Happy, Happy, Happy, and Happy

Hello! I had fun making this card but it took so long to create because I kept changing the elements and the layout, but I finally finish the design.  The card was inspired by the February Monthly Mix challenge at Gina K Designs. We are to make a fun fold card and use pattern paper that we create with GKD stamps.  I stamped GKD Petite Flourish Background stamp with GKD Green Asparagus Ink on GKD Innocent Pink ink for the pattern paper which I trimmed into panels to fit the folds of the White Card. See the fold in the photo on the side. I inked all the edges of the panels with Pilot Metallic Gold marker before attaching. 

I stamped a Rose image from GKD Tropical Blooms set with Versamark on the Pink CS and heat embossed with Gold EP. I cut the image with a die from the same set and colored in the leaves with green Copics and shaded the Petals with Pink Copics.  Attached this image to the edge of the fold. I stamped, heat embossed, and die cut the word Happy 4 times. Adhered one of these to the outside fold and arranged the others   to the inside beneath the top fold. Did the same steps-stamp, heat, and die cut- with the word Birthday and attached so you can see on the card beneath the Happy when closed and open.  Lot of Happiness unfolds from this card!

Whimsical Flowers

Hello!  I've decided to try and make more than one card at a time since it is easy to do once you have stamps and supplies out.  I have used Gina K Design stamps and a die from Whimsical Wildflowers for these cards using partial die cutting and water coloring on both designs. I stamped the floral image twice on watercolor paper and heat embossed one with gold EP and one with white EP.  I water colored each with DOI Picked Raspberry and DI Forest Moss using a water brush. I used the GKD Die to partially cut the image.  The top card was finished by placing the cut portion on top of a Pattern Paper that I created with GKD Background Stamp Petite Flourish using GKD Fresh Asparagus ink on white CS.  Finished this one with a card base of GKD Fresh Asparagus CS and a Gold Embossed GKD sentiment. . 

I kept the second card clean and simple by simply adding the partially cut image to a card base of Yellow CS and stamping the GKD sentiment with Distress Ink Forest Moss.  I found it hard to water color this image since it was embossed with white EP but I just tried to follow the lines by looking at the first card that I colored first

Happy Fall to Y'all

Hello! Yesterday was the first day of fall and the leaves are already falling even before they change colors.  I created the background for this card using leaves from my yard (actually did this a few years ago).  I placed the leaves on a printer and scanned them to a file on my computer....sort of created my own digital patterned paper.  Took a few trials before I got them arranged to my liking.  To make my card I just printed the leaves on a white card stock. Trimmed the image and attached it to a layer of Yellow CS inked with a wine Copics.  I used a card base of Gold Yellow CS.  For the focus of my card, I stamped a sentiment from Gina K Designs A Year of Leaves (2009) set with Distress Ink Aged Mahogany on a panel of the Gold CS  and distressed the edges with the same ink.

Snowflakes Are On the Way

Hello!  Today I have created a Patterned Paper using Gina K snowflakes stamps from Merry and Bright Stamp TV kit stamped randomly on Gina K Powder Blue CS with Versamark ink and heat embossed with White EP.  After trimming the panel, I inked the edge with Gold Metallic Pen.    I wrapped this with a ribbon, added a sentiment from the same set, and popped up a Snowflake also heat embossed with White EP, die cut, layered on circles of White CS and gold Metallic Paper.  I adhered to Gina K White Card Base to finish.

Sequins or Not

Welcome to my studio!  Today I am playing with the Mix It Up Monday Challenge at Stamp TV and we are to create our own patterned paper using stamped images.   I chose to use the pine bough stamps from Merry and Bright Stamp TV kit with Memento Bamboo Leaves and New Sprout inks on Ivory CS to create my pattern.   For my focus I stamped and die cut Pine Cones and Pine Bough that I adhered to the background.  I die cut Holiday from the Grass Green and Pumpkin Spice CS's and stamped the word Happy with Distress Oxide ink Wild Honey.  Finished with a card base of Ivory CS and a Mat of Grass Green.  Other supplies: Inks-DO Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Memento Rich Cocoa , Copic Brown, Clear EP.  After I made a photo of the card,  I decided to add copper sequins to give a more finished look. Compare the first photo to the second photo.  Which do you like?

Everything Rosy

Hello!  Have you ever created your own Pattern Paper?  I did using Photoshop and a single digital image.  I used the single rose image from Power Poppy Rose and Chamomile set  and arranged 36 roses on a panel 4" x 5.25", colored the roses red (through the magic of Photoshop), and printed this on white CS.  I then printed a sentiment and image from Power Poppy Everything Rosy set.   I colored the image with Copics and cut with an oval die and placed on a red oval mat. The sentiment was cut with a label die and edged with red ink.  I assembled the card using my "Pattern Paper" with a red card base and adding a Green Grosgrain ribbon with a blue thread that picked up colors in the image.

Amazing Technique

 

Hello!  This is a card that I made after watching a  video by Jennifer McGuire on making monochromatic cards and layering stamps.  I loved her cards and just had to give this technique a try.  This is one of the results from my trials.

Supplies used:  Verve stamps from Nature Walk and Fabulous You, Yellow and White Cardstocks, Memento Tangelo Ink, White Gel Pen, Vellum, Versamark, White EP, Die Cut.

I thought this would fit the challenge at Mod Squad Challenge Blog this week-Pattern Your Paper.

DIY Pattern Paper

Hello!  I have something very different to share today. That would be my "patterned paper" which I created myself.  A few years ago I made the paper by collecting fall leaves from the yard and arranged the leaves on top of my printer screen ( This took a few trials before I got the arrangements to my liking) and then scanned and saved to my computer.  I scanned and saved several versions to my Digital Paper files.  The great thing is I can create the design to fit any size I need and print as I need it.  But actually this is leftover from some paper I had printed some years ago and just found in my scraps and thought what a CAS card it would make by combining with this beautiful sentiment from Repeat Impressions.  The paper was embossed with Cuttlebug EF Forest Branches for texture which you can see if you look closely.  I stamped the words  with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink on Yellow CS and sponged with DI Antique Linen and the Rhubarb Stalk.  I used a Nestabilities  rectangle die to cut.  I finished assembling the card with a card base of the Yellow CS and a layer of Dark Brown CS from my paper stash.  The great thing is that is no one else has this Pattern Paper and it is unique.

Challenges:
The House That Stamps Built: Challenge DCC924- Fall.  I like to always use Repeat Impressions for this challenge  but I realized that I do not own any RI Fall stamps and will have to correct that.  Instead I improvised and used my fall paper with this sentiment because fall is full of Beautiful days.
The ABC Challenge: U is for Unique.  My card is very simple but is unique.
Die Cut Diva's Challenge Blog: Challenge is the change of seasons...must use one die cut or one embossing folder. Used Rectangle die cut and Forest Branches EF.
