Beary Christmas Wishes

Hello!  As you may know, I love Teddy Bears and love to make cards featuring them.  The challenge at The House That Stamps Built was right up "my alley" - the theme is Bear Hugs.   I made this Christmas card using Repeat Impressions stamp Bear Hug that I stamped on a white panel with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Chestnut EP.  Not sure why I did not just stamp with brown ink?  Anyway, I then colored with Copics and textured the bear fur on the larger one with a piece of terry cloth and Copic Colorless Blender ink. Made him a very fuzzy bear.  I heat embossed the stylized star (from a magazine freebie) and Repeat Impressions sentiment with Versamark ink and Gold EP.  Edged the image with Pilot Metallic Gold marker and placed on Red Velvet card base.

Shall We Dance?

Welcome!  Some stamps just make me smile, like this one - dancing bears from Lili of The Valley called Shall We Dance which I have had over 5 years.   I stamped the image with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on GKD white CS and colored with copics.  I had fun accessorizing their fancy outfits with Black Gemstones(cufflinks and buttons)  and Pearls (necklace and shoes).  I did a color wash in the background with Distress Oxide Ink and a water brush.  After trimming the image, I adhered it to a mat of dark gray CS and then to a base card of shimmering  pink pearl CS. The GKD sentiment was stamped with black ink and embossed with clear EP.  I will stash this card away for our anniversary in October.

Bearing Flowers

Hello! This sweet card uses a Penny Johnson stamp Bear Flowers.  I stamped the image on Kraft CS with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with pencils and odorless mineral spirits(OMS).  I added a GKD sentiment using the same ink.  I simply framed with a Pink CS mat and then placed on a textured Green card base.  I found this forgotten unused stamp in my studio when searching for something else.  This will be another card for my Mother who is 97 years young Friday.

NBUS Challenge: #8 Use Never Before Used Schtuff.  Darnell wants us to use Colored Pencils with Kraft.

Birthday Greetings

 

 

Welcome!  Today I am using one of my favorite bear stamps, Belle, from Repeat Impressions but using it with a new technique of using nesting dies to emboss an impression background.   I saw this technique on Jennifer McGuire's blog and had to try.  The embossing makes a nice frame around my Bear in Pink.  I stamped her with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, colored her with Copics, and fussy cut the image.  I added some foam craft to her back before attaching to the White card base.  Finished with Cheery Lynn die cut words cut from DCWV adhesive Pink CS. I edged the card with a pink Copic marker.

Relax on Father's Day

Hello!  I have been playing with an old LOTV stamp with James Bear Deckchair Dreaming which I know I have had since 2010 or earlier.  I stamped the image and colored with Copics and die cut with Nesties circle die and then added to a design made with Bazzill Grapefruit Bliss CS and pattern papers from MME Collectable pad. I used the sketch from Retro Rubber Challenge #40.  I finished with a Father's Day sentiment from GKD stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Red EP.

Balloons for Valentine's Day

Hello!  Another tag today. When looking for an image to use for the tag challenge shown on right, I found this digital image of Cuthbert Bear (Polly Craft) with balloons and just had to make another tag with this cute image.  This one I made for Valentine's Day using stamps from Winnie and Walter.  After coloring Cuthbert with Copics I fussy cut him and attached to a tag of water colored paper smooshed with Distress Ink Stormy Sky.

Lucky Bear

Hello on this Monday Morning!  Today I am sharing a tag that I made for the challenge at Tag You're It ! #38 shown on the right.   I was inspired by the layout, the water color background, and animal theme in Tracey's tag.  I chose a bear instead of an elephant and a St. Patrick theme for my tag.  I used an unidentified Lucky Bear from my digital files with a computer generated sentiment on watercolor paper.  I used Distress Inks for the background and copics for coloring.  I used Glossy Accents on the Shamrock Balloon and finished with green and white twine.

From the Heart Bear Greetings

 

Hello!  I am a sucker for any Bear Theme stamp and I just had to have this cute one which I just found.  There is a challenge to use this particular stamp at From the Heart  blog and it ends today so I must hurry to post.  I printed the Bear with Gifts on white CS and colored with Copics with the addition of some Gold EP, Wink of Stella, and Liquid Pearls.  I cut the image out with a circle die and added to a red circle and then a layer of Striped Pattern paper before attaching to a white card base. I kept the card pretty simple and used a Sketch from the same blog as I found the card challenge.   I hope it is allowed to add the card to both of the challenges.

Fuzzy Bear and Frosty the Snowman

Hello!  I have been playing with the technique that you emboss cardstock with an embossing folder inked with Versamark and then heat emboss it with EP.  I tried this with the Snowflakes EF from Darice with Silver EP.   I used this as a background behind a fussy cut Snowman holding a Bear that I stamped and colored with Copics and markers on white CS.  The image is popped up with foam tape and has great dimension in real life.  I finished with a wintery sentiment from Creative Clear stamps in red ink and Sakura Glitter Pen. Also used some stickles, liquid pearl, glaze pens, red glitter glue.

Retro Rubber: Challenge 29 Holiday Spirit,  The Snowman and Bear stamp called Fuzzy Bear is a PSX design from 1999.  I have used it for many years.

Bearing Gifts

 Hello! Happy Saturday!    Did you go shopping yesterday?  I spent the day at home and only shopped online.   After many years in retail stores, I certainly have no desire to venture out shopping on the day after TG.

I have a card for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #337 with the theme of Bears....you know how I love Bears so I had to enter this but time is running out.  I used a Crafty Sentiments Digital image Bear with Sled printed on Water Color Paper and colored with Copics and Glaze Pens and added some Sakura Stardust glitter. Heat embossed some snowflakes since he needed them for his sled. Sentiment from MFP was heat embossed with Zing Chestnut EP. Papers from stash including the pattern from Fancy Pants.

Teddy in a Stocking

 

 

 Welcome!  I am back with another tag and card made with the same tag.   I used a digital image Teddy from A Day For Daisies that I colored with Copics and added some stickles to the image.   The tag was finished with a GKD sentiment and a knotted ribbon.   To make the card, I used a White CS card base, a striped paper from Pebbles Pad Welcome Christmas, and a layer of textured handmade Red Paper ( purchased).  The tag was attached to the layers.

James On the Move with Wrapped Gifts

 

 

Hello!  I have been playing with one of my Lili of the Valley stamps called James Sledging Along.  I have had this stamp for a number of years.  I stamped him in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored  him with Copics and added some glitter with Glaze pens and Clearstar pen.  I followed a sketch from

C.R.A.F.T. Sketch challenge placing the image on a layer of Glitter CS and adding elements of ribbon, heat embossed sentiment, and some gifts wrapped in glittery ribbon.  The top Gift is actually a button and the bottom 2 were made from layered chipboard that I colored and wrapped in Metallic Ribbon.  The sentiment is an old one that I heat embossed with Gold EP. Papers are Red CS from stash and a pattern from American Crafts Kringle & Co pad.

My Favorite Things

 Hello! I have spending some time with some of my favorite things. For example, one of my fave bear stamps from Repeat Impressions, fave  Challenges, and a Paper Pad from MME called My Favorite Things. I came up with this card using a favorite technique Paper Piecing.  How appropriate that the paper reads "These are a few of my favorite things."  No verse needed for this card.

Bear, Birthday, Balloons

 Hello! Today I have a tag that I made for Tag You're It! Challenge #28.   We are to make a tag inspired by the one made by Joni Mitchell shown on right.  I, of course, stayed with a bear theme holding balloons that I cut with a circle die from paper scraps. The bear is a stamp from Creative Clear stamps in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.
Word dies are Cheery Lynn.
I used a precut Tag and added a double sided ribbon in blue and red to finish.

Antique Bears

 Hello!  Today I am using a stamp that I think I purchased at a garage sale years ago....I collect bear stamps as well as teddy bears.  I never used this one but thought of it when I was looking for something for a couple of challenges.  I stamped the Antique Bears from Hero Arts(1994) with Memento Rich Cocoa on White CS and colored with Copics.  I stamped the Flourishes sentiment from Kids Play with the same ink.  I assembled the card with Crate Paper pattern and White CS base following the Retro Rubber sketch shown below and added ribbons and buttons to complete.

Love and Hugs

Hello!  I have been playing with some Repeat Impressions Stamps and some Patterned Paper from Crate Paper to create this card for the What If? Wednesday sketch challenge J2415 at The House That Stamps Built shown on the left.
I used 3 of the Bear stamps from Repeat Impressions.  Hugs Flip set and part of the sentiment stamp from the same set.  The Bears were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa on watercolor paper and water colored with Distress inks.  I just happened to pick up a scrap of water color paper, no other reason that I did with watercolors.
Other supplies: Red CS, Ivory CS, Spellbinder Heart Dies, Corner punch, Memento Rhubarb Stalk Ink, Red Marker, Clearstar Pen.
