Sweet Treats for My Love

Welcome!  I was not going to make another Valentine Theme card but when I started playing with the sketch from Tuesday Morning Challenge, I ended up making another one.  I embossed a mat of Pink CS with Cuttlebug Victoria EF to begin my design. I stamped a Power Poppy image with Memento Black ink on White CS and colored with Copics and added some icing to the sweet treats using Pink Stickles. That really sweeten up the treats. I trimmed the image following the sketch and added a layer of Polka Dot Patterned Paper to create a frame of dots. I also embossed this layer another Cuttlebug EF. Stamped a Gina K stamp on scrap of Pink CS and die cut with Spellbinders Label die. Assembled the elements on a White Card Base and added a couple Shiny Red Nail Heads for some bling.

Inching Along with Christmas Card

Welcome to my studio.  Today I am playing with the challenge at Modsquad-Inching Along-to use inchies on your DIY card.  I used 6 white inches that I stamped with a Christmas motif with Gina K Designs stamps and matted with Green CS die cut with scallop square.  Supplies used: GKD Stamps from Peace & Joy, Holiday Wreath Builder, Seasonal Sentiments; Die from GKD Seasonal Sentiments, Inch Square Die, Scallop Square Die; Red Velvet CS, Green CS Scraps, White CS;  Memento Lady Bug and Cottage Ivy Markers, Distress Ink Barn Door; Versamark ink and White EP;  Cuttlebug Wicker Weave EF; Yellow Glitter Domes.
I arranged the inchies like a quilt pattern and used dry embossing to give depth and texture to the card.

Emerging Snowflakes

Hello!  Switching seasons today...thinking ahead to winter holidays making this Christmas card using Gina K Snowflake Stamps from Seasonal Sentiments set and the GKD Sentiment from Holiday Wreath Builder.  I was inspired to make this design after watching Gina K's September Release Video and her challenge  Emerging Images-use the Emboss Resist technique with your favorite stamps to make your images emerge from cardstock.  I stamped the Snowflakes with Versamark ink and heat embossed with White EP.  I then used Memento Summer Sky to bring out the images.  I stamped the words with Memento Blue Danube and added some rhinestones .  Inked the edges with Pilot Silver Metallic Pen and attached to GKD Powder Blue CS.

Holiday Cards for Stash

Welcome!   I have begun making Holiday cards to be ready when the season arrives.  I am sharing 3 cards in this post.  The top card uses a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches and some items that  I won recently in one of their challenges - DCWV Paper Pad The Christmas Basics and Bling It  Nail Heads.    Other supplies: GKD Stamps, Distress Inks,  Versamark Ink, White EP, Red and White CS, Gold Metallic Gel Pen. Circle Die.

The second card  uses the sketch from The House That Stamps Built with Repeat Impressions stamps with more papers from The Christmas Basics pad and the Bling It Nail Heads.   Other supplies: Memento Inks, Red CS from stash, Clear EP, Circle Dies.

This Christmas card was made for a color challenge using GKD Snowflakes and Sentiment stamps. Other supplies: Kraft and White CS, Versamark Ink, White EP, White Gel Pen, and a Wooden ornament embossed with White EP, and White Satin ribbon.

Happy Card

Hello! My card today features Power Poppy Hollyberries digital stamp that I printed and colored with Copics on white cardstock.  I edged the image with a Red Copic marker and placed on a panel of Pattern Paper (Crate Paper Peppermint pad)  embossed with CB EF Swiss Dots. I placed this on a Fresh Asparagus card base and added a Power Poppy sentiment from Dahlia set.  This card could be used for Christmas but also for a happy occasion such as a birthday.  I added 7 Red Rhinestones for some sparkle and texture.

Challenges:

Mod Squad Challenge: The challenge is Bling.  My choice of bling is rhinestones.

Bride with Shine

Hello!  Today I have been playing with shine and glitter on a Wedding card.  It is sooo hard to show the results in a photo so I have shared 2 photos of the card so that hopefully you will see the shine achieved with Sakura Stardust and Wink of Stella Pens.  More shine and shimmer is included in the Gold Shimmer CS by DCWV and the Metallic Gold Bells cut with the Cameo.  I was inspired by several challenges in the making of this card using a Digi Image from A Day for Daisies. The digi was printed on GKD heavyweight CS.
Other Supplies: White CS, Metallic Gold CS, Rhinestones, Pilot Gold Metallic Marker, Embossing Folder, New Epson Printer

Mod Squad Challenge: All That Glitters.  Missed last week's Wedded Bliss challenge but used that theme with my glitter this week.  Lot of glitter on the wedding dress.
Simon Wednesday Challenge: Simon says Add some Shimmer.  And my card shimmers in the cardstock and on the dress.

Note: I have a new Epson printer because my HP printer quit feeding heavier paper and struggles to print even after I cleaned the rollers and other maintenance.  For my birthday, I asked for Epson SureColor P400 which I can say is a dream printer for a crafter.  And my DH made my birthday wish come true.

Mother's Day

Hello!  It is hard to believe that Mother's Day is almost here.  I decided to make this card for my Mother using Repeat Impressions Spring Blossoms stamp and the sketch challenge from their blog.
I stamped with Memento Tuxedo ink and colored with Copics and added some shine with Stardust pen and a yellow Glitter Dome for bling.  I used Spellbinders circle die, a label die, and a pendant die.  Papers are Mint Green CS, Crafter's Shimmering Yellow Pearl CS, and ODB Shabby Rose Pattern Paper.  I hope you can see the beautiful shimmer of the Yellow CS that I decided to use also as the card base.  I use Gingham EF on the center strip of yellow.    The sentiment was printed on the computer with Cotillion Font.

Have a Holly Jolly

Hello!  Yes, I have another Christmas card....at least the weather is more Christmas like even though it is Spring.  I was inspired by the Challenge at Merry Monday to create a card based on a Christmas Carol. I thought of Burl Ives'  Have a Holly Jolly Christmas  and used a sentiment from Creative Vision with an EF Allegro from Darice to design this quick and simple card.   Added some sparkle and bling to finish.

Thanks with Polka Dots

Hello!  I am hoping everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is looking forward to the New Year.  I made this card a few days ago  and forgot to post but taking the time to do so now.  I created this one for the Stamp TV Mix It Up Monday challenge to use polka dots and used a sketch from Sweet Sunday. This sketch is their 300th challenge.   I used GKD Stamps from The Northwoods set and Memento Rich Cocoa and Truffle Espresso inks.  I used a Ivory Card base and Polka Dot patterns from stash (Maybe MME) and finished with some rhinestones.

Joy 2 Ways

 

 

Welcome!  Hope your day is filled with Joy!  I have made 2 versions of this card....the top one being very Clean and Simple.  I added more layers and some bling to the second one.  I used a digital image from Gina K Designs which is free at Stamp TV if you are a member.  I colored the image with Red, Greens, and Gold Copics.  I used a red pen to colored the smaller details on the ornament.  To give some shine I heat embossed the ribbon and red scrolls with Clear EP using a Versamark pen.  Also added some shine with Wink of Stella.  I used red mats cut with Spellbinder die on both cards.  I used GKD Green Card base and Gold gems on the second.

CAS for You

Hello!  Today I have a CAS card made for the challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches using both Colors and the Sketch this time.  I cut a panel of a Wisteria CS and embossed it with a Darice EF and edged it with SU Rose Red ink.  I stamped a Power Poppy sentiment with the same ink on a white Card Base. I used Heartfelt Creations Daisy Patch Dies to cut flowers from Bazzill  Berry Sensation CS and assembled the card adding some gemstones to the flowers.  I stayed very close to the sketch.  I love the color combo.

Happy Snowman Thinks He's Santa?

Hi there!  Today I have another Christmas card inspired by Challenge #32 at Tag You're It!  I had planned to use a Santa theme but I realized that I really do not have many Santa stamps....several digi ones in my file... mostly vintage ones... not a really cute one like I wanted.  Guess I have a reason to shop for stamps.
I decided to use this cute Snowman from Creative Clear Stamps set Let It Snow.  He is kind of like the Santa on the inspiration graphic....kind of round and square-ish and I made his coat and Santa  hat Red with Copics.  My layout was also inspired by the challenge....used Kraft and Embossed Snowflakes and 2 stripes of Pattern Paper. The words were die cut with Cheery Lynn dies from a Glossy Oyster Pearl CS. Pearls, Stickles, Clear Star pen and Twine finished the project. Inks used were Memento Tuxedo Black and Brilliance Platinum.

World Card Making Day

 

Hello! As today is World Card Making Day, I must spend the day or some of it making cards.  And since it has been raining all day,  what else is a girl to do?  House cleaning, ironing....NOT!  I thought I'd join in the fun at Power Poppy and make a card for their challenge.  Check it out at Power Poppy-The Blog.

How to Play: Make sure to use all 3 Elements                     

1. Use the sketch as inspiration

2. Use non-traditional colors to create  a holiday card

3. Add a  little sparkle or bling

 

Below is my card that I made with Power Poppy Poinsettia Stamp Set.  I stamped the image with Memento Espresso Truffle ink and colored with Copics and used Wink of Stella and Sakura Clear Star Pen for some sparkle. Following the challenge sketch, I used pattern papers from Fancy Pants Timbergrove pad, Cheery Lynn Doily Die, a Nesties Oval Die to create the elements for my design.   The sentiment was stamped with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink and edged with a Copic.  To finish, I added some rhinestones to the center of the flower and a snowflake.  They were added to make sure I had some bling that showed since the sparkle on the image is hard to see in the photo. Kraft, Mint Green, White card stocks were used along with several patterns.

April Showers

Yesterday was a beautiful day in Ohio but we had some showers late in the day.  I have another card made on a rainy day. This was embossed using Darice EF Raindrops on Blue CS.  I paper pieced the umbrella with a scrap, added an enamel dot, and used Clearstar Pen on the raindrops.  I trimmed out the rectangle with a Die Cut and attached Daisies made with Susan's Garden Dies and scraps of CS to white CS. The sentiment was printed on the computer. How does your garden grow?

Blue and Silver Christmas

I know it is Spring but I still am making Christmas Cards, but it does have a flower.  I made this for the challenge at The Glory of Christmas to use Blue and Silver on a Christmas card.

My Inspiration

Hello! Did you read my teaser post on Friday about the inspiration that I found in the photo shown on the left?  No? Well, I challenged myself to make a card using this ad in WSJ as inspiration for a card design.  The result is shown below. I went all out with bling on the butterfly and flowers. I used GKD butterfly stamp from The Flight and flowers from Unforgettable.  The butterfly was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold EP. I colored with Pink Copics and attached the bling with Glossy Accents. I used Memento Rose Bud and Bamboo Leaves markers for the flowers...some of the stems were drawn in freehand.  Masking was used.  I added Glitter Domes to the center of the flowers.  I used Grass Green CS for the card base and Gold Metallic CS as a layer under the image.  All bling was from my stash.

I decided not to add sentiment until I use the card.
