Love with Hearts and Flowers

Hello!  The card that I am posting was inspired by the challenge at CAS Mix Up challenge which is to use Faux Cloisonne. This technique is new to me so I watched the tutorials listed with the challenge and had to give it a try.  I chose a page (shown below) from an old Martha Stewart Living magazine to use for my design.  I stamped a portion of the glossy page with a Gina K Design stamp from Tropical Blooms set (2018) using Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Gold EP. Next time, I think I'd attach the glossy page to a cardstock before stamping since the paper stuck to the stamp and I only got one chance to stamp with ink even though I was using the Misti.
I used a Gina K die to cut the image which I attached to Stick It before cutting.  This made it much easier to adhere the image to the card stock panel of Gina K White CS. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from Gina K You Have My Heart Set. I also added a die cut heart cut with Gina K Die from GKD Gold Metallic CS. To finish, I edged the panel with Pilot Gold Metallic Marker, attached it to a layer of Pink CS from stash, and then to a White Card Base.
I will be sending this card to my Mother for Valentine's. I think the Cloisonne technique gives an "antiquey" vibe to the card.
Challenges:
ModSquad Challenge: Hearts and Flowers. Used Gina K Stamps and Dies as listed above.
Simon Wednesday Challenge: Simon Says With Love.  I put a lot of love into my card.

Lots of Heart

Hello! I am sharing a card that was inspired by a sketch challenge but fits several challenges that I have found this week.  I created this card using several scraps of pattern paper from my stash, a Spellbinders Scalloped Heart die, some old word stamps from Repeat Impressions ink, and clear embossing powder. I arranged several trimmed scraps in a random pattern and attached to a red card base.  I added the heart cut from a shimmery pink cardstock(another scrap) that I popped up on a foam heart. Stamped the words with red ink and embossed with clear EP for some shine.

Glitzy Gold and Red

Hello! This is my third post today....working on completing some challenges before time runs out.  For this card, I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches shown below with some stamps from Gina K Designs You Have My Heart set.  I also used Gina K Gold Glitz Glitter gel for the first time with a Tim Holtz Stencil Layering Lace to create a "doily" element for the background on white cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment and hearts with red ink and heat embossed with GKD Clear EP on white CS.  I used Spellbinder circle dies to trim this and a mat of Red CS.  Finished the design with red satin ribbon and bow and red nail head bling.
Challenges:
Mix It Up Challenges: MIUCB #34 Anything Goes + Stenciling. Used Tim Holtz stencil with Glitter Gel.
Monthly Mix Challenge: Just Add Texture. Used Glitz Glitter Gel for my texture as well as ribbon and heat embossing.

Musical Anniversary Card

Hello!  I was inspired to make this card for the challenge at Allsorts with the theme of Music.  I used a scrap of Patterned Paper with Gold Foiled accents from a magazine freebie  and a card base of Metallic Gold CS (looks like Kraft in photo).  Note the words on the paper says "Something for you, something for me."   I stamped the GKD Guitar and Sentiment on Ivory CS with Versamark, heat embossed with Gold EP,  and then die cut. Assembled on the Metallic Gold CS base and added a border of Shiny Metallic Gold to finish.  This will be used as an  anniversary card in October.

Challenge:

Playing with Acetate

 Front
Inside
Hello!  Today I am showing a card that I made for the Monthly Mix Challenge at Stamp TV.  We are to use acetate on our project.  I found this to be a difficult challenge for me for 3 reasons-
# 1.  I do not like to use acetate as I find it hard to keep the acetate clean and it is hard to stamp with ink.
#2. I do not like to use Stazon ink....I always get ink on my fingers and I do not like the smell of the ink.
#3.  I have the hardest time photographing anything with acetate without getting glare.  I had to make several shots to get a decent photo.
With that off my chest,  I did get a finished card ….front of card shown above in top photo.  Stamped Guitar and Sentiment from GKD You Have My Heart set with STAZON on panel of ACETATE. The inside was finished with die cuts of the guitar in the patterned paper and pink CS stamped with a heart and another sentiment stamped on bottom edge.  The die cut guitar was lined up directly under the stamped guitar on the acetate.

Shall We Dance?

Welcome!  Some stamps just make me smile, like this one - dancing bears from Lili of The Valley called Shall We Dance which I have had over 5 years.   I stamped the image with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on GKD white CS and colored with copics.  I had fun accessorizing their fancy outfits with Black Gemstones(cufflinks and buttons)  and Pearls (necklace and shoes).  I did a color wash in the background with Distress Oxide Ink and a water brush.  After trimming the image, I adhered it to a mat of dark gray CS and then to a base card of shimmering  pink pearl CS. The GKD sentiment was stamped with black ink and embossed with clear EP.  I will stash this card away for our anniversary in October.

Challenges:

Hello!  Time to think about Valentine cards for those we love.  I created this design with Gina K's stamps and dies from the new Hearts and Flowers kit.   I stamped both the guitar and fancy heart on white CS with Black ink and colored with copics.  I tried to color the guitar with a wood grain lookI cut both out and layered with die cuts from Black CS. I embossed a layer of GKF Red Velvet CS with Cuttlebug Allegro EF for the background which I also stamped and heat embossed with a Gina K sentiment from the set.  I finished by arranging the Guitar and Heart with more hearts cut from red and black CS.  Attached to a card base of GKD Black CS.

Galaxy with Love

Hello! This card was inspired by the challenge Trend Week #423  at Just Us Girls to use  a Galaxy Background/Night Sky.  I actually began with a piece of White CS that I had used to absorb a spill of Metallic Blueberry Mist shown below.  I cut a section of the paper and layered with some Distress Oxide inks using Black Soot, Faded Jeans, Fossilized Amber, and Wilted Violet until I got the galaxy look. The sparkle from the Metallic mist shows in real life but not so much in the photo.  I stamped Stars and Sentiment from Hero Arts with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold EP.  Used a Gold Metallic CS for the card base.
Challenges:
Tuesday Throwdown: #375 Distressing.

Love From the Heart

Welcome!  I was inspired to make this card after watching a Jennifer McGuire video about Distress Ink resist embossing.  I made this card with some old Flourishes stamps From the Heart and Cherry Blossoms (Marcella Hawley).  I stamped the Cherry Blossoms with Versamark and embossed with clear EP on white CS (not the usual Glossy) and sponged with several Distress Inks. I Case'd her "lopsided" (her words) design using white CS cut at an angle and stamped the sentiments with Distress Inks. I even added some Nuvo drops like she did. My addition was die cutting a heart in this layer and adding a smaller die cut heart. I used a Pink Card base to finish.

CAS Love

As promised, I am back with more cards made using sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #178.  The above card has no ink stamping (only an embossed postage stamp) on the front (message will be inside) but a lot of Dry Embossing with Cuttlebug EF's  Polka Dots, Pop Culture Border, and Love Postage Stamp ( red CS).  I trimmed the embossed postage stamp and added it to the White Card Base  with some scoring beneath the dots.  Also added some glitter to the postage stamp.

On the second card I simply embossed the Love Postage Stamp EF on a Pink Shimmer CS and added some Wink of Stella for more shimmer. EF from Cuttlebug.

Have a great day! I love reading your comments. Theresa
