Fall on the Way

Hello! I have been enjoying the cooler temperatures the past few days and looking forward to the colors of fall.  I made this fall theme card using the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.   I came across some leftover punched leaves (in assorted fall colors) from another project and decided to combine them with die cut squares from fall color CS. I embossed the gold layer with Cuttlebug Leafy Branch EF before arranging the squares and leaves.  The sentiment from Gina K Stamps is from A Year of Leaves set and stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  All cardstock from stash and scraps.

Thank You Tag

 

Hello!  I made this tag for the challenge at Tag You're It!  My tag is inspired by the one created by Michelle Short shown on the right.  I cut my tag using a Spellbinders Die and a corner punch and a hole punch.  I sponged the white CS using Memento Bahama Blue ink and then attached the flower cut with Memory Box Die Darling Poppies from yellow and green CS's and the word Thanks cut with a Cheery Lynn die.  Finished with a yellow twine.

Peaches and Cream

It has been a creative kind of day....I have a lot of card ideas running around in my head. Two weeks ago,  I visualized this card the minute that I saw this photo challenge Peaches and Cream at The Shabby Tea Room but I kept trying to come up with something more like a Peach, the fruit theme,  but I finally just had to create my original thought into paper and ink.  I heat embossed  the Hero Arts Leafy Vines stamp with White EP on a Peachy color CS from my stash.  This was also spritzed with Gold Glitter Mist but it does not show in photograph.  I added Die Cut and Punched Butterflies of Glossy White CS which is also the card base. Finished with a Papers and Such stamp "Fluttering By to Say Hi..." and some flourishes of pearls.  I really like my interpretation of this challenge. 
Guess it is never too late to commit to an idea.....but the challenge is almost ended, better hurry.

Morning!  Brrrrr!  It's cold outside....a great day to stay in and craft or take down the tree.  I was playing with a new GKD stamp set Joyful Holidays which is really a Christmas set but I used the tree stamp for this thank you card.  I stamped it using Memento Bamboo Leaves ink and decorated it with punched out flowers (used hole punch) from the Pattern Paper in the background. I used GKD Papers Honey Mustard, Ivory and the pattern from Autumn Landscape pad. The sentiment is from GKD Autumn Always and inked with Memento Peanut Brittle.   The flowers almost look like sequins but are simply paper.

Girl Stuff and a Little Bling

Second Post today:  Some of the challenge deadlines are near closing so I had to do another post.

I  do not make too many "Girlie" Cards but I just had to used stamps from Mark's Finest Paper You've Got Style  to create a card for a challenge to use heels, hats, and handbags and used the sketch challenge from The Kraft Journal. I threw in some punches and dies to meet some other challenges.   I stamped the handbag on white cardstock using Memento Espresso Truffle ink and then paper pieced with Kraft paper and colored with pencils and a gold metallic pen. The shoes were stamped with the same ink on Red paper and fussy cut. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Zing EP Chestnut and cut with a spellbinders word window die. The flowers were punched with SU flower punches from paper in Fancy Pants Design Trend Setter paper pad. Cut a circle with Nesties die and stamped Wow with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink. I assembled all the elements and just had to add red rhinestones ....what girlie card does not have Bling?  This was a fun card to create.

Chill Out With Ice Cream

I am running a bit late with this card for Crafty Sentiments Designs Challenge here to use dies and punches but I think I have time to get it in.  We are to use Dies and Punches. I am using the digi Ice Cream Sunday Harriet which I colored with Copics and cutout with a Spellbinder die and placed on a mat of pink atop a mat of Ice Cream Digi paper, a freebie from GKD.  I used a MS Border Punch Scallop Dots across the bottom edge of the mat and adhere to a card base of pink. The sentiment from Repeat Impressions was stamped with Memento Rose Bud ink.  I had used Harriet (but as a blonde) on a very similar card which I have shown at the bottom of this post.  I forgot I had used the same sentiment and digi paper as I did today.

I am also entering this for the Charisma Cardz Challenge which is Ice Cream....my flavor is strawberry if you want to know the flavor of Harriet's cone. By the way Crafty Sentiments Designs is one of the sponsors here this week.

A Bunch of Flowers

Happy Easter to all my friends and followers!

 

The challenge  at Joan's Garden is fun this week...we are to

Use some kind of container

Fill it with flowers

Use Yellow, Green and Orange

You must use something sold at Joan's Gardens on your card.

I started by making a basket with strips of textured brown card stock that I have saved forever from making some other baskets.  I started with a base card of textured olive green (stash) and layered with blue  card stock embossed with Cuttlebug Wicker Weave Embossing Folder and the a pattern paper from My Mind's Eye pad. Does that not look like a lace tablecloth over a gold liner??

I then filled my basket with flowers and foliage. I first added a Fanciful Flourish cut with Cheery Lynn die but it got lost under the flowers. My flowers were made with  Cheery Lynn Build a Flower #1 (stamens and leaves) and Build a Flower #2 ( poppy petals and leaves), Stampin' Up 6 petal flower punch, and Martha Stewart leaf punch.  I used various shades of green paper for the leaves, yellow, orange, and  white papers for the flowers.  Green and orange brads were used in center of some of the flowers.  A tag stamped with sentiment from Flourishes "Zinnias" in Memento Cantaloupe ink was added to the bouquet and a "Friends" Metal Brad (Stash) was attached to the baskets with brads....love the texture that adds.  I used the Tool Kit from Joan's for assembling the flowers and some of the many useful tips from Selma for making flowers.  Items used from Joan's are highlighted in orange.

Red and Gold with a Flair

 

I am running very close to the deadline for the challenge at Annabelle for their sketch shown to the left. I am rushing to get this in. My card is very simple but in a way,  dramatic with the gold and red and the large font of the sentiment.  This Annabelle stamp is one of my faves for Christmas.  Instead of bling, I added some dots punched from the metallic paper.

Card Too Late Or Too Early?

I know my card is for the wrong season at the wrong time but I thought this was a great stamp to do for paper piecing and I am trying to use some of the stamps that I have never inked.  Why have a stamp and never use it??  At The House That Stamps Built, Patti J. is challenging us to create a card that includes paper piecing for the Designers Choice Challenge #926.  I dug out some paper scraps and went about making this card using Paper Piecing  for items on the clothesline and the grass.  Guess it will  be summer in Australia...in a couple months.....so maybe I am too early but will have for whenever summer arrives wherever.

Mini Card for Timeless Tuesday

The challenge at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday is hosted by Broni. Her challenge is  to create a mini card! Just make a small version , no larger than 4″ x 3″.   I made my card 4' x3", a perfect size to enclose with a gift. I used a Flourishes Zinnia image which was a great size  for the card.

This is a card that I made for Joan's Gardens Challenge but before I get in to that, I want to thank my friend and neighbor, Rita. Due to her, this card was made possible because I borrowed from her the die for the lattice, the stamp for the bird, and even the flower I think was punched with one of her punches.  I came across the punched flowers in a stash of precut flowers that I did some time ago and I think it was from a punch of Rita's.  The floral background was even from some scrap leftover from some cards we had made together for a club project.

Now back to the challenge. For Joan's Gardens Weekly Challenge #31 we are to use a framed lattice background , any type of flowers , a  bird , and a vertical greeting.  I think I have all the elements covered.  Used 3 layers for flower which I embossed with Clear EP and stacked with pop up dots and used unknown Black Brad for center. My card is sized 5" x 7" to better use the lattice.

Roses for My Mother

 I made this card with Vintage, Shabby Chic, Mother's Day, butterflies, fancy folds and other ideas in mind.  I will be entering it into several challenges. The image on the front is from Magic Moonlight and the inside Rose Graphic is from Graphics Fairy.  I used the Joy Fold design for my card which I have shown with the card closed with a ribbon and also opened to show the inside.

Playing with Bright Colors

 When the weather is cold and gloomy outside, the best thing to do is stay inside and make a bright card....and this one is a bit brighter than I usually make. I hope it might brighten someone's day.  I have used one of my favorite Flourishes stamps "Zinnias" but it's hard to say which is my favorite as I have so many faves. I colored the stamp with bright Copics after stamping on white cardstock with black ink.  Added some side panels of pattern paper, punched strips along the bottom edge, and stamped the sentiment on layered circles with a touch of ribbons. Finished with a die cut butterfly with bright pink bling. Lot of bright pink, orange, yellow, and green used on this project.

Card with Heart

 Today I have another simple card for Valentine's that fits several challenges. I used stamps from Annabelle's Stamps using the colors red, black, and white and added some texture with a punched border, punched out hearts, some sprinkles,
and dry embossing border.

Ice and Snowflakes

This is a card that I am not sure I like or not but posting anyway. I was playing with Mark's Finest stamp set " Ice and Snow" to create a card with snowflakes for Speedy the Cats Friends Challenge  suggested by Brenda-" Use a snowflake".
I used a very cool color Memento London Fog to stamp the icicles and snowflakes and then also stamped the same with Versamark  and embossed with Silver EP. Added a strip of GKD London Fog CS stamped with the sentiment and extended the snowflakes by masking.  Used a Martha Stewart border punch which looks like dripping icicles.
Guess we all make something not quite the best when playing with our stamps and inks. Will just refer to this as an experiment.  Not sure if you can read the verse....maybe you can if you enlarge.

Two Cards for the New Year

 Today, I am sharing a couple of cards that I made for Stamp TV December Release challenges.
The top card was made for Donna's Challenge to make our own Pattern Paper. Using stamps from GKD Nana's Needleworks and Sentiments and Fanciful Tags, I stamped sentiments for a Thank You Card. Used the Knitting Basket ( colored with Copics and Markers) as a focus that was cut with Spellbinders dies. Ink was Memento Rhubarb Stalk and Rich Cocoa and Papers were White and Kraft CS.

The second challenge from Giovana was to create a card using stamped flowers. I stamped the rose from GKD's A Year of Flowers by Melanie using Memento Rich Cocoa on Ivory CS and coloring with Copics RV11,21,23. Cut this with Nesties Oval and Matted on Scallop Oval of Brown CS. Coordinated Pattern Paper from Authentique "Uncommon" Pad and vines punched with Martha Stewart Vine Trim Punch from ivory and brown CS. Finished with Pearl colored with Copics.
Assembled this card using a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches shown below. I will be entering this challenge found here.

Happy Christmas

A few weeks ago, I was lucky to win some  Digi Doodle  images and I am using "Christmas Ornaments", one of my wins, in this card. I colored the branch with copics and the ornaments with Metallic and Glitter Jelli-Ink pens to give some shine and sparkle. ( Hard to see...BIRL)  I distressed the edge with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Barn Door. Matted this on BasicGrey Jovial Pattern Paper. My Card base of GKD All Spruced Up was embossed with CB EF Polka dots and  and layered partly with another pattern from Jovial Paper Pad. Added branches made with EK Success punch and some Annabelle Red Sprinkles. Sentiment stamp is from a magazine insert from last year that I embossed with Red EP.

Bloopers Covered Up!

I enjoyed doing the double embossing technique for a Timeless Tuesday challenge so much that I made another one and included a frame around the image. This seemed to be the card that was not meant to be....I had so many mishaps....but I persevered and it came to be.  Just to tell a few bloopers (not telling all) - not only did I stamp the sentiment upside down directly below the image, but I messed up one of the blossoms when I embossed with EP. Solutions: Just restamped the sentiment, cut it with a die and attached over the mistake. Restamped the flowers, embossed correctly and cut out a couple blooms to cover up mistake. Result was
more dimension and texture.
