiful.  Perfect Pear Challenge is to be inspired by this photo and to use the colors in it — a light green, deep rose and tan.  I chose to use a stamp from  Flourishes "Wreaths of All Seasons" and a sentiment from "Taglines".

I began by stamping the wreath on white card stock with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored it with Copics R83,85, E0000, Green pencil, Distress Ink Crushed Olive, and Memento Pear Tart. I cut the image and pink mat with Nesties circle die and attached to a green mat cut with Lacey Circle Die. Base card of GKD Sand CS was layered with white CS wrapped with a double ribbon and embellished with pink rhinestones. Sentiment stamped with Memento Rhubarb Stalk on Sand label cut with Spellbinders Ribbon Tag (modified size).

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge 148

Hello. It's my second week as the December Guest Designer for  Flourishes Timeless Tuesday.  Our challenge this week is brought to us by our hostess Makiko. Her challenge is Opposites Attract! She is asking us to "Use the same image and make two cards/projects with two totally different looks, styles,  themes or colors. For example, you can make one card CAS and one with lots of layers, one feminine and one masculine, monochromatic and lots of colors, for a child and adult, for birthday and sympathy, etc. Anyway you think they are totally different or opposite."
To make my two totally different style cards,  I decided to use the Flourishes stamp set "Warm Winter Wishes" as it is very cold here in Ohio and we are thinking about snow.
My first card I made with the Snowman image is a very Clean And Simple (CAS) card. I made it one layer ...that's as simple as it can get! I stamped the snowman directly onto white card stock and used a die to give an embossed design around the image. Colored the image with Copics ( pastel theme used)  and stamped on some snowflakes and the sentiment. I scored some lines on the edges to give a bit more texture. Added some white stickles to finish.

Christmas Tag

Good Morning. Taking some time out to make a tag for some challenges. I used paper from Webster's Pages "Waiting for Santa & Sweet Season" and cut out a section using Spellbinders Classic Keyhole Die that I attached to white CS for the back (used same die).   I added some stickles to Santa and did some highlights with Sakura Clear star pen and Red Glaze pen. May have to enlarge to see. Stamped a sentiment from Flourishes "Doves and Holly" with Memento Rhubarb Stalk and stamped back with "To" and "From" from GKD. Edged Tag with Pilot Gold Marker. Finished with some metallic ribbon from stash to hang on package. Quick and simple tag but I liked the result.

Caroling Snowmen

When I made this card, I did not know that it was going to be so hard to capture the colors in a photograph to correctly show in my post. I used non traditional colors of brown and teal for the snowmen but the browns show more as a deep red. I used 2 images from Meljens Designs - Caroling Snowmen and Let it Snow. I colored the images with Copics and added some glitter with ClearStar Pen and used Black Glaze Pen on the noses. Used brads and photo holders on sentiment that I fancy cut.

Thankful for Daddy Bear

I am making this as a special Thanksgiving card for my husband whom I  affectionately call "Daddy Bear". The idea of this card has been churning around in my head since I read the challenge at the Scrapping Cottage Blog to create a project using frames and  use any Cottage Cutz die. I do not have any frame dies so I had to be creative and  use a die to make my own. I used the Cottage Cutz Acorn Embellishment Die and made my frame with leaves and branches cut with the die. I used the frame to highlight the Bear cut with Cottage Cutz Bear Die. Added some Acorns cut with the die.
