Christmas in July

Hello!  July is a good time to make Christmas cards in order to have a stash for the holiday.   I made this card using a technique of thumping which is to ink a stamp with a marker and then add more color to by tapping a darker colored marker over the stamp.  I used GKD stamps from Pressed Flowers (flower and stem) and Joyful Holidays(Sentiment) with Memento Markers I inked the Poinsettia with Lady Bug and then thumped on  Rhubarb Stalk.  The stems were inked with Bamboo Leaves and thumped with Cottage Ivy. I use GKD dies to cut out the images and arranged on a embossed mat of GKD Grass Green CS. Stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts white ink and heat embossed with EP. Added a bit of gold embossing to center of flowers.

Do You Thump?

Hello! I am back with a card using my fave colors of pink and green and a technique that I seldom use... "Thumping" which is to take a darker colored marker and start tapping or "thumping" on the image to add darker spots.
I used the layout from Seize the Sketch and color inspiration from Cupcake Inspirations.

Supplies:
Stamps: GKD Stippled Nature
Inks: Memento Pear Tart and Angel Pink inks and Bamboo Leaves and Rose Bud Markers
Papers: Lime Green CS for Card Base, White CS, and Pattern Paper from GKD Petal & Wings
Dies: Spellbinder Label and Rectangle Dies
Pink Satin Ribbon and Watering Can Charm from stash

Challenges:
Stamp TV Release Challenge: Use Thumping Technique
Seize The Sketch:  Sketch #23
Shopping Our Stash Weekly: Color Your Week...use favorite color...that 'd be pink.
Simon Wednesday: Says Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps: Challenge #101 Anything Goes

I enjoy all your comments. Thank you. Theresa

Stamp TV Potluck Friday Challenge Sept 4

This week's Potluck Challenge involves adding one or more elements beyond the boundaries of your card base. You can go over the top like a tent topper, off the sides, and feel free to play with the card shape as well if that fits your theme.
This is my design for "Outside the Lines". I made a slit in one of the grids of this card and slid in a matching bookmark that goes over the top. Trimmed the grid so the finished card is 5" hi by 3 7/8" wide ...fits in envelope. Bookmark measures 5.25" hi by 2" wide and is laminated with Xyron. Top photo shows the bookmark out of the card..."a gift with card".  Both the card and bookmark are stamped on Confetti CS with a green CS mat.
Stamps: Gina K: Melanie's Inspiration Mosaic for mosaic, dots, and sentiments.        Gina K Elegant Flowers for the gold flower.
Hero Art bluebonnet stamp for the other flower.
Inks: Pumpkin Spice, Hint of Pesto, Eggplant, and Jumbo Java (Versamagic Chalk Inks).
Green ribbon on the punched bookmark is the finish.
Footnote added 9-11-09: My name was drawn as the winner of this challenge.
I was thrilled to win a Gina K stamp set. Chose Melanie's  " A Year of Leaves"
Thanks for visiting.
Have a good day.
Theresa
