Snowman and Snowflakes

Hello!  I took out some time to make a Snowman card using one of my fave Snowman stamps from Flourishes Warm Winter Wishes set.   He was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on White CS and colored with Copics and sponged with Summer Sky Ink. I trimmed him with Spellbinders Labels dies and matted on Hero Arts Green CS. Added some stickles and liquid pearls. Finished with a White card base and background of Fancy Pants Pattern Paper from Timbergrove pad. Added sentiment stamped in SU Sage Shadow ink cut with more of the Labels dies and Snowflakes cut with Sizzix die from Glossy White CS. The ribbon at lower edge of card is American Crafts.

Winter Wishes

Welcome to my studio. Today I have a very quick and simple card....a CAS one.  This will fit several challenges.  On the card base of Bazzill  blue CS, I attached a mat of lustrous Oyster Pearl CS and topped that with a die cut of the Blue CS using Spellbinders die and a Glittery Snowflake (glitter CS) cut with Sizzix die.  I added a bling of Blue gem mounted in silver and stamped Winter Wishes using Versamark and Zing Silver EP.  The unknown stamp was a freebie  that came with a magazine.

You Are a Star on Your Birthday

 Hello!  Today I have a card made for the challenge at Poppy Sketches to use pops of Raspberry, Blueberry and Granite.   I used a base card of White that I embossed with Cuttlebug EF Stars but to be different I adhered the dark CS cut 4.25" x 5.5" to the inside of the card base so I had an edge of Granite when the card is closed. The dark CS looks more black but is really a dark gray color.   I added a strip of Chevron Pattern scrap with a Raspberry flower cut with Nesties Blossom dies and navy brads. The word Happy was cut with a Cheery Lynn die from Blue CS scrap.  Inside I continued with the word Birthday cut in Raspberry with  a Marianne die and added a white star cut with a Sizzix die and stamped with "You are a Star", a Flourishes stamp using Memento Blue Danube ink.

One Layer Challenge

Back today for a quick post for the Less Is More Challenge....to make a one layer card with a focus on Starry, Starry Night.  I was trying to think of a scene but decided to cut some stars in a Navy CS backed with white using a Sizzix die.  I simply sponged the Stars with DI Squeezed Lemonade using a mask and then stamped sentiments from Creative Vision with Memento Nautical Blue.  Shown below is inside of card.

Glittery Snowflakes

Welcome!  I am adding another card to my Christmas stash.   This was made
for the Merry Monday challenge to use Snowflakes, dry embossing and neutral colors.  I began with an Ivory card base topped with lustrous, glossy Oyster Pearl CS embossed with Darice EF Snowflakes  attached with foam tape. I love the elegant color of this CS.  I added a torn strip of clear Vellum stamped with a sentiment from GKD that I heat embossed with white EP.  The final additions were floating Snowflakes cut with Sizzix dies in DCWV Glittered paper also in a neutral color.  I added pearls to the centers for more texture and shine.  I am pleased with the final results.

Christmas Ornament

Hello!  I am rushing to enter before the challenge at CAS(E) this sketch closes.  The sketch is shown on the right. I used a Sizzix Ornament die cut in red CS and gold glitter CS. The card base is a gold metallic CS layered with red CS inked with gold ink.  The sentiment was heat embossed with gold EP on a label cut with a Spellbinder fancy label die. Finished with a bit of metallic ribbon.

A Glow for Good Times

Today, I am sharing a CAS card, at least I think it is CAS.  I made this card using a sketch challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  I made with some 12"X12" glitter paper I bought some time ago for 39cents.  I used black cardstock for card base and layers between layers of the gold. Stars were die cut with Sizzix die. Repeat Impressions Stamp  was gold embossed for more glow.   I thought this was a great sentiment for this glowing card.

Shake It Up

Hello!  I debated whether I wanted to make a shaker card but finally gave in and made a birthday card with stars and stripes with star confetti inside the star window.  I stamped the sentiment from Winnie and Walter's The Big, The Bold, and The Happy set  in the back of the window.  I always find it hard to photograph shaker cards and capture the items shaking.  I made the window using an acetate recycled from the package of some dies. Star confetti was from stash as well as papers. I used Sizzix die to cut the stars.

One Layer Cards with Thanks

 I did not plan another post today but the deadline for the Less Is More Week 145 challenge is approaching  and I did want to do a couple of entries for their One Layer Thank You card challenge.
For the first card, I simply used 2 embossing folders, one a floral border and one a small Thanks EF.   I embossed the 2 on White Cardstock and then highlighted  the raised areas with Memento Rich Cocoa, Bamboo Leaves, and Peanut brittle inks.  The EF's were Sizzix for the text and Cuttlebug for the Border.

 

I used a Sizzix EF for this second one layer card by embossing the front of the card of Green Cor'dinations Paper and then sanding to reveal the embossing. Easy Peasy!

Another Bookmark

 I had so much fun doing the cookbook bookmark that I had to post another bookmark for Joan's Garden Challenge. Check here for the challenge.

Using a corner cut from a lilac envelope, I created this marker that turned out looking like an Easter bonnet (use your imigination) but that was not the plan. I had some leftover petals and leaves that I had cut using a Lilac Sizzix die which I have now misplaced and cannot find. Lucky me that I had some pieces cut. Used a Martha Stewart Lattice border punch for the edge so that the lilac shows through. Used Green CS to cover the front and back. After assembling the bookmark, I added stick on-pearls.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge 148

Hello. It's my second week as the December Guest Designer for  Flourishes Timeless Tuesday.  Our challenge this week is brought to us by our hostess Makiko. Her challenge is Opposites Attract! She is asking us to "Use the same image and make two cards/projects with two totally different looks, styles,  themes or colors. For example, you can make one card CAS and one with lots of layers, one feminine and one masculine, monochromatic and lots of colors, for a child and adult, for birthday and sympathy, etc. Anyway you think they are totally different or opposite."
To make my two totally different style cards,  I decided to use the Flourishes stamp set "Warm Winter Wishes" as it is very cold here in Ohio and we are thinking about snow.
My first card I made with the Snowman image is a very Clean And Simple (CAS) card. I made it one layer ...that's as simple as it can get! I stamped the snowman directly onto white card stock and used a die to give an embossed design around the image. Colored the image with Copics ( pastel theme used)  and stamped on some snowflakes and the sentiment. I scored some lines on the edges to give a bit more texture. Added some white stickles to finish.

Another Christmas Mini Box

Hello...back for a second post. I had so much fun making a mini pizza box using Selma's directions found here that I had to make another one. This one is also made with BasicGrey Figgy Pudding papers for the box and band. I made the ornament with a Cuttlebug Die and Embossing Folder "For You" from Cranberry Tart and Green CS. Cut some branches from Gold Metallic CS with Sizzix "Branch" Die and attached to back of ornament. Finished with some Gems and Gold Metallic Ribbon Bow.
I know I will be making more of these neat boxes.

Joan's Gardens: Use Selma's new technique for creating a box, use a band around the box, use Christmas Paper (Graphic 45 if possible), decorate the pull off band. Did have any 12x12 paper from Graphics 45.

Cardinal on a Snowy Day

One of the most beautiful sights in the winter is a bright red cardinal sitting in a snow covered tree. That is the scene that I tried to create in this card.

Playing with Lovely Labels

I recently received the Fanciful Tags and  Lovely Labels sets from GKD and the Spellbinders Labels 4. Using these items together, I have made some quick and  "lovely" cards.  I think this took less than 20 minutes....was not really timing.

Seasons Greetings from Teddy

I love this LOTV stamp of Teddy Sledding. Made another Christmas card for several challenges.
Used a sketch from Critter Sketch but missed entering into that challenge. Colored image with Copics and Silver Jelli pen. Added snow and snowflakes with Stickles to the image. Used navy base card that I edged with Brilliance ink. Squares of navy embossed and inked to bring out raised areas. Matted on white squares. Finished with ribbon and sentiment on a snowflake.

Oriental Theme Challenge

Found a new challenge on Saturday from Secret Crafter. This week's challenge is set by Tracie who has chosen a theme of ORIENTAL. Any project as long as it is oriental themed.
My card includes a folded paper kimono made of some unidentified paper from my stash. I layered this on a mat that I embossed with a Sizzix texture plate. Attached this to a mat of textured blue Bazzill CS and then to an ivory base card. I edged the mats with a Pilot Gold Marker Pen before I assembled.  The sentiment was stamped with Fiskars Basic Font Clear Stamps using versamark and embossing with Gold EP.  Sash is a gold mesh Ribbon. I learned this folding technique when I did this a similar card for my stamping group.
 Also entering this at Charisma Cardz Challenge: Add an extra fold to your card, maybe an easel style, gatefold, criss cross style, make a gift box, try some origami, etc.

Circle Card

Melissa's sketch this week at Stamp TV is a circular design as shown lower right.  I cut a folded circle and matted on a scallop circle of green CS. I stamped the floral design on a smaller circle inking the stamp directly and matted this on a green circle and surrounded with the cut out swirls. Added a strip of pattern paper and pearls to complete the card.

Crepe Paper Flowers

Focus of this card that I made for a challenge by Linda at Stamp TV  and for the challenge at Joan's Gardens are the crepe paper flowers that I made.
Cut the petals for the flowers using Spellbinders Blossom die and inserted brads in center to hold together. Cut leaves with a Sizzix die. Placed the flowers and leaves on a precut oval that I had left from a scrapbook project. Put this on a white mat that I decorated the corners with a punch. Following a sketch from Sweet Sunday which I turned on the side, I stamped a sentiment on one rectangle and a "Lace" Paper on another.  Assembled card and added some pearls.

Joans Gardens:  Make a pink and white card, and be sure you have 4 corners punched preferrably with a Martha Stewart Punch-- if you don't have any, you can substitute something else.

Fall Is Coming?

I have been "stalking" the lovely challenges and entries at Joan's Gardens and decided this week to join in. Her challenge this week is to do a fall theme card using pumpkins or fall leaves with either embossing or glitter. I dusted off an old pumpkin stamp that I love and was one of the first used stamps I bought but is one of my faves.  I colored the image using Copics and added glitter to the leaves. I matted the image with a dark green CS. On top of the base card is an embossed mat that I sponged  the raised edges. I added a cutout flourish that I tucked under the image and left loose on the card to mimic a vine. Finished with a sentiment stamped on an oval.
