Relax on Father's Day

Hello!  I have been playing with an old LOTV stamp with James Bear Deckchair Dreaming which I know I have had since 2010 or earlier.  I stamped the image and colored with Copics and die cut with Nesties circle die and then added to a design made with Bazzill Grapefruit Bliss CS and pattern papers from MME Collectable pad. I used the sketch from Retro Rubber Challenge #40.  I finished with a Father's Day sentiment from GKD stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Red EP.

Lovely Lilacs

Hello!  Lilacs are such a beautiful and fragrant blossom.  We have a Lilac bush but it does not bloom every year....not very dependable.  I printed Power Poppy's digital image of Lilacs in bloom on white CS and colored with Copics.  The Power Poppy Sentiment was stamped with Memento Pear Tart ink.  I place this on an embossed layer of the same green color and on a card base of Bazzill Lilac textured CS.  Finished with a lovely satin ribbon that I won in a challenge and a handmade bow.
Don't you love the little ladybug on the leaf?...part of the stamp.

Easter Greetings

 

Hello! Easter is just around the corner.  I made a CAS card using a fussy cut out of a lily from a Dutch Gardens Catalog ( See photo of page that I used on right).  I got the idea to use something from a magazine from  the challenge from Mod Squad to use a magazine, gift catalog, or any other periodical to find something to be somewhere on your card.  I used the sketch from CAS on Sunday challenge.  I have more lilies cut out to use on other cards.

Sunday Fashion from Years Ago

 
The challenge this week at Sugar Creek Hollow is called VINTAGE FASHION. We are to make vintage, shabby chic or primitive cards featuring the fashions of times gone by.  Besides being vintage or shabby chic, the entry must show some sort of vintage fashion - clothing, hats, shoes, etc. in order to meet the challenge theme.
I chose to use a image by Create with TLC showing a lady of years ago in her Sunday dress.  I used colors from CR84FN color challenge.  I colored the lady in Copics and cut it out with Nesties oval that I edged with green and sponged with gray ink. I placed this on an embossed CS of Lavender.  I added ribbons of green and lavender. Added a veil of tulle to her hat that I colored with green ink. The sentiment is a stamp from Anna Griffin.

A Study in Greens

 One of the most difficult cards for me to make is a monochromatic card...I don't know why, but it is.
When I saw this sketch at Lily Pads, it inspired me to make a monochromatic card maybe because it was designed in monochrome gray. Any who, I dug out some Bazzill textured CS in green tones and combined with a Stampin Up pattern paper to create this project. Used a Leaf Stamp and Sentiment from GKD's "A Year of Leaves"  that I stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves to keep everything green.
This a very simple design but pleased with the monochrome color combo.

Challenges to enter:
Lily Pad Sketch Challenge: See sketch below. Fairly simple compared to most of the entries.
Sentimental Sunday: Monochromatic plus a Sentiment.
Truly Scrumptious Challenge: Clean and Simple.
Fab 'n' Funky Challenges: Hard to make theme. As I said above, monochromatic is hard for me.


Our green leaves are beginning to show some fall colors.
This would me an easy card and layout to make in fall colors as well.

This card features a digital image from Meljens Designs called Flutterbye Fairy. Their challenge this week is to use buttons and bows. I had fun with the colors on this image which I did with Copics.

Hugs for My Teddy Bear

 Every week, I say I want to do the Challenge at Meljens Designs and  this week I did. I used their challenge sketch for this week and used her digi "Littel Girl Bear Hugs" that I colored with Copics, Ink Pad and Pencils. I also used one of her Freebies "Stitched Hello" cut out with Spellbinders Label 4. I used BasicGrey DP from Sweet Threads and Bazzill Razzleberry Light CS. I embossed the solid CS with CB EF Stylized Flowers. Finished with bling, ribbon, and wood flowers and leaves.
Just love this little girl with her teddy bear!

Flowers for You with Love

It has been too long since I did a challenge for Lili of the Valley, so I made this card to enter into their Ribbons and Bows Challenge.
Entered into these challenges:
Lili of the Valley: Use ribbons and bows.....added ribbon  to the bouquet bow and in the scalloped edge and above that edge. Double bow under the flower.
Cute Card Thursday: Use distressing. Distressed with ink on the scalloped circle, edge of mat and on the lace.
Delightful Challenge: Use flowers on your project. Flowers stamped in the image, in the DP, and added paper rose.
Wag 'n Whskers: Use circles. Circles in the DP and used circle die.
Stamptacular Sunday: This week's challenge is “PINK-a-Licious!” Used pink in flowers, ribbons, lace, and papers. Hope the bit of green in DP and leaves does not disqualify the card.
Papertake Weekly: Bloom and grow. Lot of flowers blooming on my card.
Really Reasonable Ribbon: Challenge is Anything Goes. Used both ribbon and lace.

By the Sea

Hello everyone. I have been busy outside doing yard work and cleaning the garden beds the last few days and have not spent much time blogging and card making. We finally got some sunshine and warmer temperatures so I am taking advantage of the weather. After the winter we had, it is a much welcomed  relief  to be outside. Also doing some house maintenance and preparing to have the house painted  soon. That's what you do when retireed....thought this card was appropriate for today since I made it as a Retirement Card.
I am posting this one that I made sometime ago but never posted. I found some challenges that it fits so thought this would be a good time to show. I did paper piecing for the sea  and used several layers of mats. Fairly simple card.

Card for Joan and Others

I love the challenges at Joan's Gardens. This week Joan wants us to use the colors pink and green, create a thank you card, use some kind of stripes and something scalloped.  My card just evolved as I use the required elements.
I started by stamping a striped frame design on light pink card stock with green ink and cut out with Labels 4 die. I colored in some of the design with pink Copics. I stamped a Thank You verse on the center. I matted this on green CS that I cut with a larger Labels 4 die. I used another shade of green for the card base which I layered with a deep pink CS and Rose Pattern Paper ( found in some digi paper that I had printed)  that I embossed and punched  with a scalloped design on the bottom edge.  Added some pink roses for dimension.  And that's how I made my card.
