Hannah in the Garden for Joan's Gardens

For this card I used a character stamp from The Pixie Cottage "Spring Time Hannah With Butterflies" by Sandra Hammer. I just love this little girl who is always shown with her back to us.

This week Joan's Gardens, the challenge #22 is to use a character ( preferably Magnolia or Sarah Kay) , some thing that sparkles, Nestie by Spellbinders - New if you have one, and a greeting.
I used the character, Hannah, and for sparkle I used  pattern papers with glitter and a Sukara glitter pen to highlight parts of the image and sentiment. I cut the image and mat with Nesties and used a birthday greeting. I used a sketch from ThePixie Cottage shown on the right.

Cardinal on a Snowy Day

One of the most beautiful sights in the winter is a bright red cardinal sitting in a snow covered tree. That is the scene that I tried to create in this card.

Non-Traditional Colors for Christmas.

I am  very traditional when it comes to making Christmas cards but I have steered out of my element in making this non-traditional look for this card. Found a piece of  paper that I had printed using a free digital download from Gina K's Stamp TV.  Just the right size to cut in two parts and use on a mat of GKD PL Brown CS layered on a base card of Oyster Pearl CS. Cut an ornament in Brown from an adhesive backed CS from a DCWV matstack using a Cuttlebug Ornament Die.  Trimmed it with a brown and pink organdy ribbon and some pearls. Easy to attach to the card. Made the sentiment with stamp from GKD "Fanciful Tags" by Nina and used Spellbinders Fancy Tag Die.
Challenges:
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge: Use the sketch shown to the right. I used bling on ornament instead of at bottom of card and think this is fussy and fancy enough to qualify.
There's Magic in the Air: Debbie challenged us to use non-traditional Christmas colors and make a Christmas card. Will do another one with a Paper Cupcake image but this card fit their challenge.
Stamp TV Challenge: Make holiday with non-tradtional holiday colors.

Sophisticated Card with a Touch of "Diamonds"

Annabelle's sketch challenge runs for a full month and I always wait until it is almost over before I enter. This month I am doing it early for a change and not going to forget the bling. When I saw this sketch I thought of some rhinestones I saved from an old hat and used them as my inspiration for this card. I ended up with a Christmas card using mainly black, white and silver with a lotta bling.

Another Card for Christmas



CPS 190

 This was a very quick and simple card made following the Card Pattern sketch 190 shown on the right. I used a Brown CS from GKD as the base and embossed with CB EF Divine Swirls. Layered the Basic Grey Pattern Paper from Jovial  pad on a mat of Red CS from stash and attached to the card. Used Spellbinders Labels 4 to create the sentiment that I stamped with GKD "Festive Frame" in Memento Rich Cocoa.
Added a Poinsettia from my stash of flowers. Love this paper from Basic Grey.

Say It In Black and White

Say It in Black and White is a challenge at Annabelle Stamps blog. I stamped this lighthouse from Just for Fun Stamps in Memento Tuxedo Black on white CS, of course. I cut the image with Spellbinders Labels 4 die and then attached to a textured black mat embossed with CB EF Diamonds. I placed this on a base card of glossy white CS. I made the sentiment using stamps from GKD Fanciful Tags Stamp Set by Nina  and cut it out with Spellbinders Fancy Tags die. Finished with 2 Hero Arts Black Pearls for bling. This would be a good card to enter into a challenge "Make a Card with Something that I Won" since all the items that I used in this card were won by me except for the papers.  Hmmmm, maybe this give someone an idea?

Christmas Card for Challenges

I tried making this card with a tree cut out from one I had embossed with gold but not that pleased with the outcome but here it is anyway.

Challenges to enter:
Joan's Garden Challenge: Card to have a tree (any kind),  an embossed object (not a background) , something cut out with a die , and brads.
My tree is heat embossed with Gold EP as well as dry embossed ...the tree with CB EF Swiss dots and the pot with CB EF Herringbone. If you enlarge the photo, you may see the details better. Mat for tree is cut with a Spellbinders Label 4. Gold metal trees are brads.

ABC Christmas Challenge: Use sketch shown on right.  V is for vertical and there should be more than 2 items on the card that start with V. Have to stretch to have my 'V''s but here goes: Versamark ink for embossing, Stamp used for tree is from "Very Merry Christmas" set, ribbon is Vertical as well as card, and Brads are Very Shiny.

Thursday Sketch Challenge - 3/25/10 - STVSCVD04

Vicki's Thursday Sketch Challenge at Stamp TV  is shown here. She has come up with great sketches the last 4 weeks. Decided to make another Easter card because it is almost time to mail them.  Starting with a white base card,  I added mat of blue. I cut 2 squares of yellow the same size. I stamped sentiment on  yellow one and sponged around the words and used a CB border folder at bottom . Added pearls. Added the smaller ibbon around this square. Added this to blue mat and added second ribbon. I stamped the Iris on a smaller square of white and colored with markers and pencils. Added some glaze on petals  for highlights Place this on a mat
of yellow.  I did some embossing and sponging on inside and added a verse.

Just Us Girls Challenge

      This week's challenge at Jugs is to make a project using dry embossing and to make a birthday card for Dana. I used a green base cardstock and layered with white CS embossed with CB Happy Birthday folder inked with pink on upper half and CS embossed with CB Birds and Swirls folder on lower part. Used pink and white patterned paper on a pink mat for bottom. Cut out words and attached. Added some ribbon, bling, and glitter to finish.

Kate's Birthday Card

My great-niece, Kate, will be 7 years old  Sunday, Oct 4.  For her birthday card, I was inspired by a digital image of a little girl holding a dog because the girl in the image resembles Kate and she loves her dog, Alvin. I paper pieced  and colored  the image. I used markers and pencils with OMS. I used Versamark and clear EP and heat embossed the eyes and nose of the dog and the handles and buckle on the purse. I added a ribbon belt and chenille scarf to the girl. Since Kate loves her crocs, I tried to make shoes that look like them. I sponged the edges of the image with pink and purple and added  rhinestones in the corners. For the backgound, I embossed glossy white CS with CB's Happy Birthday folder that I inked with pink. Then I rubbed the embossing with a purple ink pad. I attached this to a mat of purple CS and attached  a polka dot wired ribbon to the bottom of the mat. I added more bling to the embossed CS.   I printed the inside and back of the white CS (see pictures) with the computer and assembled the card.

What girl her age does not love pinks and purples? I know that Kate does!
