More Christmas Cards

Hello! Today I am sharing some Christmas cards made using patterned papers that were in a magazine that I purchased some time ago and filed away.  On the 2 bottom cards, I used one of the pattern papers as a layer on the card base before attaching another pattern paper as the focus of the card. on all 3 cards, I used a Pilot Gold Marker to edge all the papers and added several types of stickles to add sparkle to the designs.  Attached Gold Satin Ribbon bows to the Bauble cards and Pink Brads to the Santa card.  A Penny Black sentiment was stamped and embossed with Gold EP on each card. Used Pink and White cardstock as card bases.
Wish you could see the sparkle and texture of the stickles that I used.  Looks so good in real life.

Challenges:

Fab 'n' Funky Challenges: 543 Use 2 or More Patterned Papers. Bottom 2 cards use 2 patterned papers and embellishments from stash.

Speeding Santa

Welcome to my studio!  In an attempt to use up some of my supplies, I pulled out a box of digital images that I had printed and stored away for later use. I also opened a box of patterned papers that I saved from magazines and a box of Christmas patterned paper. I challenged myself to create cards using these supplies.  The cards above are 2 of the many cards that used some of these supplies. The digital image is from Dearie Dolls..... Santa Bring Home the Tree....the top one was colored using Copics.  Added some texture with a Snow Marker and Stickles.  The plaid paper was from a magazine freebie. Used GKD Green CS as the base
The bottom card used the same digital image but was colored by the artist. I inked the edge of the image with a red marker and placed on a black mat, then a patterned paper from American Crafts and a red card base.  GKD sentiment stamp used on both card.

Christmas in July

Hello!  Did you know that Santa stays at the beach in July? At least that is where he is on my card!  I used some very old stamps to create this beach scene with Santa.  My background was stamped with Flourishes Beach Life set from 2010 using Memento Black ink and colored with Copics.  Santa standing in front of the Palm Trees with a Hammock is from a 2012 Mark Finest Papers set.   I framed the square image with Pattern Paper that has squares in the design from my stash.  Finished with Cheery Lynn die cut sentiment and card base of red card stock.

What's in Santa's Bag?

Hello! When I was searching for an idea for a Santa card, I found another Silhouette file that inspired to make this card.  After printing this Santa by Stinkin' Cute,  I simply cut him with an oval die and attached to a black CS oval and then to an old Pattern Paper from Webster Pages pad.  I am always trying to use up some of my pattern paper stash.  I just liked this pattern with Santa even though it does not scream Christmas.  Finished with a Tag (from stash) stamped with Hero Arts sentiment in SU Ruby Red and a Dark Red Card Base.  Think that is a dog in his bag but it could be a teddy bear which I prefer over a dog.

Al's List to Santa

Hello!  I wanted to make a Santa card for the Challenge at Merry Monday Christmas and decided to use one of my files from Silhouette - Santa's face by Sarah Bailey.  I printed and cut the image and used it with an old pattern paper from Webster Pages Waiting for Santa pad.  I stamped a couple of sentiments from Hero Arts and wrote on the list to Santa for my DH.  Need to add Book to the list since there is one more line. Finished with a Green Card Base that matched the pattern.
For fun, I added a little twinkle to Santa's eyes  with Clear Star pen.  Even without his hat, you know this is Santa.

Here Comes Santa

Hello!  My card depicts a scene of Santa leaving on his annual trip with Mrs. Claus waving him on his way. The stamps and dies used are all from Hero Arts October kit.  For the Sky,  I used White CS
that absorbed some accidently spilled Metallic Blueberry Mist on my work desk.  The Mountain layer was cut from special paper included in the kit.  The die cut elements were all colored with Copics.  Added snow with Snow Maker.  This was a fun card to create.

Santa's Return to the North Pole

Hello!  Back to playing in the snow at the North Pole.  Created this scene with Hero Arts October kit using a dog sled, polar bear, and Santa flying in his sled.  The Mountain background was die cut and sponged with Distress Oxide ink and snow added with Marvy Snow Marker.  The shiny night sky  was made by accident when I spilled Metallic Blueberry Mist on my work desk.  I quickly grabbed some white CS to absorb the spill and now have shiny CS for several skies,  Foreground was made with torn Watercolor paper strips. Stamped the trees and sentiment and added the "Elf" house, sleigh,  sled and bear which were die cut.  Sign Post was fussy cut.  All coloring was done with Copics.  More snow added to trees with liquid pearls and to sky with Stardust Pen.  I imagine Santa is returning to his workshop since he is flying in that direction and the girl in the dog sled is headed there to welcome him home.

Challenges:
Allsorts Challenge: Week 439 Christmas Creatures.  My creatures include Polar Bear, Reindeer, and Dogs.
Sweet Stampin' Challenge: Theme is Bears.  My Polar Bear is on the way to Santa's Workshop. He was stamped with Black ink, die cut, and covered in fur made with Snow Marker.

Vintage Santa

Hello!  Sometimes a card comes together so quick and easy and some of the simplest cards are the hardest.  This one was very easy once I found the digital vintage image from TLC by Paulette that I had stored in my files.  I printed the image on white CS and after I trimmed it with a white margin, I distressed the margin with Distress Ink Antique Linen and the edges with a distressing tool.  I found just the right Pattern Paper from an old Webster's Pages pad and used a mossy green card base.  I wrapped the Coppery Gold Organza ribbon around the image before attaching to the base.  Something about this ribbon was just perfect in my eyes.  I was not going to add a verse but remembered this stamp from Gina K Designs Joy and Peace set and thought it had a vintage ring to it.  I stamped in the upper corner...perfect fit...with SU Always Artichoke ink.  I plan to use this image for more cards but will try using water color paper to see if I like better.

Starry Christmas

Hello!  I seem to be using some of the greens in my stash which I seldom use.  I do not know the origin of this particular green but it seems to work for this card.  I embossed the green with a Stars EF and added to a card base of white.   I printed the Santa image using a Silhouette file with the Cameo and cut with a circle die and adhered to some green circles and added to the card.  To finish I popped up some die cut gold stars found in some leftovers and added Merry and snowflakes cut with Cheery Lynn die.

2 for 1 Santa

 Welcome to the studio!
Today I am sharing 2 versions of a card.  I made this first on white CS and then decided Santa really flies when the sky is dark.   So I made another with a dark background.  Both cards are one layer of cardstock embossed with Darice EF Santa Sleigh.

Supplies used: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Brilliance Moonlight White ink, Yellow Pencil, Yellow Glitter Stickles, Gold Glitter Stickles, Silver EP, Gold EP, Versamark, Navy CS, White CS, Sentiment Penny Black.

Santa Gets Stuck

Hello! Are you ready for Santa?   At the Less Is More challenge they are looking for Santa on a One Layer card.  I hope I am showing enough of him to be eligible for the challenge.   I used a Darice EF to emboss the image of Santa stuck in the chimney and colored him with Copics.  I used GKD heavy weight white CS which is great with Copics because the colors do not bleed to the inside.  Added some embossed snowflakes and a sentiment from Creative Clear stamps.  Used some stickles on the snow, snowflakes, and boots.
Other Challenges:
Creative Corner Challenges: Black and White plus one more color (red)

Fun and Quick Christmas

This card was made for the Craftyhazelnut's challenge to make a Christmas Card in less that 20 minutes. I decided that this would not take much time so I gave it a go.  Actually I did this in 10 minutes since I made a one layer card using Glossy White CS and a Darice embossing folder called Santa Chimney Top.  To color the embossed areas, I used 4 colors of Hero Arts Markers which were water-based and dried very quickly.  Finished with a Creative Vision Stamp heat embossed with Black EP.  My first thought was to do an all white card but then I remembered this EF and played with it.
